Beatrice (6/5): Easter stay at Sairock - Good location! If you love the beach, it's just right there! Budget friendly... They could do more with a bit of painting and rust resistance. The taps are rusty and there was a leakage from the upper floor just right at my window. If they did a bit of renovation, the place would attract more visitors!!

Joseph (6/5): I'mBelow average - The Bar staff Mr.Edward Kombe was very knowledgeable and engaging. His service was Top notch and he took time to show me around the hotel. He also acted as Resident DJ which was beyond his duties.The other staff are also good except for Receptionist who booked us in. The Food and Facilities were quite underwhelming. Breakfast had Very little option with some hidden from the menu hence not sure to order or not Rooms are quite dated with rusty taps, salty water which had a pungent smell and the receptionist who booked us in competed in giving us the worst room available yet most rooms were unoccupied.

JANE (1/5): Renovation needed urgently - I didn't like anything, the pictures were different from what we got. Not what I expected. The rooms were terrible, not worthy what i paid. The beds were in bad state, toilet and bathrooms were terrible and the fridge was worse.i can't recommend it to anyone. I was so disappointed and couldn't extend my stay. The mattresses and pillows were uncomfortable. TV dead, phone dead. Bathroom water too salty couldn't brush with it.

Stephen Aloo (3/5): The hotel requires a renovation. - The food was genuinely good, and the waiters were kind, professional, and did their best to make the stay bearable. They were the only redeeming part of the negative experience. Online photos can be very deceiving. I had one of the worst hospitality experiences at Sai Rock. That experience reinforced why relying solely on photos and reviews from platforms like Booking.com can be extremely misleading. Nearly three months before our December family trip, we carefully scouted and booked a one-week stay in Mombasa. Sai Rock’s proximity to the beach and the room photos online made it look like a great option. Unfortunately, the reality upon arrival was shocking. Because we had already made advance payments, we were effectively locked in. The bathrooms were in a very poor state—broken sinks, damaged doors, terrible tiling, and generally dilapidated facilities. The swimming pool itself is a decent size, but the pool deck was consistently dirty, and the pool beds were worn out and uncomfortable. More concerning was the electrical setup, especially around the bar area, where exposed wiring posed clear safety risks. And then there was the gym—honestly, a complete write-off. The roof panels looked like they were about to cave in at any moment, the equipment was old, rusty, and clearly not maintained, and the entire space was poorly ventilated with no air-conditioning at all. It felt less like a gym and more like an afterthought that hadn’t been touched in years. For a hotel that markets itself as a resort, this was not just disappointing, it was unsafe and unacceptable. A gym should not feel like a structural risk zone. In all honesty, Sai Rock Mombasa needs to close temporarily, undergo serious renovations, and only reopen once it meets basic hospitality and safety standards. As it stands, it feels like a property that is being run without reinvestment or attention to detail.

Man hat eine Art Freundschaftliche Beziehung zu den Angestellten gepflegt und wir würden gut aufgenommen. Außerdem wurden uns auch verschiedene Orte oder Aktivitäten empfohlen, die man online nicht auffinden kann und haben so nochmal etwas aus der Kultur selbst entdecken können. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut. Direkt am Strand, viele Malls und gute Anbindungen um weiter weg zu kommen. Das Essen war ebenfalls sehr gut und es gab eine große Auswahl. Im Allgemeinen ist das Hotel definitiv zu empfehlen. Perfekte Basis zum wohlfühlen und um Mombasa zu erkunden.

And one of your staff by name Joyce was more friendly,helpful, though all your staff were excellent. Well you bar is excellent but there was no entertainment, thus music, the TV is consigned to a particular area denying guests on the side viewing

The water from the showe and taps were very salty as though it was pumped straight from the sea. Breakfask was not a buffet, so there was a very limited selection.

Celia (3/5): Subpar. - 1. Nice view of the sea and the beach 2. Hot water in shower Hotel has dated, incongruous décor and lots of unused space, looked neglected. Made me feel my stuff wasn't safe because of a sign on the room door of the denying liability for lost property. My room wasn't clean when I checked in, I cleaned my surfaces myself. I had asked for an iron box, which they came to collect 2 hours after I checked in. They came up to my room without announcing first and interrupted my evening. Room phone didn't work. Had old looking towels. Water in the taps wasn't desalinated. The WIFI signal was erratic, I had to use hotspot on my phone to work online. Staff were aloof and unfriendly, especially in the dining area, only greeting some guests. Multi colored lighting in the room instead of dim option was so odd like being in a club. My room was next to the alley leading to the beach so there was noise and shouting in the evenings. The part of the beach next to the hotel was not clean, I stepped in animal droppings near the property. They wanted my friend to pay freshen up in my bathroom for a few minutes and had dirty public restrooms. Run down room furniture. Unremarkable breakfast. Honestly, felt my visit wasn't valued. We were there for a scientific conference and we are always on the look out for places where we and our colleagues can stay for such events. I would not recommend this hotel to my group.

Muthoni-elizabeth (3/5): I will not be returning, there are so many other nicer places even on that same beach. - The staff were friendly and the sheets were clean The beach was nice Unfortunately this hotel is falling apart everywhere you look! It is dated, furniture is broken the bathroom fixtures are corroded and the water is salty and cold, Fortunately the weather was very hot and we could shower. The pools look good in photos but there are many broken tiles and the empty jacuzzi is a safety hazard. So too are the numerous flying power lines clearly visible in corridors and dining room. The only good things about this place were the location on a nice beach and the friendly but sometimes insufficiently trained staff. It would be helpful if the dining room staff could tell guests what is in the food being served.
