When booking places it is helpful to know in the description how close they are to the route. We had the perfect room with balcony over looking the ocean. Breakfast was homemade and delicious

• Andrew (10/5): Very nice place, full of character and sounds of the ocean - We loved this place. A very unique, very old (in a good way) building. One of the more memorable places we stayed on the Camino. Bonus that there were good places to setup a clothesline in the bathroom for drying our clothes.

• Karen (10/5): Wonderful people; beautiful building; exceptional stay! - Whilst Casa Puertas has been beautifully renovated, as a heritage building, keeping the wonderful original features but offering very high spec facilities it is the wonderful Carmena and her sisters who make the place extra special. The Secret Garden is also an amazing and totally unique facility where you can relax right by the ocean but also dry your washing! Breakfast was also exceptional with freshly squeezed orange juice and scrambled eggs made to order; delicious!

The sound of the ocean with your window open is wonderful. What makes Casa Puertes such a gem is Carmen and her women co-owners (who are her family). We had a lovely stay. There is one washer and one dryer next door to Casa Puertes which was very helpful. We loved everything

The secret garden through a door way is lovely with views over the sea. There is a laundry next door The room was beautiful and the views towards the monastery. Breakfast was very good with fruit , yogurt and freshly made omelette. Would highly recommend We stayed 1 night whilst walking the Camino Nothing

• Beate (10/5): - Alles! Ich hatte ein soooo schönes Zimmer mit Blick zum Meer, und sogar einen Balkon, und ich werde den tollen Sonnenuntergang für immer im Herzen tragen. Das Haus und das Mobiliar gefallen mir ausgesprochen gut. Ein echtes Highlight für mich! Das Frühstück war auch superlecker und alle waren total nett :)

The room and the entire facility is absolutely unique. Don’t miss any opportunity to stay here! Not one single thing is negative. Anyone implying otherwise is not worthy to stay there.
• Billy (10/5): Beautiful Inside & Out - The location was perfect as we were walking the Camino and Casa Puertas is right on the path, a beautiful building from the outside & even more so inside. The staff/owners we met were very helpful and provided a great service, we were allocated room 1 and it has to be the finest room in the property, a nice big room beautifully decorated, nice furnishings and a very comfy bed, the balcony doors when open give a superb view down the old paved street, also the old street lights that come on in the evening are fantastic. There is a lounge area for relaxing, and a dining room where breakfast is served, both are beautiful with fabulous furniture, an added bonus is the secret garden, an absolute gem of a garden hideaway that's coupled with a path leading down to a rocky area. Next morning we had breakfast, fresh & plentiful with something for everyone, all in all Casa Puertas was a highlight of our Camino, a truly amazing place to stay. Nothing

Super nice couple. Showed us self service laundry right next door, recommended grocery store for supplies, very nice tea room and all necessities to prepare an easy meal for dinner. Breakfast - omelet to order and delicious breakfast spread. Met some helpful pilgrims toi!

• Sudarshana Sona (10/5): Best hotel on the Camino Portuguese! - This was my favorite hotel on the entire Camino Portuguese. It was a beautiful hotel from the 1600's. Carmen and her cousins who run the hotel know perfection. Everything is done with detail and is amazing. Our room was fantastic, the beds were great, the shower water was steaming hot, beautiful towels. We has one window facing the Atlantic Ocean and the other window facing the beautiful cobblestone streets. Carmen walked us through everything, told us where to eat, showed us the the laundry room (with W & D--yaaay); the breakfast was done with a lot of love and care. They also have a "tea room" which is open 24 hours for everyone to use and stocked with cookies, tea/coffee. Oia is a small village and so everything is walkable. I want to come back here again :)) N/A

• Pat (10/5): Perfect overnight stop on the Camino - Location is great right in the centre. It's a beautiful historic building. Everything is well cared for. There is a fab communal kitchen area for making tea / coffee and packed lunches, with use of a fridge. Staff are lovely nothing
• Ivano (10/5): Appartamento e posto Meraviglioso! - Tutto, la posizione, la tranquillità del posto e soprattutto l'accoglienza e la simpatia della proprietaria!! appartamento completamente ristrutturato mantenendo lo stile rustico di un tempo, un piccolo gioiello finemente arredato, con piccola cucina per poter utilizzare un bollitore o potersi fare un caffè in ogni momento e acqua gratis! Inoltre appena fuori dall'appartamento c'è una lavanderia a gettoni con asciugatrice.. I letti erano comodissimi e la pulizia impeccabile! lo stabile è situato proprio sul Cammino.. che altro dire? Un posto meraviglioso in tutto e per tutto! Nulla ovviamente
