The staff were genuinely kind and responsive the whole time, always quick to help with anything we needed and very warm to talk to. It really made the stay feel relaxed and personal. The resort itself is beautiful, tucked away in a quiet bay with amazing views over the water. We loved spending time around the pool and just taking in the scenery. The food and drinks were great too, and the cocktails definitely do the job if you are in the mood for one. It felt peaceful and welcoming, and the team made us feel really well looked after. Nothing, everything was awesome.

The restaurant and the bar near the pool had a cosy and relaxing vibe and provided a very good selection of Asian and european food as well as delicious cocktails. The diving services were excelent. Most of all we appreciated Richard and his team for being so supportive and friendly and for making us feel at home. Last but not least wanted to mention Jeff and his dogs and cats, as well as Mary Ann who were lovely! Can’t think of anything. All was perfect

Easy aircon control, lights etc. good shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. Like a lot of the Philippines night sleep interrupted by barking dogs. The site is about 2k from Sabang town so a bike or trike needed to get there.as walking is a bit hazardous and very up and down with the hills. Edgewater is not so much a solo traveller's place though okay - more a couples, families site.

Ich habe mich gesehen und gut umsorgt gefühlt. Es wurde sogar ein Schreibtisch bereitgestellt, da ich zum Schreiben dort war. Die Katzen, die Atmosphäre und der Sonnenuntergang an meinem letzten Abend waren echte Highlights. Starker Geruch in beiden Zimmern, vermutlich durch Feuchtigkeit. Das Spa war kein echtes Angebot, sondern externe Dienstleister zum doppelten Preis. Baustelle direkt neben dem Pool. Housekeeping nur auf Anfrage, Reinigung eher oberflächlich. Restaurantpreise überdurchschnittlich für Qualität & Setting.

The dive masters are amazing, very professional yet very funny. The showed us some amazing dive spots and we saw turtles, sharks and much more.
• Lynn (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed four nights at Edgewater. We enjoyed it a lot, it's a small hotel on a very beautiful bay. First, the rooms are nice and clean, with a very comfy bed and a nice shower. Then, you can go diving on different times of the day, for example at 9 or 10 or also in the afternoon. They are very flexible and the dive masters are very nice, christian the boat driver is the best, very funny guys. The dive sites are very close by. The best thing of the hotel is the owner and his staff. They treat you like friends. We liked everything and would recommend to anyone who wants to visit sabang. Thanks for everything

Everyone was incredibly kind, and it was a pleasure being a guest there. It felt like a family. The snorkeling and island hopping team were wonderful, and staff members like Mary Ann and Nicole, who were always there to support us, were so kind and helpful. We're truly grateful for how easy they made everything! The morning staff were also amazing, and we loved spending our evenings at the beach bar, chatting with Yumi and Jeff. We can't wait to go back again!

• Ben (7/5): Really incredible staff, food and location. - The staff were really exceptional, Jeff, Nikka and Yumi and the rest of the staff really took time to get to know all the guests and provided arguably the best and friendliest service I've ever experienced. The location is beautiful, the food is good with very large portions. Two very sweet cats, I was told one was blind and the other stuck by their side <3 I had a garden and sea view room, which was great with the exception that the whole bar/outside seating area could see directly in unless the blinds where closed, making an awkward decision between any privacy at all or the views. On arrival there was a group at the bar, with one especially (I believe Canadian) being especially drunk, loud and obnoxious. I attempted to take a nap but could still hear him shouting from my room. It didn't seem like they treated the staff particularly well and very much ruined the serenity of what was supposed to be a quiet and relaxing few nights away for my birthday. I honestly wanted to leave after 30 minutes of arriving due to this, although fortunately this didn't reoccur during my stay. A very unfortunate welcome to an otherwise lovely stay.
• Richard (10/5): Worth every penny, and then some - Edgewater's location was perfect for me, i loved that it was easy to go into town (under 5 minutes, about £2) yet it was private, quiet and peaceful. The staff clearly love working here. From the moment I booked their were available on WhatsApp to help me plan my trip and when I arrived I already felt like I knew them! They anticipated everything I wanted before I even knew I wanted it, everything's on a first name basis, and I consider them all friends after my 5 days here. Food is very good, and there's enough choice here that you don't have to eat anywhere else if you so choose. The diving course was great, and the community of divers staying here were super encouraging and helpful. The coral and marine life around here is beautiful. Bedrooms are clean, comfortable, spacious, well air-conditioned and if I'm not mistaken they all have balconies. I've loved my trip and it's reminded me exactly why it's always better to stay in a boutique hotel than a big chain 👌 the owners should be proud of what they've made here If we're splitting hairs I guess the shower pressure wasn't perfect, but it genuinely didn't bother me at all.

The swimming pool was lovely and the view from the terrace/restaurant/bar was beautiful. Once there, we found out that they rescue and provide care for stray cats and dogs, which is amazing. Petting the animals was also a much appreciated perk. The room was not only pretty, but the most quiet and comfiest we had in the Philippines. I now wish we had stayed there longer.

The payment via bank transfer, of which I was unaware before I booked. But they have a European bank account, so it wasn't really a problem. At the resort we could pay with a credit card though.

• Jason (5/5): For six days you could stay in Hong Kong cheaper than this place... - Great view while having breakfast in restaurant, Diving staff very good and helpful. Quite Expensive for what it is, if you've cash to throw away by all means stay there. Food expensive for what it is, and takes at least an hour maybe longer before you receive it (even with a few people in the restaurant) Didn't like the divider wall in pool not convenient at all, badly designed.
• Mihail (10/5): Exceptional - The service provided by the staff was excellent from the beginning to the end. Clear, fast-responsive no matter the time even after midnight for any kind of questions, very welcoming, and good vibe.
• Felix (10/5): Awesome time at Edgewater! - Edgewater is run by Richard and his wonderful wife Viktorija. Both are super approachable, kind and nice people. You can see they want this place to make you feel homey, cozy and relaxing by constantly improving their premises and thinking out of the box. The level of service is impeccable and absolutely no standard in the Philippines. I was treated like a prince. Not only the staff is very nice. They also are there for you 24/7. Whenever I needed something (taxi, ferry, food, drinks etc…) I texted them on WhatsApp and won’t even have to wait a minute for their response and direct actions. Goes without saying - I’ll be back 100%!

• Anna (10/5): It was nice to have this resort to return to after a day out with family. - This resort is an oasis far superior to other lodgings I saw in the area. I was able to stay on the ground floor, which was necessary for me due to a back injury. Richard and his staff were very responsive and welcoming. I have no complaints about my stay.
• Robert (10/5): Best staff ever! - The location, the view and the restaurant is great. The rooms are clean and the AC is good. Breakfast is tasty. But the most important thing is that despite the bad weather we had, they helped us a lot, without the great staff, we would have stuck on the island because it wasn’t easy to find out which ferries were cancelled and which ones are not. They were informing us about all the details, and when the weather became better, they arranged us activities. Richard, the owner is awesome, he put a great team together. You feel like you are their most important guest, even when they are fully booked. This is not just a hotel, this is a resort when they are really there for you. Thank you everyone!! • Steven (10/5): Great retreat with a top class dive instructor - Perfect location slightly away from the busy area of Sabang, calming and relaxing The staff and the owner and his family were welcoming, helpful and a gave a real personal experience that some resorts could learn a lot from Paul the dive instructor was exceptional, and made a novice diver feel relaxed and confident, Great place to stay Nothing really, for me it was spot on You need to be aware that it hasn’t got a beach nearby, and it is a quieter resort, but it’s set in a beautiful mangrove bay which for me was better
• Lotta (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was good, the view was fabulous, staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The pool was small but so lovely to relax and lounge around in. The dive center on-site was super. The DM was lovely and patient, took me to a couple of really awesome sites for dives not too far away from the property. We had the last room that was available and the bathroom was tiny, and also kept flooding all over. The shower-curtain was pretty but did nothing to really stop water flowing between the shower and the rest of the sink and WC area. It doesn't have a window either, so we had wet and squishy floor mats all thru the stay unfortunately.

• Karithefinn (10/5): Excellent resort with good location - Beautiful nice resort with good swimming pool area and bar. Room was big and cozy, ac was good, bed was big and bathtoom was good. There is fridge and coffee making facility in the room. There is patio where you can sit and relax and admire the beautiful garden. Location is by the beach which means that the views are excellent. It is easy to reach both main village and Sabang either by the jeepney or motorbike taxi..around 5-8 minutes to both of them. It is located in the end of side street which means that there is no road noise. Breakfast was excellent and healthy. - there was background music in the bar (pool) - I would rather have listened to birds, waves and wind.

• Lewis (8/5): - The property was just okay but it was comfortable and sufficient. The area is very private. The staff were very kind and helpful. The food was excellent, 5 star for every dish. Myself and 3 children really enjoyed staying there for 5 nights.
• Jenny (8/5): Alas! A proper "Retreat" in waiting... - Property is located in a quiet and peaceful part of Puerto Galera and is accessible from both main road and resort's own speedboat. We stayed in the Loft suite facing a small lawn garden. Room was split level with the bed upstairs and a large sized toilet/shower and living area downstairs. Basic toiletries but good cable channels are available for both TVs in room. Breakfast was included A-la-Carte off a good selection menu. We enjoyed the breakfast very much overlooking a tranquil scenery, as the food was both scrumptious and generously portioned. Resort owner Richard was welcoming and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Only gripe was the terrible sound insulation in the room as we were woken up half the night by the sewage treatment facility, located below our room window, when the flushing noises started at 3am; and the few roosters not knowing the time of day at 4am as well. Unfortunately, it was not a good night rest for us, which was a real pity as the resort is generally peaceful and serene at times! Though Richard has promised to resolve the situation after our prompt feedback but for us it's too late!
