Guest Reviews
- Colette (9/5): Travellers feel an added protection from above... - The open space with the fire heater made heating the full house so easy. The easy access to the kitchen and dining area was so practical. The tile choice in the bathroom was quiet slippery with the heat condensation even with the fan on. One thing missing from the bathroom was a box of tissues - perhaps an option to be considered.
- Jasmine (7/5): A very pleasant stay. - Cute property in an excellent location. As per other reviews, the bed in the main bedroom was extremely firm/hard.
- Cath (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): Very good - The Hamilton Hwy is a joy after the multilane battle all the way to Geelong. Five hours haul later on roads that get steadily worse we arrived in the beautiful tree lined streets of Port Fairy.
The Norfolk pines are 170 years old. The rock walls that line the roads on the way are similarly old in in ancient peoples ancient volcanic landscape.
The church is a delightful little building. two bedrooms ( two large beds, one double bunk) one pleasant bathroom with good hot water. The beds are pretty firm, but I slept well because I walked a lot to explore the beautiful town, river, and beach.
It is centrally located near cafes and restaurants.( We liked Bottega Toscana and Four Seasons Chinese Restaurants)
The heating is very efficient. It has an enclosed yard which was great for our small dog.
The kitchen has a large kettle , large toaster, large oven enough cutlery etc for 8 ,but we didn’t use it much due to the many other temptations. The old front doors are difficult to open so enter via the side door. The “ Easy” check in was a surprise as we had already fully paid. You need to provide photo ID for that. I wasn’t happy to provide all this personal ID as we know that our personal data is being held by, companies unnecessarily and for too long. The chair near the side door is broken and unsafe and needs to be thrown out. The fly wire door was jamming.
