Guest Reviews
- Tikekar (9/5): - Good location. Caring staff. At a reasonable distance from the Airport and rly station There is no lift so inconvenient for senior citizens and the persons with special needs. Lane leading to the place is narrow and congested.
- Piyush (9/5): - Absolutely loved the location. The staff is super sweet and welcoming, while the room is quite spacious. The hotel is also in the main vicinity of Hauz Khas which is bustling and getting around is quite easy as well. Must recommend for travellers who want to stay closer to the city center.
- Gauri (8/5): GREAT EXPERIENCE - The location and overall experience was nice.
- Tom (5/5): Disappointing. Not worth the £. I’d recommend staying elsewhere. - Room is massive. Good air-con & comfy bed. Asked several times for them to refill shampoo/shower gel as they were empty, they said they would and never did. Shower wasn’t working one morning too. Breakfast I didn’t get because timing.
- Martin (10/5): The Minimalist was above all my expectations we had cycled from Kathmandu to New Delhi and they helped store our bikes u - New Delhi is a crazy place when you arrive at the Minimalist you are welcomed with a calm atmosphere. It is like stepping into an oasis. The staff are friendly and always tried to help with anything we asked of them.
- Ayush (9/5): - The view and the huge rooms
- STEPHEN (10/5): brilliant place, the management and staff are dedicated to making sure your stay is as good as possible - everything, breakfast is great, as is the general menu nothing
- STEPHEN (10/5): arrived exhausted after three week bicycle trip from Katmadu, the Lady on reception was helpful beyond belief, getting u - everything
Breakfast is fantastic as is the general food menu nothing
- Ravi (6/5): - Modern and spacious rooms Surrounding isn’t clean, washroom cleanliness is an issue too
- STEPHEN (10/5): - w when we arrived, the lady at reception was incredibly helpful no reception sign outside
- Sindhoora (9/5): I had a pleasant stay. - The room was clean and comfortable. All the appliances- tv, mini fridge, ac worked well. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. One small note would be that the bed was creaky.
- Sylvia (1/5): - They let me pay 3x and after 2 months I have not received any compensation.
- Siddharth (3/5): Avoidable. - Location is nice. Gray restaurant. But area outside is smelly. Sewage water attracting flies. AC didn’t work.
Vriendelijk personeel. De prijzen voor wassen zijn buitensporig hoog.
- Stuart (10/5): I stayed with my two adult daughters upstairs in the penthouse suite- the views of the surrounding park was spectacular- - Very friendly staff. Good location with beautiful views of trees and birds.
- Jitin (3/5): -
- Vira (6/5): Economic option, good for one night stay - Nice cafe downstairs, nice bed and clean linen The room door was not closing well, bathroom is outdated
- Jenna (7/5): -
- Chaudhary (1/5): -
- Jess (8/5): -
- Justin (8/5): -
- Steven (10/5): - Excellent value for money. Very comfy bed.
After getting food poisoning they let me stay an extra night and gave me free rehydration salts. Legendary performance!
- Terry (9/5): - The room was very spacious, and well appointed. Comfortable bed. Powerful shower with plenty of hot water. Kettle with tea and coffee. The breakfast choice was nice. Classic Indian dishes, and continental, with unlimited masala tea, coffee, fruit juice, and toast. They have a nice dinner menu too. Preeti, and her staff were very welcoming, and helpful. This is the second stay here, and won't be the last. Its well positioned for the bohemian quarter, and local parks. Highly recommend. The windows leaked a little rain, although it was a severe thunderstorm. There is also an unsightly amount of rubbish on the view out of the forest view windows, although I'm not sure what the hotel could do about that, it's not their rubbish.
- Kaushik (8/5): -
- Vineet (9/5): Comfortable. friendly and informal place to stay - The staff was exceptionally hospitable and helpful. I would especially like to commend Preeti from the front desk who went out of her way to be accommodating. The other front desk staff were also excellent at their Job. Preeti, while quickly understanding what we needed, also volunteered to be a guide for one of the guests and took her around to show the sights of Delhi, which took the service to a level far above the rest. The initial interaction with the hotel was not very encouraging, because they didn't accept payment through booking.com, and separate arrangements had to be made to transfer money. We also didn't expect to walk quite a distance to the hotel as public vehicles are not allowed inside the Village. The hotel was also difficult to find but once we were inside everything else seems to work like clock work
- Jess (3/5): - The bedroom was ok. I got upgraded, and it was much better than the original King suite I booked but still not great. The shower barely worked, there was loud banging noises all night, almost like someone was dragging a chair across the floor all evening.
- Maria (10/5): - I’ve stayed at The Minimalist One a couple of times now, and I can honestly say it’s my favourite place to stay in Delhi.
There’s something very special about this place, especially the room I stayed in. This hotel stands out as one of the most memorable places I’ve ever experienced when it comes to hotels or accommodation.
What makes it even more unique is the atmosphere: it somehow makes you feel like the perfect guest, which still makes me smile as I write this.
The staff are incredibly kind, friendly, and genuinely helpful. You feel truly welcomed and taken care of.
Whenever I come back to Delhi, this is the place I want to return to.
If you’re visiting the city, don’t miss The Minimalist One in Hauz Khas Village.
- Shabnam (8/5): Comfortable, nature friendly, Very good service from the staff - Breakfast is awesome. I requested room service for my parents as it was difficult for them to go downstairs. Room is big enough for four people. We had a beautiful terrace just adjacent to our room.
Location is great. Just beside the Hauz khas village.
I must mention the staff services. They are always ready to help. I thank Nayeem, Preeti and others for that. I was traveling with my aged parents. We booked a room for four people. It is on the 4th floor and unfortunately there is no lift. It was a really bad experience for people with knee problems. Our room was also not as clean as my expectations. I felt the property needs some renovations. There is no holder where clothes can be kept inside the bathroom. Also a problem with one ac.
Though the location is excellent for visiting the Hauz khas village, when we arrived we needed to walk around 10-15mins from the parking lot to reach the hotel. So I suggest everyone to contact the property because they arrange pick up and drop up from the parking.
- Luisa (7/5): -
- Tobias (5/5): War sicher mal sehr schön und stilvoll. Leider keine Instandhaltung und Pflege - Gute Lage. Hostel stilvoll gestaltet vor 20 Jahren. Freundliches Personal. Zustand leider runtergekommen und ungepflegt. Instandhaltung schlecht.
- Sarah (9/5): - Amazing staff, great coffee downstairs and breakfast included.
- Philippe (9/5): We loved our stay at minimalist - We loved our stay at minimalist one. Very welcoming, very well located, very well kept.
- Ralf (7/5): -
- Sophie (10/5): -
- Alok (9/5): - Peaceful, best place in delhi.
- Pena (2/5): Don't stay here!!! - Place is dirty.worn out and in need of paint and repairs. Cleaning staff quit en masse while we were there and we were expected to excuse the state of cleanliness on that basis! Filthy.leaking toilet in the lobby leading into restaurant that never had paper and nothing to dry your hands with. Website photos are misleading...must have been taken 20 years ago. Plate with food left on floor of hallway for 2 days on 3rd floor was only removed when we brought it down to the lobby. In summary, the place is a disaster and needs a visit from the health inspector.
- Kelvin (8/5): Excellent location and great staff. - Location was brilliant! Short walk to bars, restaurants, the lake and Deer Park. Facilities were a bit dated but the hotel had a really nice vibe.
- singh (10/5): -
- Jill (10/5): Great location, great service - Location was exceptional! The staff was very helpful and the rooms comfortable. It was a bit of a trek to get from the primary entrance to the Hauz Kaz neighborhood to the hotel. Due to street congestion, our uber driver could not bring us in - line r pick us up in front of the hotel. If you don’t mind a short two-block walk, it’s well worth it!
- Kozik (9/5): - The stuff was very very helpful. They were very attentive and responsive towards everything we asked for. From a lost phone in a late night Uber drive all the way to specific dietary needs they did exemptional job while we were their guests. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was very tasty. For the usual New Delhi hotel standards it truly stands out. Could recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to New Delhi. The street is quite busy at night and every morning you can very clearly hear the praying from a nearby minaret which was rather annoying
- SubraSubramanian (9/5): Will definitely recommend - a great value for money - The room was spacious and nice, the breakfast was sumptuous
Loved Preeti at reception - she was warm, friendly and was super helpful a bit of dirt on the stairsa nd the way to the rooms
- Amandeep (10/5): It was really good will be visiting soon again. - The location is close to the downtown area and within walking distance of many places. There are also good food options nearby. The room had a great view from the penthouse, and the breakfast was excellent—the café is conveniently located just downstairs. I had a great experience and will definitely be visiting again soon. It is not the property fault but the cab couldnt get in over the weekend.
- Helen (8/5): - Staff were great. Preeti, in particular, was exceptional in her help, advice and patience in answering our many questions Property, a little tired and in need of TLC. Great location.
- Helen (10/5): -
- Molly (10/5): - Simple well designed rooms, comfy beds, and staff were so friendly and helpful. I was unwell for the first part of the stay and they went above and beyond for us Hot water ran out quite quickly
- yann (10/5): -
- Kristen (9/5): -
- Feghali (9/5): Support through my first Indian wedding - Ok story time: I was in Delhi for a wedding and needed a quick overnighter. It couldn’t have gone smoother. They got my room ready two hours early, I had time to store my bags and eat. I’m especially grateful to Preeti who was not only radiant and friendly but who went above and beyond. This was my first time wearing a lehenga and obviously didn’t know what I was doing. I called the front desk to ask about their shuttle service and tried my luck to see if I could get her advice. This woman ran up the stairs, assessed my situation and went to a store nearby to get clothes pins. She helped me secure 8 different spots on my outfit and gave me 3 options to drape my dupatta. We chatted for a bit and I was very sad to say goodbye the next day. If you have a chance to stay at the Minimalist, it’s an adorable quaint hotel with interesting people worth running into at the café downstairs. The terrace also has a beautiful view. And I will always remember what Preeti did for me and how much of a difference it made at the wedding.
- Cristina (10/5): - Hotel picked us up from airport and checked us in very early in the morning. Good location right beside the lake, which is such a nice spot to escape the madness. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was great before big day trips
- Anand (10/5): Good stay for youthful vibrant groups, glad we stayed in the HK village :) - Breakfast was simple and pleasant - unfortunately the coffee machine was not working during our stay so we couldnt try their coffee. Rooms were great sizes and bathrooms too were great sizes. Felt safe and welcoming - reception and bellhop staff were VERY prompt and helpful. Good selection of teas in the room which was really nice after a long drive into Delhi.
Mt friends booked a larger suite - so glad too as it had lots of space to sit, pack suitcases and move around - great room. My bedroom needed to be aired out - so I had to open front door and the windows as it had a musty smokey smell for ages so opened everything while I was unpacking. But the scent went away after 1 hour of airing out so wasnt a big issue there after tbh.
My friends much larger suite - no issues at all .
- Emma (8/5): - The staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable, and the rooftop is very peaceful and a nice place to watch the sunset!
- Rathore (7/5): -
- Victoria (8/5): Very Good ! - The Deco!
Breakfast!
Preeti is an exceptional hotel host ! The 50% upfront payment through a link. Too stressful ! In the end the hotel agreed for me to pay on arrival.
Also one night there was a party upstairs and people moving furniture at 4 am . Management should look into it. Not the end of the world .
- Harpreet (10/5): A comfortable stay and different experience. - The property had a nice minimalist design and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, and overall the stay felt comfortable and convenient for a short visit. Since it is located in a busy area and narrow streets, It difficult to uber all the way to property and sometime luggage needs to carried but nothing that seriously affected the stay
- Iris (9/5): Big rooms and amazing food - The double room we booked was huge , and with a beautiful rooftop upstairs! They had a great restaurant downstairs with lovely food . Would highly recommend to stay here, also worth it to see the buzzing village and beautiful lake only a minute away. The facilities could need some extra love and maintenance , but everything worked well !
- Laurence (9/5): Je conseille,!
- Monia (5/5): 2 nights in a run down hotel - I liked thd coffee shop, which was a welcoming place and it was clean. Food was nice, so was coffee. The staff was also very pleasant.
The staff at the hotel was very nice, I have to praise Preeti for having been particularly helpful and accommodating. The hotel location isnt great. It is difficult getting a cab...mostly you need to walk to get a cab away from the hotel.
I really didnt like the room. It wasn't that clean and it was very misty. The pillow covers were marked with blackout tint...not that clean.
The room was on thd first floor, close to the road, the noise was annoying and I barely slept.
The bathroom' door wasnt closing and I had to use my luggage to close it.
While the staff is nice, the hotel needs a revamp, a thorough clean and better maintenance.
- Roberts (9/5): Very good stay in fun area of Delhi - The location was in a really fun area, with things to do and see locally. The cafe/restaurant was very good.
- Ridame (5/5): -
- Andrew (7/5): - Cafe on main floor and staff
- MauriceNL (8/5): -
- Helen (7/5): -
- Ajoy (1/5): bad location with shabby out look - location very shabby location and staff
- Sarang (3/5): Great potential wasted by lack of attention and maintenance. - The location is great and central in the Hauz Khas village and deer park. But does not have a proper vehicular access.
The hotel runs a small car shuttle from parking to the property.
The restaurant and coffee shop downstairs is good and was the only better part of the property. Minimalist hotels are known for good environment and clean stays. But this is an exception. The property isn’t well maintained and room had a layer of dust on surfaces. The bathroom sink had stains and the sheets had a slight musty smell. There are no bedside power outlets or switches to control room lighting. On the ground floor, there isn’t a dedicated space for checkin and waiting.
Reaching out to the front desk was a challenge. After multiple calls and emails, I was directed to payment. In general Hospatility is absent everywhere.
- Angela (10/5): - Really good hygiene standards, food, and overall vibe. Location was a bit far from the centre, but that allowed for a nice escape from chaos. Nothing. All good.
- Bååth Leon (10/5): An enjoyable stay that we will cherish when we remember our trip to Delhi! - My friends and I loved our stay at Minimalist One Hauz Khas Village! The staff at the front desk were very helpful and accommodating of all our needs from the start. The front desk was staffed 24/7 and the kitchen 7 AM to 1 AM. Minimalist One Hauz Khas offers a delicious breakfast that was included in the payment for the stay with vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu. For lunch and dinner they hade a variety of options and the staff even prepared a small breakfast “to go” for us to bring along during one of our outings. The communication during our stay was seamless, we got help via phone at the airport and then during our stay as well. They helped us with recommendations for places to visit, information about the local area and offer options for laundry service for a price. We stayed four people in a big room with a double bed and a pair of generous bunks beds with lots of extra space for a small sofa, tables, chairs and a small pantry with a fridge. What perhaps could be improved would be the cleaning service, the bedding could have been newer and the cleaning of the rooms a bit more thorough.
- Justin (8/5): - Location perfect to explore hauz khas, lots of restaurants and bars close by. King suite was very spacious. Bed was comfortable but very squeaky.
Hot water good in the bathroom No complaints

- Sunehna (7/5): Pretty, clean accommodation in good location - Great aesthetic and cleanliness, staff were very friendly, and location was great. Water took a while to heat up, and there was not plant based milk most of the time, which was one of the reasons I wanted to stay.
The lack of window panes meant the street noise was loud.
- katherine (7/5): Great value, good location, keep your expectations low - The location of this hotel is excellent as you can walk through the village and park to get to Green Park metro. The hotel has seen better days though. It’s a bit run down. The staff are very friendly but a bit absent-minded, not always replacing our water, tea or toilet paper. The breakfast is really good and the coffee excellent. The hotel is a bit tired. There is no soap in the shower plus it doesn’t drain well.
- Izora (6/5): Good stay in the Hauz Khas area - The room was really large, albeit an odd shaped room but then I understand this is an old building that was repurposed as a hotel. The bed was comfortable and the staff were polite and helpful. The toilet cover had a piece missing. The floor above me was really noisy with sounds of furniture being moved/dragged all night long for the period of my stay, the building in general is quite echoey and sound really carries.
- Keohane (8/5): - Great location. Very helpful staff. Clean comfortable bed. Restaurant is very good. It met my needs. It's a bit run down. Looks like a place that was quite chic a number of years ago. Doesn't live up to the online photos.

- Jayne (9/5): I totally recommend staying at this wonderful hotel in Delhi, the staff are amazing food great - I couldn’t be more grateful for the welcome I received from the whole team in this leg of my travels- nothing was a problem and the care and assistance I received exceeded my expectations. The room was comfortable bedding and facilities of a high standard. Food was so delicious and lots of options. The location was in a more lively place than I would usually choose but this did not impact my experience of staying here- I was totally able to rest well in the room and really enjoyed my stay and I fully recommend this little oasis of calm in the centre of an interesting village
- Manasee (5/5): average - The staff was helpful, polite and ready to make concessions and make sure I had a pleasant stay. If someone wants a quick stay for a 1-2 days where they are going to be out all day - It would be ok to stay. They are happy to come clean up daily if you request and are always glad to help customers. The location of the hotel (neighbourhood) was very suspect and not safe to travel into for female travellers. Also not mentioned on the booking.com site - no photos of exterior of the building - which then gives incorrect information to anyone booking. The room looked really dull and sub-standard in comparison to the images on booking.com. So misleading again! Taxi was unable to get into the lane of the hotel - as it was too narrow, busy with people and dirty. Bathroom was passably clean - but it stank of sewer from the shower drain and the smell permeated into the room.

- Nora (10/5): We instantly felt at home at this property. Kind, personable and accommodating staff with gorgeous amenities. - We adored staying at this hotel! The rooms and property were beautifully designed, clean and comfortable. The best staff we’ve ever come across at a hotel. Nothing! No notes!

- Tilly (7/5): Amazing location with friendly and assistive staff. Great food and value for money. - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily. The food at Fika was yummy and the location is amazing. The shower was not the hottest
- Martina (10/5): - Nettes Personal (vor allem Preethi) Alles war gut
- Perot (10/5): - Very cosy, feels safe and welcoming maybe the little street where it is located might be sketchy but it's right next to a busy street, quite touristy, nothing happens

- Ricardo (4/5): Disappointed with the hotel and location - The breakfast food is OK. The rooms are spacious First and foremost i wouldn't recommend to stay in this area. It is way too off the beaten track, very little central and very rough, especially in the morning before the shops are open and the streets are full of stray dogs. Hauz Khas is a nice area to visit in the afternoon, do some shopping and maybe have a couple of drinks but I won't be staying there again.
The hotel property is really bad and unclean. The photos online do not represent the actual condition of the building. The rooms have a lot of wear and tear, smell mold, are extremely cold and humid. The AC hot air does not work. There was an electrical oven that helped but was too noisy to have on during the night. The WC was absolutely disgusting and the condition was almost the same as of public bathroom. There was trash and unclean dishes on the common areas for days before the staff thought it was a good idea to clean them. The doors, shades and window frames are basically all falling apart. There isn't a safe and the rooftop is really uncomfortable with views to a massive open air trash pit (including burning trash) and a mini slum.

- Neha (1/5): Horrible - The location We booked two rooms, one for my family and another for a friend we were travelling with, and both rooms didn’t have hot water. When we raised this, the staff had us pack up our stuff and move to another room, only to find out that that room also didn’t have any hot water. We were travelling with our 1 year old son, so all of this was very disruptive, especially as we were only there for 1 night. We raised the hot water concern repeatedly over the course of the stay, but in the end had to take freezing cold showers before heading to the airport at 8am the following day. I wonder if this hotel even has hot water, as the rooms we stayed in on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th floors did not (and there are only 4 floors in the hotel).
Moreover, the rooms were filthy, with toilet roll on the floors etc. When they made us move to another room and said they were upgrading us to a penthouse, it ended up being the lone room on the 4th floor with a store room nearby that staff kept coming and going from at night and making loud banging noises, while we were trying to sleep. Moreover, the roof terrace just outside the supposed penthouse (which was not much nicer or bigger than the King room we had originally been given on the 1st floor) was open to anyone staying at the hotel and full of dirty dishes that were never cleared during our stay.
The staff didn’t seem bothered and were completely unhelpful. It’s a shame as the hotel has potential to be good, but I would warn anyone against staying here.
- Siddharth (8/5): - Nice setup overall. Peaceful. Service can be more prompt and streamlined.
