- Leticia (6/5): - There are several things to like and several things to hate about this hotel. The location and ambience are wonderful but you should be forewarned about the property. It is four stories with no elevator. The wood floors throughout can be a bit noisy with wheeled luggage banging up and down the stairs. Two of the four restaurants are permanently closed which is not reflected on the description. Only the Thai restaurant and bar downstairs are open. Wonderful market right across the street to buy groceries and food. The description also indicates a twin futon in our Deluxe Bedroom Suite. Make no mistake it’s just a couch not a futon. Our main concern for fellow travelers was the bathroom. I’m 5ft and if I sit on the toilet in the closet sized bathroom my knees hit the door. A gentleman over 6ft would have to keep the door open and there is no bedroom door. No free water bottles were offered per listing. We arrived to find strange blue ice cubes in our freezer which we quickly disposed of. Could not get the oven to work. An internal fan ran in the middle of the building all hours and with all the wood floors the rooms are not sound proof. It’s a quirky vintage hotel with a lot of character my biggest complaint was banking on things that were listed and not available.

I wasn't aware there was no elevator so after a few rounds of three flights of stairs my legs were shaking but I got my steps in! Check in was so simple and easy, I loved it! Quiet and comfortable. We will definitely be coming back!
- Julie (6/5): - We have the same complaint as others, we drove 4 hours after a last minute booking to find we required additional check in (outside the app), a deposit and costly parking reservation to receive the codes at a contact-less hotel. The email arrived as we pulled into the location. There is no one physical to talk to even by phone - to help expedite this, so we did our online check in, paid the deposit - somehow linked to my bank - which I did not like and paid for parking but had to wait another 2 hours for the parking code. Kinda sucked sitting in my car at some parking lot down the street after such a drive trying to resolve. Never had this issue before.
- TJ (2/5): - BED BUGS!! 3rd time I’ve stayed here, as a former Long Beach resident, when I go back for random weekends, this WAS my spot! NEVER AGAIN! I rented out one of the Penthouses and was super excited, this location is pretty perfect, as it sits right above my favorite bar, The Blind Donkey. Unfortunately, this experience was awful. My friend came over on the second night and she pointed out how itchy she was. We woke up the next day and noticed all over the white sheets, in the master bedroom, were numerous BED BUGS! It was so disgusting, I couldn’t believe it. She took about 20 pics, and there were at least 10 different bugs on the sheets and surrounding areas in the bedroom! I washed all my clothes and still had the BED BUGS in my sweat pants I wore that night & then they transferred to all my other clothes in my suitcase and they came home with me, yay 😤 I checked out on Monday after 3 days, and went to work. I was slammed all day & on Tuesday. I contacted the manager of the hotel Wednesday morning on my way to work, explaining the BED BUGS & showing pictures of them. Here was the response I received “Unfortunately this reservation had passed several days ago and there were no reported incidents during your stay. If the incident was reported during your stay, we would be happy to give you a room transfer.” Are you kidding me?! Never again will I ever stay here again. I don’t recommend anybody stay here, unless you want to have to soak all of your stuff in vinegar 😤
- lisavB1756DA (8/5): Would recommend - Less hotel more apartment Airbnb. I had no issues with accessing my room despite the no front desk. As long as you read your original email and follow the directions you are good. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and within a short walking distance to the convention center. Restaurants nearby that were very good (district wine and crème de La crepe were delicious!)

- N5704FJ_ (2/5): Would never book if Booking.com provided the correct info in description section - It was a last-minute booking before flying out to Long Beach. Advised need to leave our luggage so we could look around. I got a message asking us to go check-in their page. Little did I know to request a simple luggage storage service that a normal hotel is free of charge. This hotel would like to charge us USD 85. I thought there must be a glatch and once we received the room code in LA we made our way to the hotel. After carrying all our luggage up 3 steep stairs without an elevator. We then realized the code wasn’t working and we did not have US sim, internet, or working room code to leave our luggage anywhere. We ended up sitting in the hotel reception area for almost 5 hours and saw hotel staff walk past by but NO ONE ASKED NOR TRIED TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. In the meantime, I was trying to talk to someone from the hotel via Booking.com who kept going into an endless circle about you did not submit online / submit online paid your $85 US then we can talk about that. If all the extra charge was clearly stated in the Booking.com hotel description, I had no issue with the fee. Unfortunately, the info on booking.com wasn't clear. The only reason we stayed for the night was due to the time difference I couldn't get in contact with my credit card. Overall the hotel stay is OK besides all the drama. The bed was comfortable but not stable. Airon was on but never cold. This hotel won't suit anyone with large / lots of luggage, family, or seniors as the stairs are way too steep, and no elevator or help from anyone. Make sure you only stay between 4 pm to 11 am check-out or you will face crazy fees ($35 for parking and $85 for early check-in or $85 for luggage storage). Seriously, the $85 luggage storage fee is a joke when other hotels, hostels or even Airbnb won't charge the amount if the room is available. Don't get me wrong more than half of the hotel was empty including the room I booked.
- Renee (4/5): - I will preface this review by stating that we enjoyed our stay at the Broadline last year. This year was horrible. We were in town for work and had to get to sleep early to be up early. There is a club in the basement of the building playing music until 2am each night. The noise could be heard and felt each night. We had to wear ear plugs to drown it out. Parking was a nightmare. We had to pay a lot extra for two parking spots, which is expected but getting our vehicle into the space they gave us was a nightmare. We had two cars, one of which was a larger vehicle. The space they gave us to park was impossible to get into with the vehicle we had, We asked for another spot but was refused stating that the empty spots were for monthly tenants. There is no one to speak to. You have to txt a number. All communication is done via txt and emails. Don't expect to be able to talk to a human being. Really bummed out that the experience this year was as bad as it was.

Initially, I made a reservation in error due to Expedia’s listing, which hid the final price until the very end of the transaction. This left me feeling blindsided and frustrated. Upon realizing the mistake mere moments after making the reservation, I promptly contacted the hotel in hopes of getting a refund. The situation was further complicated by Expedia's policy, which required the hotel's consent for any refund processing. Despite my repeated pleas for assistance, the hotel displayed a shocking lack of empathy and customer service. Instead of recognizing the genuine error and rectifying it, they stubbornly held onto their rigid stance. This hotel, located in a quiet area and lacking the amenities one might expect from a 5-star establishment, seems to prioritize cost-cutting above all else. The hotel's refusal to refund due to a website error caused both financial distress and emotional devastation for a student. I strongly caution against trusting this hotel due to their lack of transparency, empathy, and customer service. Sharing my experience is meant to protect others from similar situations. I do not think this is a business which prioritizes ethics or customer satisfaction.

- T (2/5): - If you like cockroaches, stay here! I ignored the other bad reviews and regretted it. Within a few hours my room was crawling with disgusting ROACHES (I took photo's despite the fact I am terrified of them). Door to my room was BROKEN and wouldn't close (I was travelling alone = security risk). Also tried to use the GAS stove and the KNOB FELL OFF (a fire hazard). I checked out a few hours after checking in. Hotel never responded to my frantic text messages. They will respond to this review saying they care deeply - yet they still have NEVER contacted me about my terrible experience. I am still fighting for a refund from Expedia - even after sending photos of the roaches and the broken door. PLEASE - there are lots of nice hotels in the area - choose somewhere else.

- mareicshkab (2/5): Contactless Self CheckIn Couldn't Get into Room - I reserved the stay for 1 day prior to my cruise. I received the confirmation email and room#206 the access code didn't work the panel would light green then a few seconds later turn red I texted and called the number given #833-782-9522 and received no response. After a few hours I made new arrangements and stayed at Staybridge Suites. Received an email when I got back from cruise asking how was my stay. I've filled a dispute with my credit card company and letting social media do the rest in regards to Broadlind Hotel.
- Manuel (6/5): Okay - The room was nice but the bathroom is tiny and the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. You could hear the music from the bar downstairs but it wasn’t loud enough to not let us sleep. We did get woken up by a screaming baby upstairs and pounding footsteps.

- Jamie (10/5): Old but perfect - Loved Loved Loved this hotel. The check in process was simple as long as you follow the directions. I forgot to pay for parking so I added it when I got there. $20 for the night and it was gated and it had access from the parking structure straight to my room. Our room was spotless and so cute. The hotel is old but I thought it was perfect. It did have a small kitchen and a fridge. The walls were thin and we could hear everything but it did not affect us at all. It is located right in the middle of a ton of restaurants and coffee shops. You can walk everywhere. There is a bar downstairs so keep that in mind. The manager was very nice and accommodated us with the parking at the last minute. We loved the old windows and had them open the entire time we were there. This does not have an elevator so keep that in mind as we walked three floors each time. The tile in the bathroom was cracked and old however that did not bother us as everything worked. We will absolutely stay here again. The only complaint I would have it you are given a parking number to park in or you will be towed however I could not see the numbers when I parked so I parked in another spot not realizing they had numbers. I went to move my car in the morning and someone was parked in my spot. This hotel is quaint and located in a great area and I felt safe the entire time.

- Ashley (6/5): - Pros: I liked my cute little room, which felt like a tiny studio apartment. I found the check-in process to be really easy, despite what the reviews said. Just follow instructions! It was also very walkable and the Thai restaurant downstairs gives you a discount if you're staying at the hotel! Cons: I knew it was coming because of the reviews, but the noise from the bars downstairs was super loud. I brought ear plugs in preparation, but on Friday and Saturdays it's pretty nuts. I stayed 5 nights and those were the loudest nights. I also got a monster spider bite that required me to go to urgent care. I can't blame the hotel for this because spiders exist in the world, but I woke up the second day with it and it just grew from there. I can't help but feel a little sneezed out by it. Another thing that made me uneasy is that there's no locks on the door other than the main key card lock. No deadbolts, chain locks, etc. I'm sure it's fine, but I'm used to being able to lock the door from the inside in a hotel. They do charge a lot for parking, which I didn't know, but it's probably worth it for drivers because it's super hard to park on the street.

We could not get into the parking without first going to the room to get the parking info, which was vague. No space number was assigned at all. So they shouldn’t really charge for that since it is a hassle!

I had to find street parking, in the rain, go up to the room only to find no info on parking lot access! The building is charming the room is cute but tiny and location is nice. There is a cute bar in the basement and a wine bar next door with live jazz.

WHEN THEY FINALLY DID EXCEPT MY INFORMATION IT ALREADY WAS PAST MID NIGHT I HAD TO FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO STAY. I ASKED COULD THEY HONOR my reservation for the next day being that I did not staying they still never said anything. There is no one that ever actually contacts you promptly and when they do answer emails it be hours in between. I was really excited about staying at this historical hotel it looked really nice online yet it is to damn complicated to get in. I say stay away run the other way!

Finally had to go to another hotel at midnight to get a room. What a disappointment as I was excited to check this place out.

It is just not convenient, has no amenities, the check in process and parking situation are inconvenient, you can’t sit on the toilet and actually close the bathroom door, etc etc. Rooms are big and clean though, but mine smelled like vomit.
- Cristina (8/5): - The property itself is lovely, getting into the property was a horrendous and frustrating experience. The hotel requires a check in form to access a door code and room code. The form is buggy, and doesn’t work well on a mobile device. I didn’t have a laptop (on vacation!) and had to keep trying the form about ten times for it to work. The property manager kept saying there was nothing she could do and I should keep emailing the help desk. The help desk phone number was unavailable. Finally I was able to communicate via Expedia, with what seemed like a boy. I’m all for automation and the use of technology to expedite things but this process is ineffective and infuriating. We noticed others having similar experiences while checking in. I hope that something will be done to help future patrons have a more streamlined experience.
- Lisa (6/5): - Loved the location and convenience to the convention center. I also appreciated the gated, easy parking, and the spacious unit. However, it had an odor, the beds were very uncomfortable, the fridge didnt have ice and water connected, and there isnt an elevator in the bldg.

There is absolutely no communication, you cannot speak with a human. There is no front desk if you have any issues. It is a complete lie about the breakfast voucher, there is no breakfast, and the excuse they used was the pandemic which has been over with for years. Every time I sat on the bed it felt like it was gonna break. There’s a bar underneath the hotel which is very loud. You have to pay for parking and they won’t let you stay past 11 or they. Threaten to tell your car. Very unhappy with this place.

I completed their check-in form online, but never received any info on how to get into the hotel. When I arrived, the door was locked and there was nobody on-site to assist me. I called the phone number listed on the door, but it went straight to VM. I left a message but never received a call back. I texted the number on the door and they told me to resubmit the form, which I did several times, but still did not receive any info on how to check in. So I ultimately had to walk around downtown Long Beach with all of my luggage to try to find another hotel.

It’s an OLD building and the back of tavern so o didn’t expect much of the building to start but the actual apartment is cute, clean and we had a great weekend. My family got perfect and the morning I spelt in my (almost grown) kids got up early and walked to the beach then rode scooters back up. There’s a bunch of cute dining options around and a vegan place right around the corner which was perfect for us! I literally have no complaints. I didn’t hear any noise from the bar or outside at night.

(Sure there were grumbles when we had to carry our luggage up the stairs but that was all clearly listed in the description before booking so no surprises there!) We opted not to rent a car as we were only staying one night but loved the scooter rentals we found along the street which gave us easy access to additional shopping and dining. Our hotel/apartment space was rather warm and AC didn’t seem to do much for cooling but would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend for travelers looking for a fun/unique experience!
- Osbaldo (6/5): - Very hard to communicate with this hotel by phone or text. Stairs only, very narrow and steep. Only stayed the night, so bed was comfortable, bathroom very, very small, tight squeeze to get in tub.
- Christopher (10/5): Beautifull - Beautiful property. It has self-check in with key code was great. However, getting the codes was intimidating. I received an email that I needed to fill out an info form and it would need to be approve to get the codes if I was not approved I was told I would lose all my prepaid money. No refunds. I was surprised by this and it was upsetting as I have not had this type of experience before.
- Arneisha (10/5): - Very homie, super close to the beach and restaurants. Definitely will be returning in the near future.
- Timothy (6/5): - Room was lovely (on top floor with no lift) but the check in process is clunky.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Very loud construction going on at 8 am, they were building some sort of metal patio so a lot of metal banging, saws, jackhammering directly under the window by my bead. Not a pleasant thing to be woken up by especially when trying to sleep in. I feel this should be noted in the room discription.

- Hector (6/5): Never again - First issue was the lack of communication. Is hard to get a response about parking question I had days before my booking. Once I arrived I was confused to how I get in the parking without a key or access code. If only they would've responded to my question everything would of made sense. The lady I spoke to was rude to answering my questions. Oh not to mention I received a text stating I parked on the wrong spot and if I don't move my car my car will get towed. I was NEVER told I had an assigned parking spot ! The room was decent but the bathroom needed some repairing. The morning after I found a bug crawling on the ceiling. I have pictures and videos of the room and the bug. Also I have proof of the text and emails about the parking issue and never mentioned about assigned parking. Good thing I read the text before hopping into my uber.
- Jamie (8/5): Interesting - It’s definitely a historical hotel until you get to your room. What an awesome surprise! Beautiful kitchen area, great bed, and an interesting view of the nightlife. It was loud from outside partying, but also kind of fun.
- Elsa (10/5): - Loved the stay! It is a bit loud from the bar in the basement, but honestly it was not a real issue for us. We had an amazing stay. It was comfortable, clean, and the area felt so safe! It was close to the convention center, bars, lots of resturants and more. Definitely going to stay again!
- Olga (4/5): Dont stay here, dump from hell. - This biulding should never be called a hotel. It is a trashy, old apartment building. No reception. No elevator. No phone to call. Figure everything out by text, code, and estimation. The room and hallways smell of vomit. Toilet and bathroom are so small only a toddler can use them. The breakfast voucher is fake, there is no cafe and no service whatsoever. Steep stairs that lead to another restaurant were they dump trash. If this place ever has an emergency, good luck you are trapped. There are tons of hotels all around. If you want to sleep stay somewhere else. Booming music all night in a stuffy room is no ones idea of a vacation.

- Jenny (10/5): - We arrived at night and the checkin was simple with the codes. It’s all stair access so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. Room was cool with some charm. Nice decor throughout. The restaurants downstairs was good and convenient
