Guest Reviews
- Dan (10/5): A fantastic place to stay when visiting the tropical paradise of Isla Isabela. I couldn’t recommend anywhere more highly - The facilities are lovely. The owners are wonderfully welcoming, friendly and warm. N/a
- Angela (10/5): -
- simon (8/5): -
- Tamar (8/5): Simple with some perks - Nice extras like hammocks, place to rinse and hang clothes, separate kitchen ( although just single electric burner) and outdoor table. Good walking distance to port. Clean. Strong shower pressure and hot water. Drinking water provided. Didn’t realize when booking that breakfast is no longer provided. Fairly simple accommodation.
- Ryan (9/5): Superb - The garden and relaxing facilities. Good kitchen, comfortable bed and fridge in room. Very helpful host and good breakfast.
convenient for port, beach and centre of town.
- Caragol (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful little B&B run by a lovely couple who speak some English. Close to town but quiet. Rooms were great
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yiyi (9/5): Superb - Quiet and peaceful, good condition of the room and spacious. Good breakfast+ free fresh coconut. Great air con and hot shower.
- Michael (10/5): It was an excellent time and I loved the hospitality and the room. - I loved the breakfast, the juice I had here was the best juice I had on any island. I also was grateful for the extremely friendly host. The hammocks in the common area were great for a late night talk with my friends. There were a lot of ants in the common area. It is a bit far from the town so I would recommend to the owner to buy a few bikes and rent them to travelers. Lastly I would suggest that they update the google maps location to the front of the location because when we followed google we ended up by the school in the back.
- DAVID (8/5): - Very poor internet. Otherwise a nice clean place with nice people. She got up early to get us something to eat for a 5AM departure
- Davis (7/5): Good -
- Rochelle (10/5): HIghly recommend! Would go again and stay for a week just for cooking lessons! - Location was quiet, just outside of town. Just a few minutes walk from downtown or docks. Breakfast was fabulous every morning. The owners were very friendly and helpful when our phones did not work and one of our tours was cancelled. They helped us book with someone else (and we saved a lot of money too for same tour!) Everything was great!
- Colleen (6/5): Pleasant - The hammocks and the quiet back yard. Driveway was very rocky and my friend tripped as it wasn’t lit well at night.
They had no bottled/sterile water for brushing teeth which would have been nice.
We forgot to turn AC off while we went out for a quick dinner on a very hot day and they came in and turned it off! After that the host seemed very cold to us.
- Christophe (7/5): Ok - Julie is amazing, very helpful and friendly Location a bit far from everything. Nothing close by
The Wifi does not work at all in the rooms and barely works in the common areas.
- Mirte (10/5): Exceptional - Julia was really nice and kind. It was the best warm welcome in 2,5 months! The bed was really big and comfortable. The location was good. 10 minutes walk from the ferry, but really quite place to sleep well. Also close to the centre of the town, 5 minute walk. I really recommend this place! Julia even came out of bed to give us a sandwich for breakfast when we had to leave at 5am for the ferry.
- Jana (6/5): Ok if you want to stay out of town - Julie is indeed a very kind hostess. Smiling, makes nice breakfast. The hostel is ok, but remote from town, nothing around. Just a couple of barking neighbours dogs The place is lovely, but:
1) remote
2) very basic, for the same price you do get a better place
3) some big ants (the bity type) in the room
4) beautiful hammocks but no light whatsoever near so hard to use past 6pm
5) nice basic communal kitchenette to cut your fruits and nd refill water, but dirty
- Agata (7/5): Fine - The host is super nice. Internet was super weak
It is not so close to the center
Ants were everywhere
- Katja (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely accommodation, which is nicely located and quiet. Also really small, so it has a personal touch. Julie was caring and interested, we can absolutely recommend it!
- Eleonora (8/5): Not central, but well located lovely rooms - Very nice staff, lovely patio with hammocks to relax and read Internet was not working in the rooms
- Constancio (6/5): Pleasant -
- Raphael (9/5): Superb - The hotel is close to the snorkelling spot (playa concha) but still not too far from the centre. July, the host, was very nice and even made us sandwich for our way back to Santa Cruz since the ferry leaves very early. Don't expect a nice view or a big garden since its quite small. Still there are hammocks if you want to chill.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - Julie was very helpful and cooked a different, wonderful breakfast for us each day. The room was kept immaculate. .
- Bruce (10/5): Exceptional - great location, very quiet, fantastic host!
- Regina (10/5): Exceptional - Juli was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was Solid. Location was perfect for us - Not too far away from the center but still calm. Room was very Clean and got fresh towels every day! Good opportunity to wash your clothes BY yourself.
- Melika (8/5): Very good - Julie was very sweet and helpful. she kept the place tidy and spotless
- Joyce (9/5): Superb - Julie was the person making breakfasts (different every time) and helping us, and she was excellent. She made breakfast early when we needed to leave for tour early, which was helpful. The grounds had a very beautiful area with hammocks. The room was a bit small, and had no chair or table, although it had a fridge. The entrance to the property is a bit rough, making tripping an issue.
- Avery (9/5): Superb - Julie was awesome! She was so friendly, cooked wonderful breakfasts, and really made our stay.
The hotel was quiet and peaceful.
Plenty of hot water. Drinking water not provided. The hotel is well outside of town and the 15 min walk in oppressive heat carrying gallon bottles of water was not fun. Water is also very expensive when bought in smaller quantities. Charge $1-2 more per night and allow guests to refill their bottles.
- Jaroslaw (10/5): True feel of Galapagos - Big clean rooms in Isla Isabela. close to the playa Concha de perla. Hosts are amazing, if you want to feel Galapagos vibes definitely stay at this place. Great facilities, outdoor hammocks, coconuts from the hose, his music, stories about Galapagos priceless. Nothing
- Hannah (10/5): it was amazing, would go there again 12/10 - everything was great, it was very clean, room was really big, beds were comfortable, hosts were amazing & super friendly ans told us so much about the island
breakfast was delicious and we got something else every day! the kitchen is pretty small, but you’ll find everything you need for simple cooking
- Megan (10/5): Exceptionally clean and friendly - We had such a lovely stay at Cartago Bay, the hosts were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and we even got to try a traditional dish called mote which we loved! What made our stay so special though was how nice the hosts were. The property is really pretty with a lovely garden, the rooms are separate to the main house and they were spotlessly clean. We would definitely recommend Cartago Bay.
- Ellie (9/5): The owners were so lovely and kind - even preparing fresh coconut water for us! As an ex-guide it was a privilege to hea -
- Nick (10/5): Peaceful friendly retreat - Amazingly friendly couple who own the hotel and serve a lovely breakfast each morning. Peaceful and comfortable. No WiFi but nice to get away from things. Nothing
- Henry (9/5): Good value, great service, close to all, wifi nonexistent - The owners were very attentive and provided a nice breakfast each morning. Almost non existent wifi
- Bekahcarr (9/5): Superb - Lovely and quiet place to stay on Isabela - rooms were big and very comfortable, good shower with hot water!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very helpful owners wifi usually available but not strong signal
- K (10/5): - The front of the hotel is a dirt road and a tiny house, we were worried. When the incredibly nice owners took us towards the back, we walked into a nice big area with hammocks in a hut, and to the private entrance to our room which was spacious, high ceilings, fan, ac, mini fridge, and just great! The owner is a fantastic lady, who helped us with scheduling taxis and walked with us to town to show us where to dine. Town is a 10 min walk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 船着き場からも比較的近く、お洒落な庭とホスピタリティ溢れるオーナー夫婦が本当に素敵でした。場所が少し分かりづらいですが、イザベラ島に泊まるならこちらをオススメします。
- Verified traveler (2/5): Pas de carte de credit. Pas de wifi. Hotes abusifs - Sejour annulé du à l'attitude d' abord défensive ensuite aggressive des hôtes
