- Nicolas (8/5): Bon séjour à la villa Cagnola - Très jolie villa avec un trés beau panorama. Personne à l'accueil très sympa qui parle le français, ce qui a été un plus pour nous qui ne parlons pas trés bien anglais ni italien. Les chambres sont simples, manque peut être un touche italienne dans les chambres, ce qui donnerait un petit plus. Le petit déjeuné était très varié et très bon.

- Dietmar (6/5): Für eine Nacht ok - Das Hotel hat eindeutig schon bessere Tage gesehen. Es ist inzwischen ein deutlicher Sanierungsstau aufgelaufen, sodass das Gebäude weniger Villa ist als Herberge. Der Nachtportier war sehr zuvorkommend. Das inkludiert Frühstück in Ordnung. Für eine Nacht OK.

- bruno (4/5): bad hotel, good staff - vieilles chambres, odeur de rance, clim ne fonctionnait pas, multitude araignees au plafond signifiant un manque de nettoyage, petit dejeuner vraiment basique. Heureusement que le staff etait sympathique.
- Daan (6/5): - Het hotel oogt erg idyllisch, maar is uiteindelijk matig onderhouden. De airco werkt amper en het stapelbed voor de kinderen ja erg wankel. Daarnaast is het ontbijt vrij matig en beperkt. Overal prima voor een nachtje, maar qua uitstraling en uitzicht verwacht je meer.
- Jeroen (6/5): - Het is een mooi stijlvol oud gebouw. We hebben een familiekamer geboekt omdat we op doorreis zijn. Voor de kinderen staat er een stapelbed op de kamer, echter is dit nogal instabiel. Erger is dat er niet het juiste beddengoed aanwezig is voor dit stapelbed. Helaas kon de airco op de kamer niet opboksen tegen de hitte, dit compenseerde de unit door de hele nacht een oude wasmachine te imiteren. Alles negatief? Nee hoor! De ontvangst was vriendelijk en meer dan prima. De tuin en het uitzicht is top. Het ontbijt was heerlijk. Voor ons was dit een prima tussenstop.

- Aimee (6/5): - Upon arrival the front desk staff were nice but not very welcoming. They handed us our room key and didn’t tell us anything about the amenities or free breakfast at the hotel. We had to keep asking questions. The rooms were clean but the carpet is old and stained in the rooms and hallways. The AC did not work in our room. We chose this hotel to stay one night before flying out of Milan. It was fine for that but would not stay here for a vacation. We walked to town and that had little to offer as well.
- Roger (2/5): Établissement sans aucun intérêt - Parfait pour une retraite spirituelle, petits lits inconfortables avec crucifix, salle de bain spartiate, comme la chambre. Et vue sur le parking. Très bruyant, jeunes gens occupant des chambres au même étage, sans retenues aucunes, criant dans le couloir et claquant les portes. De plus l’établissement organise des mariages, impossible de dîner en extérieur tout l’établissement étant monopolisé par cet événement. Établissement très isolé, sans aucun attrait, sauf pour les personnes recherchant une retraite monastique.

Fascinating history was explained with great pride by lady at front desk. The breakfast was lovely. Within walking distance of train station, but there are no station personnel, so know what train you need.

- Michael (8/5): Schönes Haus in toller Lage - Wir haben das Hotel nur auf der Durchreise besucht. Das Gebäude ist sehr schön, die Lage war für uns gut, der Parkplatz war nachts abgeschlossen. Das Zimmer war schlicht und zweckmäßig, die Matratze nicht ganz so gut. Frühstück war ausreichend und lecker.

- Ioannis (4/5): Dirty room, beautiful building, unprofessional - The building looks beautiful and the interior is clean, very well kept and everything feels like you're about to have a great stay. However, the room was small and looked like it hadn't been renovated since 1980. Aesthetically speaking it was below average. But that is nothing compared to what we found when we moved the twin beds. Underneath the beds were a potato chip, an empty red bull can and an empty carton of some type of product (we didn't pick it up). Though the bathroom was clean and generally the room felt that it was vacuumed, they clearly had neglected doing the very basic thing of vacuuming under the beds. The beds were on wheels so it was the easiest of tasks. Adding to that several other details, like the shower door hanging loose thus allowing water to splash on the floor, or the fact that the duvet cover was basically a big bed sheet wrapped around it, made everything feel too basic for what the exterior and eventually the price suggested. Finally, the buffet breakfast was keeping in line with the rest, being average to say the least. The breakfast area also felt left to its own devices and the big round tables that would better suit a wedding reception than the restaurant/breakfast area of a hotel also felt to be a choice made not after careful consideration. Generally this was one of the greatest disappointments.

- Alex (4/5): Awful - We stayed for 2 nights at the end of July as a friend was getting married in the area. The villa itself, and the surrounding views are very pretty but the accommodation is very basic and uncomfortable, similar to a prison cell. The A/C did not work, the room was dark, depressing and in very serious need of modernisation. Worst of all on both nights the hotel hosted private functions with music blaring outside our bedroom window until 1am in the morning leading to an awful nights sleep across both days. The staff were not particularly interested in our complaints when we raised them and just told us ‘it will be over soon’. Pretty awful stay really.

However the room I was given was very old, out dated, and the acoustics were terrible... very strange clicking sounds (pipes creaking perhaps?) with ear plugs I would have gone crazy.
