• Michael (4/5): Better value for money elsewhere. - Location and views convenient Tv entertainment had previous searches of porn on internet, the dining only offered one white wine chardonnay by the glass. For a second glass of the same requested, I was offered a pinot gris. Saïd no but wanted the same Chardonnay which arrived after my dessert was finished…. Found the food fine, but wine side poor, especially when they advertise wine cellar,etc. Would have gone elsewhere had I known . In addition requested a fire in the room on arrival. It was lit but died within 30 min. So house was freezing after dinner.

• Simon MP (9/5): Well appointed hotel high above Plettenberg Bay - We liked the sky bar, the room, the dining room and the gardens. The staff were professional and polite. The breakfast and dinner was very good also. Nothing to dislike
• Gaynor (8/5): Fantastic venue! - The views are spectacular. The food is delicious. The staff are friendly and polite. We didn't have any dislikes. We would just say that the bed linen is quite starchy and is noisy when changing position when lying in bed. Softer linen would be less disruptive while sleeping.
• paul (7/5): Perfectly nice, with very sweet obliging staff, but it just felt a managed from long distance - view great bar a little overpriced staff very sweet but needed extra training. Silly thing to complain about, but it felt like the bar/patio area really needed comfier, more lounge-like furniture. What was there was quite stiff. I also felt the bar was a little overpriced. I booked because I saw there was a spa facility, but when i arrived, the spa wasn't available at all.

• Sarahcavendish11 (4/5): Did not meet expectations. - The hotel is located within a residential estate, quite far from any amenities, which makes it inconvenient. The photos online are misleading and make the property appear much better than it actually is. The staff are acceptable but not particularly attentive, and service is very slow. The rooms are poorly insulated—you can hear everything happening in the corridors, which affects overall comfort. The cement flooring in the rooms feels cheap and out of place. For the price paid, one would expect the food to be of a high standard, but it is quite mediocre while still being expensive. Overall, this was not an enjoyable stay and certainly does not meet the standards of a 5-star hotel.

• Laura (1/5): ACHTUNG: NICHT BUCHEN! - Die Parkplätze waren ausreichen vorhanden. Sonst nichts. Zusammengefasst: das Hotel entspricht bei weitem keinem 5 Sterne Hotel. Die Zimmer waren nicht nur dreckig, sondern die gesamte Ausstattung war stark abgenutzt und wies einige Schäden auf, hier aufgelistet: - Insektennest auf dem Balkon - Bettpolster verunreinigt durch tropfendes Wasser/Auslauf aus der darüber hängenden Klimaanlage - Bettlaken mit Rückständen und Flecken - Schlieren an Wänden und Schränken - Wasserschaden an Badezimmer Unterschrank - Toilettenspülung funktionierte nicht richtig Fazit: wir wollen keine Nacht in diesem Hotel verbringen und haben uns ein anderes gesucht. Wir haben uns direkt nachdem wir das Zimmer gesehen hatten an die Rezeption & die Managerin vor Ort gewandt. Zunächst wurde uns ein kostenloses Abendessen und eine weitere Zimmerreinigung angeboten. Dies löst nun die Mehrheit der obigen Punkte nicht. Später wurde uns ein anderes Zimmer angeboten (diese sind jedoch alle aus dem gleichen Jahr und ähnlich abgenutzt). Am Tag drauf bat uns der Manager ein Glamping Zelt an was neu war. Was wir ablehnten, da wir explizit ein Hotel Zimmer für unseren Aufenthalt wollten und kein Zelt. Um die Situation für beide Parteien zu klären baten wir um einen Preisnachlass. Darauf ging die Hotelleitung nicht ein und nun werden wir nach wiederholten Mails geghostet. • Nina (10/5): Wunderschönes Hotel - Das Frühstücksbuffet und auch das Essen im Restaurant war erste Klasse. Das Personal ist super freundlich - selbst der Manager hat sich nach unserem Wohlbefinden erkundigt. Unser Zimmer war sauber und gemütlich. Das Hotel befindet sich in einer sicheren Gegend nur etwas weg von der Innenstadt (uns hat das aber nicht gestört).

Das Personal war im Vergleich zu allen anderen Unterkünften auf unserer Reise deutlich reservierter und machte vor allem einen schlecht ausgebildeten Eindruck. Es gab 2-3 Ausnahmen im Service, aber sonst wirkten viele Angestellte recht lustlos. Schon beim Check-in fühlten wir uns mehr als Belastung denn als willkommene Gäste. Die Qualität des Abendessens entspricht bestenfalls Kantinenniveau.

• Thomas (7/5): Schönes Hotel mit Abzügen in der Lage - Wir waren im Gästehaus des Hotels und dieses war sehr modern und schick eingerichtet. Die Zimmer selbst sind doch recht klein, was für einen kurzen Aufenthalt aber ausreichend ist. Frühstück gibt es im Haupthaus und das war wirklich sehr gut. Man kann zusätzlich zum Buffet noch kostenfrei a la Carte Eierspeisen,French Toast und Ähnliches dazu auswählen. Ebenfalls werden auch Kaffespezialitäten auf Wundch gebracht. Generell ist die Hotelanlage sehr sauber und gepflegt. Kostenfreie Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Die gesamte Hotelanlage ist eingezäunt und überwacht und durch ein Gate zu erreichen Die Lage des Hotels. Man ist schon ein wenig ab vom Schuss. Wir wären gern zentraler in Plettenberg gewesen.
• Marc (7/5): Beautiful inland oasis - The view is outstanding! The property is quite nice with sophisticated features and beautiful landscape. The room was comfortable and well appointed. There was ample space for parking and the staff was pleasant. The hotel is in the middle of a residential complex away from shore and close to a garbage dump. The whole complex looks quite artificial and stuck in the middle of a more industrial area. Once you are outside the gates, you are in a different environment that does not look like where you would want to spend your vacation

However it's set within a stunning gated community, with great views across the bay. We ate in the restaurant all nights and the food was top notch, we both agreed we would 100% go back. Nothing springs to mind, you could literally stay within the complex and have a great few days of R&R. Your a few minutes drive from a retail park also, which is great for anything you may need.

• Louise (6/5): An underwhelming and overpriced property. - Not much. Staff were nice and tried, but property was a real disappointment. We booked the cottage for four adults via Booking.com 9 months ago and were contacted two days before arrival by the hotel to say the accommodation could not sleep 4 adults and we were moved to the annex where we had to share kitchen/pool/living space with 8 strangers and not what we had booked and paid for. Very disappointing. The property is some distance from the beach on a residential community so little privacy and building works taking place. Residents’ dogs in the pool and cat in the kitchen. The most expensive property on our trip and absolutely the worst!

Auch das Haupthaus wunderschön und die Aussicht beim Frühstück ein Traum. Das Personal ist ausserordentlich Gastfreundlich. Die Zimmer im Guesthouse sind sehr einfach eingerichtet und vorallem vom Badezimmer habe ich mehr erwartet. Die Toilette wird jederzeit aus der Wand fallen (fühlt sich sehr instabil an) Generell Badezimmer sehr klein.

Es hat eine tolle Einrichtung, allerdings ist das Dachzimmer eher klein und eng. Die Zimmer im Dachgeschoss des Gästehauses sind für ein 5-Sterne Haus eher eng und klein.

• Chris (10/5): Excellent property with magnificent views - Magnificent views across Plettenberg Bay. Attentive and very friendly staff. Not forgetting the brilliant breakfasts. Either easy (taxi) access into town or dining in the very good restaurant. All good.
• Deirdre (8/5): Always a special, memorable stay at this hotel. - The best views of Plettenberg Bay ever. Lovely staff who are most accommodating for small requests. Stunning room. Bar fridge leaked and we had water pooling on the floor next to the bed each morning. Curtains were beautiful but had some sort of red fruit squashed into the fabric.

• 953melissat (10/5): A beautiful stay - Since booking this hotel I’ve seen some negative comments about the worthiness of 5 stars but I had a lovely stay and couldn’t fault the hotel. The access is a bit odd, into a private gated community, but that removed any security fears. We were created with champagne and given a tour of the hotel. Our room was huge with lots of amenities and we had a nice surprise of petit fours in the evening. The room had a large sun terrace with loungers and chairs. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, our meal was lovely and good value. Breakfast was amazing, a huge choice and very nicely presented. They looked after my gluten free needs very well. Due to the location you do need to drive if you go out into Plettenberg. I would definitely stay here again.

• Cassie (10/5): Aanrader! - Zeer mooi hotel! Tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Goede locatie voor Plettenberg te verkennen. Voor het hotel te bereiken moet je langs een ingangspoort. Vriendelijk personeel en goede rondleiding bij aankomst. Mooie, ruime kamers en 2x per dag handdoekwissel. Na het avondeten werd er nog een attentie zoals chocolade op de kamer bezorgd. Goed en uitgebreid ontbijt. Mogelijkheden tot middag- en avondeten in het hotel. Goede fitness en mooi zwembad en tuin. -

• Pranesh (9/5): - A fantastic stay in Plett, the hotel is beautiful and the rooms well equipped. Great breakfast, pool area and wine selection. The gym is comprehensive and very clean. Staff were always friendly if sometimes a little slow with service. Really enjoyed the option to have umbrellas and towels provided from The Bungalow (sister hotel on the beach) as well as having being able to have lunch on their deck. Nothing to dislike.

• Mads (10/5): Fantastic views and price worthy annex rooms. - The view over the area. Great pool. The annex was a nice place with good value for money. But you have to accept that you don’t have the view of the sea and no own patio. The food menu was not that great. Breakfast was great but you should expect a request for gratuity at the breakfast as they will share a copy of the breakfast cost. The price on breakfast is elevated and does not represent standard breakfast costs.

Mängel beim Service - - Gym war ganz gut ausgestattet mit Kurzhanteln und Seilzug. - Frühstück war passabel, abends haben wir auswärts gegessen. - Zimmerinterieur wirkt etwas in die Jahre gekommen und mitgenommen. - Der Service war oftmals etwas unbeholfen und wenig aufmerksam. Besonders kritisch: Die Zimmerreinigung hat die Balkontür offen gelassen – bei Zimmer 16 verläuft der Balkon teilweise fast ebenerdig, sodass Dritte auf dem Gelände leicht in das Zimmer hätten gelangen können. Für ein Haus dieser Kategorie und bei den Preisen insgesamt überzogen und nicht überzeugend.

• V4542DTpeterr (6/5): Not 5 star. - The hotel is situated high up in a gated private housing estate overlooking Plettenberg bay. The ground floor area including restaurant and bar are very smart with good decor. Our room wasn’t up to the same standard. It was small with a painted concrete floor. Not up to the standard of the public areas. Our view overlooked the bay and also a shopping mall, which you don’t see on the website. The food was good and of a high standard. The service however was poor. Inexperienced and some sullen staff. Incredibly at Sky Villa, you cannot purchase a glass of wine, you have to buy a bottle at very expensive prices, double the price of the other 3 properties we stayed at in South Africa. I would strongly recommend that management look at changing this policy. Our first night in the restaurant, diners either side of our table tried to order wine by the glass without success. Surely putting on a house red and a house white would make sense.

• Janine (10/5): Das Cottage bietet Privatsphäre, eigener Eingang und kleine Terrasse - Wir waren für 4 Nächte im Cottage und alles war super! Wir haben es geschätzt, neben dem Schlafzimmer auch einen eigenen Wohnraum mit integrierter Küche und eigener kleiner Terrasse zu haben. Es gibt eine Nespresso mit flachen Kapseln. Auch Milch, Zucker und Wasser wird zur Verfügung gestellt. Super ist, dass alle Annehmlichkeiten des Hotels mitbenutzt werden können. Der Gym verfügt ebenfalls über alles notwendige. Irritierend war nur der Lage Beschrieb des Cottage. Es gibt das Hotel, gegenüber das Cottage, welches ans Gästehaus mit mehreren Zimmern angrenzt. Die Treppe zum 2. offenen Schlafzimmer ist sehr steil.

• AMSSAM1 (10/5): Beautiful hotel - Went here on our honeymoon and our room was beautiful. We were greeted with rose petals on our bed and a bottle of bubbly which was really special. There is air conditioning in the rooms. The pool area is very quiet and relaxing, and the views from the hotel are fantastic. The hotel is in a gated community and feels very safe. Also located right next to the Old Nick market. Staff were very nice. Breakfast is delicious. We did eat dinner here once but although the food was good, the service was very slow. There is also a small gym which we used. Amazing stay, would recommend this hotel.
