It’s a great place to break up a hectic China trip and just chill. The staff service was also great and overall value good. The only issue is some noise from the road. This can’t really be helped as it’s on a corner where lorries beep there horns.

- Jonathan (10/5): Best hotel in YangShuo. Out of this world - Wow! This place is out of this world. Unreal experience in a wonderland. Service was outstanding, really went above and beyond. Location and setting is outrageous. Best hotel in YangShuo hands down, blows away banyan tree, which although is nice, is clearly 2nd place to Alila. The pool is incredible, as is each building on the property. Rooms are fantastic, reminiscent of Upper House in Hong Kong (#1 hotel in Hong Kong). One constructive criticism: the gym is great but could use a slight augmentation with more equipment. But I don't have a single bad thing to say about this place and I normally love to complain.
- L (6/5): - Gorgeous property! So many beautiful spots for photos, great tour packages, somewhat decent food. Spa was ridiculously overpriced for mediocre service in an amazing setting. The twin share room didn't have a bathtub, unlike the rooms with king beds, and our room was ridden with cockroaches and bugs - I killed a few and got bitten by the rest in my sleep by the ones that escaped. There was also trouble when we tried to check out because the hotel attempted to charge us for no show - ironic isn't it? I believe this was due to a glitch - this wasn't flagged during check in despite the team collecting all our passports. Nothing was done to rid the room of bugs, and we were delayed so much at check out (approx an hour) that we had to run for our flight!

My room is very clean and spacious. 2 minor gripes: 1) Hotel is located a short drive away from the town center, so slightly inconvenient but nothing a taxi ride or DiDi can't solve. 2) Fairly limited dinner menu at the inhouse restaurant.

- ke (10/5): One of the best hotel experiences I've had - The hotel architecture/design is absolutely stunning. Every inch of the hotel's surface has so much detail that you can spend days exploring the place. Contrary to what some of the previous comments said, the hotel offers amazing service to all of the guests. Perks include daily activities (rock climbing, cooking class, Easter holiday special petting zoo for the kids, free ice cream, local tofu snack, etc.). Most hotel staff speak basic English so communication was easy. Only downside is the hotel's location, which is a little further away from town. But you get into town via taxi/Didi easily for 20 RMB.

- Chao (10/5): 非常愉快的假期 - 在这里度过了非常愉快的三天，酒店非常有设计感，原先是一个老糖厂，经过设计师的鬼斧神工，现在这里处处都是风景，拍照都能拍一天。酒店的服务也不错，工作人员都会友好的和你微笑打招呼。唯一的一点就是酒店的食物不是很合胃口，我们第一天的晚餐是在酒店的餐厅吃的。酒店的菜是属于当地菜和西餐融合的菜式。我觉得要不就纯正的西餐要不就完全的当地菜，这样融合的创意菜真的很奇怪，而且味道也不怎么样。除了菜式其他方面真的都非常完美。

- Mark (8/5): Amazing hotel design and setting - The design and natural setting of this hotel is special and should not be missed if you are visiting this part of the world. The only downside is that the hotel is by a busy road and you will hear the sounds of truck horns 24/7.

- Katrina (8/5): Great for families - The hotel is fairly new so there are a few kinks to work out, but overall we had a great experience. When we first checked into our first room there were mosquitoes everywhere. We understood that it's high season for mosquitoes but we killed over 30 and they kept coming. There were marks all over the ceiling and walls and floor that hadn't been removed from previous mosquito kills. I suspect there was a nest in one of the vents. When we called to change rooms they were very accommodating and didn't hesitate to switch us out. After that it was smooth sailing and a really wonderful stay. The hotel is great for children, it has a fantastic playroom and an amazing pool. Just walking the grounds is a fun activity with breathtaking views. The spa is incredible. Not only is it beautiful, but the therapists are excellent. This is something Alila does consistently well as we have stayed at other Alila locations and have always had incredible experiences. The design of the hotel is also outstanding. It's a converted sugar cane factory and they did a great job of keeping its bones and creating a cohesive design throughout with the newer structures. Overall, a really great stay, just don't stay in room 113!
