Guest Reviews
- John (6/5): - Staff very nice
- carla (10/5): Good cheap stay in a comfty clean room - It was a good clean place comfty and suitably fits the price For the price it was as expected.
- Caroline (3/5): Below average - Very budget Bed
Bathroom
- Leona (7/5): - Location was close and walkable to everything. Comfy bed. This place is not a Hotel, it's a poorly run Guest house at best. The front door looked like it had been kicked in and repaired more than once and there was no one on site..there is no reception. A note on the door with a number to call, I did not have a local number to call FROM so had to ask a passerby fyi borrow their phone. The fire alarm went off two days in a row and with no-one available to shut it off. The walls are thin! The shower curtain stiff with soap scum ...for budget accom. it's fine , but the cost and description of the property are very misleading and only lead to disappointment. My stay in room 4 was an " upgrade" I was told, I can't imagine what the other rooms were like but this place needs some maintenance attention and an honest representation on booking sites.
- Miriam (1/5): I did not stay. I did not manage to take pics of the bedroom but these were ones from the front door and stairway. - I was very disappointed with the presentation of the place and could not stay in such an environment. I have already submitted a complaint. As above. The place was very unclean and poorly kept and smelt of “stale cigarettes”. I had to leave and find a different accommodation as was attending a retreat nearby.
- David (4/5): Only just acceptable - Location room very disappointed
- Christopher Alan (8/5): -
- Magdalena (8/5): Polecam. Blisko morze i cemtrum handlpwego oraz dobrze skomunikowane. - Very good location and helpful personnel.
Clean and comfortable. Cold in the room...but it.is not the owners fault
- Laura (3/5): - The location. The room was filthy and smelt awful.
Arrived as arranged to check-in at 2pm and found a note stuck to the front door advising to call the number listed. Explained I was outside and the woman said she was on her way. 10-15 minutes later the cleaners happened to open the door from inside and let me in. One of them called the same woman ( I assume) then I was handed a key fob and shown to my room.
The smell- like dirty, sweaty socks was instantly apparent as the door was opened.
The place is grim.

- Danny (1/5): Horrible sleepless - Nothing Everything
- Lawrence (3/5): Location was good and Comfortable Bed - Location was good as not too far to walk into town and explore other places of interest. Had problem getting into Hotel due to NOT receiving codes for door or Hotel room beforehand, but was sorted out over the phone. Thought the owner would've made sure I got codes before I got there ??
The room was a lot smaller than photo suggested with the bed taking up most of the room. There was very little space to hang clothes AND FLAKEY PAINT coming off one wall onto my coat and the floor !! where they had used the wrong type of Paint !
Not particularly Clean Bathroom with evidence of some mould and unclean areas of silicone around the Shower and other areas of Bathroom and very small for someone who is 6 foot tall !!
On 3 of the nights stay it was difficult to get to sleep as being in basement the upstairs residents - Owners ?? made constant noise walking about and shifting furniture about into the early hours of the morning, very frustrating when I came here to rest NOT be next to Noisy, Selfish inconsiderate people above.
Was not a good quality Hotel as described and will NOT be going back there AS there were many other Hotels with high
standard than this 'Hotel' which we will be going to in Future. You're doing great. Keep going...

- Marsh (1/5): A joke of a hotel. MORE LIKE A HOUSE OF MULTIPLE OCCUPANCY HMO - Location that's all This is a neglected property, Sunday was very windy, window on french door wouldn't close and doors themselves very bad condition and draughty. Open drug dealing going on from property in early hours of Sunday. I notified police
- Taylor (8/5): close to amenities, friendly staff and very comfortable sleep - great location close to amenities, clean room and helpful staff (via phonecall if needed) the check in/out was slightly confusing, but all it took was a phone call and it was sorted out straight away.
- Ken (7/5): Cheap and cheery - Close to town, easy access, cheap Can hear people in the next room clapping cheeks
- Jonathan (8/5): - Great location, basic accommodation but done the job clean and comfortable Shower a bit small
- Kumbirai (10/5): Perfect stay - No breakfast. Good location to my work place Nothing
- Jake (3/5): Bad - The room I stayed in (3) had the ability to let me know when everyone in the building was either using the toilet or washing their hands. All the light the night I could hear this and the water running through the pipes. Also the walls arent very thick so csn hear people very loudly in the corridors The room I stayed in (3) had the ability to let me know when everyone in the building was either using the toilet or washing their hands. - Wobballs (9/5): Welcoming owners. Very helpful. Easy to access property. Quiet. - Great location. Comfortable bed. Everything there needed for basic short stay. Not hoovered under bedside cabinets. Couple of crisps. No big issue
- Chris (7/5): -
- Givanovich (10/5): -
- Rebecca (1/5): Awful, dirty and smokey. Avoid - Nothing, the room was dirty, stank of stale cigarettes, hair and dust everywhere, not suitable to rent out for people to stay. Impacted my business trip massively. Will be logging a formal complaint. Would never recommend. Would never recommend, nothing like advertised.
- Megan (10/5): -
- Givanovich (10/5): - The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
It's a great location.
- Wiwatowski (5/5): -
- Kelly (9/5): The property was clean and tidy and had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable and the room nice and warm. I would - Location Not negatives
- Jagjit (8/5): A busy weekend so very good to have a central location and close to public transport. - The location was excellent with an easy walk to most places and very close to a transport hub at Churchill Square. Although close to a main shopping area the Square itself was quite quiet. Good value for the room rate. Good for soli travelling or if you are out all day and just need the room to wash, change & sleep. The bathroom needs a little tlc. The shower head needs tightening up to keep it steady and the toilet itself was also a bit loose. Apart from that I have no issues.
- Agnew (5/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): Enjoyed, great location and lovely staff - Location Balcony not safe at all
- Coralie (10/5): -
- henrietta (3/5): I would not go to this hotel again - It had a working flat screen TV and the ensuite shower worked + the kettle worked There is no reception at this hotel and there was a paper notice stuck on the entrance doorway with a phone number to call upon arrival - however nobody was answering the phone despite the fact that I arrived at the specified time which was detailed when booking the room.
After considerable time standing outside and trying to call the number that was not answering and convinced I had been scammed, I knocked on the door persistently. The door was then answered by a hotel guest who let me into the hotel entrance area. She also tried to call the number and could also not get through to anybody. I also sent a text message which was not answered and we tried ringing the fixed phone that was in the hallway which promised direct connection to 'reception' - this also did not work.
Eventually after about 2 hours, a representative from the hotel called the other guest back and came around to let me into my room. He was apologetic and said his phone was broken. He upgraded the room to say sorry.
During this time I also tried to call Booking.com to see if they could help get hold of the hotel. I did this a few times and each time came through to AI which was useless and did not understand what I was asking. When I said I could not get through to the hotel by phone it suggested I try calling the hotel by phone.
The AI then said it would put me through to an operative, but it did not.
The hotel did not really resemble the booking.com images in that in reality it looks of poorer quality more like social housing bedsits.
Very poor plumbing with a blocked toilet - the room was not very clean and the balcony was filthy + no replacement tea or coffee during a ten day stay.
- Sam (6/5): -
- Evren (10/5): -
- Jamie (1/5): Shocking - Nothing It’s an hmo and an hotel together we didn’t know this when booking it was noisey and we had random people knocking on my door which scared my partner we hardly had any sleep it was horrible that’s why I asked for my money back which I did get back
- Dan (10/5): Great location and lovely helpful people! That’s all I wanted - Lovely management and very helpful Nothing to complain about
- Sheppard (7/5): -
- Samantha (1/5): -
- Rachael (1/5): -
- Joseph (6/5): I think it was OK! - Good service. Quiet location, mostly. Perhaps more noise outside at weekend, or dependent on other guests. Slight lack of attention to cleaning: sweeping, mopping, wiping, perhaps in this room.
- Naila (9/5): I really like that motel is worth the price for sure - I’ve been upgraded so it was a pretty good surprise.
The motel is near to litterally everything ( sea, mall, train station). The walls were very thin
- Menon (4/5): - Too small
- Jack (9/5): -
- isla (8/5): -
- baasi (5/5): -
- Siobhan (10/5): Perfect location, great value and friendly staff - Location was perfect, 15 mins walk from train station, 2 min walk to the beach and about 15 walk to the pier. Great location. Staff were friendly and helpful, price was great value for the location and what we got. Definitely highly recommend Nothing, excelled our expectations
- James (8/5): - Wish id asked the host about the shower, i couldnt see the drain and was scared of flodding the room at 2am. This is my fault and NOT the hotels or the owners. Enjoyable stay!
- Emad&chris (6/5): -
- Adeniyi (3/5): Poor - Great location Very dirty environment, no appropriate cleaning service and dirty facilities
- Lambert (5/5): Passable - No info as.to how to access.a non-manned venue. No plug in "bathroom" basin. No info as to how to book in to a non-manned venue. No plug in basin
- Brumant (2/5): Dissapointed - batjroom Damaged front no staff on arrival, room smelt damp.basement room was not giving as mobility issues no lift.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Good location, unfortunately came home with a lot of bed bug bites
- Stein (5/5): bathroom too small - There was no breakfast. No one provide infomation, no reception, no contact number and if you get in trouble at the hotel you dont who to contact . This really put me off. If I had questions no one to answer questions. I didnt know whom to leave the keys with when Checking out. No one to clean the room. Customer care is poor. The pictures of the room on the website and the actual room were very different. The heating system was not there to warm the room.
- Kera (5/5): Passable - It was very private, didn’t really see any other people who was staying and did see the owners very much either. Hairdryer didn’t work, could hear a lot through the walls, was clean but did realise a bed bug problem!!
- Sean (1/5): Vile - Nothing I was booked in for a week, after the 1st day I was covered in bites, the second day I had huge swollen bites on my fingers, arms, shoulder and back.
I immediately moved out of there.
After seeking medical advice they said it was bed bugs.
Absolutely disgusting place.
- Andrew (1/5): Hotel from hell - Location. Very noisy people in the room above. Moving and dropping heavy objects all night long. All that racket kept me awake during that night.
Unconcerned, non resident, manager couldn't be bothered to rectify the issue.
His unacceptable attitude " This hotel is not
soundproofed. Not happy? Go. We're not stopping you." was in bad taste.Need I say more.
I left the hotel. I will never, in future,go anywhere near
Motel Schmotel, let alone stay there again.
Miserable hotel.
- Mayom (1/5): My stay was not good because of the l facilities - Just the location The toilet wasn’t good and bedsheet were not changed
- Jerry (7/5): Good - Room was well appointed with all facilities. The front door and signage were poor . Check in was not clear.
- Asher (10/5): Would stay again - Very modern and up to date hotel. Very clean. Decent bathrooms. Love the key fobs helps when you have had a drink haha. Hotel is in perfect spot for brighton. Car park to right NCP car park. Very useful spot with high street two roads up from hotel
- Rose (1/5): Bad - I’m not surprised I’m first time I had looking from at the Booking.com online on my phone and I have a booked a hotel room and when I’m was arriving in at place so I’m was shocked that look was very bad and rough is sad place ‘ nothing there anything hotel welcome service or I’m was been was struggling I’m are a deaf woman try ask someone my friend get calling speak to this place the hotel a service and I can’t find anything a clear service in a room so nasty and not there a restaurant or bars in the hotel unfortunately!!!!!’ I never had come here again anymore!!!’ I’m next time a used years I’m go stay a rich the luxury hotel ‘ better then this place’ 😒
- Bethanie (4/5): - Quite a busy loud location. Ground floor room you hear everyone; outside, inside, everyone.
Cracked toilet seat but otherwise room was doable but the disturbance was really bad.
Outdated and could do with a makeover and new lights etc.
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joao (10/5): Exceptional - The location is very central — just a short walk to the seafront, the i360 tower, and nearby supermarkets, pubs, and cafés. There’s also a beautiful park next door which was a lovely bonus. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I’d definitely consider staying here again.
- Sasha (6/5): - There was no food or dinner we had to buy our own food to have
- Jo (1/5): Bad -
- Ellie (1/5): Not good - The location being central The room is in need of a deep clean and repainting, there is lots of mold in the bathroom, the bed is super uncomfy, windows single glazed doesn't shut fully and can hear everything outside, doesn't feel completely safe as no deadbolt on the door just keycard, I didn’t feel comfortable and I checked out early
- Bob (6/5): Pleasant - Great location. Problems with shower and toilet
- Nicola (1/5): very noisy no cleaning no sleep at all - location everything
- Tim (2/5): - Room is small not even a table can’t even move it the shower never mind using the toilet plus u can hear next people wall not insulated
- Elena (7/5): Helpful and professional management - Location is very central. People who manage the hotel are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Thank you for all you have done for me during my stay and beyond.
- Jev (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (10/5): Great location - Location, cleanliness, towel qualitu
- John (4/5): Only if you're desperate - Very, very small room described as a standard, en suite room. I'm average height at best and struggled to even use the toilet. Room was covered in cobwebs, curtains only just attached to their rail, window itself cracked and just repaired with sellotape, floor looked like it had never seen a mop or Hoover. As the title says if it's your last resort then book it, if you're coming to Brighton to just get absolutely blind drunk then you might just manage but anyone else I'd say just spend just a little more and get somewhere decent. I visit relatives in Brighton and believe me there are many hotels, reasonably priced around so avoid this Hotel if you can.
- Andrea (7/5): Good -
- Bradley (6/5): Pleasant -
- Zayden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Warren (1/5): Not great - The matress was comfortable but I didn't sleep much I could not get much sleep the noise from the door constantly openening and slamming against the wal the bed is against this wall every time the door shut the wall shook the bed and shook my bedroom door making it rattel floor boards all other the house extremely creaky and loud other guests where outside and inside shouting arguing the toilet in the closest was awful the place needs work the front door had cracks in it the bed frame creaked very bad when moving on the bed which unfortunately I am a fidget it really was not worth the price of 56 pound
- Jo (1/5): didn’t even get to stay - coukdnt even get into the property couldn’t get into the property
- John (1/5): Bad -
- Jason (6/5): Pleasant -
- Isla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (8/5): Good location - It's in a good location, close to shopping area. Bathroom was hidden in what looked like a closet. Better rate the longer you stay.
- Tom (1/5): One of the worst experiences of my life. - The only good thing about this was the location Stunk of drugs, no sea view, dirty room, could hear snoring all night both nights, couple next door kept us up all night arguing and fighting where the police where called for domestic abuse and I was asked to give a statement. Cost a fortune to park car, was giving bad and false information about our surroundings
- Robert (6/5): - The convenience and the price. The property was a little shabby, and the en suite was very small. The bed not very comfortable.
- Lennie (5/5): Passable -
- Adam (5/5): Passable -
- Kathy (5/5): A bit tricky to get inside the building - I liked that I was able to find the number of the hotel on Google to call the manager Chi who was able to let me into the building-
He was pleasant-
He ensured I was okay before he left -
I did like that I was able to get a few hours peaceful rest before leaving for work at 7am. I didn't like that I could not get into the building - I thought maybe I was at the wrong address -and walked down the street to number 44 where there was more light- I then checked Google for the number - the manager answered and asked me to return to number 37
The front door from the inside
(which I only noticed on leaving), needs a lot of maintenance- seems like someone was angry and kicked it a few times!!🤣🤣
I did not like the review about some of the guests smoking "weed" in the building. This has deterred me from booking again-😢
- Heather (5/5): Great location to get around. You pay for what to get. Got an upgrade which was great. - Great value for money, basic room, good for a base & to put your head down. Great location, very central. Dust on the lights.
- Claire (9/5): Fab accommodating manager and staff. Friendly welcoming nothing too much trouble - Location perfect - nestled away minutes between beach and town.
- Aron (4/5): Disappointing -
- Dan (1/5): Bad - The room was no way a luxury room as advertised the window didn't shut the room was grotty I refused to stay and got a refund
- Maya (1/5): Bad - I didn’t like anything I would like a refund
- Said (1/5): Never book this hotel again - Location was good The neighbours played loud music the cleanliness of the room was actually smell the bed sheets was a very bad experience horrible.
- Abbas (7/5): the overall is very good - The room was very clean and the location is very close the center and beach. The room services are fair enough with the offered price. -
- U (5/5): Passable -
- Harvey (6/5): Pleasant -
- Carmen (1/5): Horrible. - Nothing Terrible location, no safe at all, dirty, small… expensive and they don’t even do personal check in or check out.
