• Oksana (7/5): - The apartment was clean overall. The location and general setup are suitable for group stays, and communication during check-in was manageable. The experience didn’t fully match the listing. It was advertised as having 5 bathrooms, but in reality there are only 3 bathrooms with showers plus one extra toilet. The apartment feels quite outdated. The furniture is old and doesn’t match the interior well, and some rooms clearly need renovation — for example, worn bed frames and damaged walls. Although it is listed for up to 8 guests, the space doesn’t feel designed for that number. The terrace, for example, has a small table with only 4 seats. The pool is misleading. It is shown in the main photos, but it’s not part of the apartment — it’s located separately, not visible from the property, and only accessible to permanent residents. As temporary guests, we couldn’t use it.

Highly recommended. - Enormous apartment, tastefully furnished, well-equipped kitchen, huge terrace balcony with wonderful views, quiet location, short walk to town centre. Underground parking. We stayed 8 days and the apartment was serviced midweek and clean linen and towels provided.

• Sindri (9/5): - Spacious and beautiful apartment with good facilities, nice view, and convenient location. Our family enjoyed staying there and we were overall very satisfied with the accommodation. The wood on the balcony has deteriorated and it’s no longer possible to walk there safely barefoot. I would not recommend to have small children there in its current condition. We at least had to stop letting the kids play there because they kept getting splinters (e.g. at one time our oldest had 9 splinters in her hands) — everyone did get splinters young and old. Something to look into - as the balcony is at great place to spend time at, fsntastic view and a lot of space.

• Barry (8/5): Lovely apartment - Monica met us on time when we arrived, showed us around then provided a key to the access gate. She called later in the week to arrange check out - all very relaxed and professional. We parked in a dedicated space in the underground parking lot then caught the lift to the 3rd floor, very easy. The apartment was exactly as shown on the photographs on booking.com - a beautiful, spacious, modern, well furnished apartment over 2 floors with lovely views from the big balcony which was a short walk to the centre of Funchal (about 15 mins). The spacious open plan lounge & dining area had comfortable sofas and a big table with a spectacular staircase in the middle, the contemporary kitchen was also large with lots of storage space (however both the kettle and toaster needed to be replaced). Upstairs there were big bedrooms (the master was huge with a separate dressing area) with masses of storage space and large comfortable beds. The generous bathrooms also had plenty hot water and good showers. There was a strong wi-fi signal throughout with extenders in most rooms. The balcony was a lovely place to sit with superb views both night and day, a shame that a new hotel has obscured the view of the harbour. I would be more than happy to live somewhere as luxurious as this. The location was ideal with only a 15 minute walk to the cathedral and a supermarket, it took about 25 minutes to get to the old town and the cable car station. As we were staying in January we didn't use the outdoor pool and, due to the low sun, it was mainly in the shade anyway. Despite the above we did have some issues which might mean we would not book it again. The description suggests that there is access to a 'solarium' which includes a hot tub, when we went to look at it and were shown a poster by someone using the gym which states that this area is not available to guests, only residents. So no access for us to the hot tub, indoor pool or gym. The description states that it is soundproof but the resident below came round at 23:05 to complain we were talking and it was stopping him sleeping so we should go to bed! This was normal level talking with no music or TV. He repeated this 3 days later at 23:10.
• Matacz (10/5): Great stay in an amazing place - Amazing apartment with a great view. Very good location - close to city center and at the same time in quiet neighbourhood. Everything was great! Monica, the housekeeper was very helpful. I wish the air-conditioning was in all the bedrooms. It was available in one of them and on livingroom only.
• Jon (10/5): Really enjoyable stay in a luxury apartment , wouldn’t hesitate to use again - Very smart and clean property, lovely views, convenient location close to the town centre, parking space provided in underground car park, felt very safe and comfortable The only minor was no aircon in 3 of the bedrooms but fans were provided.
• Linda (7/5): Good - It is a beautiful apartment. Very spacious, especially the main en-suite and the living area. The balcony was a winner. Spacious with a beautiful view over the city and you can see a bit of the ocean. We found a shortcut, so walking into town was easy, despite the gradient. Only the main bedroom has an aircon. The other three bedrooms get very hot and our children had a difficult time sleeping. The open widows didn't help. Only let the mosquitoes in. We only received clean towels midweek staying there, no cleaning. I would suggest at least one cleaning session, even if only the bathrooms. Washing facilities were available, but the lines hung full of washed towels, presumably from previous guests and the ours after the swop. Also, a lot of people fly in on Easyjet with only small luggage and toiletries such as body lotion, shampoo, and more than one small soap would be welcome.
• Jo (9/5): Superb - Amazing view from the balcony along with looking out of the living room. Air con in main living room and 1 bedroom. Cleaner was great, met us at 2am as our flight was delayed and came in to clean mid week too. Could only use the outdoor pool, which is a short walk from villa. No use of the gym or indoor pool. Could use air con in other bedrooms as it gets very stuffy.
• Bolton (10/5): Beautiful Villa in Funchal - Beautiful villa with amazing views. Very comfy and clean. Great parking spaces for our minivan. Easy to walk into Funchal, about 25 mins. Very spacious villa with air con. Really happy stay. Maybe a few more kitchen utensils and cleaning wipes for kitchen

• Inna (7/5): it’s a nice spacious apartment. we enjoyed our stay but I’m not sure that I would pick it again. - it was spacious and we liked the location. the kitchen could have had more dishes and cooking stuff. it would have been nice to have soap/shampoo in the bathrooms. also we were there on a very hot week (mid 80s) and the ac downstairs works but not that well and the upstairs 3 bedrooms without ac got really hot. the only room that was great was the master.

Very comfortable beds. terrific views and walking distance into Funchal. kitchen equipment basic if you plan to cook and extractor unit over hob lethal if taller than ~5 foot 8 inches as likely to crack head on the corner.

• Jennifer (9/5): A gorgeous spot for a relaxing holiday with friends or family. - A beautiful space with lovely views in all directions. Lots of room for everyone, and the balcony was probably our favorite part. Relatively easy walk into the center of town and to lots of restaurants. The only problem we had was that the wifi was patchy and didn't reach the bedrooms. Also, it wasn't a problem for us, but the location would be harder for mobility impaired people, with the hills and small sidewalks.

• Carol (8/5): Beautiful large apartment close to town centre ideal for a group of friends - it is a beautiful large apartment in a good location for Funchal centre. The large verandah was fantastic and we spend most early mornings and late evenings there. the beds were comfortable and the apartment was clean and well maintained. the 3 bedrooms without air conditioning were warm at night but opening the windows made it noisy (dogs barking) and let in mosquitos. a portable air conditioning unit would be a good addition.

Wouldn't stay again especially due to the air con issue. - Location was good and the host arranged for the keys to be delivered when we arrived after a delayed flight. Great apartment with modern styling. Amazing views from the balcony. Lots of space for two families. There was a lot of wasted space in the apartment which could have been better used. This was not a problem in itself but I think the place could be much better with a few extra touches. There were limited cups and glasses for 8 people and we could have done with more really. Our main gripe was that the air conditioning wasn't working in the apartment. We were not told about this until we arrived and it meant the apartment was extremely hot, particularly at night. The master suite had it's own aircon so one couple were fine. Most nights some of the children had to sleep downstairs with the patio doors open as it was too hot in the bedrooms. This resulted in them getting bitten by insects. We eventually got some fans from the host midway through the holiday as they could not get the aircon repaired. This improved the situation but as we'd paid for an air conditioned apartment we asked for a partial refund several times but this was refused. The host said it was not advertised as fully air conditioned and as such he wouldn't refund any of our money. I think as the apartment was advertised as air conditioned and it was not working in the main apartment he should have conceeded that we didn't get what we'd paid for. A very poor show on his part. In addition the road where the apartment is accessed is regularly very noisy with people shouting early in the morning or continuously peeping horns and police being called to disturbances. There seems to be some sort of criminal activity taking place at the end of the road but we couldn't work out what it was. We've been to Madeira 6 times, usually in hotels it has to be said. For the money we spent on the apartment it was a shame that a few resolvable issues put a bit of a dampener on the stay. The pool is quite small but as I say we are used to staying in hotels.

• Ann (8/5): - Fantastic spacious apartment with fabulous views of Funchal. Lovely big terrace area and easy walking access to the town, we stayed with four friends and ate in on 3 evenings. The only real problem was the lack of equipment in the kitchen which could easily be remedied by providing simple things like a grater, peeler, oven proof dish and some extra glasses and mugs. Three mugs between 6 people is not great! Overall we had a great time and the apartment was beautiful.
