• Filomena (8/5): Áreas comuns super acolhedoras - A casa é fantástica e o staff muito amável e prestável. Ambiente muito familiar. As áreas comuns são muito acolhedoras e fazem-nos sentir em casa. O pequeno almoço podia ser ligeiramente mais rico, o espaço merece uma maior oferta. O quarto carecia do estilo e decoração que havia nas áreas comuns.

Minha sugestão é que deveria ter um frigobar, para pelo menos ter uma água, e que possa ser armazenado algo necessário, no meu caso, insulina que deve estar em ambiente refrigerado. Mas o hotel me disponibilizou que guardasse na geladeira da cozinha do mesmo. Já fiquei em outra oportunidade, e o que tinha gostado muito, desta vez não foi possível, que era o funcionamento do serviço de janta.

• Mark (10/5): Superb place to stay to get to the real Portugal - Really great place to stay, just outside Evora. It is a short taxi ride in to the centre. The staff were super friendly and accomadation is really good, the room was excellent. It is a bit like staying in someone's home rather than a hotel and the grounds outside were also lovely. Nothing really, such a lovely place to stay

• Jordy (8/5): Een prima verblijf voor een tussenstop! - Het was er heel rustig. We kregen een mooie kamer en het domein was heel mooi om in rond te wandelen. Aan het zwembad was het ook rustig. Het dorpje lag op tien minuten rijafstand. Er was geen bar, maar ook geen minibar op de kamer. Aan het zwembad kon je niets drinken. Je kon er dus eigenlijk niets drinken. De bediening van het ontbijt was nogal onpersoonlijk. We konden er ‘s avonds niet dineren, omdat je dat bij het ontbijt moet laten weten, moeilijk als je er maar een nacht verblijft dan. We zijn dan maar naar het dorpje gereden. Weinig uitleg over bezienswaardigheden in de buurt of activiteiten op het domein. Bij het uitchecken werd ook niets meer gezegd of gevraagd.

• Kirsty (8/5): Charmant verblijf - Bij het ontbijt kon je kiezen hoe je eitje werd klaargemaakt. Er waren verschillende soorten confituur, vers fruit, broodjes, fijne charcuterie ... Het personeel maakte ons verblijf extra aangenaam: altijd met een glimlach en steeds bereid om te helpen. Bij aankomst kregen we een stukje geschiedenis van het gebouw mee, wat het geheel een bijzondere toets gaf. Onze kamer was ruim met een gezellige slaapkamer en een comfortabele badkamer. Kortom: een plek waar je je meteen welkom voelt. Het linkse zwembad was niet helemaal proper: er lagen wat veren en beestjes in het water. Het andere zwembad was wel netjes, maar doordat het tussen de bomen ligt, was het water wat frisser.

The outside lights were off, so at night it was difficult to walk around the property. The pathway to the pool is too "raw" we need to walk in the dirt.

The manager was very friendly and acomodating Breakfast was good, but limited. The listing could have been more informative.Didn't realize it was , basically, a shared house. There were guests in other rooms who shared a common area and kitchen. It wasn't a problem, but we weren't aware of that from the listing.

• Pauline (6/5): Beautiful place, sullied by barking dogs that disturbed one's sleep. - The setting is gorgeous - the surrounding vineyard, pool, and well-documented Roman ruins made for an interesting and serene stay. The staff were very attentive and helpful, making sure they had breakfast ready for us before we left early for the airport. The room is lovely and the breakfast fresh and ample. The hotel is in the countryside but minutes away from Evora so easy to drive over for the day. What ruined our last night in Portugal were the barking dogs that did not stop barking from 9 pm till 1 am and then started up again at 5 am. Given that we had to get up early for the drive to the airport, this was especially upsetting. I wrote the hotel and what I got back was an inadequate response that this is a neighbour's dog and there is no solution and, further, that one of the dogs belongs to the hotel. Why this dog, who actually barked the longest and woke us at 5, could not be kept indoors after 11 pm is baffling to me.
• Sherrida (8/5): Idyllic getaway - Idyllic setting. Close to centre but very country. The manager was very helpful and informative re the history of the property and advice on local restaurants. Would have liked a fridge and coffee maker in the room. Had dinner one evening and we were somewhat disappointed compared to some local restaurants in the area.
• Katherine (10/5): Exceptional - a delightful surprise, the restored estate has large comfortable and lovely rooms, grounds to wander on and pools to enjoy. we were actually concerned as it's a bit from town but the peace and tranquility is worth a 10 minute drive. absolutely amazing experience and we will be back

• Wee Ping (10/5): Cosy and comfortable country manor - Very cosy and spacious country manor turned into a hotel. Wonderful common areas to sit around and watch TV or read a book. The cook provided breakfast and the manager on site was very friendly and knowledgeable about the property’s history.

• Linda (8/5): Overall a good stay, and the property was very kind in addressing a problem and making it right. I would not be inclined - Clean and comfortable rooms. Attractive decor with some historical significance. The staff was polite and efficient. The breakfast food was fine… the best croissants ever! And fresh squeezed orange juice! Once we figured out we could request scrambled eggs we were happy. You will want to find a local grocery if you want to eat other meals at the property. There was a community kitchen. The location was remote, and there were not many places to go out to dinner or pick up groceries nearby. We experienced unusual rainfall, so were not able to enjoy the grounds or patio much at all. Breakfast was a bit uncomfortable… not at all a relaxed social atmosphere. All guests sat at a large community table, but with no host to facilitate introductions or conversation everyone just ate very silently, and it was quite awkward. Felt like church. The staff that worked the kitchen etc were very attentive to managing the food delivery etc, but were in the kitchen working the rest of the time. We seldom saw anyone at the entrance desk, so asking about places to eat or of local interest was not easy. One last thing…You WILL need a car.
• Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place on a private estate. Beautiful historic buildings well furnished and decorated to be inviting and comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in the Evora area. There was no bad.
• Martin (10/5): We were there 3 nights and highly recommend! - Manuel and Sandra were gracious hosts, made restaurant reservations for us and had some great suggestions of places to go to around Evora. The Ducal Palace in Vila Vicodin, Arraiolos (famous for their embroidered rugs), Fita Pret Vinhos winery tour and Monsaraz near Lake Alqueva, the largest in Portugal. Eggs are cooked to order and the milk cake was delicious. Nothing

It was so peaceful and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed walking the property in the morning. Breakfast was delicious, some of the best croissants ever!

• Jay (4/5): Terrible. We booked for three nights. We left after one. - Breakfast was fine. No lunch, No dinner. They say meals are available upon request but if your arrival is after breakfast there will be no lunch or dinner available on the day of arrival. You would expect that you would told that before arriving so if you did want dinner it would be available. Even then, based on our experience, that's a maybe. Booking .com indicates that room service is available but it is not. Property indicates that wi-fi is available but that is only true for the main house. If you stay in Villa #5, there is no wi-fi or specifically, it wasn't available the time we stayed there. The pool is nothing like the photos. Villa #5 is a quarter mile from the main house. The property hasn't spent a dime in years to make the place look nice. Dirt roads, the hammock in the picture at the main house that appears online was about to fall down from deterioration. Totally unsafe. The whole place needs a painting and cleanup. Quiet? The property is isolated. The road in to the property is only wide enough for one vehicle at a time in most places. The property staff said if two cars are coming at each other it's a "problem". Who moves, "the driver that is most polite". Not fun. Everything. The staff didn't seem happy. One man's opinion. The place is in desperate need of upgrading. The road to the entrance needs to be made wider. Access can be a real problem. The pool area looks abandoned. The whole property looks abandoned. No room service. If you don't order lunch or dinner at breakfast you don't eat at the property. To compound the matter, no one at breakfast will ask if you want lunch or dinner, it's up to you to know that you need order. Not friendly. Not accommodating.
• Paula (10/5): Wish we could of stayed longer. - Highly recommend. The property is spectacular. Imagine waking up to the sounds of sheep and goats in the distance. It truly is a magical place.
• David (10/5): Loved it - Loved this quiet farm just outside Évora. Very nice and comfortable place. It had olive trees, grapes, horses, sheep, dogs, historical markers on property. Accommodations were 1st class 👍

• David (10/5): A relaxing stay. - We only overnighted here as part of a longer trip. The bedroom was large and tastefully decorated, although no fridge or kettle which we would have appreciated. We took dinner with only one other couple which was disappointing as the food was excellent both for that meal and breakfast. Perhaps the hotel should push their dinner option more.
• Carolyn (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay in this special property in the middle of a vineyard and olive orchard. We got to see the harvesting of the grapes with the vintner who was lovely. I also have to say the daily breakfast was delicious with fresh pastries and bread every morning. It's little outside of Evora but the tranquility was its own reward. Loved it!!
