• Madeleine (10/5): - It's one of my favourite places I've ever stayed! A lovely peaceful 5km hike up to the hut, through the forests - great if it's cloudy or windy as you're protected. I adored the hut itself. Sitting by the fire, drinking coffee and reading a book while looking out over the lake and glacier was pure bliss. The staff were the best. There were just 3 of us staying so we had dinner by candlelight all together. They're such cool, interesting, welcoming people. The room was really cozy and had everything I needed. Loved listening to the wind outside while being warm and snug in my bunk! Puesto Cagliero has definitely been a highlight of my Argentina trip and I'd love to go back. Absolutely nothing. It exceeded my expectations.

• Land (10/5): We stayed here on our honeymoon and had the best 2 days of exploring and relaxing! - We loved staying here. The staff were warm and welcoming! The food was delicious after long days of hiking, and my husband is gluten free and all the food for him was homemade and fresh, which is very rare! The room was cozy, private and the showers were very hot! You can truly disconnect and relax here, and recharge before heading back to the city. We loved all the trails in the park, and had a couple very big days of hiking since you have to back track back to the visitor centre for most of the hikes. Truly magical place and would highly recommend! Nothing, everything was great!
• Jay (10/5): Perfect cabin looking over a glacier - The staff, food, location, and views were incredible. This was our favorite stay of the entire trip and we're glad we went for two nights to fully soak it in. This is a refugio so we knew to expect certain limitations when it came to creature comforts, but we were pleasantly surprised that the shower was extra hot and not limited in length as in some refugios. Nothing, it was exactly what we wanted!
• Andres (9/5): Amazing, outstanding, from another world. - Great place in a dream spot. Amazing views, great trail to reach the Puesto Cagliero. Two to three hour walk in a beautifull forrest walking close to a turquoise river. Trai wasn't difficult. Simply amazing. Went through a different trail when coming down to discover two amazing lagoons, specially the Blue Lagoon. A must see. Not much to comment. Just a minor thing, no desert at lunchtime.
• Mary (10/5): Peaceful retreat in one of the most unique places to stay - It was a nice little hike to reach this hut right at the base of the glacier, but it was even more beautiful in person that we could have expected. The room was quiet and comfortable and the hosts went above and beyond to make us comfortable and relaxed. Every meal was incredible and this was the perfect place to stay for a day of rest and feeling at home between stretches of hiking.
• Ana (10/5): Exceptional - The price per night is a bit off-putting, but I'm so glad we splurged on this one night of our trip! The landscape in Los Huemules estancia makes for an incredible hike to and from the refuge, so a day trip for lunch would be totally worth it on its own, but getting to spend the night in such a beautiful setting in the cosiest of refuges was such a treat. Even in cloudy weather the view to the lagoon and glacier was spectacular, and getting to enjoy it inside with a warm drink and a book next to the fire was heaven. We also had some of the best meals of our trip here, with special mention to Marco's sourdough bread! Thank you for an unforgettable stay 🙏
• Stephen (10/5): Outstanding place to Xmas Eve. - Amazing place to spend Xmas Eve. Extraordinary environment and views. Sky at night is spectacular. Food was excellent and the level of care put into lunch, dinner, drinks and general comfort by the hosts Marcus and Cecelia was really appreciated. They had some champagne for bringing in Xmas Day. Would love to go back in the future. Hike there are back is really beautiful and unlike other hikes in the area. Office staff that help coordinate you visit were also helpful - they ordered a ride at the bottom of the trail on Xmas Day for me.
• Jamie (10/5): Exceptional - Puesto Cagliero was a perfect place to stay for a couple nights after a few long hiking days. The hike through the nature reserve is ~6km, and took us about 2 hours. It was a beautiful walk though, going by lakes, through the forest along the river, until it opens up as you get close to the lodge and get views of the mountains and glacier. Since the lodge is in the nature reserve and you have to hike to it, that also keeps the crowds away which was also lovely. People do hike up just for lunch, but we were really glad we stayed the night. On our first night, we were the only guests and the second night a few other people came which was a nice mix. The lodge is definitely rustic, but the views are incredible, the lodge is really cozy, and the food was tasty When you arrive, they prepare dulce de leche crepes, which were such a nice treat. It's a perfect place to relax, with beautiful views of the glacier, reading a book by the wood stove, with a glass of wine or beer. Our room had bunk beds that could sleep three, but we were two and had the room to ourselves. The beds were comfortable and warm, and we also had a private bathroom /shower in the room which was really nice. The hosts (Marco and Cecilia) were also wonderful, really attentive and lovely to talk with. We had varied and ample meals, with pasta one night, butternut squash soup and lentil stew another night, and pizza and salad for lunch one day with a boxed lunch to-go another. All were really tasty. The stay was a little expensive, and beer / wine were not included in the price. For us though, we thought the views, the solitude, and the hospitality made it worth the price.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Die Berghütte Puesto Cagliero liegt herrlich einsam oberhalb des Sees mit freiem Blick auf den Gletscher. Nirgendwo in den Alpen würde man eine solche Sicht auf einer kleinen Berghütte genießen können - hier ist es möglich. Preislich nicht unbedingt für jeden erschwinglich, allerdings erlebt man unvergessliche Hüttenabend mit anderen Wanderern und dem höchste freundlichen Personal.

• fiona (10/5): - This is an amazing experience. A luxury hut on the edge of a glacier. It is about 40 minute drive from El Chalten and then it took me 2hrs 20 minutes to walk to the hut. The only way to get to the hut is by foot. The accommodation and food is great, the views amazing. It is warm and clean. Rooms are all bunk beds I believe. I loved it and stayed 2 nights. No actual trails from the hut to go walking from yet though they plan to create some in the future. But I spent a day just relaxing, staring out at the incredible view, reading and relaxing. No wifi of course. I high recommend.
