- David (10/5): Hotel - yes; Beach / big No - The hotel itself and the staff were wonderful. Well maintained and updated rooms. It is by the beach but you can't use the beach. It is very dirty with trash washing ashore. It is not a good sight to see. The location of the hotel is far from everything. The port/pier and everything else is at least a 20 minute drive, Can't walk to any place. No taxis, only tricycles. The hotel shuttle costs so much.

- K (10/5): - Loved staying at Solina. Rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. Property is beautiful and you will see cows, ducks, goats, dogs and cats roaming around. There are variety of room options. Some massage experiences available on the beach and limited activities. Food was good and breakfast was a lovely buffet. Our only criticism would be that the beach could use a good clean up. We know it’s likely public space but being a beach resort we were not comfortable walking/swimming in the area due to the amount of debris. Would suggest staff resources be allocated to beach cleanup rather than some other places and the experience would be that much better. Staff arranged island tour and transport to Iloilo City for us which we appreciated. Bring $ as it’s appreciated over credit cards.
- Nicholas (10/5): - This large property is a wonderful place for a chill vacation and has a variety of amenities. We enjoyed the pool, beach, gym, observation tower and games. There are a variety of Western and Filipino foods at the restaurant and everything we had was tasty. The buffet breakfast is only offered when the hotel has enough occupancy. Otherwise, there is a plated breakfast but the buffet is better. The staff are friendly and helpful when any issues arise. They can book a Gigantes island tour and send a driver to bring you to an area on the property. The king room was very large and has a comfortable bed and TV with Netflix / YouTube.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing Solina experience. - It was an amazing experience. Most of us are first timer in Iloilo and we are glad that we experienced our first time in Solina. We stayed in their glamping tents and it was so magical and relaxing. The rooms are all clean and they clean it again on the next day. The staff are all very accommodating esp the one who is on duty during dinner time on the weekends. She wore her smile all through even though there were many people. She accommodates our request happily too. Their food is also so great and at a reasonable price. The breads in their breakfast buffet are also amazing. Overall it was an amazing teambuilding experience and a big part of it its because we stayed in Solina. Solina is one of the best hotels./resort we have been at reasonable accommodation prices and food prices. If ever we go back again in Iloilo, we will surely stay here again. Thank you, Solina and your staff for making our stay last February 2-4 memorable.
- Rodrigo (10/5): - It’s a nice,clean beach resort in the area,very friendly staffs and accommodating,the bungalow style hotel room was clean,complete with clean washroom,nice sliding door to the front patio overlooking the beach!
- Paul (8/5): Two night stay - We (three adults and 1 tween) had initially booked for just one night in the 'glorified tent' type of accommodation. It contained 4 double (closer to single) beds and suited us fine, no complaints. Two of us took in the Gigantes Island hopping tour (a must see if you come to Carles Iloilo). We decided to extend our stay at Solina for an extra night but our type of unit was fully booked so we had to take the more conventional cottage style unit. It cost approx. 1,300 php more but it was larger and had a nicer patio with a pool and beach view so was worth it. The only negatives I found with this resort during our stay was the early morning noise of a pool side zumba class (pounding music at 6am, which ceased after we notified reception) and the construction of a new building which commenced at 7am. I mentioned to my wife that perhaps the staff felt obligated to ensure that we make the most of our days there, hence the early morning 'alarms'. And the beers could have been colder. Everything else was fine. The staff were always helpful and we were allowed an early check-in. We will definitely return.

Food taste needs improvement as well, very bland. There are also stray dogs in the resort so its not safe to leave your food in the balcony of your room.

The pool is nice. They offer delicious and different daily breakfast buffet menu .The bonfire was a nice amenity for families with kids. The surrounding iis beautiful and well maintained. The downsides are: the following : Their beach is quite a disappointment. You have to wear beach shoes or sandals to strolll or swim. Since the restaurant is open, the flies are a problem. Their van service trip one way is expensiive irregardless of the distance within the city. If you ask for the van service, they don't pick you up in your room or villa unless you asked for it. They need to have some informations handy if a customer asked for example fthe schedule of the nearest church,etc. Overall, it's still a nice place to relax.

Clean and stylish facilities. Cons: Location is 3hrs away from the city and the beach area is not good for swimming.

Not being from Philippines there was no way I can contact boat tours companies too schedule a boat tour for Gigantes. Asked if they could at least dial number and they said they could not. Since a major draw of the area is these boat tours they should either have a company they work with or the assist people staying at Solina resort to get on tours. To me this is a big Fail on this resorts part. They will take you to your rooms via golf cart from front desk. When checking in this went good. Other times I waited 10 minutes and no cart showed up after front desk called for one. I walked about 5 minutes to my room near water. Another fail where rooms are a distant away. My room was a higher end room. We called front desk from room about internet and we were told only could only access internet at the restaurant. Got the password at the restaurant. Fortunately I could access internet still in my room. Why front desk didn't know this is another fail. Toilet seat was loose on toilet and one bolt was missing. I could see missing washer on floor. I was able to tighten one of the bolts so it was usable. I put washer on top of toilet. After 3 days there washer was still on toilet and it was never fixed or reported by cleaner of room. I can tell Solina is trying to make themselves as a top end resort but they are failing in customer service.

- Verified traveler (10/5): best resort hotel in mainland Carles - The resort and hotel is the best in the area! The staff (from reception to housekeeping) are amazing and well-trained in customer service. There is no wifi in the reception,rooms and cabins, only in the restaurant and pool area. The cabin tents are overall clean aside from the sawdust pile from ants or termites in the bathroom door corner. This must have been overlooked by the cleaners. The food in the restaurant was great too. We came in December when the beach was stretched far out because of low tide. But they have a very nice well-maintained pool to compensate for that. Overall, we had a very good experience.
- Indy (8/5): - It was cozy. Howver, they still need to have more food selections in their restaurant. They can put handles in the toilets for the seniors. The staff should remove/ get the dishes after room service.
- Bing (10/5): - It’s a beach front hotel with excellent amenities, clean rooms and heated swimming pools and jacuzzi. Beds are comfortable. Golf cars are available to take us around although you can also walk around. The internet however is not so good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A Relaxing Weekend Well Spent - Our stay at Solina Resort was nothing short of awesome! The whole place is well-kept. Our room resembled a tent but with the amenities of a standard hotel room. Beds were comfy, bathroom clean, and ambiance right for what we were expecting. No Wi-Fi in the rooms and mobile network coverage intermittent, but we were fine with that as we knew what we'd come here for. Beach was okay and gave a good view of the sunset. The downside of having all this privacy is that it is far from the town center. The resort, however, has everything one would need without leaving the place. The pool is clean as well and is occupied by kids during the day so adults would have more time to relax late in the afternoon or at night. Renting bikes was free for 2 hours. Staff were courteous and able to help us with our needs. Buffet breakfast was delicious. Pity we didn't get to stay longer. I would definitely recommend and come back.

Staffs are nice and friendly but needs to be more attentive and pro active. Ambiance of the place is so relaxing but landscape and beach needs to improve more. To sum up our experience, it was great! Thank you Solina! We will be back!

- Robert (8/5): Love Hate Relationship - Love the staff here, attentive and always had a smile.Want to make special thanks to Rhod and Burn who made my stay extra special after an annoying afternoon nap was was disturbed by the most amazing PA sound check for a Saturday night live music event, was not even aware of the bars presents at the time, which was the other end of the resort.Noise was horrendous.Was like being woke up in the middle of a techno pub!Also had issues with the room key on check in. Any issues felt with quickly.Well the following day Rhod and Burn took me under their wing and took me on a local sight seeing trip, service recovery at its finest! They also arranged a birthday cake and balloons, my birthday was the day after check out.The whole of the resort staff got onboard and sang Happy Birthday to me at breakfast.Burn once again coming in on his day off! Magic moments that last a life time! Just a note about breakfast music 6am onwards, a little loud and type of music not in keeping with the resorts name ..."and Nature Resort" certainly not in keeping with signature sounds of nature.The children's small play area too close to prime accommodation bungalows.If a child can slam,bang it, ram it and scream and shout while doing so at 0530am, not the way to be woken up! Breakfast lots of regional choice..Maybe an omelette and egg station and fried bacon would be great.The cook was good enough to fry me eggs.Thanks to Mike breakfast waiter, reliable and good service and others too many to mention.
- Sandra (10/5): Awesome resort - We had a very awesome and relaxing stay at Solina. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We stayed in one of the villas and it felt like home. It has a great layout and has everything we needed. I loved sitting on the patio overlooking the pool and the beach. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place.
