Food is even better and rooms are all being updraded.

- Carol (2/5): - Lovely old pub attached to the accommodation, which was real old time friendly pub. The accommodation was very poor, donāt think it has been updated since the 70s. Such a shame as it has a lot of potential. Very cold, tv was poor, and bed was very hard
- Karen (8/5): Perfect place for us to stay before heading to the Heaphy Track. - This place suited us perfectly. We arrived late but that was not a problem the staff were so easy to deal with when our plans changed. Very clean and the heaters were on for our late arrival. Fantastic
- Kellie (8/5): great value all round -
- Gillian (5/5): Passable - Clean, spacious Bathroom needs a wee upgrade

Staff very easy to communicate with and very friendly. Nothing comes to mind
- Pip (10/5): very relaxing - very quiet spot to stay very friendly staff
- Vicki (7/5): A good place to stay for a night or two, if you are on a budget. - Large accommodation with separate bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Full oven and good kitchen facilities. Furniture was a little dated and uncomfortable, and there were quite a few 'critters' about the place. Bug spray was provided and was well made use of.
- David (9/5): We would stay there again, very friendly and convenient - easy assess to the pub for meals etc
- Ted (7/5): Good -
- Raisbeck (6/5): Very pleasant - No breakfast offered, location great. Shower, don't like curtains & water pressure to high.
- Sheila (9/5): Superb -
- Erin (10/5): Loved our stay here after walking the Heaphy, would reccomend! - Lovely village motel, exactly what you would be expecting. A great place to clean and rest after walking the Heaphy. Extra perfect that the bar is only seconds from your doorstep and cold draught beer and delicious fish and chips await. Nothing, it is what you would be expecting from a relatively cheap village hotel
- Robert (9/5): A lovely stop after travelling to Karamea & the room was fabulous for the cost - Location was excellent & it was very comfortable & value for money Hard to find anyone when you arrived - but that didnāt last long

- Erin (8/5): We had a lovely stay with the friendly hosts at Karamea Village Hotel -
- Lyndal (9/5): Great budget accommodation - Friendly locals & great service provided. Bed was comfortable but could do with an upgrade as could here the springs & it caused roll together resulting in sore back & hips. We are use to a very firm bed so this wasn't the best for us.
- Athena (10/5): Exceptional - the pub was lovely great food. nice spacious room . also allowed our doggies which was great hot water was a little on and off one day
- Shan (8/5): - Really good value for money. Ideally located for Heaphy track and Oparara Arches. The pub was great for a drink and dinner. Could do with an upgrade to the shower as it made the entire bathroom wet.
- Carole (8/5): Lovely stay at Karamea Hotel :-) - A well functioning bathroom is vital for many Heaphy track hikers. Make sure if Hairdryer is āout of orderā to replace it with a working one asap ;-)
- Jenny (4/5): The room served our needs in a basic way but overpriced for what you get. - The room was spacious. Old, tired and minimalist. No sink for washing dishes, shower water floods bathroom floor. Very basic amenities. TV only worked on one channel.
- Julie (7/5): Good -
- Peter (7/5): very pleasant - the accommodation could do with a facelift
- Marcel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Elaine (7/5): Very comfortable accommodation apart from the disappointing ablution facilities. - Lovely position, atmosphere and old world charm. Good menu for evening meal - well presented. The bathroom was very disappointing. No shower box meant that the bathroom floor became flooded with water when showering,. No extractor resulting in peeling paint and dampness.
- Euan (6/5): Really enjoyed our time in Karamea as all ways. Staff were wonderful a better bed and chai - Staff were really good as was the food. Unit was clean and tidy. Beds could be better bit bouncy and roll together.
Could have had a couch or comfy chairs. Even a hot plate would have been good

- Tania (8/5): Very good - Gorgeous place .Great location with interesting history.
Fabulous meal at the pub.
Bed a bit firm for my liking and shower set up interesting to say the least.

- Graeme (7/5): Stay in Karamea. A very special place to visit. - We supplied our own breakfast.
An adequate motel, fitting for the area and circumstances. The pub was great! The meals were really good as Pub meals go. The staff were exceptionally friendly. A great experience of an old style Kiwi pub/motel. We loved the experience. The plastic wash bowl was our kitchenette. !! Having no kitchenette facility was different. All water came from the one tap in the shower room. This is a special place. Enjoy!!

While a bit dated the hotel was perfectly comfortable and clean. The restaurant was great and we had a brilliant meal! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend Nothing - great stay
- Narelle (9/5): Superb -
- Cheryl (10/5): - Great service and food. Handy to beach and river and not far from shop and coffee. Big roomy unit with outdoor table and chairs.
- Hester-smith (7/5): Lovely place to stay. - Lovely pub with really nice meals. Lovely fresh salad with the nicest dressing on it I have tasted. Chips were lovely and crisp and not greasy. Chicken was cooked perfectly. The accommodation was great with a lovely terrace off our room onto lawn. Quiet and safe left windows open when we went out. Didn't hear any of the neighbors. Very roomy room. You can walk to the sea and the river from here. I would have liked some cooking facilities and a sink not a bowl to wash dishes in. There was a microwave, toaster and jug though. If there were cooking facilities, we would probably stay longer in Karamea.
- Simon (10/5): Enjoyed - Service
- Julia (7/5): Comfortable stay after a big day walking. - Meals. Room unit. Hotel nice, especially garden. Friendly staff. Historic..Handy to Heaphy Track, OpÄrara Arch, MÅria Gate Arch and tarn Shower flooded floor. Towels dropped lots of fluff.
