- George (4/5): The lack of a lift was astonishing - Breakjfast ok Abscend of a lift.as we were both in our eightys also no walk in shower room very small for 2 people also a step in it.
- Imelda (7/5): Only one of the dinning room staff was anyway nice and helpful and she was on for breakfast..Wasn’t made about attitude - Good location and clean.
- Eamonn (9/5): Excellent would stay again - Breakfast was excellent cooked to order. Location great and staff were very friendly and helpful. Toilet very hard to flush.
- Mary (6/5): - Location excellent for shopping resturants. The toilet didnt work well. Lack off space in bedroom a step in bedroom. Breakfast no cereal for 2 days, no Tabasco, cold toast.
- Stephen (8/5): - Staff really helpful. Great breakfast… really tasty. No lift.
- Della (9/5): - Excellent location and friendly staff
- John (10/5): -
- Sabrina (10/5): -
- Browne (5/5): - Friendly staff, great location The room was tiny and the walls were stained. There was no lift and a step down from the bedroom towards the door. Very unsuitable for elderly or anyone with mobility issues. There was no way to adjust the heat in the room. For the price it is absolutely the worst value for money I've found in Ireland.

- Michael (10/5): Highly recommend - Hotel is in a great location, can walk everywhere and parking is convenient. Room was quaint, clean with a big bathroom. Good water pressure and the breakfast was good with lots of variety.

- Scenic21183001495 (8/5): Amazing experience - Amazing hotel! The dance floor area and outdoor area was incredible. Would be higher if the bathroom disco light was working but overall an amazing experience!
- Dan (4/5): Their hotel was disappointing on many levels. We would not choose to stay here again or recommend it to anyone. - The rooms were clean. It was difficult to get our luggage to our rooms through narrow hallways and up two flights of stairs. This property needs an elevator. Additionally it was extremely loud. The noise from the bar below kept us awake all night. Then a drunken reveler came down our hallway trying to get into every room. Rattling the doors all the way down the hallway trying to get in. It was upsetting. We were traveling with our children who had been put in a room on a different floor on the opposite side of the hotel. It was unsettling. We asked if we could have rooms closer together and they said only if we paid 250 euros additional. When a family makes a reservation together why wouldn’t they be put in rooms next door? On the same floor? Crazy. And then to upsell us for an extravagant fee? Very upsetting. We had to get up early for a flight with no sleep. It was a disappointing stay.
- Terri (10/5): Wonderful place to stay :) - Location was perfect, staff were amazing and the food was devine 10/10.

- Stephen (9/5): -
- Una (10/5): - Lovely helpful staff beds very comfortable and breakfast was fab
- Fionnuala (6/5): Wouldn’t stay again - Location Unfortunately while the location and hotel room were ok, the noise was absolutely terrible until after 2.00 am so I wouldn’t want to stay again
- Karen (10/5): -
- Noreen (5/5): - The staff team were fantastic Bedroom stains. Bath mat was gross. Needs new carpet
- Frank (8/5): - Convenient to everything Car park bit small
- naomi (5/5): - The location was perfect The bed was 2 singles put together. There was a delivery truck outside my window at 7.30 in the morning.
- Martin (6/5): A nice, friendly hotel that could be improved upon. - Stayed here before in their suite. I love what they did with the space by making it a living room and bedroom. Very unique. Felt like an apartment in the best way. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of pillows and duvets in the cupboard if you want more. The staff are beyond friendly. Very approachable. Lovely to deal with and very welcoming. Car park is also very convenient. Location is central too. Musky, very off-putting smell in the bathroom both times I’ve stayed. Just surprised housekeeping haven’t done something about it or maybe haven’t noticed. Though I love their suite and what they’ve done with the space, it’s very basic for the money they charge. Not even a coffee machine. Television only provides basic channels which is a bit annoying for a suite. No access to Netflix or YouTube like other country hotels I have stayed in. Surrounding area doesn’t offer much for dining outside of takeaways, so you’re sorta stuck dining at Cusack’s which isn’t the best for food though, but again, staff are lovely.

- 413gg (2/5): Refused food service - A colleague lost a family member, and a group of 8 people from work attended the funeral in Thurles. We entered Hayes Hotel at around 2:10 pm on a weekday. Other people were eating in the bar area. We were well dressed, and hungry, but were told by staff for reasons unclear that they would not serve food to a large group. Two of oour group had sat down separately, and their orders were being taken by staff. We made it clear that we did not need to sit together; we were only after our lunch. All to no avail. We were polite throughout, but the staff simply did not want or business. Fodd was being served to other customers during the five minutes we spent in there. A bizarre experience and a place best avoided.

Great location
Excellent bathroom and shower
- Elaine (8/5): - The location was great and also the free parking The room was very very small for the price we paid. The bathroom also needs updating. The wooden panel behind the door and below the bath needs repairing.

- Philo (7/5): - Everything Wait for food
- Michael (8/5): -
- Mary (3/5): Asked three times about heating. Nothing done just gave us a small blow heater - Very greasy. Toast cold No heat in the room. Lighting poor
- Marie (9/5): great value and very comfortable - great location, lovely rooms very comfortable bed, good value great breakfast one small negative was the noise from the nightclub but they tell you that and give you earplugs

- Paul (9/5): Would think very hard about staying again. - Pleasant staff, hotel car park (even with the large pools of water) adequate for my needs but a bit on the pricey side considering no breakfast included. I didn't book breakfast when I booked the room as I wasn't sure if I would be availing of it.
I decided in the morning to have the breakfast due to circumstances.
I chose the pancakes option, there was nothing fantastic about it, but a lot of chocolate and marsh mallows on the plate which I don't eat anyway. No bacon which is normally served with pancakes. Price including 2 cups of coffee-priced separately was €17+ which I think is a bit cheeky.
- Martin (5/5): Except for the noise, very enjoyable - Excellent, plenty of variety and good quality Lots of noise from some water system in the hotel, sounded like showers or toilets. Unpleasant at four or five am.
- Riccardo (8/5): -
- MARK (8/5): Better than expected - The staff were very friendly and welcoming
Helpful with local shopping
- Luana (7/5): - Ristorante molto buono, camera ampia e letti comodi. La doccia-vasca senza miscelatori. La stanza si affacciava sulla strada e alla mattina entrava molto rumore (serramenti da rivedere..).
- tamara (8/5): - Nice decor comfy bed Very small room but fine as I was on my own
- sandra (8/5): It was comfortable and the room was very clean. - Room and breakfast. I travelled with my mother, I felt we should have been situated on the first floor . It was a lot of steps for my mum to climb.
- TRACEY (8/5): great stay - The room was excellent and staff reception very good the fact that you dont have a lift...
- catherine (10/5): - Very comfortable beds , beautiful food , spotless accommodation. Fire alarm echoed 5am, no explanation as to reason why. Slow service in garden event
- Heather (10/5): Charming historic hotel with great walkablity. - Very clean and comfortable. The reception woman was so charming and helpful! Nothing
- Rose (1/5): -
- clark (10/5): Got up went to work breakfast doesn't start till 0800 but said they would be happy to accommodate if - Beautiful room staff weee amazing thought the £120 guarantee bond should have been outlined prior to booking £120. Guarantee bond this should be highlighted
- brianedwardm2024 (4/5): the above is my experience - loction and room decor acceptable room was cold the rad did not work lavatory flush did not flush at all times fire alarn went off at 11.42 . do not book
- 118sadien (2/5): Terrible hotel with rude untrained staff. I was in the restaurant order lunch left half hour waiting. She forgot my order never - Terrible hotel with rude untrained staff. I was in the restaurant for lunch. Left a half hour waiting.she forgot my order and never said sorry and pass the book as if it was not her fault. I left without my lunch. The manger of the restaurant said he would look after me the next time so I came the next day to check the services.he look at me never check that I was all right another bad day of service. They are the worst waitress in Ireland.
- Maurice (4/5): Disappointed - Good location Room was supposed to be upgraded.
Didn’t happen
Tumble dryer or something rumbling.. noisy all night
- Sinead (6/5): The hotel is lovely, in a great location, but in need of refurbishment in places - Comfortable bed The hotel was cold, the room was cold, bathroom needed work, cracked floor tiles

- Martin (9/5): Fantastic Hotel and A Lovely Experience - I was greeted immediately upon arrival by the receptionist. Made feel very welcome throughout my stay. I stayed in the suite and I found it very homely and comfortable. I liked how the suite was divided into a small living area woth a sofa and TV and then it leads into the bedroom part. Very simple, but for me it was absolutely perfect! Felt like a little apartment and very cozy. Also found Cusack’s wonderful. Staff were lovely. There was a slight smell from the bathroom in the suite, but nothing to really complain about. Very clean. Overall, an amazing stay.
- Darina (10/5): Loved it! - Lovely staff. Beautiful food. Room was so nice. Beds were so comfy. Definitely recommend this place. Nothing to complain about
- Catherine (10/5): - Beautiful old hotel well kept and excellent restaurant Second floor heating was low
- cgaynor14 (10/5): Excellent stay! - What a beautiful hotel and gracious staff. We felt welcomed and had such a joyful time at Hayes and Cusack Bar. We ended our travels in Thurles and it was a perfect way to say goodbye to Ireland.

- debbiekE8681XU (2/5): Rude - Attendied on 27th dec, understandably knew it would be a busy day but chanced our arm and looked for a table . We were greeted by the server and we asked if there was any chance of a table for lunch we were laughed at by the server and simply told NO ( in a very hostile sarcastic manner) and she walked away… no sorry it’s not possible which we would have understood… just rudeness and laughter. We had friends visiting from
Abroad with us who just could not believe the rudeness! Have eaten here times and is usually hospitable normally but not on this occasion.
- BubbaBoland853 (10/5): Great stay - Amazing bed, shower was fantastic Not a whole lot

- O2749XCjimm (2/5): Terrible hotel with rude staff - I booked my room on 19 October and called the hotel on 21 October to request a quiet room, and I was assured this would not be a problem. However, this was not reflected in the service I received on arrival or during my stay.
Upon arrival on 21 November, I was not offered assistance with my bags or the option to leave them safely at reception until check-in time at 3pm. Later that afternoon, at approximately 5:20pm, I visited the hotel bar and was refused a drink solely because I was not dining there. Instead, I was told I could take a drink to my room or sit alone in the reception area, which was quite cold. As a paying hotel guest, this was surprising and quite embarrassing, and is certainly not the welcome I expected returning to my hometown.
That night, the room (105) I was given was extremely noisy, with what appeared to be old ventilation or air-conditioning units directly outside the window. The noise was constant and so loud it resembled a running tractor engine. At 1:00am on 22 November, I called reception to request a room change. Although staff were able to move me, I had been assured weeks prior that a quiet room would be provided, and yet I was placed in one of the noisiest in the hotel.
The following morning, I discovered that brown, foul-smelling water was coming from the shower, making it impossible to wash. When staff came to investigate, they acknowledged that this was a known issue affecting the hotel. During this conversation, they were surprised to learn about the other problems I had encountered, including the lack of assistance with my bags and being refused service in the bar as a guest.
In addition, the late-night noise from the nightclub was extremely loud. While the website mentions that some noise may be heard, this went far beyond a mild disturbance. Earplugs were provided, but they did little to reduce the impact of the noise.
