• Thulasi (1/5): Extremly dissapointed with the stay. Poorly managed hotel where guests doesnt feel comfirmtable and welcomed at all - Beautiful hotel. From the time we checked in we were complaining no hot water however after 1 day only they turned the hotwater on. Ordered tea through room service never received the tea like wise requested additional duvet which never arrived. . No proper food menu available even when we were willing to pay. Property is not maintained at all. Toilets were not cleaned despite of requests, room not cleaned and Cob webs all around the hotel after we pointed out they tried to clean. Staff had lack of energy and no enthusiasm. No proper welcome when we arrived. Only positive is that the reception staff Mr Ajith and the lady staff at the reception ( forgot to ask her name) considered our requests for early check in and late check out and upgraded our room. Extremely sad to see such a wonderfully built beautiful hotel doesn’t take any efforts to make the guests come back again

• Thilini (3/5): Not a great stay - WATCH OUT - They had big rooms where the living room was seperate to the bedroom. They also had 2 bathrooms which is unnecessary. The carpets on the floor were dirty and had not been steam cleaned or even vaccumed before we came The bedsheets had minor stains The balcony was dirty and had not been scrubbed for a while The worst of all the shower was broken when we came and had a build up of white water residue so water was not coming out properly. We got the shower heads changed however there was no hot water. We had to ask repeatedly 3 times to get hot water. When we got hot water it was only boiling hot, there was no balance. While having a hot shower the water would suddenly turn cold. When we entered the room there was a pungent smell coming from the bathroom. This smell was through out the building too. They did not fix this at all. The smell was so bad we regreted out stay here. They charged us $150 AUD for a hotek that may look good from the exterior but the rooms were so bad. They should be rated at 3 star hotel. The room service did not leave any towels after cleaning and no water bottles The rooms had TVs but no remotes. They didnt have an iron and alot of the basic facilities were not provided.

• Rajashree (9/5): Mountain gem. - I was so surprised to find this old school style of grand hotel in the middle of the mountains of Matale. Quiet and surrounded by nature, it was perfect for serene getaway. The birds in caged enclosure although large and spacious, animals are not meant for captivity.

• Nadee (6/5): It was not good at all. - Nothing Our first day there, there wasn’t enough food for us to select from during breakfast and this was heavily disappointing as we had paid for the breakfast meals with our stay. The rooms were dirty and the beds were uncomfortable to sleep on. The staff would keep plates outside of the rooms in the hotels and it had rotted causing a stench in the corridor. They had left tea stains in the bathroom sink as they had used the sink to clean the cups they provide.

• Tharaka (7/5): Good, facilities are excellent. But staff is not supportive and friendly - Breakfast was normal, not that much special. We got dinner as an extra meal. When we asked the price, they said that 4000 LKR per person. But when paying the bill they had charged 4500 LKR per person. It was disappointing. It doesn't matter if they said 4500 first. But saying one, and charging extra is not nice Staff is not friendly and not supportive. Not pleasant.

Upon arrival just 20 mins after booking, the manager checked us in in quite fast Rooms were spacious and had good mountain view Breakfast is continental, but portions are good Swimming pool looked good, however we didn't try because of the weather Be very careful with the reservation price!!! They tried to charge me 2x of the amount of my reservation on Booking using different excuses: 1. Pretending my rate was for one night (when it clearly said "total for 2 nights") 2. Claiming there's an alleged 100% tax on the room price I had to spend 1 hour of precious time to explain over and over that upon arrival, I sent the confirmation from booking.com to the manager and they accepted it, so that's the price I'll pay and not a cent more I advice everybody to pay UPFRONT upon check-in, not to wait for the check-out when they try to ovecharge you

• Dennis & Manon (10/5): Super hotel - Op het laatste moment geboekt om de politieke onrust in Kandy te vermijden, en het was een schot in de roos. Geweldig nieuw hotel, super vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk eten. Sfeer ontbreekt wel een beetje, waarschijnlijk door de nieuwigheid, en het is een beetje buiten de stad, maar met een tuktuk ben je daar zo Met Sigiriya op twee uurtjes rijden, de ideale uitvalsbasis om daarna richting het zuiden te gaan. Kandy is een uurtje.
