• Marine (10/5): Un havre de paix - Tout est fidèle aux photos. La chambre est spacieuse et très confortable. Le riad est décoré avec goût et ses multiples terrasses le rendent joliment atypique. Le petit déjeuner était copieux et très bon. Nous avons pu profiter du jacuzzi et d’un massage de qualité. Le personnel s’est montré accueillant et disponible. Il faut traverser la médina pour arriver jusqu’au riad ce qui n’est pas très pratique avec les valises mais le riad propose les services d’une charette pour 30dh qui vous attend dès votre arrivée à essaouira, il n’y a qu'à se laisser guider par le monsieur.

Rooms are specious, service is great. The staff are amazing, ready to help at any point of time. Breakfast had limited options but good in taste. On my request they agreed for an early breakfast than their usual time. Nothing specific, everything was great. Just thought break could have more variety.

There was a jacuzzi that guests use privately for one hour sessions free of charge. The staff was very helpful and gracious. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace excellent. The fresh pressed orange juice...delicious! My bed was hard.

• Sue (10/5): A beautiful place to stay - What a stunning riad! The location was fantastic - in the medina but still quiet and peaceful with everything within walking distance. Our room was cosy and comfortable - we had a great night sleep. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely - such a great place to start the day. Great food and really attentive people. We ate dinner at the Riad’s pasta restaurant and the food and service there were also very good. We had a lovely welcome from Asma and Felix and felt right at home in this very special riad. It couldn’t have been better.

• Stanislav (1/5): Enttäuschender Aufenthalt mit erheblichen Mängeln, schlechter Kommunikation und unnötigem Stress, der den Preis in keine - Die Lage des Riads war grundsätzlich gut und die Unterkunft an sich hat Potenzial. Leider konnten wir die positiven Aspekte aufgrund der Probleme vor Ort kaum genießen. Nach dem Check-in mussten wir feststellen, dass sich zahlreiche kleine Tiere an der Decke befanden und zusätzlich Motten im Zimmer herumflogen. Unter diesen Umständen war es für uns nicht möglich, dort zu schlafen. Wir haben dies sofort gemeldet, jedoch wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass dies „fast normal“ sei und erst am nächsten Tag etwas unternommen werden könne. Ein Zimmerwechsel war zunächst nicht möglich, da angeblich alles ausgebucht war. Da es bereits Abend war, hatten wir keine realistische Möglichkeit, eine andere Unterkunft zu finden, und mussten bleiben. Wir konnten die Fenster nicht öffnen, obwohl es sehr warm war, und es gab keine Klimaanlage. Am nächsten Tag war das Problem weiterhin nicht behoben. Erst nach erneutem Nachfragen wurde uns ein anderes Zimmer angeboten – jedoch mit getrennten Betten statt des gebuchten Doppelbetts. Besonders enttäuschend war die mangelnde Kommunikation und Transparenz. Wären wir von Anfang an ehrlich über das Problem informiert worden, hätten wir uns anders entscheiden können und uns viel Stress erspart.

• Fikri (10/5): Ein absolut fantastischer Aufenthalt im Riad Baladin in Essaouira mit perfekter Lage, herzlichem Gastgeber, wunderschöne - Unser Aufenthalt in Essaouira im Riad Baladin war einfach absolut fantastisch. Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir von Felix unglaublich herzlich empfangen und haben uns sofort wie zuhause gefühlt. Der angenehme Duft im Riad und der ruhige, perfekt organisierte Check-in haben direkt für eine besondere Wohlfühlatmosphäre gesorgt. Besonders schön war auch, dass wir uns nach kurzer Zeit auf Deutsch unterhalten konnten. Die Lage des Riads ist einfach perfekt, besser könnte sie wirklich nicht sein. Unser Zimmer „Canele“ war sehr geräumig, stilvoll eingerichtet und auch das Badezimmer war angenehm groß. Der Duft im Zimmer durch die Duftöle war so schön, dass wir uns diese später sogar für zuhause nachgekauft haben. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Auch das Internet war extrem schnell und hat unsere Erwartungen mehr als übertroffen. Insgesamt ein unvergesslich schöner Aufenthalt mit einem großartigen Gastgeber, der uns mit seinen Tipps den Urlaub noch schöner gemacht hat. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

• AustinMitch (10/5): The Best Baladin - Spending two nights here was well worth it as it's at the end of a quiet alley in the pedestrian only Medina. It's only a few hundred feet from the historical rampart and right by many shops and restaurants. I had to catch the Supratours bus at 9:00 am so I requested an early breakfast the day before. Seeing that Felix had my breakfast all ready at 8:00 defintely made my day!

The night crew and Felix especially helped us troubleshoot through a shaky start to our trip, with canceled flights, transportation, and getting us to the Riad. Extremely helpful in providing recommendations, very delicious breakfasts, and an amazing vibe. Their cat Simba was equally lovely. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. - Super Lage, direkt innerhalb der Stadtmauer um die Altstadt, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, marokkanisch-afrikanischer Mix, herrlich verwinkelt mit mehreren verschachtelten Dachterrassen, da der Riad aus ursprünglich drei einzelnen Häusern besteht. The location is perfect, right in the heart of everything. The riad is beautifully and tastefully decorated, and the breakfast each morning was fresh, very tasty and really enjoyable. Nothing significant – the only small point is that the bed was a little on the firm side for my preference, but it didn’t take away from an otherwise excellent stay.

• Melissa (10/5): Beau séjour - Nous sommes impressionnés par l’établissement. Tous les salles sont propres et belles. Extrêmement pittoresques. Le personnel est super chaleureux et a même suggéré de nous accompagné à 3h du matin pour faire certain que notre chauffeur nous ramasse. Aucun souci à Riad Baladin. La durée. 2 nuits n’est pas assez pour ce beau Riad.
• Jane (10/5): Freundliche Oase in der Altstadt - Die Lage mitten in der Medina, völlig ruhig, der Charme der verwinkelten drei hell und freundlich eingerichteten Häuser, die zusammen das Riad bilden, die vielen tollen Terrassen und last but not least die Menschen. Wir haben gute Tipps bekommen, Ausflüge wurden für uns unkompliziert organisiert und, da wir viel zu früh abfahren mussten, gab es sogar ein (very) Early Bird Frühstück für uns. Wir hatten herrlich entspannende Tage dort.
• Emma (9/5): Zou hier graag terugkomen. - Wat me het meeste bijblijft is het fantastische personeel (van de man die ons ontving, de dames van het ontbijt, tot de manager Felix) en heerlijk ontbijt. De kamers en riad zijn mooi en er is veel opbergruimte. Fijn om nog eens echte service te mogen ontvangen. De jacuzzi werkte niet zo goed en was wat koud. Het had ook zalig geweest mochten we boven in de zon kunnen ontbijten. Kleine dingen dus.
• Ivo Daskalov (10/5): Amazing stay! Lovely place! - Great location, great rooftop, amazing breakfast, amazing interior. Cozy rooms with comfy beds. Housekeeping daily. What made our stay remarkable were the great staff members, who took care of everything we needed. Keep up the great work, Marwa, Asma, Ali and Felix! Nothing to dislike in particular. Due to the strong winds there was often sand piling up in front of our room door. Could be a good idea to have some sort of a broom in the room to clean this.

• sarah (8/5): Fabulous comfortable Riad - A lovely Riad in the heart of the medina. Close to everything but tucked away that it was quiet at night. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. We went in March so it was cold at night and very windy. They provided a heater which was very much needed. The bed was hard but they provided a mattress topper so we were more than comfortable. Malwa and Felix were very helpful. Liked the roof terrace and hot tub We stayed a week and the breakfast was excellent but the same every morning? But fresh and very tasty just could have maybe changing it a bit or offer alternative.

L’unico piccolo suggerimento riguarda le tende: renderei le stanze meglio oscurate per garantire meno luce e più privacy.
• Dominique (10/5): - Superbe riad décoré avec un goût exceptionnel, situé au fond d'une impasse en plein centre de la médina , ce qui explique le calme de cet endroit. .Le personnel est vraiment charmant et à l'écoute de nos besoins. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent ! On peut se détendre dans le spa ou se faire masser ..... Bref, tout est très agréable et nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir si l'occasion se présente.

• Nona (6/5): An adventure with stash of style. - It’s a unique experience to live in such a stylish room and building. The breakfast service was really good and also the food served. The staff are extremely friendly. The bathroom is beautiful! The style of beddings, too. There were no cabinets but like wall shelves, deep holes where one can put things. It’s an adventurous furnishings. The stairs were very high and we had the terrace room, holding on ropes accommodate us well in climbing go upstairs.. maybe for very young people that would better suit. I understand the purpose, but not so practical. Being in Morocco, it seems the house was really meant for summer holidays.
• Julia (9/5): Klein aber fein - Die Unterkunft ist gut gelegen, direkt in der Medina und in der Nähe der Skala, es gibt sehr leckeres authentisch marokkanisches Frühstück und sie wird von sehr freundlichem Personal geführt, die einem gerne Tips für Sehenswertes in Stadt geben. Da wir im Februar hier waren und es abends noch recht frisch wird, haben wir uns besonders über die Heizung im Zimmer gefreut. Die Dusche in unserem Zimmer könnte etwas erneute Zuwendung gebrauchen, da die Feuchtigkeit dort in den Putz eingedrungen ist, der sich nun teilweise langsam ablöst. Das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau und wir haben uns sonst dort sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jeder Zeit wieder kommen.

• Jennifer (7/5): - It is a beautiful Riad but quite impractical in many ways. Our room was not very comfortable for 3 - 1 person having to climb over another to go to the loo in the night!, very dark and not well lit, nowhere to dry towels at all and shockingly for us, 3 days with no towel change so using damp over-used and un-dried towels became quite unpleasant by day 3. Jacuzzi was nice - especially when the people working there actually prepared it for our use but on day 1 we were left to our own devices. Breakfast good, but no Amlou was a real disappointment and a first in 6 trips to Morocco. Some staff were very helpful and friendly, others were quite scary. It was always difficult to actually locate staff as well - the place seemed to be totally empty of staff much of the time. The contact pre-holiday had been really good and we had felt that we were going to a very friendly client-based Riad when in actual fact we didn't even meet the people we THOUGHT we had been communicating with all of that time! Disappointing that an activity booked long before our stay just didn't even happen - Cooking Class at Chez Les Frères - we turned up at the hour organised weeks beforehand and reiterated several times, to be greeted by a very unfriendly waitress who put us on the phone to a man who just lied through his teeth to us. Very disappointing that wet and used towels weren't changed once in 3 days (being used morning and night). Disappointing that breakfast was identical all 3 days (a first in our stays in Morocco) and didn't include 'staple' favorites like Amlou. Disappointing that the room was very impractical to stay in. No bedside tables, no lights able to be turned on or off from beds. Quite crowded. Limited storage space. Very hard bed. No bedhead so impossible to sit up in bed to read or do anything. Disappointing welcome (not very welcoming!). Lack of focal area to locate staff/help etc should it be necessary. No time to tell us anything on our arrival (she was just yoo busy doing something else apparently?) or at any other point. Felt quite ignored tbh.

• Jason (10/5): - Our stay at the Riad was exceptional. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt welcomed and looked after. It is a lovely place to spend a few days relaxing with fabulous staff, led by Felix, and extremely comfortable room and, above all, a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was very good and plentiful, our room was both individual and comfortable and the location was perfect. We could not have wished for anything better and will certainly go back there if we return to Essaouira - which we intend to. It was just a great and very memorable few days and we didn't want to leave. Nothing. It was exactly what we wanted and expected.

• Lesley (10/5): - This was by far our favorite Riad, and city in Morocco. Our hosts were so hospitable, catering in every way. Our favorite was the breakfast and the hot tub. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart! We can't wait to come back with our kids next time. Essaouira you'll be in my heart forever. The people, the smells, the sights, what a beautiful place. Everything was perfect.

• Leonie (10/5): Amazing staff, location, room: the perfect getaway within the medina - We absolutely loved our stay at Riad Baladin! It is a peaceful getaway within the medina of Essaouria. The staff (Felix, Ahmed, and everyone we met) is very supportive, helpful, and friendly. From breakfast to the nice gestures in helping us find our way in the 'hamam world', we really appreciated their help. The rooms are nicely decorated and cosy, and everything we needed was there.
