Guest Reviews

Basic but complete facilities. Home needs done TLC and upgrades
Bed and couches are all well worn and not comfy.
I think there are a few cottages and this one didn’t match the photos
- Paula (10/5): Great place to relax in comfort. - Location was beautiful , handy to everything.
Very private and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided .
Very clean and towels were huge!! Parking on street and turning or backing up to turn.
- Teri (8/5): -
- Jon (4/5): Uncomfortable and over priced! - The location Over priced, not clean, bed vey hard, lounge chairs sack out and not comfortable. 3 star accommodation.
- Crothers (10/5): A lovely tranquil cottage. - Lots of room. So tranquil. Beautiful view of the pond with ducks. There were daddy long legs (harmless spiders) in the shower and toilet area.
We arrived in the dark. Needs an automatic light outside
- Gavan (9/5): We had a lovely couple of days. The accommodation was comfortable. I would highly recommend. - The location was wonderful. Short walk into town centre, restaurants pubs etc.
Lovely to sit outside by the lake. Beds were comfortable. The whole place was lovely. Nothing really.

Great location
- Patricia (10/5): -

- Christine (10/5): Enjoyable - Location, view, comfort Toilet is too close to the wall. Covering on dining table is naff. Prior warning about bringing bottled water would be appreciated
- RUSSELL (7/5): Easy walk to Main Street - Location good Noisy frogs
- PETER (6/5): - Well located. The bedrooms were cold with no air conditioning or electric blankets.
The toilet needed an extractor fan.
- Linda (8/5): -
- Cassandra (7/5): Good -
- Margarita (8/5): Relaxing stay in a cosy cottage with lovely water view. - The Cottage was cosy and warm with a lovely view of the pond. Bird life was beautiful. It was quiet, peaceful, and private. Great location- easy to walk to town centre. I thought the cottage had wifi that I would be able to connect to, but I had to run my laptop off my phone. This could be a problem for someone who needed the connection for work, etc
- Norm (7/5): Had a nice time. - Position excellent. Heating VG. Toaster not working. Windows needed a clean. Only 2 towels for 4 guests. Spiders web & a cockroach behind main bed head.
- Julie-anne (8/5): It was clean and convenient to town with a nice outlook over lake - Location close to gallery we were attending Tv did not work on last morning, something to do with the antenna I think, wi fi would have been good too, no pantry area for storing food, we got ants on the kitchen bench near the back door
- Fiona (8/5): Very good - Location, the adjacent pond was full of interesting bird life. Close to town. The only place we stayed at, over several weeks, that had a clean BBQ to use. Lots of cobwebs and spiders inside the house.
- Kristen (8/5): Very good -
- Frederick (7/5): Good - Like the peace and quiet and the easy of walking into town. Parking was easy but could have been closer to the house and the driveway was in need of attention we encountered a number of crickets and a fairly large spider on the first night.
- Rosemary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caroline (8/5): First time visiting Port Fairy. Gorgeous, friendly town with awesome beach. Found good places to dine in and a handy gro - Location, quiet, comfortable beds. Ants, no milk or tea provided. Could not work the tv but there is a video player, videos supplied.
- Yaraslaw (8/5): Mostly relaxing. - Location was great. Bed very hard unfortunately and very sharp corners on bed frame, couple of bruised shins. Very relaxing stay otherwise. As above.
- Tanner (10/5): Beautiful getaway - Fantastic property had everything we needed. Great stay 10/10 recommend Didn’t stay long enough ;)
- Gwen (7/5): Good - Good location, walking distance from the Main Street There was no WiFi
- Christie (8/5): Very good -
- Clare (7/5): Good - Location was excellent and it was a bargain
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (8/5): Great location, clean and tidy cottage. Great communication and the staff responded straight away when there was a tree - The location was excellent. Walking distance to Port Fairy shops, restaurants and the beach. The cottage has a lovely outlook onto the water, watching the ducks and wildlife while having our morning coffee was great. The kitchen was well equipped. The lounge was comfortable. The beds were a little firm, could have done with a mattress topper. The decor a little dated, ok.
- Nerida (8/5): Very good - It was a good size with full kitchen facilities. Easy walk to shops/restaurants. Nice spot on the water. There was no wifi (this was advertised so it wasn’t a surprise but for the price paid per night it’s really something that i would have expected).
its pretty dated but still clean and comfortable.
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Patrick (8/5): Convenient and cozy - Cozy little cottage in a nice location. Gorgeous outlook to the wetlands.
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Lynda (7/5): Good - King bed was comfortable. Well equipped kitchen with all that you need. Close to town and quiet location. Living rooms and bedrooms are spacious. Getting covered in cobwebs when going from passageway to lounge. Sitting side saddle on the toilet because it's placement is too close to the wall. Then they have placed a hand rail on the wall too to make it even more complicated. Glad we were not disabled as it would be a nightmare to manage. Shower is pokey. Advice is don't drop the soap as you can't bend over to pick it up. Also you can't dress in the shower room, you need to move to the adjoining bathroom. There is a shower in the 2nd bathroom but it is over the bath and for us wasn't an option. Not the cleanest accommodation
- Rachael (8/5): Beautiful peaceful location yet very accessible to everything - Furnishings a little dated but everything you need and very clean & tidy. Great location with stunning wildlife on the lake. No Wi-Fi
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wayne (9/5): Superb - A great location with lots of birdlife on the water, really comfortable, with all that was needed for great stay. BBQ was a bonus. Nothing, a perfect stay for us.
- Kristie (10/5): Step back in time to a peaceful retreat - The location by the water. The quaint old fashioned feel. The beds could have been better. The items supplied in the kitchen could have been better (coffee machine would have been nice)
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (7/5): Reasonable accommodation for the price with a great central location. Furniture a little tired. - The location was central to everything. The shower was great. Garden setting was lovely. The bed was a bit uncomfortable and the couches very uncomfortable. No wifi.
- Jodi (8/5): Very good -
- Tara (7/5): Good - A cosy little space, not the most modern but comfortable. We had a pleasant stay here and would consider again if visiting the area. Shower had great water pressure! Furnishings etc. were a bit dated but still pleasant.
- Heather (10/5): A perfect place to stay in a gorgeous little town. Our favourite! - Spectacular location. LOVED the laundry facilities! Needed to use all our fruit and veges before crossing back to SA, and was happy to find a lemon juicer to juice the 3 lemons we had picked up along the way!
- Heather (8/5): Very good - Loved the location.
Cottage was lovely, warm and clean.
Bed was massive.
Beautiful, tranquil surroundings.
Beautiful hot water, great pressure in the shower. Nothing really.
- Cathie (9/5): Superb -
- Alexander (9/5): Superb -
- Leanne (7/5): great location - location, clean bushes blocking walk way
- Judith (9/5): It is a very dear little cottage in a lovely quiet place. Just what I needed to reboot. - Rain water for making drinks would be appreciated. The town water is bore water and I find it undrinkable.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- James (7/5): Good -
- Heidi (10/5): we are enjoyed our stay - spacious very dated
- Dawn (2/5): It was such a disappointment we left early - The Location It had a musty smell. The indoor front mat was filthy. That was our welcome. The heating did not work. It was dusty and there was dirt around all taps and plug holes. The windows were filthy.
- Helen (9/5): I’d definitely stay there again - No wifi but house was, tho simple, very comfortable. Couldn’t get heating working, but there was a space heater that was perfectly adequate.
Lovely views from great walk-to-CBD location. No wifi
- Tamara (8/5): Very good - house was clean, close to everything and well equipped the house had an old musty smell on arrival.
- Cj (4/5): Disappointed - Good location, good bedrooms, good outlook onto pond. Dirty - carpets, windows, light fittings, couches (hair and smelly) exterior area, BBQ.
cold water tap iin bathroom broken (now fixed)
Musty smell when walked into property, had to open up whole place. Old kitchen knobs coming off bottom draw.
Property has good potential but needs a complete overhaul. Attention to detail was very poor.
- Karen (7/5): Good - Lovely quiet location Outdated decor, electric blanket leads dubious, old blood stain on mattress protector
- Lisa (8/5): Great location and view - Location and view where great Smelt a bit like there had been a dog there
Bathroom cold water tap was not working
Mail bed room was 2 single beds pushed together without a mattress topper so had a crack down the middle of the bed
- Neil (9/5): Superb - Great location for us Nothing
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Tania (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): Good compact place to stay in Port Fairy - Great location by a little lake with a group of other cottages only a short stroll from the main streets. A nice roomy cottage the size of a small house, plenty of space. Appreciated the range of kitchen utensils appliances and items. Easy parking and access to cottage with its own grounds. Nice shower. Reverse cycle heater and air-con was not working at all. Malfunction buttons dis[played that it required
maintenance; we couldn't do anything about that on a weekend. Luckily there was a portable IXL Heater in the bedroom which we were able to use to warm the living area on a wintry weekend. Also blinds were broken at top of curtain rail.
- Neil (8/5): Enjoyed it - Air con / heater. No milk or condiments.
- Ivan (4/5): just bearable. will not come there again. - in a good spot cold and uncomfortable. there was hair in the shower and several spiders in the house. heating was inadequate.
- Madeleine (7/5): Good - Great location, very quiet and within easy walking distance of shops, pubs, wharf, etc. Comfy beds and good quality bedlinen, nice towels and toiletries in bathroom. Small split system mounted in wall in lounge room, inadequate for heating whole house and filter needed cleaning (lights flashing, and house smelled damp/musty on arrival). Exposed wires and overloaded powerpoint in bedroom with 2x single beds.
- Lorraine (7/5): We enjoyed our stay very much. It is comfortable and the fully equipped kitchen was appreciated. - Location is perfect, walk to shops and most places to visit. The view and the setting is lovely. When we arrived at the cottage it smelt of and old house that has been locked up for months. It was clean but perhaps needs a deep clean, carpet maybe, to get rid of the musty smell. We did open all the doors and windows to freshen it up.
