• Thaarmin (7/5): - It was just as advertised. The room was clean and the check in process was very fast. They even stored my luggage after i checked out of the hotel as i wanted to still sight see before my flight and didnt want to have my luggage with me. There was also a nice patio area on level 2 which was nice for a breather. The wifi was not very strong but still usable.

• Frankel (7/5): Good location but hotel standard should improve. - Location was good. Staff were receptive. Second floor has no elevator. Not conducive for older people. Upgraded my standard room to Deluxe with additional fee. Booked for 9 day stay. On the 8th day, found my room infested with winged termites and it was unbearable to stay even it was for one night. Had termites in my luggage too! Had to change to another room on the ground floor which was a more satisfactory condition. In general the location of this hotel is great but they can ramp up with the cleanliness and check for any insect infestations.

• ewe wei (4/5): Below expectation - Looks nice from outside. Provide water. No elevator but they help bring luggage up. They won’t give you two key cards for the room, very inconvenient for us. Room is or look dirty, total white is a bad idea if u are not going clean or maintain it diligently. Some paint peel off at some spots. Staffs not great.

• Govindaraju (4/5): Not worth the price and not a comfortable and relaxing stay. - I chose this place to stay because it used to be well maintained, but now it is not maintained as well. However, it is very strategically located, with easy access to food and close to the city. The place is not well maintained. The bed is not clean or comfortable. We had to request a floor mat, extra towels, and a blanket. There is no proper infrastructure, and parking is quite difficult. We had to find paid parking, which costs RM30 per day.

• Jacob (3/5): Good location, otherwise underwhelming - Location Room is a lot smaller than what the pictures present, if you use the shower the bathroom becomes unusable as the floor is super wet (maybe something to scrape the water into the drain should be supplied), walls are also paper thin and could hear everything from outside, including bar music which goes on every day.

• Kunnan Antony Jose (6/5): The hotel was located in a prime location for travel to different and nearest places comfortably. - Very excellent and comfortable location for our visits to different sight seeing places including historical places 1. The staircase all the way to the first floor. It was very difficult and painful for climbing the staircase from ground floor and to step down from first floor to the ground floor. 2. A mirror and shelf (small almirah) could have been provided for the comfort and convenience of the guests. 3. The facilities provided the bathroom/toilet could have arranged in a different manner for the convenience of gusts. 4. The water flow in the washbasin was very slow like it takes minutes to get a handful of water for face washing. With the narrow water supply, the shaving, mouth wash etc. was extremely difficult.

• Jun kit (4/5): You get what you paid for - Next to the room there is a convenient store. The value for the room is quite good. The floor have some sand, no slippers. Bathroom have no hooks or someplace to put our dry clothes.

• laurent (9/5): Une ancienne demeure coloniale - Les communs sont un peu dans leur jus mais les chambres bien que petites sont très confortables et plutôt mignonnes. La salle de bain est plutôt originale et ressemblerait plutôt à un aquarium dans lequel on a mis une toilette une douche et un évier les uns à côté des autres mais ça fait le job. Le personnel est absolument adorable et l'emplacement est idéal. de toute façon en Malaisie l'emplacement n'est pas un problème puisqu'on fait des km et des km pour 1€ avec le Uber local (grab) Franchement il n'y a pas grand chose à dire de négatif si ce n'est qu'il ne font pas de petit-déjeuner. je vous conseille d'aller chez GALA juste à côté sur le coin, ils font des petits déjeuners fantastiques et surtout ils sont super sympas

• Dominic (8/5): The location is great for my needs. And friendly staff who were helpfull plus good rates. - We enjoyed staying at a heritage hotel which was a good location and well priced. The front rooms facing road are a bit cramped. But acceptable for a sole person.

• Fazili (9/5): Enjoy my staycation. - Room: Excellent even if it's quite small but just nice for the 2 of us. We are staying at room 103 Location: The location is very strategic, with a lot of food to be enjoyed and just a walk distance only. The only problem is parking, maybe the management could plan something for the hotel guest parking.

• Devinthomas1 (4/5): Filthy - Don't let the photos fool you. This place is filthy. I emailed days before requesting an early check-in with no response. Upon arrival, I paid extra for early check-in, not a problem. There were no towels in the room and poorly cleaned. I would gladly wait for housekeeping to finish. Attempted to take an afternoon nap only to be disturbed by children running and yelling down the hall. Upon leaving for a walk, I noticed they booked to an entire family occupying at least 3 rooms, talking with doors open to their rooms as if it is their home. Upon complaining to the front desk, I was told I could only complain about things inside my room.
• Ruan (4/5): The term 'Boutique' does not apply at all to the Southern 'Boutique' Hotel at all with tiny rooms - The Room had good air con hot water but that was all, everything else was very poor The room which was by the side of road was noisy and the lights were not cut out by the blind and the bathroom had a shower that wet the entire bathroom and toilet seat 😳

• Ti (1/5): Find somewhere else - No soundproofing. I didnt believe the reviews but man i regretted it. Pay a little more and sleep elswhere. Also had a musty moldy smell throughout and the room was tiny. Looked nice from the outside but inside it was bad. Also weirdly, they will only give you one key which sucked because the room power requires the key to power up. Terrible Staff was kind enough to let me check out 15 min late and the graveyard shift let me back into my room since i had to leave the key in the room for the power for my sleeping wife

• Emma (7/5): We had a pleasant and comfortable stay with the southern hotel - The room was modern and clean. The location is really great for walking in to George Town and there are lovely bars, restaurants and food courts right on the doorstep. The bed was a touch short (me and my husband are 5.9ft and 5.11ft and our toes dangled off the end).

Sound insulation is the worst, u can hear loud and clear from the alley way and outside cars or motor were super loud, ready to get woken up at 5am with a crazy loudspeaker muslim prayer. And also the towels were dirty and old
