Guest Reviews
- Hung Liang (8/5): -
- Qing Chang (8/5): - pros:
right in the middle of the main street of lake toya, very convenient.
all day free sake tasting.
pretty good breakfast.
nice indoor and outdoor onsen.
free parking.
pet friendly - saw alot of cute doggies.
children play room available.
overall very specious room.
con:
it’s summer and aircon was centralized and not working well. informed the staff and they told me to open the window and take a fan from them FOC. but i will still prefer my air conditional to work.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Check-in was a little odd using a machine, but there was an employee who helped us. The nearby lake was beautiful, although we didn't have the clearest view from our room. The free sake was fun in the lobby. Breakfast was also tasty. The Japanese-style mattress (futon) could have used a bit more padding.
- Kelsey (10/5): Amazing - Incredible staff and service. The breakfast was great. Free desserts and sake at night.
- Yee Shan (2/5): -
- Ryan (10/5): - A really pleasant hotel close to lake Toya. The traditional Japanese room was excellent to experience and the onsen with its both indoor and outdoor baths were phenomenal. There were other amenities such as free bike rentals to take advantage of. The breakfast buffet offered here was superb and there were a few options for restaurants in the area to walk to in the evenings.
- Eun sung (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - A little dated but as far as traditional it had excellent food and baths.
- Sung (6/5): - The property is old and does not looks as nice as the picture on the reservation site shows. Definitely it needs renovation.\
The dinner kaiseki was below expectation for the money.
It seems to allow pets. A guest couple brought a dog and let bark all morning when I retied to relax and enjoy the morning bath.
- Ben (10/5): Wonderful welcome - The welcome service (from 3 pm every day) was amazing. The Kaiseki dinner package was also fantastic - highly recommended.
Staff kindly assisted in reserving me a place on a bus connection when leaving.
Hot springs a little tired, and sauna in a separate section.
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Shumin (8/5): - Nice traditional japan style
- Yuet-Yi Lucia (6/5): Disappointed - So noisy, and not comfortable at all, the building may be old, so dark
- Yin Hung (10/5): -
- A (8/5): Excellent meals and staff - Very helpful staff and fantastic dinner and breakfast, with a great selection of amenities. The building itself could use a little smartening up in places, but for a hotel that allows pets this may be expected
- Yuk Yi Laura (10/5): - The pillows are a bit hard
- Po Sze Mabel (8/5): -
- Shihui Audrey (8/5): - Breakfast is good and hotel is within walking distance to Lake Toya. Twin room is big and comfortable.
- Hon Lung (8/5): - Relax and Comfortable
- Nga Wan (6/5): -
- Aileen (10/5): - It is well organized traditional Japanese style hotel such as delicious breakfasts, natural Onsen(hot bath facility), many sakes, snacks and even hot bath robes. The staffs are extremely kind and well mannered. I stayed 2 nights. The hotel is not updated but maintains traditional Japanese style. When anyone wants to experience traditional Japanese culture in Hokkaido, this is the best hotel I recommend. I would like to go back.
- Wong Wai (10/5): -
- Ayako (8/5): - Staffs are so friendly and kind. Unfortunately, the hotel needs renovation. 1, From check in counter, at second floor, to elevator floor has stairs and they do not have lamp ,so it was so hard to carry up our all luggage by our selves. 2, AC did not work well, so I asked a fan to put in our room. 3, Stairs to all floor is dirty and smells not good. They have very nice hot spring, free welcome drink, free Yukata rental, easy to see fire worlks from own room and so on. so I hope they improve thir facilities a little by little. 15minutes by taxi from Toyako JR station. You need to call the taxi if you want to ride. Pubrick bus only runs a few every hours.
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- LO (10/5): Much better than I expected, nice room and lobby - Much better than I expected, the room is looking good and spacious. The dinner it is not better. But if you wanted there are a few restaurants near the hotel. The shampoo and body soap are heavily diluted, it takes over 10 taps to wash my hair.
- Walter (10/5): - This a beautifully designed hotel. Great ambiance.
The staff are extremely courteous and efficient.
Great find.
- Verified traveler (10/5):
- Maxine (10/5): - Japanese style room. Good location, short walk to restaurants and good view of the daily fireworks.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Look forward for renovation
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Like: It was a Ryokan!!!
Dislike: Not sure if because of the season, but most nearby restaurants were not open. 7-11 became our best friend. 😅
- Joe (4/5): - Wifi sucks though asked the staff to fix; very disappointing
- Sarah (6/5): - Triple room had two twin beds and a single futon on floor. Bathroom was Japanese shower with seat and mirror. Should specify on reservation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful stay - This is an older hotel no question. Our room was clean and roomy for Japan (two adults and a 6 foot teen for well). Ladies Onsen was lovely. The lounge downstairs looks on a beautiful garden and was a great place to relax. Central location, staff helped us find laundromat across street. Only complaint- musty smell in room, slight smoke odor in elevators
- Daniel (10/5): - Dinner and breakfast were included and delicious. Short walk to fireworks at the lake. One staff member seemed inept to me. He told me the only luggage transfer form they had was the pay on arrival, rather than the prepay that I did everywhere else. The hotel that received my bag didn't like paying the bill before I got there, but thankfully they did. All the other staff were helpful and bright.
- Man (4/5): - The place is a bit old
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We enjoyed the onsen, breakfast and dinner in this hotel very much!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Quite and calm we get from here. Staffs are very hard working which impressed us.
- Ching (6/5): Unluckily - I am sad to tell that I was bitten by those blood sucking insets. We found at least 5 in our beddings which made me scared and it was terrible.
I m not sure it's because of raining or what, but isn't it a responsibity to kill insets ?
Anyway, beside this, the hot spring and the dinner / breakfast is great.
