Guest Reviews

- Clare (8/5): Beautiful property, fantastic location, no facilities. - Excellent location. Sitting outside the front in the evening sunshine, looking over the harbour with a bottle of wine, sublime moment. Breakfast was delicious but a bit limited, yogurt and pastries.
- Sinead (9/5): Would love to return again next year - So central to the Village and we had amazing views from our bedroom . The hosts were kind enough to offer to collect us from the Airport instead of waiting for a taxi/bus. Beds were super comfortable dressed in gorgeous linens and bathroom filled with fluffy towels, shower gel etc Breakfast was beautifully presented baked bread, croissants with juice, yoghurt, coffee - maybe inclusion of scrambled or boiled egg would have elevated the choices.
- Karen (10/5): Great location - Very quirky. Loved the host Breakfast would have been nice with eggs!
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Prue (7/5): Lovely stay in a quirky hotel but don't think we'd go back - Wonderful location with amazing views Breakfast was overpriced, would have liked a kettle in the room, no parking, very little english spoken by hotel staff
- Kathleen (6/5): Pleasant - Location was excellent Property was more Airbnb than a hotel.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Sidebottom (2/5): Poor - Shabby chic is ok for decor not for for service.. service and professionalism shabby.
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good -
- Mimoun (10/5): Probably one of my favorite place ever -
- Kevin (9/5): Lovely welcoming and relaxing stay in an historic building, with great service. - Lovely old historical property run within their home by Pascal and his family. Perfect location at the harbour mouth with sea views and close to all the restaurants. Comfortable beds and a lovely breakfast in the room or in the parlour area.
Pascal was very welcoming and attentive. There are a lot of stairs if you struggle with them.
- Jm (9/5): Lovely to be back - Location is top. Rooms quite big and are beautiful decorated and suggest to take a room with harbour view. Personally we prefer breakfast in the beautiful reception/lounge room as we don't like to have breakfast on/in bed. Our shower was not working perfectly. Beds and bathrooms were not cleaned daily and wet towels not replaced
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Shon (8/5): Very good - lovely quirky style
- Karen (10/5): My hidden jem. - A magnificent jem in iIe de Re ,oozing with charm and luxury .
Lovely welcoming hosts who shared their home with us,every room tells a story.
Very comfortable bed with a charming bathroom, fluffy towels and bath oil supplied..
Hopefully will return next year. Absolutely nothing, a haven of peace and tranquility in a very busy little town.
- Paul (10/5): lovely place, great location, fantastic way to relax - location fantastic, place and decor great. breakfast very good. english people like us also like a kettle in the room for super early cup of tea / coffee1 nothing to say here.
- Lizanne (7/5): Pascal and family have created a very quirky place to stay and are very lovely people . - location was excellent. lovely staff breakfast was limited.
- Elizabeth (9/5): A characterful house in a great location-comfortable and fun - Fantastic location and characterful property An odd selection of linen and antique objects for sale in the main room made it look messy.
- Clarissa (8/5): Wonderful location with great views of St Martin port. - The hotel was more like a Chambres d’Hotes, very spacious, well located on the quay with views to the lighthouse and harbour. The decor was fascinatingly French and the owner ( or wife) operated a boutique from which guests could purchase a range of fashionable items. We were free to come and go as we pleased, our room was delightful with a view of the port and town and breakfast was adequate. Our room was a good size and we could leave the window and blind ajar to allow ventilation. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the sofa. We appreciated the good coffee at breakfast. This was the only property which did not provide a kettle or facilités to make tea/ coffee. The waste bins were tiny and we were told that no member of staff would enter our room to clean or remove rubbish due to Covid restrictions, we had to ask for replacement towels of the shy but very pleasant young woman. Given the cost of the room for a 4 night stay, customer care was minimal. To get to the hotel by car we had to telephone the Corps de Garde to obtain the code to lift the barrier into that part of the town. The proprietor greeted us warmly on arrival, indicated where we could park ( very convenient and no charge) and kindly reserved dinner for us in a nearby restaurant, after that he remained very much in the background and the two young women in the kitchen dealt with any queries we had.
The shower over the bath was only partially working and only soap was provided. The towels were rather worn. A small bottle of water was provide on arrival but nothing more after that and no fridge for our own water. Breakfasts were adequate but absolutely no variety of choice. The reception area was rather untidy and unwelcoming and lights were left on throughout the day which seemed wasteful to us in a time of heatwave.
Our departure was somewhat scrambled due to finding our car parking bay had been taped off without warning, thé young woman helpfully wrote a note for the authorities and eventually the proprietor explained it was due to the visit of a government official and there was no need to worry about being towed away. Needless to say we ate breakfast very quickly and left in such a hurry that my husband discovered he only had one shoe out of a pair!
