- Marjorie (10/5): - The cabin was clean and comfortable. The view is spectacular. Wifi service in the cabin was a bit spotty. All communication with Bluff House staff was accomplished via text, I did not meet anyone on staff personally. The information and directions received were helpful and easy to follow.
- Joann (10/5): - Cute little cabin, very clean and new. Front porch with chairs and a view of water and woods. Friendly lady at the desk in main building. No free breakfast due to time of year. Near Acadia and several restaurants by car. Very private and quiet area. Parking right next to cabin which was convenient.
- Kami (10/5): - Incredible views, spotlessly clean, comfortable room. I loved being able to walk to the shoreline through the forest. Serene and peaceful. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was enjoying my stay. When I asked for herbal tea but there was none to be had, the hostess went to the market and bought some for me. Another hostess provided a sheet of rainy day activities on a day when the weather was not cooperating. The location to the scenic loop, the charming shops in Winter Harbor, and the lovely places to eat made this a perfect place to stay. It is a simple room, with no tv but it was very comfortable and very clean. Also, be aware that there is no elevator and only steep steps to the upstairs rooms. All in all a wonderful stay.

Would have loved a small fire pit next to the cabin however, I’m sure it’s a liability issue. Because it is a self check in, we were unclear as to the use of the main building. I should have asked… The owners communicated some awesome points of interest, via text, throughout our stay which was wonderful! My reason for 4 stars is it was a lot of money in my opinion.

- Tracey (2/5): 1 star stay - We stayed in a cabin for 3 nights Hotel information stated there was no breakfast available. We were only given enough coffee packs, filters and cups for 2 days. I went to the “inn” to see if i could find some and saw a sign saying breakfast 7-10. When i asked why we were never told about breakfast or coffee being available, despite having multiple email communications with the management, they had no answer. Personally I don’t think they told the people staying in the cabins because they didn’t want us to know because I didn’t want us to use it because I didn’t wanna pay for it. Clearly, only the people in the end actually knew about it. They do not supply any toiletries and no amenities. Absolutely not worth the money and definitely not a five star stay.

- David (6/5): The view - Well, its the view ....amazing. staying here is all about nature but if you want a restaurant be prepared to drive at least a half hour and if its a Monday or Tuesday, well you can fast. We were in the chickadee room. Its large, comfy beds and sofa. Small bathroom. The walls are thin and the people upstairs you hear every word and every footstep. The breakfast is critical as there is nothing else around. But after a couple of days of bagels and muffins you want some real hot breakfast food. Its pricey, but then the Bar Harbor area is all about freeing you from your money. You will enjoy your stay, we did.

- Debora (10/5): - We stayed in the Cranberry Room in the main inn, which was comfortable and spacious. The beds being across the large room from each other give a sense of individual space, ideal for friends traveling together. The bathroom with shower was small but adequate. The wrap-around deck/balcony has a great view of the water and small islands below, and we had one of the most the most spectacular sunset views we’ve ever seen during our stay. Large windows in the common area of the inn also overlook the water. The host was easily reachable when we had a problem with the code on our door keypad at self-check-in, and also texted several great suggestions for places to see, local dining, etc. Great for a vacation destination or a weekend getaway.

- Ileana (8/5): - Our stay at Bluff House Inn was cozy and relaxing. Self-check-in was simple with clear instructions sent by message, and the cabin itself was very cute and welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the whole place had a quiet charm that made it easy to unwind. The view was more of the woods than the ocean, but still beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was basic with prepackaged items and hard-boiled eggs, but the coffee station was wonderful—we found ourselves going back several times just for that. On the downside, the cabin had no closet or shelving, only a small bench with limited storage, which made a week-long stay with two people inconvenient since we had to live out of our luggage. The Wi-Fi router in the room had a bright blue light right above the bed that made it harder to sleep. There are also no staff members on site, so if you need anything, you have to call a third-party number for assistance. While it worked, it gave less of a sense of security knowing no one was physically around. Our room didn’t have a microwave, though one was available at the main inn. The first night, there were no utensils or cups for the ramen they sell, which was frustrating, but by the next night, it had been restocked. Overall, it was a quiet and comfortable stay with a lot of charm, but with a few adjustments to storage, on-site support, and small details, it could be even better.

There are plenty of food restaurants on Highway 1 that are delicious. White Harbor is a beautiful place with nice dining. We would definitely recommend staying with the Bluff House. It was awesome and I would do it again.

Left 6:30 & the park was pretty empty until 11 am. 2nd day explored Schoodic part of Acadia (down the road/close by). Great continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!

- Diana (8/5): - Overall it was a good experience. This is a place to disconnect, unplug and be still after a day of not being still. Staff is only there during breakfast hours. Which led to guests having to explain to the newcomers the check in process. Which is basically cause people just don't read. One guy deleted every text thinking it was spam. Continental breakfast.The family style of everyone and their children touching communal butter, cream cheese, pb and jelly was a little off-putting. Be aware that there are no room TVs. The provided toiletries are in the form of a 3 in 1 soap. You will need to climb stairs with very small and deep steps of you stay in the inn. Grocery stores are not nearby, so come prepared.. If you drive by Ellsworth... That's where you need to stop. The view is amazing and everyone was nice. Plenty of space to just sit and enjoy the view. I stayed in the inn rooms not the cabins.

Breakfast is a plus. Only downside is the distance from bar harbor town. If you won’t mind driving an hour, this place is highly recommended.

- Sandra (8/5): Amazingly beautiful but no service if needed - The hotel, the rooms and the view are absolutely breathtaking. If you're looking for peace, quiet and beauty this is it. The reasons my rating isn't 5 stars are as follows. Hotels.com says this is 6 miles from Bar Harbor. This is true as the crow flies but that is by boat. It is a 50-minute drive, however. I felt betrayed at first but the I fell in love with the place. I wanted dinner when I got there and dining within driving distance was scarce. It was very hot for the area and there was a portable a/c in the room, however it was not vented out (could not be vented out those kind of windows). Not realizing this, I turned it on and went to watch the sunset. The room was almost 90 degrees when I got back. It was blowing cold air out the front and VERY hot air out the back. Also, the very small ice machine was broken and full of water. Since the only staff we saw the whole visit was the person putting out breakfast at 7am there was no recourse and no way to get any ice or cool air in my room. Luckily it was cool enough and beautiful enough that I sat outside for another hour with the room windows open and the fan on high until it was cool enough in there to fall asleep.

My suggestions would be for a small microwave (couldn't reheat leftovers), comfortable chair inside the cabin and maybe an inside door lock to secure the door. I reported it and didn’t worry about it since short trip. But the noticed my husband chair was also missing bolt. Not major deal but found it odd that both chairs were not secure for usage.

- Satyam (6/5): - Loved the property — it was clean, well-maintained, and offered a stunning sunset view. However, it’s not very baby-friendly. The kitchen area was extremely small, making it difficult to even prepare quick meals for a baby. The garbage bin was also quite limited, which became an issue for disposing of baby diapers during our 3-day stay. We had booked the property assuming on-demand cleaning services were available (as listed on Expedia), but since it’s a self-serve apartment, there was no support on-site. When we contacted the operator through the number provided, we were informed that no cleaning services were available before checkout. Except for service, I would say its definitely a nice place to stay especially if you are not traveling with baby.

- david (10/5): Perfect 10 of 10 - What a perfect little cabin perfectly located for sunsets over the waters of Acadia. Especially nice was the informational texts about the stay. Secret spots to see wildlife, sunsets, cliffs, etc…. We will return again. Located in Schoodic portion of Acadia (much less crowded than Bar Harbor side).

Ownership had a family gathering during our stay which was uncomfortable, and felt like we were imposing on their family reunion. The stay should not have been available if that was planned as the lodge did not feel welcoming with the family and kids using the kitchen to cook breakfast and any other meals, especially in absence of providing the advertised breakfast to paying guests. Additionally, the room didn’t have a trash can.

- Lynn (6/5): Nice but needs a good cleaning - Beautiful view of the water, nice cabin and comfy bed. Nice messages with suggestions for the area from the property owner. We enjoyed staying on this side of Acadia and wouldn’t hesitate doing that again even though it is a drive. This side of Acadia is much nicer in my opinion! We did however encounter way too many spiders in the cabin. Between that, the cobwebs, dirty floors, dusty walls and the air conditioning wouldn’t work correctly. When my husband cleaned the air filter it was covered in a thick layer of dust. Hot water heater was enough for one shower in the morning. My husband had to wait an hour after I showered for the water to warm up. Also for the price it would have been nice to have a microwave in the room.

The fan motor in the bathroom had a delayed start and may need replacing or lubrication. The window was old and didnt completely close. It did have a portable AC unit and was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The view of the harbor from the front deck was amazing. The young man at the desk was very nice.

It probably isn't a place for children as there isn't even a TV which was fine with me. The entire area is super dog friendly. If you stay, be sure to walk to the ocean during low tide it is incredibly peaceful.

- Mark (8/5): - This is a rustic Maine property and the current owners have done a nice job of promoting that aspect. Great views and super original artwork in the main inn. It doesn't translate to the cabins, but those are very quaint and workable. I would love to come back in the fall when colors are out and try these again. Winter Hbr. and Schoodic ANP are a short drive away and must see attractions. Friendly owners and accommodating.
