• Kate (8/5): I never saw any staff. It is a working farm and it was nice to have the whole guest house to myself. - I had the property to myself as there were no other guests at the time. It was a little dirty in places eg cutlery drawer and kettle.

• Noreen (10/5): Simply perfect! - Beautiful property with all that you could possibly need or want. Tough drive in snow from Höfn, was rewarded with a stay in this gorgeous property. Really comfortable bed, gorgeously decorated room. Simply perfect. Absolutely nothing!
• Badrinath (7/5): Decent accommodation, and convenient access to ring road. - It was just a room with 2 double beds and an attached bathroom for a family of 4. There is a glass door that opens into the larger common area. Looks like an ideal spot for northern lights viewing assuming all other conditions are met. Privacy is a consideration one should look into. The common kitchen facilities are open only between certain hours and may not fit in well with your travel plans. The door didn’t lock, and even though Iceland is considered a safe place, I’m not sure I would like to leave my room unlocked and head out for tourist activities.

• EJ (10/5): Auroras visible from the porch! - Loved having the little cottage to ourselves. It had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. We were hoping to sign up for breakfast but were told on arrival that it was too late to make arrangements the night before. This was not a dealbreaker because the grocery was only 10 minutes away and there were ample pots/pans. Just be aware that you must make arrangements in advance (and that was not an option through Booking.com !) Also shampoo would have been nice.

• Celina (6/5): Nice bedroom, bad bathroom - The bedroom was nice and clean. The sheets were white and it was roomy. Parking was easy. The bathroom smelled of wet towels when we arrived and it was a bit overwhelming. We closed the door so the smell wouldn’t go into the bedroom. We were not a fan of the grey towels since you can’t check well if they are clean or not. Overall we enjoyed the stay except for the bathroom.

Pedit mukavat, huone siisti, maisemat mahtavat ja sijainti hyvä, jos kohteena Etelä-Islanti. Auto parkkiin, Selfossin Bónuksen pakastepizzat uuniin, illallinen aamiaishuoneessa ja nukkumaan. Täällä voisi varmasti hyvin nähdä revontulia, sillä valosaastetta ei ole juuri lainkaan. -

• William (Bill) (9/5): Good location for South Coast sightseeing. - The location near Iceland's South Coast and ferry was pretty good, and the reason I picked it over other accommodations. Our unit had a private bath joining our room. Some rooms shared a bath. Coffee was provided to be self made in the public area. The room was too small to set up two suitcases. We constantly had to step over our bags. No one from the hotel was on site to answer questions, especially about kitchen items, like where to find paper towels and condiments. No daily maid service. Soap and shampoo were in plastic packets that were hard to open with wet hands in the shower. Like European old style, the bed mattresses were two twin size mattresses with a gap in the center.
• Magdalena Anna (7/5): Ok - Das Zimmer hat eine gute Größe für zwei Personen. Die Lage ist recht abgeschieden, daher sicherlich gut um Polarlichter zu beobachten. Leider war das Zimmer, insbesondere das Badezimmer/ Dusche, und auch die Küche nicht sehr sauber. Die Küche und die Geräte wie z.b. der Ofen und die Küchenfront sind schon sehr abgenutzt.

Cozinha compartilhada equipada, quarto confortável O que é o diferencial em relação à Aurora acaba sendo também o ponto fraco: muito afastado de tudo. Pra coisa: moscas no quarto e na cozinha. Talvez pela proximidade de animais ao redor da propriedade.

• Keisuke (10/5): 他の宿泊者と上手くやる必要があるかもしれませんが、とても理想的なゲストハウス。 - ゴールデンサークル回った後に次の日氷河湖に行く予定で宿泊しました。部屋は日本人的にはありがたい、入り口で靴を脱ぐスタイル。家族で利用しました。ベッドはクイーンとソファーを変形させてベッドにする２つ、椅子や机もあり。シャワートイレは見た目よりは使いやすかった。キッチンは共用で物品は揃っており、調味料はオリーブ油と塩くらい。コンロは4穴のIH。部屋にはDVDプレイヤーがあり、共用スペースにDVDが用意されていて子供たちはオーロラ観測待ちの間暇つぶしになっていました。外は灯りが少なくオーロラ観察にはとても向いていました。 共用のキッチンで説明書には朝と夜の使用可能な時間帯が決められているので、特に朝にキッチンを使用する宿泊客が多いと少し大変かもしれません。

• Suzanne (6/5): - We didn’t really have contact with any staff during our stay. We had pre paid and you called a phone number to check in. We needed more towels but did not have a ready way to contact staff. The radiator in our room did not work. We believed breakfast was included as did some other guests only to find out that was not the case. On a positive note it was clean and guests could use the kitchen if they wanted to.

• Susan (9/5): Overall, it was great, but it’s a place for tall people apparently - The location was nice and the facility was super clean. There was no staff anywhere though and the mirror in the bathroom was so high that I couldn’t even see myself. I’m only 5 foot three. They need to adjust their mirrors for people of all heights. That royally sucked.

Cependant, nous n’avons jamais rencontré l’hôte et nous avons du l’appeler via un téléphone présent dans le gîte afin qu’il nous donne le numéro de notre chambre. De même nous ne l’avons pas trouvé au check-out. Nous avons trouvé ça un peu étrange.

The floor was not that clean and I didn’t feel comfortable with no shoes on my feet! Flies everywhere, in the kitchen, bathroom and my room! Yes, there’s kitchen but you can only use from 5 to 8 pm! Not breakfast time because they made to order breakfast ! No daily cleaning! Area is nice and peaceful! Also when you enter you need to call them to get your room, no on site person. if you don’t speak English or Icelandic, or other European languages, that may be a problem.

A large Smart TV that we were able to log into our Disney+ and PrimeVideo to enjoy while it was raining It is little more to drive to popular attractions but worth it!

• Marion (10/5): Wie aus dem Bilderbuch - 2 weiße Isländer direkt vor der Tür haben das ganze Bild perfekt gemacht. Sehr gemütlich mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Am liebsten hätten wir den süßen Hund 🐕 des Hauses mitgenommen, der in der Früh kurz vorbeigekommen ist.

Larger amounts of toiletries would have been nice. - The view was great and the Icelandic horses in the front yard were a real bonus. The kitchen area was clean and well appointed. Additionally the breakfast options were very nice. The shower was very small. It worked for a small to average person but my husband is a big man, 240, 6.2, and could not turn around inside it. The toiletries were sparse as well.
• Kayla (10/5): Perfect cabin with the sweetest Icelandic horses! - We stayed in the private cabin and it was wonderful! The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing stay after hiking. The kitchen was stocked with all of the essential cookware, dishes, and supplies to wash dishes. We loved the adorable Icelandic horses grazing outside the cabin!!

• Kostas (2/5): Where not to book in iceland - Location. Quiet country side area We were a group of four friends. The room was labeled family room however there was only one single bed and a sofa in the same room. When we arrived the owner open the room and we saw the arrangement. She was rather rude saying that we had to make by ourself the sofa into a sleeping bed. There was no free space to walk around the room. The heating was off . It was like we walked into a trap or a prison. An unfortunate experience 😕 for the few hours we spend there.

• Ashley (6/5): It was ok - The room was clean, well appointed, and quiet. The kitchen area had plenty of dishes, pots, pans, etc. to prepare a meal. There was a shared kettle in the eating area. Our bathroom smelled of sewage, and the door separating it from our main room was a sliding “barn door” style door, meaning the bathroom couldn’t really be sealed off from the rest of the room. This meant the whole room had a faint sewage smell. The barn door was also hard to open/close, so using the bathroom at night meant waking everyone in the room(but we couldn’t just leave it open because of the smell.) The kitchen “rules” were a little annoying and I don’t recall them being mentioned until after we booked. We weren’t allowed to use the kitchen in the morning due to breakfast service. This was a separate fee of $22 each that was only served from 8am to 9:30am. I think it was a typical Icelandic continental style breakfast of breads, cereals, cold cuts, a little fruit, and a waffle bar. Had the meal been offered earlier, we probably would have paid for it, but we needed to leave earlier than 8am. We felt like we had to sneak around the kitchen at 6am to make coffee. Allowing guests to use the kitchen before 7am seems like a possibility, or providing a separate area with a kettle, a toaster, and a few plates/mugs would be very nice.

• Mark (3/5): Keine Weiterempfehlung möglich - Die Mitbenutzung der Küche zum Kochen. Unsere Zimmertür war aus Glas. Das Licht schien die ganze Nacht rein. Nichtmal Ein Kleiderschrank passte in unser Zimmer oder eine Sitzecke. Kein TV Empfang. Nur DVD. Das zubuchbare Frühstück war sein Geld nicht wert.
• Gustav79 (9/5): Very nice for families - The rooms are nice, clean and cozy, our stay consisted of one cottage and a single room. The cottage is well equipped, we had breakfasts and dinners there and could cook and dine comfortably, the single room is clean and nice but very basic, it does the job as a single room should. It's a family business, staff is nice, friendly and communicating. the place is very good, there could be a few slight modifications to make it great - missing a small shelf for soap in the shower. The single room shower needs more air, it humidifies the room and the bed wasn't so comfortable for me. Except for that, it's a really nice place that I would highly recommend.
• Jennifer (10/5): - This is a lovely guesthouse about 10 minutes off of the main road. This meant it was a quiet location, which was actually surrounded by farms and farm animals. It was a beautiful location! We had a small room with a private bath, but there was a shared bath across the hall that was clearly marked that it was only for two rooms to use. We spent some time in the evening chatting with other guests which was fun. We did not stay for breakfast, but it looked like a nice spread and the breakfast room was lovely. Would definitely stay here again!
• Shira (10/5): - The standalone cottage was lovely, with plenty of room for our family with 2 adults and a teenager. It was quiet, clean, and new with a closeup view of the horses. Having our own kitchen in the cottage was a real plus!
