• Ricarda (7/5): Die guten Bewertungen der Unterkunft haben uns enttäuscht - Es war zu Fuß 15 Minuten zum Nationalpark Ballena. Am ersten Morgen waren auf dem Baum gegenüber 7 Aras die wir beobachten konnten. Der Pool war schön. Die Besitzer waren hilfsbereit und nett. Unser Zimmer war sehr dunkel und abseits. Man war direkt an der Straße, die war sehr laut. Die Zimmer waren sehr einfach und eher abgewohnt. Wohlfühlen fiel uns schwer. Insgesamt fanden wir es für die Bewertungen die es hat nicht passend. Da hatten wir uns mehr versprochen. Beim Frühstück musste man wählen zwischen süß oder salzig. Wir hätten gern sowohl Ei als auch Marmelade gewählt. Es war insgesamt okay, aber kein Highlight und im Vergleich mit anderen Unterkünften teuer..

Room was large, beds comfortable with good aircon. Hot water! Pool area was relaxing & clean. Breakfast was delicious in their lovely restaurant next door. Even insisted on parking our motorcycles in their restaurant for security. Highly recommend booking in for dinner. Ferdinand makes an incredible homemade pasta! Nothing!

• Elena (9/5): Отличное уютное место в удобной локации - Огромный красивый номер, куча полотенец, ежедневная уборка, красивая большая территория с бассейном, гамаками, кухней. Очень вежливый внимательный приятный персонал. Настоящий итальянский ресторан на территории. Недалеко пешком до пляжа, вокруг супермаркеты, рестораны, офисы экскурсий. В душе после душа скапливается вода на полу, стелите коврики которые дают, иначе есть риск поскользнутся.

• Nina (9/5): Einfache Zimmer mit tollem Garten - Wir waren nur 2 Nächte dort und hatten etwas Pech mit dem Wetter. Daher konnten wir den wunderschönen Garten mit Pool leider nicht genießen. Die Lage ist fußläufig zum Nationalpark, die Zimmer sind einfach und sehr sauber. Wir würden wieder kommen. Die Gastgeberin ist unglaublich herzlich und gibt viele Tipps. Danke!
• Daniela (8/5): Really Lovely place but expensive to eat. - The owner was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely and pool was brilliant for kids. Also the communal kitchen was great to cook in one night. We loved our stay there but would either self cook or eat out as was expensive to eat there. We had dinner one night and felt it was extremely expensive for what we had. Although it was lovely it was a shock when got the bill working out at £30 per head for a bowl of pasta each and ice cream for pudding. We had a bottle of wine which we knew might be pricey but even so it seemed alot for what we had.
• Rolando (8/5): - Nice hotel, the owners are very nice and they are very helpful. It's a small hotel attached to great Italian restaurant. Great value for money. Definitely would recommend it. If I had to complain about something it would be that it doesn't have inside parking, but no drama with that matter.

• Miloud (8/5): Excellent mais manque un peu de confort - Emplacement excellent, le cadre super, les hôtes au petit soin. Par contre il faut revoir un peu l’état des chambre, lit pas confortables, évier bouché et climatisation qui a besoin d’un rafraîchissement pour fonctionner correctement.
• Kevin (8/5): A friendly, relaxing and comfortable place to stay in Uvita with an excellent chef - Sylvia our hostess was excellent, friendly helpful and generous. Her husband as the chef was highly skilled and produced some amazing Italian food, often cooking to request, which can be accompanied with some excellent Italian wines. Dolce Uvita is a relaxing oasis, created by the wonderful gardens which are alive with birds and butterflies. The pool area is great with areas of shade created by its beautiful garden surround. An outdoor kitchen was available to self cater. Well positioned for the local beaches the only thing we would mention would be that our mattress did need replacing. The other thing I would mention is that the local beaches are within the Marine National Park and there is a small daily fee to enter them.
• Hillary (10/5): - We had a lovely stay! The owners are very kind and responsive and were happy to help us with advice on what to do and booking tours, and also happy to let us do our own thing. The Italian restaurant on site is also run by the owners and it is delicious. Very laid back place, easy going, nice accommodations and a short walk to Marino Ballena Park, beaches, restaurants, and bakeries. As a bonus, at night the garden smells of jasmine. 10/10 would stay here again any time. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

The property is a large garden with pool and outdoor kitchen for guests. The town is small and low key. You can walk to either beach entry. We ordered dinner at our host's Italian restaurant. Ferdinando cooked: it was wonderful. Three great courses. We were off season for whales so will try to come back to Dolce Uvita

Liked the associated Tico food restaurant, didn't try the Italian. Can easily walk to Marina Ballena NP and several restaurants. Mattresses and pillows were at the end of their lives in both rooms we were in (4 beds total).

• Daniel (10/5): Fantastic mini resort run by a great couple. - Dolce Uvita is great location, and definitely likes a small, personal resort. The gardens are pristine, the pool clean and offers two great restaurants. The 'soda' is affordable and offers great food, in addition to various games and a table football, while the Italian restaurant run by the couple running the hotel offers a fully authentic (and fantastic) Italian dining experience. Uvita itself is a great location. I have to thank them once again for the effort they made for my son's 9th birthday, which I'm sure is a memory that will stay with him forever. As with a lot of hotels in Costa Rica the owners have a dog on the premises that will sometimes bark. We have no complaints about this (was true for more then half our stays) but I expect some guests would like to know this in advance.

They were so kind and friendly during our stay. The grounds are gorgeous with lots of flowers and trees, and the pool is the perfect place for a swim after the beach. We loved how close it was to supermarkets and within walking distance of Marino Ballena. I recommend this place for all travelers.

She also gave us many tips on the local area She communicated well and we enjoyed speaking with her about the things we had planned. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We also had access to the pool, a fridge, and cooking area which helped save money on some meals. For the price breakfast could have been provided even if just toast/continental style, especially as there is an onsight restaurant area. Also the bar had a table tennis area and foosball which were fun, but we felt a little uncomfortable with the staff as they were watching loud TV shows/music whilst we were there.

• Anthony (10/5): Old fashioned hospitality hotel - I can’t say enough about our stay in Uvita at Dolce Uvita. Silvia and Ferdinando have done a beautiful job of creating an unforgettable experience. It’s an old fashioned hotel experience the way guests and hosts used to be. The pool, the grounds, the location, the personal chef touch with some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had (I lived in Italy for 2 years). Great place. Don’t book anywhere else.
• Nick (9/5): Great host, authentic experience - The house is very charming and surrounded by a beautiful garden. You can see several species of birds while sitting at breakfast or hanging in the pool. The accommodation is within 10-15 minutes walking of Uvita beach. This is still a quite unspoiled, tropical paradise where you can sit under the palm trees and enjoy life. We were positively suprised. Above all, Sylvia is the nicest host you can have. She helped us with fixing transport, showing the area and told us a lot about the Costa Rican way of life. They also cook great Italian food at their local restaurant. Can recommend if you look for an authentic experience close to nature! The mattress was a bit hard

There is a good cafe/bar on site, where you can get food all day. It's good value for money. The air con is good. The safe isn't attached to the wall, but I'm sure they would hold your valuables at reception if you asked.

The location is close to the beach and makes it so convenient. Thanks again for everything! There is nothing much I can say, besides the bed mattress was a bit too soft, you were quite sinking in. Wasn't too comfortable to sleep.

They helped us even before our stay, arranging trips for us. They cooked a lovely meal for us and nothing was too much trouble. it is a small complex but has everything you need and is an ideal location - walking distance to the ballena national park. if we return to Uvita, we would stay here again. There was nothing we didn’t like.

• Michael (10/5): Little Uvita Resort - We hit a home run when we decided to stay at Dolce Vita for part of our trip. Sylvia and Ferdinando could not have been more friendly and greatly improved our overall experience with their fantastic advice and food. You simply must take advantage of their Italian restaurant and homemade cooking - it was authentically delicious. The property is immaculate. I can't even imagine how much time the owners put into keeping the estate well-manicured and the rooms spotless. I would definitely not hesitate to return and stay there again in the future. • Alexei (10/5): Best of the both worlds - This is a small resort run by an Italian couple from Milano. The place is cozy (garden of flowering trees full of tropical birds) quite and 10 min walk to the beach and park entrance. The room we had was simple but clean and had everything we need including a coffee maker. There is also an open kitchen area. But the best thing is the Italian restaurant where meals are prepared by the husband. Not just pizza and pasta place but sophisticated and delicious Italian dishes. Best Ravioli Alla Boscaiola we ever had! And the owners were with us super-nice so we felt like staying in a family.

• Tanya Lynn (10/5): - This place and the people that own it are absolutely amazing!!!! I couldn’t have booked a better place. They treated you like family and took care of everything. They had an amazing Restaurant right on the property and everything was delicious from Breakfast to Dinner. The owners even went all out for a Christmas Dinner. Sylvia helped me book rides and gave me all the information needed for activities. The location is wonderful because it is so close to the beach and was beautiful to stay in as well. Whenever I come to Uvita, I will be staying there.
• ALBERTO (10/5): - Great location in downtown Uvita, this hotel is attended by it's owners: Ferdinando and Anna Silvia, a very friendly and empathetic Italian couple. They go beyond great attention and make you feel like visiting old friends: they will point you to the many places Uvita and it's surroundings have to offer, including touristic attractions, tour operators and restaurants. Pool and jacuzzi are nice and well maintained, but the hotel main attraction is it's restaurant: there you'll get REAL Italian food, prepared by them, using mainly natural ingredients and following their own family traditional recipes. Go ahead and ask for the specials...dishes that may take up to 5 hours to prepare, but that will leave asking for more! Great food, good location and excellent service. You will love your stay at Dolce Uvita.
• Fabien (10/5): A little gem in Uvita - We stayed one night at Dolce Uvita, and I wish we could have stayed another night or two. Clean, cozy, very good complementary breakfasts, perfectly located to discover Marino Ballena Park in Uvita. Really good home-made italian cuisine served at the property.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Wow. What a find. It was a very comfortable family room with a great AC and shower. The property is beautiful with hammocks, chairs, ping pong table, games, pool and beautiful trees to seat underneath. The beds were very comfortable and the hosts were incredible warm and friendly people who spoke English/ Spanish/Italian and French. The food was probably the best B& B food we have had in Costa Rica. We will definitely go back.
