• Rachel (9/5): The perfect place for a peaceful holiday! - This was our second stay at Ananya. We love the location and the peace and quiet. The top floor rooms have the most incredible views and the infinity pool is huge and very clean. The hotel is relatively small so it never felt busy or crowded which was a big plus. Rooms are well maintained and spotless. Breakfast especially the Sri Lankan one is a must and there are some nice things to do nearby including the evening lagoon boat ride with Jacki. It is definitely not a place for loud people/partying but if you're looking for proper peace and quiet this spot is for you! The lunch and dinner menu feels a bit limited if you stay for longer than a couple of days but you can get around this by getting a cab into town or walking to nearby hotels for meals (just make sure to check they're opening times). The staff are generally friendly but tend to be quite distant and made us feel like we were bothering them at times which was a shame...

Ma chambre donnait sur le lagoon juste à côté (n’hésitez pas à demander à la réception de pouvoir faire un tour). Du petit déjeuner au dinner, ma chambre, le personnel, tout était propres, conformes aux photos et professionnels (les employés donc!). La mer est agitée, de ce fait, la piscine nous permet de nous rafraîchir !

Das Frühstück war unser Highlight. Aber auch das Abendessen war gut und direkt am Strand. Der Pool ist auch schön. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und ordentlich, vielleicht ein bißchen in die Jahre gekommen. Aber alles in allem, war dieser Ort der Schönste auf unserer Reise. -

• Chris (9/5): If you want a quiet and serene beach spot, this is it - Walking on the beach here, especially to the east, past the palm trees and occasional fishing boats, and hardly any people, you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to pristine pre-development Sri Lanka. Then you return to the comfort of the view from your room, the lovely big pool, and the absence of the usual street noise because you’re at the end of the road.

• Jens (10/5): Directly in the longest, spotless beach I have ever seen - This is the remote beach dream I was hoping for. Indeed directly in the beach. We walked 2 hours (and there was as still no end of beach to see) and met the first other couple after 1.5hours (beside some fishermen). I didn’t know this would still exists after I have seen so many crowded places in SriLanka. Service was extremely nice and helpful. Really don’t understand some of the other reviews of mixed service experience. We had service at the beach, could stay longer using their facilities post check-out, had super honest recommendations on the food eg what fish is really fresh one, they even brought us a cooler for a wine which we have bought outside at a wine store, for breakfast we enjoyed the oat porridge bowl (try it at least once it’s great) You should not come to this place if you like to have a big party till past midnight, if you are an all-inclusive tourist having music and alcohol all day around … but that makes this a perfect hide-away that these tourist are NOT here. Yes it is not 5 star (but it also doesn’t cost five star) yet all is very very clean. From our 2h walks on the beach we believe it is the only hotel with a true direct beach view from hotel, pool , sunbeds. Nothing (the road to the hotel is a bit bumby but as you don’t like to leave this paradise anymore it really doesn’t matter)

Die Zimmer sind luxuriös und sehr hochwertig ausgestattet, man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an rundum wohl. Besonders begeistert hat uns der nahezu menschenleere Strand direkt vor der Tür. Es gibt ausreichend Liegen, und man kann kilometerweit am Wasser entlangspazieren – einfach traumhaft. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker g und reichlich – ein perfekter Start in den Tag. Wir haben uns hier unglaublich wohlgefühlt und können dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Wenn wir wieder nach Sri Lanka reisen, würden wir definitiv länger bleiben.

Lovely big room, balcony overlooking the pool and beach, perfect location, super quiet, high quality food (and prawn curry was ordered more than once, and the Sri Lankan breakfast was great). Being able to have a walk on the beach, swim in the sea, and then jump into the basically private pool (there are 6 rooms, so the likelihood of anyone else being in the pool at the same time is slim) was a delight. Very friendly and helpful staff - fresh (not instant) coffee brought to the room no problem, and they even managed to procure some flip flops from a local shop one morning. Recommend taking up the spa offer, too - the one the hotel recommends (4 minute tuk tuk down the road) is very good. Nothing - great for the price.

• Ilana (10/5): Quiet and relaxing, a good hotel for people who want to be away from the crowds - We spent two nights at Ananya Beach Resort and loved the calm atmosphere and the gorgeous view from our room. The hotel is located near the end of a bumpy dirt road, so you really feel like you're really "away from it all." Some people will love that feeling, but others will find this area too quiet -- it's just a matter of preference. There's a restaurant on the property, and if you want to eat elsewhere there are several other good options that are about a 15-20 minute walk away. One of the benefits to staying somewhere so quiet is that you'll get to see a lot of animals! Water buffalo, monkeys, monitor lizards, dogs, cows, birds. The sunsets were really incredible, too. To reach the town of Tangalle and the more swimmable beaches, it takes 30 minutes by tuk-tuk which the front desk will be happy to arrange for you. Not the hotel's fault at all, but guests should be aware that the waves are really rough here at Rekawa Beach so swimming is not advisable. However, the hotel has a nice swimming pool. Also not really the hotel's fault, but the dirt road is quite bumpy which made the tuk-tuk and scooter rides uncomfortable. If they can improve the road at all, I'm sure all the people in the area would really appreciate it.

Очень много птиц, животных, рядом заросли, где можно их увидеть. Ночью светлячки летают как маленькие Фонарики. В полдень океан спокойнее и мы плавали на волнах, но все равно, надо быть бдительным, волны могут накрыть. А какой романтический ужин нам организовали, это просто супер. Нам приготовили барракуду, она была очень вкусной.Суп на кокосовом молоке, это просто супер, какой он вкусный, нежный! Суп баунти! Спасибо персоналу за его отзывчивость, доброту и внимательность, мы обязательно сюда еще вернёмся! Быстро время прошло.

• elise (10/5): Repos sur la plage - L'emplacement en bord de plage est incroyable! La plage est immense et presque déserte, et il y a de nombreux transats à l'ombre. L'océan est par contre très agité, mais il y a la piscine à débordement pour se rafraîchir. Le restaurant est très bien, au petit déjeuner et dîner. Ils proposent même des encas et cocktails à toute heure. Ils nous ont réservé une très belle promenade en barque sur la mangrove juste derrière l'hôtel au coucher du soleil.
• Anton (10/5): - Small, beautiful beach resort at the nearly private 2,5km beach strip 15km east of tangalle. Staff is lovely, attentive and very welcoming. Pool is clean and directly at the beachfront. private beach has enough chairs for all guest. Bathing/swimming in the sea is possible, though between 11am and 3pm it may be a little bit rough. Balconys of Seaview rooms are quite big and especially from the 3rd floor you have a great view of the sunset (but also from the beach itself). In total, can highly recommend and good value for money. It's a little far off and don't expect to get around easily. As always, it pepends on what you're looking for. If you want a relaxing few days in a beautiful beach environment, this isn't even a downside.

Besonders hervorzuheben sind die traumhafte Lage – einsam und direkt an einem menschenleeren Strand –, das großartige Frühstück und der hervorragende Cappuccino. Wer geduldig wartet kann auch Affen aus der Nähe beobachten, die sich in den Bäumen des Hotels verpflegen. Ein paar wenige Dinge (Scharniere und Türgriffe) sind durch das Salz korridiert, das ist aber nur ein optischer Mangel.

We had a stunning view right into the palm trees and could see monkeys playing. The pool was lovely and the chill out area at the beach hit the spot. Perfect location to unwind :) In our opinion, the place would be even better if they would offer a more holistic retreat feel on-site - offering yoga or Pilates, maybe some more healthy food options as well. But that’s just an idea - the stay was close to perfect! The beach was stunning - however, the beaches directly at Tangalle were even cleaner. Just a small issue we had (being picky) were the lounge chairs which were covered in black leather - not the best material plus got sizzling hot in the sun. A change in those would be a good upgrade. It’s a little off the beaten track so if you don’t just want to lay at the beach all day we would recommend hiring a scooter to have the option to explore + check out more Restaurant options as there aren’t many on the beach front.

Le coin est très intime, nous avions l'impression d'avoir une plage privée. La chambre dépassait nos attentes et tout était très propre et le personnel très accueillant. Nous aurions apprécié une petite attention pour notre lune de miel, mais tout était quand même parfait. À garder en tête que l'endroit est un peu isolé des marchés, villes, mais ce qui est parfait pour se reposer pleinement.

Ich finde nur generell das Sri Lanka ein großes Hundeproblem hat und wie alle die fast verhungerten Tiere weg jagen, da brennt das Herz. Aber das hat jetzt nix mit der Unterkunft zu tun. Sie ist echt klasse und wir werden wieder kommen 🤗

• Steven (8/5): Beautiful hotel but not much round it - Very clean and rooms were beautiful. The property was far out from tangelle town, so not many places for food other than the hotel and the last service for food is 8.30/9pm. After this there's nothing nearby for food or water.

• Helen (10/5): Stunning views and the kindest staff - The most beautiful setting for a hotel on a quiet beach. The only sounds of crashing waves. You can walk or miles. Beautiful balcony’s and views. We stayed for 5 nights at the end of a 2 weeks visit to SL. Janith and his team are kindest staff you’ll ever meet. Nothing is too much trouble, always attentive and food & choices are delicious and freshly cooked. We also enjoyed a bonfire and supper on the beach for Christmas Eve. We will definitely return and don’t hesitate to recommend. Nothing

• Beryl (9/5): Geweldig verblijf en raden het zeker aan! - Omdat vrienden van ons verbleven in het nieuwe hotel van Ananya, namelijk Arinna hotel. Het was geweldig. Net paar dagen open en we waren de eerste die er sliepen in ons huisje. Geweldig uitzicht op de zee, prachtig zwembad en een heerlijke ligging. We hebben heerlijk gezwommen in de zee en het eten is uitmuntend lekker. Wachten op lunch of diner duurt helaas wel lang. Hebben meer dan een uur gewacht.
• Christine (9/5): Tolles Hotel in wunderbarer Lage ♥️ - Wunderschöne Unterkunft in ruhiger Lage mit einem tollen, sauberen und großen Pool. Der Blick vom Balkon aufs Meer ist fantastisch. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und preiswert und der junge Mann, der uns empfangen und verabschiedet hat, super freundlich. Der Service beim Essen sollte unbedingt verbessert werden, man wartet teilweise lange, obwohl Personal verfügbar ist und miteinander plaudert. Mich hat es nicht gestört und es ist wunderbar, direkt am Meer zu sein, wer einen leichten Schlaf hat sollte allerdings wissen, dass die Wellen hier ziemlich stark sind und man das auch recht laut im Zimmer hört. 😀 Die Dusche könnte heißer sein. Ansonsten top. 👍

• jemma (9/5): Great, very chilled stay - We were in room 6 and got a balcony with a great view of the beach and the lush green on the other side. The pool was super clean and the beach was pretty empty with comfortable chairs. Had the most delicious crab curry there would 100% recommend! We booked this last minute due to cancelling tea country so hadn’t done much research and the only thing was it wasn’t that close to anything and the road was a bit bumpy getting to it which didn’t make our taxi driver hugely happy!
• Clemence (9/5): - Amazing location, the beach is so quiet and beautiful ! The food is good, fresh. The team is very nice, helpful and not intrusive, just the right balance. The rooms are clean. There is a nice lagoon just behind the hotel full of wonderful birds.

This is the most perfekt stay if you looking for peace and quiet and very nice room with a view over the sea and the pool. The food is excellent and the personell are very warm and helpful. Highly recommended! Nothing at all to complain about

• Alain (10/5): Fantastische Unterkunft, um vom Alltag abzuschalten. - Dies war einer besten Unterkünfte, auf denen ich je war. Die Lage ist fantastisch, man hat den Strand praktisch für sich selbst. Das Personal ist überragend und die Zimmer sehr gemütlich. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker und man kann täglich zwischen mehreren Optionen auswählen. Auch das Hoteileigene Restaurant ist gut. Ich fand den Aufenthalt perfekt.

• Mateusz (10/5): A perfect, peaceful oceanfront retreat with excellent service and beautiful surroundings. - A beautiful and very intimate place right by the ocean! Our stay at this hotel was fantastic – a perfect location to relax by the pool or on the beach, with no noise or tourist entertainment. Pure peace and relaxation! The staff were very helpful, and both the breakfasts and other dishes from the menu were excellent. If I ever return to Sri Lanka, I would definitely spend a few days at this hotel again.

• Julia (9/5): Well located hotel where you feel welcome - Located right on the beach, surrounded by nature. Staff is extraordinarily welcoming and kind. They made us feel like special guests. Breakfast very good and what is important coffee was good too. Clean room with comfortable beds, nice terrace with the view to the ocean. Hot water was long to wait, like 5 minutes if not longer. Although cleaning was every day, the towels have been changed only once during a week.

• Frank (10/5): - The perfect quiet beach spot on the southern coast. No crowds here, not even small ones. The restaurant is great and there are a few little restaurants in the area. There's an amazing pool and the facilities are top notch for this segment. Perfect place to kick back and relax.

• Felix (10/5): Very kind staff, great place to relax, probably the best location at the coast in whole Sri Lanka - The location is probably the best in Sri Lanka, being right at Kahandamodara Beach: no people, no big hotels. Only sand, nature and the sea. Couldn't be better! The pool is great with an awesome view to the sea. Romms had everything that was needed - very spacious! The beds had no mosquito net over them. But we only ad 2-3 mosquitos in our room. Food was very delicious! No need to go somewhere else. When we asked, they cooked us the curry "Sri Lankan style" with a very good spice (probably too spicy for most Europeans) - but tasted great. We can highly recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast (pre-order in the evening before required). The staff was very friendly! They helped us with planning our trip during the flooding and gave us valuable information regarding the situation at our next travel stations. We switched our room for the last night. Our first room was in 1st floor and facig backwards. We could only see the palms and no sea. There was a terrace, however very close to the dining area. In the last night we had a room in the second floor facing to the land side. The view was VERY good and the room location was way better than the first one. I would definitely recommend to stay on the second floor minimum if you are facing to the land side. Otherwise the view would be restricted.

• Simon (10/5): Entspannung pur - eindeutige Hotelempfehlung - - geräumige, saubere Zimmer - Anlage gut gepflegt und sauber - Zimmer mit seitlichem Meerblick haben aus den Fenstern heraus einen wunderschönen Blick ins grüne (ab und zu inklusive Affen) und vom Balkon einen direkten Meerblick - lediglich 12 Zimmer - Zum Frühstück gibt’s die Auswahl aus vier verschiedenen lokalen Gerichten oder Eierspeisen, Toast, Obst, etc. - Mittag- und Abendessen waren immer lecker und gut zubereitet (zu üblichen Preisen, nicht überteuert) - bequeme und ausreichend Liegen am Strand - Lage: etwas abgeschieden, daher sehr ruhig mit paradiesischem Strand

• Pia (10/5): En pärla i paradiset - Det är andra året vi bor på Ananya! Det är en otrolig plats. Rummen är stora och fräscha med bra duschtryck och en fantastisk balkong. Förra året hade vi en med havsutsikt men i år fanns det bara sidoutsikt, lika fint det. Gott om solsängar finns mellan den ljuvliga poolen och havet med kilometerlånga ren, fin strand. Skugga under palmerna för den som så önskar. Maten är bland den bästa vi haft under våra år på Sri Lanka. Prova gärna Lankesisk frukost. Min man är vegetarian och det finns mycket gott att äta även för honom. Personalen är väldigt hjälpsamma och trevliga. Wifi är perfekt både till arbete och nöje. Kan inte komma på ett enda fel.

Das Essen hat uns auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt! Der Abschied - wären gerne noch länger geblieben. Es war wirklich sehr erholsam.

• Julia Sri Lanka (10/5): Traumhafte Anlage in ruhiger Lage direkt am Strand - Hier konnten wir nach unserer vorher sehr aktiven Rundreise ein paar Tage wirklich entspannen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer ganz oben mit traumhaftem Ausblick nach allen Seiten und vom Balkon direkten Blick auf das Meer. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, aber nicht aufdringlich und das Essen war insgesamt sehr lecker! Absolut empfehlenswert, weiter so! Der einzige Nachteil ist der holprige Anfahrtsweg auf den letzten 2 km, aber da es sich um eine öffentliche Straße handelt, kann das Hotel nicht wirklich etwas daran ändern.
