• Laurel (10/5): A great value! - Breakfast was a nice perk and so were the nightly bonfires. Laundry facilities were convenient and the staff was super helpful and friendly. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The room looked exactly like pictured on the site. A connector path is on the back of the property leading into Acadia national Park. The city bus picks up at the front of the hotel and it’s only a 5 min. ride down to the quaint Bar Harbor town center.

• Diane (10/5): We loved our stay at the Bar Harbor Motel! - The breakfast was great, something for everyone. One person in my group is GF and she was happy you had GF options. I love the path to the carriage trails so we didn’t need to ride our bikes on the main roads. Room had a frig, microwave and coffee maker. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. A little disappointed that you didn’t have a storage shed for bikes. When I stayed here 8 years ago there was a storage shed to put bikes to keep out of the rain.

• Tom (10/5): We were on a 10 day and 5 city tour and this was the top! - I loved the complimentary breakfast. Was expecting cereal and coffee and was so pleased with the bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs fresh fruit and French toast plus the cereal and coffee. The s’mores by campfire was an awesome touch. This location is amazing with the Island Express at the hotel which is free and get’s you downtown in minutes. We also loved the direct access to Acadia national park! Nothing!

It was very reasonably priced. Being in a handicap area next to the laundry room several times we came back someone was parked in our handicap space doing laundry and our room was at this spot. We couldn’t park at our room or our spot.

We would return and I would recommend it to others. - Quaint, vintage feel, good breakfast, comfy, clean, vintage-look posters were darling, great activities (the girl who manned the granola bar was so friendly and fun). I reserved a room with 2 queen beds, when we checked in, we were “upgraded” to a family room. It was small and dark and choppy. I noticed there were other queen rooms still available (it was late evening when we got there). My husband asked if we could switch and was told no. I visited with them further and finally got them to switch us to the room type I had reserved. They weren’t very kind or cooperative. I’m sure it is complicated and I’m glad they were ultimately willing to fix the issue, but I didn’t feel good about the process.

I loved the trees all around the property, and it was set back a bit from the street so you didn't hear the street noise. Very quite and private. The breakfast spread was wonderful. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Lots of room for kids to play, ride bikes, swim, etc. Would have been especially great to bring a young family to, or when multiple families are traveling together.

• susangQ5603WZ (10/5): Perfect birthday trip! - Loved our stay here. We had a 2 bedroom family room. It was spotlessly cleaned. All staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Included breakfast exceeded our expectations! They even wrote a happy birthday message to me on the large board in the breakfast room, lol! Location was great. It was an easy, safe walk into downtown, but there is also a shuttle stop right out front. A carriage road access trail into the park was directly behind our room. We walked the trails all the way to the Hull Visitors center! I will definitely stay here again and have recommended it to several people wanting to visit the area. Thank you for helping make my 60th birthday perfect!

• Groomba (10/5): Adorable, clean, and wonderful kitschy and cozy motel near Acadia and Bar Harbor. - This motel is awesome! It was recommended to us by family members that have stayed here every year for the last 20 years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well appointed. The breakfast was more than a continental breakfast offering eggs, proteins, bagels, breads, muffins, fruit, and so much more. The laundry facilities were great. The activities offered look like so much fun. It would definitely be somewhere families with children would enjoy. Be sure to check out the trail leaving the back of the grounds that leads into Acadia National Park.

The concept is so cute, very retro and well executed, the rooms are very spacious very clean and comfortable. Now the food… yes is true what the reviews said, they have a good selection of items, fresh fruit and snacks for the go. The staff was very friendly and polite they do activities with the guest that help to engage if you want, also what we found very helpful was the little cards throughout the room and in the key card holder where it explains what you need to know about your stay in the premises. Overall comfortable, pleasant stay

My kids are grown, but I noticed they had activities for the littles & the breakfast choices were impressive. I will absolutely recommend this place to friends & family. • R5960VLjeans (10/5): As Always--FAB! - We have stayed here multiple times---sometimes with a family member, sometimes we are joined by a large group of hiking friends. Regardless, the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. They offer up spare hiking sticks and umbrellas in case someone has forgotten theirs, they are kind enough to let our large group use the dining area for pizza and games when we arrive. The pool is wonderful in the summer, AND they are on one of the carriage trails and are a bus top for the Acadia Free bus. Clean rooms with a fun modern yet 50s vibe--this place is so sweet.

• A9955UIpatrickm (10/5): Pleasantly surprised - We just had a bad experience in Rockport with the hotel we booked. It looked nothing like the photos and the reviews couldn’t be trusted. We were a little skeptical when we were checking in at the Bar Harbor Motel because of this. We had read reviews and looked at photos for this place, too. We were pleasantly surprised. The property was in a good location and the rooms were nice and clean. The complimentary continental breakfast was very good and we also utilized the laundry facilities which was very helpful. We will definitely book here again when we come back to Bar Harbor.

• 22clintd (10/5): LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this place! - My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights (Wednesday-Friday). When originally booking, we were a little hesitant, just due to the fact that the doors to your room open to the outside. That may sound ridiculous, but we typically stay in hotels where the rooms are inside. However, after seeing the reviews, we decided to give it a try. Upon arriving you quickly realize this place is special and unique! The staff is maybe the most helpful we have ever had . They explained everything about the hotel, all the amenities, etc. This hotel is a nationally rated and for good reason! It has a retro feel, even the rooms, but it is 100% updated, clean and modern! It almost has a “summer camp” feel. It is super quiet, each guest is very polite and nice! They have an on site laundry room with (3 washers, 3 dryers). They even provide detergent and dryer sheets. You can get quarters from the check in desk. They have activities each night. One night while we were there, they had pumpkin carving…they even had the pumpkins emptied out and ready to carve! They just have everything thought of. Umbrellas if it’s raining to borrow, walking sticks, etc. we would DEFINITELY stay here again! Do yourself a favor and stay here if in Bar Harbor
• m0riannr (10/5): Bar Harbor Stay - Prior to us going we received several recommendation emails regarding dining, Acadia National Park and other excursions. The staff was so nice and helpful. The property is well-maintained and clean. They have a nice breakfast in the morning that is included with your stay. They also offer at no cost, hiking poles, umbrellas, games, etc. It's about a mile walk to town or there is a free shuttle available with a stop right in front of the motel. We will defiantly stay here again!

Adorable mid century modern decor. Meticulously clean. Staff that is accommodating and helpful. Activities for kids throughout the day. Cute outdoor seating and a breakfast that has everything to start your day…. Included. It’s a 5 star stay in a cozy comfortable family and kid friendly environment. I will be back! We found it randomly on Trip Advisor and weren't sure what to expect because the price was more reasonable than any other hotel around. Everything about the motel is top notch! The property was very clean, the staff was so friendly and accommodating and the rooms were clean and comfortable! They had a pumpkin carving table set up out front for guests to participate in that made us feel like kids again! The bus to the village area was right out front- so convenient! The continental breakfast was the best we have ever had at any motel on the road! The selection included eggs, sausage, bacon, muffins, french toast, pastries, bagels, fresh fruit (including Maine blueberries!) juices, milk etc, etc etc! We would definitely stay at this property again!

• Kacki62 (8/5): Nice retro motel in Bar Harbor! - We stayed here for two nights while visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. I had stayed here back in 2008, and the rooms had been updated since then. The rooms are very retro with a lot of space for families. I like the fact that you can pull your car right up to the door to unload! Our room was very spacious - king size bed in the first room and a bathroom in the middle with two queens in the additional room in the back. Everything was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. If I had any complaint, it would be the bathroom. It was very small - especially the sink and toilet. The toilet was also so low to the ground. Wish there was a little more counter space in the bathroom as well. They offered breakfast, but we didn't partake of that. Check in and check out was a breeze. Overall, I would stay there again.

• Weezie-Faust (10/5): A Great Stay! - I read the reviews prior to booking and this place did not disappoint! We were pleasantly greeted upon arrival. While checking in, I was told we had been upgraded to a family suite. My daughter was thrilled to have a whole room to herself. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. At night, the fire pit was going and everyone sitting out there seemed to be enjoying themselves. In the morning, there were ample choices for breakfast. Outside the lobby was a “make your own trail mix” station. Overall, a very pleasant experience. We will be returning to this little gem of a motel!

What a pleasant surprise--their staff and service (including a fantastic breakfast daily) were as good or better than any 5-star hotel we have stayed at. We would recommend this motel to all travelling to the area. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. They have thought of everything. In addition, the maintenance and housekeeping staff were great!

• L4137NBjohnw (2/5): Ridiculous restrictive unfair cancelation policy - Decent motel but beware of their restrictive, unfair and expensive cancelation policy. I've stayed twice in previous years with the Bar Harbor Motel, both solid experiences. Today, I had to cancel an upcoming stay, four full days before our arrival. They hid behind their restrictive policy and kept my $400 deposit. I doubt they'll have a problem rebooking our room. Four days is plenty of notice for a cancelation. Keeping my $400 for a non-stay is no way to treat a returning customer.
