Guest Reviews
- Jeff (10/5): - Older motel that has been taken care of.
- catherine (2/5): - We did not even check in. The area was run down, and it looked like a halfway house. Sorry to leave a bad review but we didnt feel like we would have a car in the morning.
- Carrie (8/5): - The motel was clean and the front lobby person was very friendly.. a little run down but the water waa hot and the sheets were clean. Wouldnt stay there for longer than a night or 2. But for the.price couldnt pass it up.
- Dawn (8/5): Comfortable. Good value. - Excellent service. Comfortable room. Property is dated but seems well maintained.
- Dongsok (8/5): - A little on the run down side, but the host was very nice, and for the price, the room did what it had to do!
- Heather (10/5): - Great price and great clean room for a 1 night stay.
- Roy (10/5): Ok for the night. - Place is outdated. Room was clean. Great Mexican restaurant. The manager Dusty was so helpful and trully made our experience very comfortable. We will be back when travelling through there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very friendly check in lady, had a swamp cooler instead of typical air-conditioning, which is more quiet and still cooled enough
- Mick (6/5): - Run down@
- cheryl (6/5): - The room was cute, clean & nice bed. It was old, no a/c & wind from door was squealing. Owner/ manager was very nice.
- cheryl (6/5): - Owner/ manager was nice. Room clean, & comfortable. No a/c & wind was whistling through the door. Old part of town
- vishnu vardhan reddy (10/5): - It was a pleasant stay at cody motel. Staff is too kind.
- Tim (10/5): - Very chill
- Matthew (6/5): - Older place, no a.c. But has swamp coolers in attic. Very friendly staff and super helpful
- Robert (8/5): - Old hotel. Looks a little frayed from the outside, but the room was spotless and immaculate. Dusty at the front was very nice.
- Joe (10/5): - Older motel but clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cody - Front desk attendant was very helpful when I needed first aid.
- David (2/5): - Room was filthy. I wanted to check in early, this was not allowed. I don't know why as there was no maid service going on anywhere. Also, nobody is every in the office, phone number for help stuck to the door. I will NEVER stay here again
- William (6/5): - I really appreciated the stay at this motel. It was "what was needed" as far as a warm place to sleep. There wasn't a free breakfast, or pool (that we could see). It was a place to sleep.
It did that job well.
I recommend a short stay there, but be sure to grab toiletries from somewhere before hand. There was only a small bar of soap in the room.
- Tim (2/5): - unsafe/dirty heater, very thin walls, no reception in the evening, defect ventilation - motel situated at a kind of parking place
- Sarah (2/5): Don't stay here - We didn't actually stay. The first room the key did not work. The employee left to get a new key. The room was bad, there were stains,i hope on the towel. The bathroom window was open with no way to close it. Finally the employee returned and said we would need to move rooms. This room had no heat and we never entered the room because that key didn't work. We were informed the room had no heat, but we never entered the room. We left and asked for a refund and were informed no refund. And then found multiple charges on my card. I am disputing
- Neil (4/5): - Old and rundown. Needs upgrade.
No air, tv has little channel selection.
Pricing was cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. If your there just to sleep and head out it was okay.
- Nigel (6/5): - This was an old motel in need of a refit, staff were welcoming and friendly, and while the room was clean and had microwave and fridge the quality of the plumbing needed attention.
- kaylee (2/5): - Did not feel safe staying here.
- David (8/5): Fine - Good
- Deborah (10/5): Not too bad of a place - Beds were comfortable. It's outdated but wasn't bad.
- Judy (8/5): - Older facility but certainly better than a lot of more expensive choices.
- Roberta (4/5): - Dusty did great job checking us in and even said she was going to put us in a “Special Room”. Hmmmm, linens were stained and dingy, including towels!! Curtains falling off the hooks. Could not close all the way. No A/C, but did have a “swamp cooler” which would compare to a bathroom exhaust. Slept with a window cracked mainly because it would not close! The tub/shower may have been sprayed with something but not scrubbed. Soap scum in tub and wall tiles. I wipe things down any way but I used one wipe just to clean the remote control! Filthy. The area our room was next to a little room/apt where two large women were cooking and visiting. Open trash can outside their door but I did not see one bug or rodent. We should not have stayed but had travelled over 700 miles and my husband was beat! The owner of this property needs to do a lot before I would even rate this a two!!
- Greg (6/5): Get what you pay for? - Low budget motel, but had a good rating (8.2). Photo was misleading: a detail shot of one of the nicest building (there were at least 3) - the only one where rooms had a porch. My room had a door that didn’t open completely (caught on the carpet), a stained toilet bowl, ceiling AC unit whose cover was partly hanging down, rumpled bedding and stains on the carpet
- Ronald (10/5): - a quiet and quaint motel with a very nice lady checking me in
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great overnight - Passing through Rock Springs for one night.the Cosy Motel looked a little sketchy on the approach. After checking in with the manager, I felt totally fine. This place is old and on the verge of run down, but not there yet. It was the cleanest (and cheapest) room I’d stayed in a long time. The bed was comfortable, the room warm with easily adjustable thermostat. I walked to quaint downtown for dinner and breakfast. Would recommend over newer chain hotels on the other side of town.
- Louis (10/5): - Such a cute and quaint spot! Everything was clean and comfortable I would love to stay again!
- Michael (10/5): - Cody motel is a older motel but is clean and comfortable and the staff is very professional and friendly I would stay there again without hesitation
- LEAH (10/5): - I have been telling every dog person I know to stay at The Cody Motel if they need a place around the Rock Springs area.
- Jason (10/5): - I travel out west a bunch and Rock Springs is a great stopping point. The Cody will be my new stop from now on!
- Kelli (8/5): Clean and quiet - Friendly checking, great parking, and a clean room…and a rock hard bed. But for the price it was fine.
- terry (4/5): - Plain older hotel. Room was fine. Manager was nice. I could not control the temperature in the room and I’ve cold air was blasting into the room all night. The coldest night I’ve ever had in a hotel! I was shivering in the morning.
- Clifton (6/5): A good sleep motel - The room is small (Two beds) old condition but fine considering the price. Had problems with their network, din't know we were arriving. Has to return, but since we were early in the da, it was not an issue for us.
- Donald (6/5): - The Manager was super. Everything else is old, old, old. I sort of knew that from the other reviews, but was hoping for "old chic". Unfortunately it was just old.
- Verified traveler (4/5): A Frigid Night - Swamp cooler ran noisily all night long and in-room electric heater was non-functional. We froze the entire night.
- Harold (8/5): It'll do - It's an older motel but kept up fairly good. Not a bad place to stay for the price.
- Glenda (6/5): - Near restaurants, intreting layour of rooms.
- Norman (6/5): - Pretty run down place would not stay again
- David (8/5): - We were able to walk to old town. It was a clean, but well loved, room.
- Casey (10/5): - Sure The Motel is older, but they do a great job of keeping everthing clean and Affordable in this great community. The lady at the front desk will go out of her way to help you with anything needed. I stayed there twice this last week and slept great.
Thank you for everything. Casey
- Jeffery (10/5): - This is an old hotel but it has been meticulously maintained/restored. Large mini-fridge and fine microwave. Beautiful vintage 60s bathroom with new flooring. Great place for a road stop. Near old town with a couple of local Mexican restaurants.
- thomas (10/5): - Clean, no-frills, friendly staff
- Kathy (10/5): - My favorite part was how accommodating the staff was. They went out of their way to anticipate and meet our needs. They are a basic motel but very clean, neat and safe.
- Donna (6/5): - The clerk was friendly. We were surprised that our room also had a second bedroom with a twin bed and sink. There was an ice machine on site. Coffee was available for breakfast, but not until after 7 a.m. We were on the road before that. Also the water that came out of the faucet was rusty.
- Robert (6/5): Ok, but won't stay again - It's OK. It has an old 60s feel to it, like an old building. Very basic. No coffee but m/w and fridge.
They have some stupid central air that's freezing and very noisy. I have no control over it. She said they turn it off at 10:30, so I just huddled under the blanket. It's really idiotic that I have to run the heater to offset the cold.
- Donald (2/5): - The ceiling vent for the air conditioner was whining/whistling and the manager turned off the unit, but it was a cool evening and the open windows kept the room comfortable. However, there was a strong chemical smell in the room and both my wife & I woke at 5am, gasping for breath, with asthma attacks.
- rob (8/5): Really comfortable / warm…! - We liked it a lot. The entry door could have used some work..? Will be staying again in March…
- Farah (6/5): - If you are looking for fancy, this is not the place. However, the room had some space, the front desk was very nice and it was relatively quiet. I liked that it was easy walking distance to downtown (albeit, the whole town is quite small). It was affordable and easy to find.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Liked the friendliness and history and charm. Dusty, who checked us in and out was great. Bathroom was a little small.
- Henry (8/5): - This property dates to the Eisenhower presidency. It is well maintained but lacking in more modern design features. Heating is provided by cast iron radiators and a remote boiler. At 2:00 am, the room felt like 90 degrees and we had to open windows to control temperature. Room cost compensated for inconvenience. Would return again.
- William Reeve (10/5): - The manager was uniquely kind, came to the door to check us in despite the office being closed and was a pleasure to speak with.
- Joseph (10/5): - The staff was super welcoming and friendly.
- Gregory (8/5): - Didn't like or dislike
- COLLEEN (10/5): - Quaint older motel, auiet, vedy clean.
- Deborah (8/5): - This is a vintage motel that is in good condition and well maintained. Close to Historic downtown and easy accrss to Hwy 80. Pleasant staff and clean.
- Frank (8/5): - Facility old but clean. No heat control in room; no A/C —but probably not needed most of the time.
- Bruce (4/5): - The motel has NO air conditioning!!
No screens on windows
No coffee
No near places to eat
- Vaniece (8/5): Made a decent choice. - Upon check in, the desk clerk (did not get her name) was amazingly friendly, informative and showed a genuine care for her guests. Arriving there, some may question the location. Not much close by however being an older property it was quite clean, very quiet and I always felt safe. Good for one or two days or even long term if needed. Several highway maintenance workers staying there while working on I-80.
- Harold (6/5): One nighter - It's an older motel and I know our room didn't have air conditioning and I don't think any of the rooms did. Luckily the weather wasn't too hot.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Upon arrival to the hotel the staff were very nice. They even upgraded us to a two bed at no extra charge. Having said all of that, the amenities were very poor. There was hair between the sheets in the bedroom. The sheets were suspicious that they weren’t freshly installed. The floor was uneven all over the room. The windows we’re single pane and looked like they were from the 60s or 70s. However it was generally clean and everything worked relatively well. Except the air conditioner. Even though I set it at a higher temperature at 72° By morning the temperature went down to 61° with the AC on all night. I had to turn on the heater to warm up in the room. I’ll give it a two to three star as a result of all of those issues.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice budget friendly motel! - Great spot for a very reasonable price. Friendly staff!!
- Rose (8/5): - The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a lot nicer than the motel we had in Goodland KS. Both of them were the same price but this room was better by far.
The woman at check in was very friendly and nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner was so nice and helpful with anything we needed!! It was a nice and cozy stay! Close to downtown so we could walk everywhere!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Free breakfast advertised, but no breakfast available. Front door only opened about 1/3 of the way. Parking was very tight.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good value for the price. I stayed here passing through on a roadtrip, and the room met my expectations for the cost. It is a vintage motel and had all the basics I needed including a microwave and fridge. The owner checked me both in and out and was welcoming and courteous.
- Maureen (6/5): Won't stay here again - Wi-Fi did not work. Office attendant was helpful but did not seem to know what he was doing as he had to contact his boss several times to complete the registration and try and get the Wi-Fi to work which was unsuccessful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Pillow case was obviously dirty. They were glad to replace it but it made me wonder if the room had been cleaned
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Roomy, friendly staff, clean
- George (4/5): - The online photos and reality are two different things. The neighbor is business/ industrial - we didn’t feel safe!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - So easygoing. Comfortable and everything that you need for great price
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is an old motel, but it is clean, has a good breakfast, and is reasonably priced.
- Randolph (10/5): Great Night - This is an old motel, but the room was very clean and comfortable. The service from the office manager was superb. We got breakfast in the morning, which we didn't expect! Wonderful experience...
- ROBERT (10/5): My stay at The Cody Motel - It was very comfortable and nice for the price. I will come back again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Just in town for the weekend travel technician it was very nice
- Chris (8/5): It’s OK. - This place was ok I probably won’t go back I didn’t fit in the shower.
- Melissa (10/5): - The stay at the Cody Motel was great. Service was great. 👍
- Chelsea (10/5): Great! - This spot was AWESOME! They even had coffee in the morning. The room was good, and we had TV and WiFi. We had everything we needed. And were very pleasantly surprised, especially for the price!
- James (10/5): One the cleanest two star hotels ever - This hotel was very clean for a 2 star property. Just make sure that you check in by 9pm or call if your coming in latter.
- Lawrence (10/5): Outstanding! - Classic older western hotel. Extremely clean and no bugs. Outstanding cozy room. Very friendly staff. Do not hesitate to make a reservation!
- Hily (6/5): I'd stay again - This is an older hotel in the the real downtown area of Rock Springs. Charming, tiny, old and everything functioned as it should. It reminded me of staying at my grandmother's place or at a the Stovepipe Wells hotel in Death Valley. Absolutely lovely hotel staff, so sweet.
It was quiet and we felt perfectly safe.
I'd stay here again.
- Porche (10/5): - You know when you’re looking to book a room just to sleep? It needs to be clean, comfortable bed, easy access, and affordable, after all you only need it for sleeping and maybe a shower, right?!?!
The Cody Motel is that place, plus charm AND amazing customer service. It was the only lodging in town with no vacancies when we rolled in at 1am.
- Geo (8/5): - Return trip, still Covid Daze, still Rock Springs...no complaints, but it would be nice if they would get softer pillows. ;-]
- Geo (8/5): - No frills, simple, but clean and easy. Park at Your front door, which is nice too.
- Katey (10/5): Loved Cody Motel - It was so wonderful. Kathy helped us check in and was so welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean and homey and we slept great.
- Jason (10/5): - Awesome and relaxing stay, especially for the price. If you are passing through or visiting stay at the Cody vs motel6, etc.
- Carl (8/5): - Room was clean. Parking a little tight. Drapes needed work. Enjoyed talking with desk clerk.
- Jessica (8/5): Good for adults, not so much for kids - This is a "pay by the week" type of motel and served its purpose. I was a little uncomfortable with the location because i had children and it seemed to be the "outskirts" of town. Some neighborhood gentleman on a bike tried to talk to my kids while they were getting in the car.
- Carolina (8/5): - Good for a 1 night stay. Good for a one night stay
- Verified traveler (6/5): CODY HOTEL - This was a mom and pop kind of place. The stsff very friendly and nice. I had to change rooms because the toilet did not work...no problem. But then the front door of the second place did not open completely. The air would not turn off and a staff had to shut it down from a differdnt location. This was
a veryreasonably priced, so hate to complain. Just a very old place with very few upgrades. It was clean and I felt safe.
- Gerald (8/5): - Old, but clean. Very welcoming owners. Hot coffee in the morning!
- Justin (10/5): Awesome hotel - Great value and extremely friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Likes: it’s an old style motel where you park right in front of your room. No lugging bags thru the lobby and up the elevator and then having to go back and move the car. Also, it’s clean, has plenty of hot water, and the room was warm when I entered ( in December).
Dislikes: well, it’s an old motel. Other than Wi-fi, TV, microwave, it has all the amenities you’d expect in 1940. Bring your own hair dryer.
- Erin (10/5): - The host was very inviting and friendly! The room was clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay here next time I’m in Rock Springs
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very friendly check in, very clean and comfy room. Thin walls allowed traffic and nearby train noise to be like windows were open. Quiet after 10 pm. Great value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The manager greeted us when we arrived. He was funny and entertaining after our long drive. He offered us coffee and "Darn good donuts" and let us know they would be there at 7am. Our room was clean and the heater worked. (It was cold there). Thank you for a great stay.
