Loved the shower- good pressure and hot water (robes provided) and delicious full breakfast in the cafeteria was a huge bonus! The bed was a little too flat and firm for me who prefers a softer mattress.

Al llegar a la habitación por cortesía tienes agua y unas chocolatinas todos los días de la estancia. Tuve que abandonar el alojamiento por motivos laborales antes de lo contratado y se comprometieron en devolver el dinero de esa noche. Nada.

• Debbie (10/5): - We just spent three nights at Hotel La Colina in Gijon, Spain. I have to say it’s been the highlight of our European trip. The location is secluded outside of town, but you can get into town in 10 minutes. We ate breakfast in the cafeteria every morning and the food and service were wonderful. The rooms were great, the views are fantastic, along with the hiking paths and best of all the staff were some of the friendliest people we’ve met on our trip. Highly recommended, and we will be back.

• Travelling Bear (9/5): Isolated gem on the cliffs of Gijon - Do you need to switch off and relax by hiking the rugged coast of asturias? If yes then stay here... Fantastic location. Isolated and quiet overlooking the cliffs outside of Gijon. Good with motorbikes or car to park up safely and then go walking. You can surf or swim off the local beaches but check weather and sea conditions first. Amazing staff! They are kind and professional and really looked after us during our stay and suggest great places to eat dinner. Comfortable rooms and a great café. Even the local wildlife came to see us. All good.

Vous avez une vue à 180 degrés vraiment face à l'océan et si vous ouvrez les fenetres vous entendez le bruit de l'eau... La situation géographique et la vue sont exceptionnelles ! De plus vous avez deux plages à 3 min en voitures avec des parkings gratuits et trois restaurants! Et ce qui fait également la différence dans cet hotel c'est le personnel. Ils sont tous d'une gentillesse et amabilité à chaque instant. Je suis venu en vacances ici avec mon fils et ont se sent tout simplement bien ici. Tout est magnifique.

Staff were amazing very polite and helpful It was unfortunate that the sea must joined us throughout our stay reducing visibility to only a few feet at times. Breakfast is a bit oddly presented, but fantastic quality We booked a sea room view but there were people walking by that would look into our room, which was annoying. One of the night wat hets blatently zdmitted to feeding wild boar next to the property with the cafetaria leftovers. We had a family of 5 we got confronted with, after midnight. Sounds cute, but its really dangerous to encounter mothers and kids.

We rented a car from Bilbao and the drive was easy and uncomplicated. Everything was great!
• Wendel (10/5): Incredible views and people - Everything. It was one of the most beautiful coastlines of Spain. The beds were comfy, the shower and bath wonderful and the staff so kind. They run a cafeteria as well and the food was great. Felt like we were getting home cooked meals. Alucia was incredibly helpful with directions to Gijon and where the best sites and typical food would be. We loved it and would come back again if ever in this part of the world.
• Tim (10/5): The most welcoming hotel we can ever remember staying at. - As expected, the hotel was rather isolated but as it was located on a cliff top, surrounded on three sides by the sea, with beautiful walks on the doorstep, we couldn't fault it for location. Warm welcome by staff who spoke good English. View from the very comfortable and well appointed room was exceptional. Simple, delicious food and well stocked bar. Having to leave after only one night.

• Lorna (8/5): Nice place near Gijon - We were upgraded to a fantastic room, newly refurbished (room 10), which was spacious and with amazing views out to sea and along the coast. Breakfast was a generous buffet, with all the ingredients cooked on site. Note that 1) the hotel do not provide evening meals and 2) there is no easy way down to the beach (it's a 25-min walk along the cliff-path). (Not a criticism of the hotel, as they do not claim otherwise, but be aware!) One of the wifi routers was out of action during our stay, so there was no wifi in our room. The cafeteria shuts quite early.

Beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding cliffs, and walking trails with secluded access down to different little beaches and lookout points right outside of the hotel. The rooms were large and clean but outdated and minimal otherwise. The location alone is worth the stay if you’re interested in nature.

It was nice, clean and the staff was friendly. They didn't seem to have enough staff. Rooms are small and the bottom level ocean view has an obstructed view of the ocean. Location was close enough to Gijon by car.

• Moore (10/5): Best Hotel Experience in Northern Spain! - We booked our stay at La Colina the same day we checked in. We didn't know what to expect, and to say the staff and the hotel accommodations blew our mind is an understatement. We were fortunate enough to book their larger room with windows looking at the ocean from two walls of the room. My wife and I could not believe how beautiful the views were and pretty much immediately decided to book a second night as soon as we stepped into the hotel. This is truly a place that will take your breath away. In addition to the incredible location, the staff at this hotel are what pushed this place over the top for us. It is a small operation because it's a small boutique hotel, and many of the employees wear multiple hats onsite. But you wouldn't know they are hustling as much as they are because everyone has time to answer your questions, help get you directions to tourist sightseeing adventures, all while they are also helping to turn out delicious breakfasts and tapas dinners. We had such a great time talking with the friendly staff and honestly when we go visit again in the future it is because we want to revisit with the employees at La Colina as much as we want to stay in that room with the beautiful views! Thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable! There is absolutely everything to like here.

A basic hotel that cost a huge amount of money for a one night’s stay. We couldn’t see anything to justify this high cost. It was the most we paid for one night throughout our 3 weeks stay in Spain and Portugal.Reception was not manned therefore it was difficult to settle our bill.
