Guest Reviews
- Jackson (10/5): - We had such an incredible stay, and a huge part of that was thanks to the receptionist. She genuinely has a heart of gold. From the moment we arrived she was warm, welcoming and went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed.
Nothing was ever too much trouble, and her kindness and positive energy made a massive difference to our experience. It’s rare to come across someone who cares that much and it really showed.
She made our stay feel special and we’re so grateful. Absolute legend.
- Thomas (9/5): -
- Lyn (9/5): - Great location, in the centre of everything and close to ferry and seafront. Bars quietened down fairly early so sleep wasn't disturbed. Hostess was very welcoming and helpful. Room was good size. Nothing
- raz (9/5): -
- Lieke (7/5): Geweldig - Locatie perfect. Supermarkt om de hoek en dichtbij de ferry.
- Ingeborg Marie Hållman (9/5): -
- Katie (9/5): - Great location, staff were lovely, room was spacious and clean
- Gloria (8/5): The staff were excellent... Responded to our requests promptly - The location is central to everything.... the staff were great. It was good value for what we needed The noisy music from the restaurant across the street was problematic on occasion in the evening..... but it would not stop me from renting in this location if I went back to Caye Caulker
- Niamh (6/5): Very small cramped room, however good location. -
- Andrew (9/5): Good enough for 5 days right near everything not too loud - Good location
Very friendly and helpful staff plus cute dogo (gizmo)
Good AC
Good wifi
Felt safe and secure On par with other places of similar star rating in Belize, hot water was in and out but functional enough.
We arrived earlier, towels were a little moist and one of the pillow cases had lipstick on it but otherwise not bad good for the price, staff provided anything we asked for just didn't want to make a stink about the pillows and towels
Bed could have been more comfortable, was springy
I'm 6 ft and barely fit lol
- Lawrence (8/5): Very enjoyable and relaxing spot. - Well located near some of the best restaurants in the town.
- isabelle (10/5): Je recommande - Le lieu près de tout et du terminal , la communication avec les responsables et leur gentillesse . Tout est facile avec eux !
- Hendy (10/5): -
- Gary (9/5): Good value, great location - Location was perfect, value excellent. It fely lije old Cayr Caulker, not because it was old (some) but because it felt authentically Belizean. The bed was old and worn out. Didn't need or ask for a kitchenette, but at that price. I din't feel like I was paying a lot extra for it. Two people would have to share a shower to have enough hot water.
- Els (10/5): Good value for money - Very clean, good location, great bed and airco, friendly reception.
- Rajiv (6/5): - Good location Very basic.
- Dareece (8/5): -
- Gillian (5/5): - The plug socket melted and nearly caused a fire but for our swift action. This meant that the microwave was out of action (which was one of the key reasons that we booked the accommodation).. The shower was open to the room, so everything felt damp. The room was cramped and sadly we had the room facing the sceptic tank. All in all it wasnt the same value for money as we had had in other rooms on Caye Caulker.
- Michael (8/5): Great, no frills stay as central as it gets in Caye Caulker, with friendly, helpful staff - Location as central as it gets, with coffee right across the street. Staff very friendly and helpful throughout my stay, with extra amenities, recommendation, tips. Sound proofing between rooms could have been better, no power outlet near the bed, hot water would run out with a long shower. It is noisy form the outside too, which was somewhat expected—I'm used to sleeping with white noise and earplugs, and with these, I had absolutely no problem.
- Sabrina (8/5): - Ubicación
- Karina (8/5): -
- Derek (10/5): Amazing stay close to everything and perfect to have your pescefulness at the same time - The locations, staff and everything was perfect Nothing
- Kati (8/5): Easy stay - Close to everything and clean. Super friendly service. Coffee maker and a small kitchen to prepare your own breakfast. So close to everything, it is super noisy. It doesn’t have any soundproofing (like window glass), you can hear all the music from the restaurants and also people speaking all around. The bed was old and you could feel the strings.
- Penbrooke (9/5): It was a good value with friendly staff. - Good location on the Island, and close to everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful when they were there. It was a very functional, good value for the rate we paid. The hotel is near many bars and restaurants with loud music. Granted, we were there on a weekend, but we were still a bit surprised at how noisy the place was.
- Nóra (10/5): I am absolutely satisfied! - Best location.
Very nice owner, the stuff is kind and and very supportive!
My apartment was super clean! I liked everything!
- Lee (7/5): -
- Tasha (7/5): - Great location and reasonable price Very small and dingy room. The bathroom doesn’t have floor to ceiling walls.
- Elis (10/5): -
- Allison (10/5): Perfect location and a nice quiet spot! - The property was very charming and in a perfect location! We booked it last minute to escape some of the craziness of the new year party over in San Pedro, and we absolutely loved it. It is more basic on the overall features, but has everything you need to be comfortable!
It was directly across the street from a wonderful restaurant as well as walking very close by for other restaurants, shops, coffee, places, etc. The location is absolutely fabulous. The staff was very responsive and very kind. The only complaint I would have was that they only had sheets for sleeping and it got a little cooler at night so we would’ve liked something heavier than a sheet to keep us warm.
- Laura (9/5): -
- Megan (6/5): - It was centrally located. I didn’t think it was worth the money. The windows didn’t keep out any noise from the bar across the street and there were cockroaches
- Michèle (8/5): -
- Austin (4/5): My stay was ok. Not sure if i would stay again. - I loke that is was just a walk away from restaurant and the center of town. A grocery store was right nest to it. Also like thenlittle kitchen area. On arriving to the property, the male staff was not really welcoming. We had one of the locals helping us out and he was rude to him. No one checknuo onnus to seenif everything was ok.
- Wolfer (10/5): Very friendly, excellent rooms and service quality - On arrival we we greeted by the very friendly hosts, they gave us all kinds of excellent tips to enjoy our stay on the island. The room is spacious, very clean, good hot showers and room airconditioning and ventilation. I recommend staying here during your stay in Caye Caulker! Everything was perfect!
- Anthony (9/5): - The host was very nice and helped us out with getting some laundry done locally. The room had everything you need and the location was amazing. Nothing
- Hannah (8/5): Wir würden es erneut buchen - Perfekte Lage Auf dem Dach gab es keine Hängematten, die Wände im Badezimmer sind nicht bis zur Decke hochgezogen.
- Friedrich (8/5): - Would come again. The room price might be a bit too high.
- Luuk (8/5): Goed - Vriendelijkheid personeel, locatie Zand (maar das logisch)
- Wenjiang (8/5): A decent stay - Very good location, close to restaurants, shops, tour agencies and not far from the beaches. The facility is very simple, has no amenity.
- Kristin (8/5): -
- Judit (10/5): - We arrived by water taxi, and the hotel was only a few minutes’ walk away – very convenient if you have heavy luggage.
Reception is in a small building in front of the main one, and it doesn’t seem to be staffed all the time.
Our room was a good size and included a kitchenette with a sink, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and fridge (though no cooker).
As we only stayed a couple of nights, we didn’t need room service, but it’s available on request.
The island itself is small and easy to explore on foot.
There’s a restaurant/bar directly opposite the hotel where the music usually stops around 11 pm.
For breakfast, I recommend trying House of Jack’s, just a short walk to the left of the hotel.
Overall, a pleasant stay, and I would be happy to return.
- Maria Isabel (7/5): Pudo ser mejor - Cerca Muy estrecho
- Antriana (8/5): -
- Olivia (10/5): - Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and handy location
- Kirsten (10/5): Overall it worked for our stay to dive and explore the Caye. - Great staff and location It was a bit loud with the music from the restaurant across the street until the restaurant closed around 11:30 ish
- Clayton (6/5): good value, staff was helpful , - Easy to find close to the water taxi The location was a bit noisy , loud music was across the street , but did quit around 10:00 PM. after that nice and quiet
- Hector (9/5): Superb -
- Hoang (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Jonathan (5/5): The staff was great , but the room was to small and the noise to loud - The room. Was too small for two beds and the outside noise was too loud and too late
- Tyrus (8/5): Very good -
- Andre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mackenzie (8/5): Very good -
- Seth (9/5): Great value, great location, great management - Celina and her team were incredible. The place is kept clean, safe, and there's a great vibe because Celina and her team really care.
- Timothy (10/5): A wonderful experience in one of the most beautiful area’s. - The staff is amazing! Perfect location. Easy walk to great eats, beach, and activities. Highly recommend this place. Although Gizmo the little, fluffy property dog only wanted petting and mini sausages. I will return here soon. Nothing.
- Kimmywanders (8/5): Great Stay on Caye Caulker - Nice stay in perfect location for Caye Caulker. Great choice for an adventurous week on the island as the villa has everything you need. It was quite large and full of amenities-- kitchen with fridge and microwave, coffee maker, plenty of dishes/cutlery, etc. I had 2 beds, plenty of storage options, ceiling fan, table with seating, large bathroom area included tub/shower. Right across from the Villas is a good bar/restaurant that I enjoyed a few times, and also for takeout. The island is small enough that anything and everything you could possibly need is within 5-15 minutes walking. I did not find it necessary to have a golf cart. I would certainly stay again. The windows weren't actual glass so the noise from the bar is more noticeable until about midnight. I am a night person so it didn't bother me, but recommend earplugs if you're trying to sleep early. A light blanket could have been helpful, it was cooler at night.
- Aisling (7/5): Good - Great staff and location. Pretty basic rooms but has everything you need. Quite loud at night from local bars
- Helen (7/5): Nice hotel but too loud with night club across road; bring your best sound cancelling ear plugs!! - Friendly and helpful staff; when a promised coffee maker was not in the room, I was provided with a portable stove top which at least enabled me to heat water for coffee etc. The TV did not work and I was told that a new one was to be installed but this did not happen. Air conditioner worked well. Free water during the office hours. Bed was comfortable. Location is very good for access to the ferry, restaurants and tour providers - BUT... SEE BELOW. I barely had any sleep for the three nights I stayed at this hotel as the restaurant across the road plays music, sometimes until midnight and then patrons stay on in the area around making more noise. Although it's not that loud, you can hear it all as the room only has shutters which do not block out any sound. As it's a busy area, things start to get noisy again from about 6.30-7pm. If I was to stay in Caye Caulker again I would find somewhere away from the busy area as it seems that rooms are not sound-proof. Even ear plugs did not block out the sound.
- J.p. (8/5): Value property on the Caye. - Great location right in the middle of the action at Caye Caulker. Powerful AC, arctic like despite the 30C weather. Really friendly and helpful host (thank you Alina!). The grounds are a bit rough, but that's sort-of the norm on Caye Caulker - rough around the edges. The room was very small for 3 people, with no storage for suitcases/cloths etc. Tight stay, but well priced given how expensive this little island is.
- David (7/5): Loud but nice - The rooms are large with all the amenities you would want. Showers have hot water. The noise. The restaurant across the street plays music until midnight every night and there is no soundproofing/glass on the windows (only shutters).
- Carol (10/5): Will return - It was clean Nothing
- Diane (9/5): Superb -
- Ingela (10/5): Exceptional - We liked the hot showers (always available). We used the A/C a few nights when it was really humid. Our room was very quiet and clean. The fridge was very much appreciated. The location is great (close to everything). Selena was always cheerful and helpful. Marcilena looked after us on the weekend. The best staff.
- Adelaide (5/5): Okay if you have no other choice - I liked that it was in a central location. Only one outlet in the room and no outlets by the bed.
Noisier than I'd like;
Pretty basic accommodations, with very little in way of storage (no dresser, no cupboard, no shelf in the bathroom).
- Robert (10/5): I good central place to settle in and enjoy your stay - We enjoy relaxing and making our own meals between adventures and this was a perfect place for us. Also the roof top offered beautiful views. Unnecessary late night tourist noise, but that was everywhere.
- Petersen (10/5): Nicest place I've stayed so far - Celina was so kind and kept the place very clean. Roof top has a great view. Yoga accross the street and everything else is just a few steps away It was all great
- Molly (8/5): A nice place to stay when you want to enjoy the island. - Great location and beautiful building, lovely staff. It’s a bit old fashioned but as are most things on the island.
- Frank (7/5): Good -
- Rick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dominic (2/5): Great staff, way too loud and a bit gross - Relatively central on island and Melanie was amazing - so welcoming I wouldn’t bother staying here unless you are going to party / stay out late every night. Multiple loud bars playing music till at least 1am around, had to sleep with AirPods in every night to drown sound. It was awful. Bedding was dirty and no windows in room. Not the cheapest place either.
- Andreas (8/5): Very good -
- Mateusz (10/5): Had a amazing stay. Very much recommended. - I’ve had an amazing stay at Pancho’s. The room was very clean, spacious and the location is great - its close to the dock so you dont need to haul your luggage plus there is a supermarket just around the corner. Ah the wifi was good.
Very much recommended!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kent (9/5): Highly recommend! Very close to water taxi - Inexpensive, cozy hotel in Caye Caulker and close to the water taxi. Double queen beds available. The hotel manager is very lovely and did her best to accommodate our requests. A bit loud due to the bar across the street. But also, there's a bar across the street for close food options.
- Sophie (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (9/5): Superb -
- Minerva (8/5): Convenient & Comfortable - Central location— close walk from/to the water taxi terminal. Restaurants, banks, golf cart rental, grocery stores and tour companies nearby. Manager was very hospitable and accommodating. Our friend had a day-long snorkeling tour up to 4:00 p.m. and check out time was 11:00 a.m. They were not so busy and let us keep a room for several extra hours at no charge. Really considerate. 🤩 No swimming pool :-) but got direction to a pool with public access.
- Franz (9/5): Superb -
- Marilyn (10/5): Excellent will return - Location & accommodation Requires a small amount of dusting cobwebs
- Marcel (7/5): Nice place if you plan to go to bed late or can sleep through lots of noise - Conveniently located 1-2 minutes away from the water taxi and the main restaurants and shops street. Don't plan to sleep before 1am or so. The pub/restaurant next door plays loud music and the room has poor noise insulation.
- Eva (9/5): Superb - Central location! Staff were super lovely and very very helpful! Plus Gizmo is the best staff member!!!
- Kiera (10/5): Amazing host Celina who will take care of you - Good size room, WiFi and a/c worked well and great location. On top of this, I was very unwell during my stay and Celina went above and beyond to help me - she called and opened up the doctors on Sunda y, drove me there and back, and kept checking on me in the days following my visit. Not to mention cleaning up my room after I had vommited everywhere and extending my stay until I was able to move. I can’t say how much I appreciate her help and kindness! Definitely stay here, she’ll take care of you Beds could have been comfier
- Christopher (9/5): Great, affordable option for a nice stay in Caye Caulker - The hotel staff exceeded our expectations with their friendliness and willingness to assist. They promptly provided extra towels upon request, offered restaurant recommendations, and even supplied bottled water, including a 5-gallon cooler bottle for refills. Conveniently located within walking distance of the water taxi, the hotel sits on a quieter side street off the main bottleroad. Across the street, there are two restaurants/bars, and a fantastic pizzeria is right next door. Noise was never an issue during our nine-day stay, as the bars typically quieted down around 10 pm. The room and property were impeccably clean, featuring a comfortable kitchenette and beds. A private balcony and a charming gated courtyard with a picnic table added to the appeal. Any concerns about safety expressed by a previous reviewer were unfounded and really absurd; both locals and staff were exceptionally welcoming and hospitable. We're already planning our return trip and will undoubtedly choose to stay here again.
- Westervelt (8/5): Very good - The space was exactly as presented. It was clean and the air conditioning was excellent. The beds were comfortable, as well. The back bedroom was great, but it was hard to use the futon in the front room. The hotel is across the street from a restaurant which hosts a Happy Hour from 9 - midnight. You could hear the music and the patrons easily when in the front room, which made it impossible for the kids to sleep in that space. The A/C was also in the back room and the front stayed quite warm even when the door between the spaces was open. We ended up moving the futon mattress to the back room so that everyone could sleep.
- Imran (9/5): Superb -
- David (8/5): Very good - Good location . Very small room
- Emily (6/5): Pleasant - Staff were lovely and made every effort to resolve any issues and meet any requests.
Right in the centre of town.
Kitchen to cook own meals.
Aircon.
They clean the apartment and change linens/towels as requested.
We had no issues with the wifi and both work remotely. Kitchen was lacking most of the basic things needed to cook and prepare food. E.g there is a sign in the kitchen asking guests to wipe up after use but no cloths, dishwashing liquid, sponges etc were provided.
Being right in the centre of town is convenient but has its drawbacks. It is quite loud at night, mostly due to the busy restaurant/bar across the street (which is worth a visit) and the apartment is not sound proof. The restaurant closed by about 11pm every night and after that things were peaceful.
We needed something last minute and this apartment was adequate. However, we stayed in a cabin near by prior to this that was considerably cheaper and better equipped. I am aware that this is set at a budget price point but did a fair amount of research and if you book in advance you can definitely find better for less.
- Hefty (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing service, people were incredibly nice and helpful in anything needed done on the island
- Jane (8/5): Very good - Staff very welcoming and helpful. Comfy bed. Good sized room. Nice shower and towels. Kitchenette only has micro and coffee maker, nowhere to heat water. No bottle opener (!) Very dusty on balcony but that's not their fault, the whole island is dusty. And for me it was too noisy in the evening as right opposite restauarants.
- Jean (9/5): Superb -
- Ethan (9/5): Lovely stay in paradise - Simple but clean rooms in a perfect location. The building is a bit old, but perfect for the price.
- Gary (8/5): Very good value. Very accommodating staff. Close to restaurants, beach, attractions - Secure, comfortable, central location. Restaurant next door has loud music very late into the night.
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (10/5): Wonderful experience! - The price was such a great value! The room was very clean and had everything we needed. It wasn’t fancy but very comfortable. The location couldn’t be better, right in the middle of everything. We had no trouble sleeping even with a very popular restaurant across the street(which I also recommend) as the bedroom was at the back of the property making any street noise negligible. We (2 women traveling together) felt very safe during our stay. Selena was so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend if you don’t require posh lodgings. So much bang for your buck. A pool would have been nice but the ocean is so close it wasn’t a showstopper. Beds could be a bit less firm but that’s a personal preference.
- Karen (8/5): Great place in Caye Caulker - Clean room with everything we needed- really friendly staff on the front desk who were very kind and helpful. Aircon works well and is nice and cold. Great location just of the main street with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Room just a bit dated and could do with a freshen up.
- James (8/5): Very good - Breakfast? The air con said 18C but that was not real
- Megan (10/5): Exceeded expectations - This was a great budget option for us. Ideal central location near water taxi dock, restaurants, shops, tour agents, yet perfectly quiet at night. Room was clean, adequate hot water, friendly and helpful staff.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mr (3/5): I'll let the photos speak for themselves - The only good point is the location. But we must have had a bad room as we can't understand how all the other reviews are so amazing. So just to begin with, we weren't looking for a free stay - which the hotel owner rudely accused us of. When we arrived at the property there was a random unknown door behind the bed which we thought would be okay. However, in the evening we kept hearing weird noises coming from behind the door. So we contacted the owner of the hotel who said there was no space to move rooms as the place was fully booked. So I then contacted bookings.com priority support to move hotels as we didn't feel safe staying in a room with a random unknown door that is not shown in any listing photos. They took TWO days to reply to an urgent safety concern, at which point our stay was over and we of course didn't want a refund then as we had to stay in this unsafe hotel with zero sleep due to the strange noises behind the unknown door (also drug dealers hang around outside the entrance gate at night - very sketchy). However, the owner then proceeded to call us freeloaders, despite the fact they provided sub par accommodation and refused to help us when we felt unsafe.
On top of all of this, the WiFi never worked in the room which made it impossible to work. The bathroom isn't a separate room (see attached photos) so the room smells like crap the whole time. The shower water smelt like sewage and the fridge was definitely unusable (again see photos).
I'll let the photos speak for themselves and let the owners continue to call us names. It's a shame we had this experience as I was looking forward to staying here based on all the other good reviews. Maybe we just got unlucky. Bookings.com has refused to acknowledge any blame in this situation either. Really upset by the whole situation as bookings.com has zero concern for their customers safety.
