Guest Reviews
- Brian (10/5): - That’s a little cute hotel with a restaurant in the first floor. It’s good for a couple try to get away from a busy city.
- Heidi (10/5): Great place to stay!! - Great small place to stay, its our second time staying here and will keep staying here. The people are very nice, quick checkin, and you receive a free pizza. The room is very comfy and spacious. We will be back soon!
- robert (6/5): - If it was not for Cassie , this would have been a horrible stay . The owner is non existent even though he lives in the room next to ours. The room we had was comfortable , the bed was unique and the rain shower was nice but the bldg. is a complete mess. I know owning a business is difficult especially in Covid times ,but at least act like you care about your business and customers.
- Sharon (10/5): Thank you, Ivy Bear! - What more could you ask for, spacious and clean rooms, friendly and accommodating service, and vouchers for the on-site pizza parlour, the pizza delicious!
- Sharon (10/5): - Great experience. Our tiny mountain house couldn’t accommodate visiting adult grandchildren and our daughter-in-law so we rented two rooms at Ivy Bear. Not only were the rooms spotless, the owner gave out vouchers toward his delicious pizza. Everyone loved it. Thank you. We will be back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Bad location (loud highway), but excellent pizza and a terrific bed (mattress)!
- Suzanne (10/5): - Scott, the proprietor, was the best. He took care of us, showed us around, and made delicious pizza for us. Our room was perfect. It was a great way to start our vacation.
- Terri (10/5): - Clean and late checkin was promt.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The lady that checked me in was top notch friendly and informative
- JacobHernandez (4/5): - At 11 pm we complained about excessive noise from the drunk couple in the room next to us. At mid when we complained again, the after hours staff explained to me over the phone that they were staying 4-5 nights and my family only for one night (which makes the drunk couple more important?). They offered to have us move to another room, which if you have two small children, at midnight, isn't going to work. The when i suggested that perhaps he could ask his guests to be quiet and not be outrageously drunk in the hallways, he hung up on me. So just keep that in mind if you stay here, you are more important if you stay more nights. Will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!
- Michael (10/5): - My stay was excellent from start to finish, including the pizza.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good Food, had the French Dip sandwich and a pizza to share. Room was clean. Booked a King bed but was accommodated with a larger room with queen bed. Not what I expected but was comfortable. staff was great. would stay again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room I was shown to was not clean so I had to wait an hour. In the morning I discovered the sheets had not been changed. I had been expecting much but clean sheets is a must.
- Kim (8/5): - The room was comfortable, quiet, spacious and clean. We were very comfortable there for 2 nights. Cassie was great- got us anything we needed and was very helpful.
The only complaint is that one of the lights in the room on the wall was shorted out and the fan in the bathroom was broken- seems some electrical problems. Also, there wasn't a bathtub; I'm always looking forward to taking a bath after a long cold day of skiing, but the shower head and water pressure were GREAT, and almost made up for that!
- Elizabeth D. (8/5): nice place - This was a cute place to stay, close to MT hood. The lady at the front was very nice and helpful. Not a great view, and the area surrounding the B&B was a little messy. However, the pizza was delicious and the rooms was nice for the price! We'd stay again.
- Joe (10/5): - This is a very special place I will never forget.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great little getaway for a couple neat timberline lodge.
- Iris (8/5): - The room was nicely decorated with a beautiful hand carved bed. Staff was nice and check in was easy. We had a hard time heating the room however. We only saw an AC unit but no heater or thermostat. The pizzeria was delicious.
- lelia (8/5): Great for 1-2 days - The Ivy is very quaint, great for 1 maybe 2 days. The room was fine since we were not in it for very long. The bed was beautiful carved wood but the matress was horrible. I have a bad back and it just got wose while sleeping there. The folks that run the Ivy were very accommodating. Good parking, easy on and off the highway.
- Deborah (8/5): Comfy place, a bit noisy - Check-in was easy, room was nicely appointed and very comfy. We didn't hear street noise, but did hear people downstairs in the pizzeria until it closed. Friendly staff, great pizza.
- Emily (8/5): - Small place tucked next to the highway, 3 rooms above a pizza parlor. Unique and comfortable rooms with lots of books and puzzles. Very clean. Pizza was quite good.
- Julie (8/5): - This is an unusual and great place. A bed and pizza instead of B&B. The pizza was terrific and the room was spacious and comfortable. Had a little trouble with the toilet and a window shade. Very hospitable and helpful staff
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I could not get in ! They locked the front entrance and left a number to call that no one answered! Terrible!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place has a ton of character and a super friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place is really homie and comfortable. The host is friendly, too.
- Rae (10/5): - Loved the atmosphere, great spacious room, very comfortable. Enjoyed our pizza, too.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Don't know, thought I cancelled my reservation but was still charged. The distance was a lie on the my, as the crow flies isn't the same as driving distance.
- David (10/5): - Great pizza and great hosts
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was cozy and warm all around. Great place to relax.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was perfect for the area of interest. The place was clean and staff friendly. There was no breakfast available.
- Irene (8/5): Comfy - An overnight stay. Comfortable room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The people here were very friendly and made sure to make my family feel welcomed and comfortable
- David (10/5): - Close to Mt. Hood, quiet and clean with friendly staff. The pizza was good as well
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very pleasant & helpful staff. Parts of the property are starting to show its age & could use some "sprucing up".
- Holly (10/5): - Charming little place between the mountain and the city with a large shared deck and large room (huge bathroom! ) Staff were friendly and accommodating our late-arriving large group.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a great facility. My family of five stayed here one night after visiting Mount Hood, the Fruit Loop, and surrounding area. The experience was unique, the pizza was delicious. We would recommend this place to anyone! A fun idea, a B & P!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very cute small hotel in the mountains. It felt like a B&B without any unnecessary need for communication with the staff. There was a separate entrance from the outside of the room or you could come down the stairs into the restaurant area. The salads and pizza we had were very good. A great stop on a trip up to Mount Hood.
- Jeff (8/5): - It was a little noisy being on the main road. But I would definitely stay there again
- KAW (10/5): - The rooms were above the pizza parlor and very quaint. We loved the place. The staff was amazing and you get a discount on your pizza for dinner. Highly recommend.
- Shannon (10/5): Pleasant getaway - Terrific customer service and an enjoyable stay at the Ivy Bear.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - When we pulled in, we were very concerned as the outside front needs a major renovation, but once inside the place was adorable and unique. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The pizzaria was fabulous and delicious with an arcade and games for the boys. I highly recommend this to anyone passing through. Fun place 😊
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and cozy. Close to all the fun stuff at Mt Hood.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place was perfect. Stayed after a long hiking trip at Timberline Lodge and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Room had everything we needed and very cute, pizza was needed after our long hike and was amazing! Definitely recommend for a quick stay!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They made our stay most pleasant. Always smiling and eager to please.
- Lucinda K (8/5): July Ivy Bear Stay - Carrie was FANTASTIC!! Super welcoming, friendly & accommodating -- both for our room stay & our restaurant visit. Restaurant food was very good & reasonably priced. Greatly appreciated the $10 dinner discount as adjustment for no formal breakfast.
Only negative comment is our request for assistance with getting our luggage down steep stairs on morning of our departure was not fulfilled.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The people were very nice , and the pizza was great. Shared some history when we ate. Needed more cups for 4 people and could hear the video games at night in room. Would be better if the arcade could be shut down at night. Nice location.
- Bernard (10/5): Great Ivy Bear! - Excellent facility and very comfy room. I was surprised to see this rated below 4/5 online! It deserves more than than that, certainly not less than a 4.6. Our room could have been bigger for a group of 3, but it was very comfy and clean, and the check-in person was very friendly and helpful. The place is quiet despite being along a very busy road. The only thing I'd say to work on is tidying up the parking lot - there was some trash and uncollected twigs. The yard needs some loving to. We'd definitely come back and recommend it to anyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We liked this place alot. Keep in mind they have rooms but it is also a pizzeria. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was upstairs and was spacious, comfortable, clean, and had a rustic, cabin-like feel to it that we enjoyed. We ordered one of their delicious pizzas plus beer ($10 off the pizza for having a room) and they personally delivered it to our room. Please note they don't serve breakfast so be prepared for this (this is why they give you a $10 credit toward food in their pizzeria). We liked the location of this place as we were visiting the Mt. Hood area. The price of the room was very reasonable and proved to be one of our favorite places to stay during our trip through Oregon.
- Norm (10/5): - Friendliness of staff and cleanliness of room was exceptional. Grounds are a bit deceitful of accommodations and could use some TLC. Definitely would stay here again.
- Christopher (10/5): Cute bed and pizza place! - Great stay! We enjoyed the bear decor and theme. Three rooms upstairs and pizza restaurant downstairs. Great customer service and we received $10 credit for food. Tasty pizza! Room was a rustic feel. The bed was a little firm but overall pleasant and clean room. We'll be back for sure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Most comfortable bed we’ve had in lodging in a very long time. The staff was superb....our room wasn’t quite ready and we needed to change clothes for a wedding. They found an empty room, let us change, and put our luggage in our room while we were gone....all with a friendly and happy attitude. And the pizza downstairs was superb!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great pizza, adequate lodging - Service, pizza and beer was great. Room was clean, however the outside areas were not well kept. There was no sound insulation between the rooms which resulted in little sleep. Even though we were above a pizzeria, there was no smell or noise from it. Overall, we would stay there again. It was well worth it at the price.
- Thomas (8/5): - Liked everything and indeed everyone at that place - not to mention its great location close to Mt Hood !
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We only saw one person downstairs, she was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. Big bathroom, but a only a small shower. There was coffee in the room. The property is right off the highway, so it is noisy. Overall, a decent place to stay for the price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place is so cool! It’s right next to My Hood and they make killer pizza too!!
- kathleen d (10/5): Fantastic - Cute room. Super friendly servive. Clean and comfortable. Will stay there again for sure!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Me and my son went up to Timberline for skiing. Friendly people, good pizza, clean room, quiet place.
We loved it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice, clean and comfortable room. Great location and great staff.
- Timothy (6/5): Unique pub-like environ - This is not your Hiltonesque type of hotel. It’s much like a small English coaching inn/pub. As long as you know that going in, you’ll be okay. But at least they’ve spent money where it counts: memory foam mattress! And the pizza is really good! I’m not a beer connoisseur but they had a decent selection on tap so I found a good pint for my tastes.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very inexpensive. Great for families and very cozy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cutest place ever and the best pizza. Staff was so friendly and helpful
- Gary (6/5): Might stay again. If only 2 of us - Nice place. Wasn't happy with beds. Paying that much to sleep on rollaway, that were very uncomfortable. Got to see into other rooms and they have nice beds.
- William (8/5): Bed without a Breakfast - Was hoping for breakfast before I headed up to Mt Hood, especially aince it’s called a Bed and Breakfast.
- Anon (10/5): - The whole family enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Mom and Dad dug the pizza and pitcher of beer... Yum!
- Thomas (10/5): - nice little place to stay would stay there again great owner
- Miriam (6/5): Descriptive - On hotels.com they called it a four star hotel. B and P is bed and pizza. Because we arrived after the restraunt closed they gave us a $20.00 pet fee credit. I wouldn't call it that. It was three rooms above a pizza jont. It was awkward finding the room. The address we received was accross the street from the facility so we wondered trying to find the place. It was dark so I somewhat feared driving through someone's property.
The room was clean and cute. Log style bed. Couch. Coffee machine, refer., mic.The receptionist said the owner would come help start the heater, but did not come. We figured it out.
It was winter but stuff outside was kind of junkyard and muddy.
- Sean (10/5): Rustic and friendly - Ivy Bear is very rustic. It is not a deluxe resort but is rustic and neat which makes up for the slightly less comfortable beds. The staff was really friendly and the location was great for skiing.
- Kera (8/5): - Extremely clean and comfortable.
The room was left open for us.
There was only one snag, no one was there at 10:00 pm when we arrived and no one was there at 9:00 am when we departed, but that didn’t make our stay unpleasant. We would recommend this establishment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very cozy, and having immediate access to pizza is amazing!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed two nights for our 33rd anniversary. The room was a very romantic get away. Very clean even had a disinfected TV remote! The staff was very friendly and responsive. Gave us a free bottle of wine and cookies. Lots of reading material in the room.
- Gary (10/5): - I like everything except it was too windy and cold to have a bonfire outback by the beautiful wagon
- Gary (10/5): - We loved the custom made beds and the coziness of the rooms and the nostalgia built-in to the restaurant
- Daniel (10/5): Friendly, very comfortable mom-and-pop inn - The proprietor Scott went out of his way to accommodate a very late check-in. I am happy to recommend this small inn to everyone.
- Pat (8/5): - Hosts were extremely helpful! Good ideas re seeing local fall folliage and even carried suitcase up stairs. Pizza great. Room rate includes discount on pizza. Once found handy location for MtHood scenic loop and not far to Portland airport.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the room was very nice and close to the mountain. Not much to do at the B&B but great spot to stop for a one night stay.
