Guest Reviews
- Caroline (10/5): Perfect Australian beach holiday vibes. - Perfect seaside getaway, would be a great summer holiday spot. In our case our daughter was getting married at her fiancés family holiday house a couple of doors down. With the reception just around the corner this was the perfect spot. Nothing it was all great.

- Luke (9/5): Great stay in a unique and good value home - Location and character Kitchen and clutter
- Timothy (9/5): - Very comfortable, walking distance from waterfront, shops and dinner places. Port Fairy wasn't super bust when I was there but even in peak season I suspect this location would be on the quieter side than accomodation near the main shops. Clean and secure. Nothing in particular. Would be happy to stay there again.
- Geoff (8/5): House was comfortable in a great location, weather was lousy for the time of year - Great location only a short walk to plenty of dining options. Poor weather precluded walking to the beach or river. Comfortable cottage. The house was cluttered with too much furniture and interior design pieces, parking was limited to one car at rear of property.

- Rohan (10/5): Amazing house, brilliant central location. Huge recommend. - Excellent location. Walled everywhere. Next door was a building under construction with tradesmen making a lot of noise from 7am each day, but we were warned months before that this would be taking place, so it isn't a knock on the hosts at all (they were great with regards to this disturbance), it was simply the only thing that wasn't absolutely perfect.
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Ricky (9/5): Perfect place for a family in Port Fairy - House is very comfortable and cosy. Perfect location within walking distance to the main area
- Marie (10/5): Amazing stay, very central to everything. Wish we could have stayed longer - Very cosy! Very charming. We stayed for Easter and it was perfect! We have been back home an hour and already looking to rebook! Incredibly comfortable beds!
- Barbara (10/5): This cottage is a 10/10! - Everything! The photos do not do this property justice. It is so inviting and homely and well presented. Plenty of space to spread out .. the outdoor undercover verandah is fantastic.. and the second toilet was a real bonus! Nothing really …Couldn’t locate a hairdryer?
- Jane (6/5): Great central location but be warned too much stuff!!! - It’s location was good, just around the corner from main centre of town, shops, cafes and restaurants The house was full to the brim with way too much bric n brac stuff, and not much surface room to put your own supplies. Almost every surface and cupboard was covered in lots of stuff which collected a lot of dust and both myself and my mother suffered respiratory issues as a result. Also, even though we only stayed two nights we were expected to empty rubbish bins, put out on the curb and clean and tidy ( in other words, leave everything as we found it) One wonders what the cleaning service does, other than change sheets and towels.
- Christine (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay. - Ambience Quirky decor. Good linen Noise from pub
- Marilyn (8/5): Lovely old house in an excellent location. Kitchen needs modernising. - Location is excellent. House is charming and comfortable. A modern kitchen
- Alan (9/5): We could live there! - Just the right size and easy to walk into town and to the river and sea A bit cluttered
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Geoffrey (9/5): Spot on home away from home - So cosy, better than it looked online and so central to town! Nothing it was all fantastic. Although there is no air conditioning, we didn’t need it but would have been uncomfortable if it was a hot weekend
- Greg (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (9/5): Character filled cottage in a great location in a wonderful town - A very quirky cottage. So much of everything in the decorating which gives it so much character. The cute 1970s kitchen is just perfect for this property. Couldn't get a better location in Port Fairy
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional - Quirky and comfortable, really nice place and great location
- Maree (10/5): A lovely house for a Port Fairy getaway - Great position, comfy bed, lots of space Nothing
- Margaret (10/5): Great - Toilet door jammed locking is in the toilet
- Louise (9/5): Beautiful house, superb location, walk everywhere, right in the heart of georgeous Port Fairy. - The house was tastefully decorated, great location, lots of magazines and books to read, walking distance to everything, full kitchen, outdoor setting. Trying to open the lock box was very difficult and had to ring the emergency number (public holiday - office closed) for assistance.
- Ric (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yingzhou (9/5): Superb - Cozy, comfortable, and great location.
- Greta (10/5): We had a great stay at Gipps Getaway. Spacious, had everything we needed. Perfect location -
- Stewart (9/5): great house in a great location - self contained house very well equipped. warm and comfortable. bathroom etc spotless.

Great location to shops pubs and restaurants highly recommend nothing
- Keegan (10/5): Port Fairy cottage stay - Lovely comfortable stay with great location. A coffee machine would be fabulous 🤩
- Karl (8/5): Very good - Great location Mattresses weren't great.
- Chris (9/5): A stylish and comfortable cottage near the heart of Port Fairy. - A beautifully appointed cottage done by someone with an eye for style.
- Sue (9/5): Superb -
- Linda (9/5): Cottage was located within walking distance to everything. it was great to come home to a warm cosy place as it was pret - Comfortable cottage in a great location
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - very charming cottage close to everything
- Matthew (10/5): Great little getaway spot, so close to town. Very cosy. - It was very close to town! Easy walking distance. The bath/shower and oven could do with an update at some stage but it was still fine! Not much too much to complain about at all.
- Robyn (10/5): Great location and great cottage - Great cottage amazing location and very well equipped. Would love to stay again. Nothing
- Denise (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (8/5): Great property , lousy property manager. - Location, facilities, Port Fairy Nothing to do with the property but the managing agent sent us "on-line check-in" emails on our last day including requests for copies of identification docs. What a joke, as we had already paid !! Apart from bad systems it is an over-reach to have to send critical docs just for a short rental. Given the current hacking, we would never send. They also threatened to send cleaners at exactly 10am to "force us out". Having just paid $1000 + for accommodation, this is a bit insulting.
- Sue (9/5): Will hopefully come again - Great location for access to shops and beach both within walking distance.Beautiful gardens and uncover outdoor area House was very comfortable but felt there was too much clutter around
- Ritchie (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (7/5): Good - The property was very suitable for 4 people, a short walk from the concert venues we were attending. Second WC with adjacent laundry sink, plus bathroom with two access doors worked well. The small kitchen workable if outdated, very well equipped overall, no dishwasher - a double sink would help.
The whole house was rather overdecorated with "collector items" to our tastes - but had excellent collection of local history books that we would like to read on a longer, more relaxed visit.
West facing back deck excellent for outdoor meals or sitting.
Well equipped with electrical heaters in most rooms - but no airconditioning, might be rather warm in summer? As noted above, we felt decoration excessive - but very much a personal opinion.
- Darren (7/5): Good - The house is damp
- Lance (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (9/5): The location and the property were superb , but lack of information on wifi and tv. -
