SOLANGE (8/5): - The hotel's location in relation to activities was excellent. The staff was very friendly. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, and everything was very good. Having a swimming pool was a real plus after an excursion in the heat, although it could get quite crowded on some days.

We loved the pool and the grounds were well kept and lovely. It was a quiet stay with a simple family feel. We had a triple room and it was large and we felt safe here. Though there isn't much for wandering around or stores close by, so a car or a cab or something similar is needed. We were picked up here for our ATM Cave tour. You MUST do this!! Book through the hotel. It's amazing!! You are situated more in neighborhoods rather than the downtown. We liked the quiet, but if you are looking for the more touristy areas, then you need a cab. Worth it though!
Kalyn (6/5): I would not stay here again. - We liked the price. You get what you pay for. The rooms were very large. It was clean. There was a pond with turtles. Good WiFi. They advertise a restaurant, there is no restaurant. Also, the pool was gross, we asked for it to be cleaned, they added a jug of pool cleaner and it turned my daughter’s hair green. It’s right by a really busy street, the rooms are not sound proof, it was very noisy all night. There’s a large pond that is a mosquito breeding ground. We had to ask for extra pillows because they were so flat and uncomfortable.

The room lacked proper maintenance and cleanliness, and although we raised concerns, the issues were not adequately resolved by the owner. The property has potential, but greater attention to upkeep and guest experience is needed.

Emily (6/5): Very basic accomodations - Everything about this place is ok, but it's very basic. The staff did not communicate well. I got mixed messages about meals and amenities. The Internet went out while we were there, and no one seemed to know what to do about it. The room only had 2 working outlets, so for a family of 4 trying to charge our devices, it was complicated.

Rick (8/5): - Great facility - I must say, however, one member of the cleaning staff is quite rude if you are showering when she wants to clean and go home and one member of "security" (the new guy), does not have a sniff about his job responsability. Nor does he care. He locks the access door through the lobby, making you walk around to the exit gate - which he leaves unlocked - so that he does not have to lift his head from his phone. First hand experiencing both signs of neglect of responsabilities.

Joshua (10/5): This place stole my heart! - I absolutely loved my stay at the Drift Inn in Cayo. Bike rental was cheap and convenient, though I wish they had bike locks. Air conditioning was so nice to have. Great atmosphere, live music and karaoke on weekends, staff were all very social and welcoming. Made me feel right at home. Their restaurant also had some of the best food I’ve had in all of Belize. If you like Belizean culture, sometimes they have the Garifuna Collective play a concert, sadly I missed it! I would recommend this place for solo travelers, couples, or groups.

Deborah (2/5): Have better access and protocols for such situations instead of the clients losing out all together. - breakfast was OK. I did not like the fact I fell and lost my phone and cash in the process. No indication what so ever of the massive trench dug in the parking lot. I fell and twisted my ankle and lost my phone and money clip that was on the back of it. My bank card was with it too. Because the fall was so traumatic as we were leaving to have dinner in town, I was helped up and got in the car feeling embarrassed and in much pain. An employee came out and told me to go to the hospital and I told her im not going to a hospital here for a sprained ankle and we left as I was in agony. It was only whebn we got to the restaurant I noticed my phone was missing, we thought it may be in the car or back at the hotel. But when we got back the hotel showed me that they have cameras but no access to the camera in front where the cars are parked because the owners are out of town and no one had access. So I was never able to see who took my phone and cash because of this reason. I knew the thieves were still in the hotel as I could feel it. As I was sitting with my friends they were hacking my phone and stealing my money and Identification.. not a pleasant experience to say the least. The staff should have been able to access the cameras so we could have caught the thieves as they were still on the property. Very disappointing to say the least better access and find the persons who stole from me and decided not to hand it in when found, the money I get it but my phone and personal information just shows me no intention of ever returning it what so ever. Horrible to think they can get away with such crimes is disgusting. imo.

I honestly consider it a home away from home! - Very pleasant and cheerful staff are always ready to assist with anything you may need. They are a great source of info about the area, and they are also able to arrange tours/transportation for you!Comfortable, clean and safe family friendly accommodations! Fresh delicious treats and variety of food homemade on site! Beautiful well kept fish/turtle pond as well as a nice pool for swimming! Anything else you could want is available nearby, which makes for a truly comfortable stay!

Natalie (6/5): - While the staff was very welcoming and happy to oblige, the building itself could use some love. The on-site restaurant had a very limited selection, despite the menu. Many items were unavailable. The toilet in our room and by the pool would plug or simply struggle to fully flush most times. What bothered us most was the noise. We had a room on the back side of the property and it was VERY loud of traffic at all hours. The dogs, while cute and friendly, would bark late at night or very early in the morning. All of this seriously impacted our ability to have a good night’s sleep. The price was very budget-friendly, but we were willing to pay a little more for a better rest so we decided to check out a day early.

James (6/5): - Drift Inn is delightful, nothing spectacular about it, but the front desk staff were awesome! They arranged all our tours, called a taxi whenever we needed, informed us of kitchen closures, and gave us fresh towels after 4 days of not seeing the cleaning staff. They did a great job! Bikes are available for rent, but these bikes are single speed, not comfortable, not easily adjusted, and poorly suited for the hills in San Ignacio. We tried them one dsy and just walked or took a taxi if it was evening. The room was vlean when we moved in, and we were fine with not having the rooms cleaned daily, but you may prefer to ask for daily cleaning. Apparently it's available. The food on site was really good, but we found so many truly special restaurants in San Ignacio nearby that it was hard to pass them by!

Verified traveler (10/5): Great for the few days we had in San Ignacio. - For the budget, this place was excellent. The rooms were clean, showers were hot and powerful, the grounds were pretty and included both a pool and a pond with pretty trees. The Drift Inn isn’t the Four Seasons but it is a good place to spend a few days. HINT: get a pina colada at the pool bar - they’re delicious.

amber (2/5): - I booked myself a single king room. Upon arrival i found they had given my room to someone else and put me in a room with bunkbeds and a broken tv. I needed the basics like toothpaste and shampoowhich they offered non of. Not even to buy in their store. Literally used a bar of soap the whole time which was no biggie as i dont like to complain. The resturant isnt marked. I had no clue where to order or even stand or if there was waitresses... like nothing was posted anywhere. I asked the receptionist and she was annoyed from the begining. I ended up ordering food thru her ...she never told me to sit in the lobby which was actually the restaurant and someone will come get my order. I ordered food the entire first day this way. The first morning after ordering my food i chose a spot by the pond which was pretty. They had turtles in it and fish. The railing was broken/owner came out yelling repairs across the resturant to maintenance/After the long wait for my food I ate a few bites, went to get more coffee & turned to find a cat on my table eating my food/Next morning i wanted to change my order from one ToGo to 2 orders ToGo, i couldnt find my waitress/The owner was right there so i asked her/She went and changed the order and humiliated my waitress/Then belittled her to me/ that night i ordered a burger and waited over 45/After I left i was contacted about sunglasses i left in room/they said they would hold them until my friend cohld get them.
Christine (10/5): - We had a wonderful time at the Drift Inn. We had booked it for 2 nights, and decided to stay a 3rd night. One night they had a local drum band preforming, which was amazing! What I did not like was witnessing, a firing of an employee in front of people!!! Very disturbing and disrespectful!
Helene (7/5): Good - Nice little unit with fun games and good vibes – especially if the weather is nice. The location was not ideal. Quite loud music starting at 10am. We found the staff a bit unfriendly. You can’t cook your own food (the stove gave electric shocks).
Deonne (4/5): Has gone downhill - I like that the property allows dogs. I used to love this property but the last two stays have been quite disappointing. Loud music going until 11pm (past posted quiet hours), overcrowded pool during the day with raunchy music not good for kids, water from the shower so full of bleach that it triggered an asthma attack and severe eye irritation, rooms with various parts not working (outlets, toilets that make loud noises constantly, etc). Unfortunately the guests we’ve brought the last two times have been unhappy also.

Mark (10/5): A lovely little reprieve. - We stayed here for a week while exploring the local area. The room was good and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant served excellent food and there was entertainment several times during the week.

Angela (6/5): - This place is not ideal if you don’t have your own transportation. The restaurant is closed Monday/Tuesday and options in the area are limited and those are the days we were there. The pond and pool are nice. The bed was comfy.
Conner (10/5): Good stay - The place was a lot nicer than we were expecting! We did not use the pool but we did order breakfast one morning. Everything was clean and nice. The rooms are very spacious. The staff was nice and helpful
David M (8/5): - Great location, easy drive to town. Staff very attentive. Enjoyed the pool and the kids loved the little game room in the reception area. Matresses were a little too firm and there was no shampoo or conditioner in supplied in the bathroom.

Matas (8/5): Reception makes you wait - Swimming pool, chill zone, good internet Very loud AC, expensive food in the restaurant. The receptionist made me wait until the last minute of check-in start time. I was waiting for 3 hours while the dormitory was empty!
Lisa (10/5): Paradise for the night! - We had a fantastic one night stay here! Service was so friendly, the room was spacious and clean. We absolutely loved the vibe here. We had dinner and breakfast and both were delicious.

Erika (8/5): Nice stay - Great facilities—loved the pool and trampoline for the kids. Nice location in an interesting part of town. Not in Saint Ignacio, but it’s only a 30 min walk (5 min cab) to the touristy part. There are a few restaurants around if you don’t feel like going in. The hotel also has a good restaurant + bar. All good.

Garrick (8/5): Great getaway. - Great getaway, secure and relaxing. Pool was the hero, and so was the restaurant. The shared facilities could do with some work. How the owners spoke to their local staff (in public).
Jacqueline (6/5): - The beds were large and comfortable and the pool was awesome for my kids after the long excursions. However, I am glad we only stayed 2 days because the toilet in our bathroom did not flush and, despite telling the front desk about it (and them telling us someone would fix it), no one ever addressed the issue—we left with the same clump of toilet paper sitting in the toilet that was there from the first day we arrived. Luckily, there is a washroom off the pool area and in the lobby; however, if you know your toilets are on the fritz, maybe don’t book guests until it is fixed. Also of note, some of the other guests were very loud and inconsiderate, which I do not blame on the facility; however, if the walls and doors had better insulation, maybe the noise would’ve been at least somewhat reduced. Overall, I would not stay here again because the only thing that blew us away was the pool.

eLisa (4/5): - My stay here was very disappointing, room was dirty barley cleaned, there is something about the shower/drain/Toilet that gives off the most foul smell when in use, and the 5 inch gap on the restroom door doesn't help makes the whole room smell. The air conditioner was not the best the not sure why they would install an air condition with the type of windows they have lets all the cold air out, on top of that i couldn't even change the temp to coldest because the vile was broken. The room door had gaps from the top and bottom causing mosquitos to be in the room during my entire stay. i stuffed plastic bags in the gaps to keep the mosquitos out. The staff was friendly but not very helpful with anything, i asked for towels since only 4 (2 big, 2 small) are in the room they were terribly stained, when i asked for more there will be a charge of $15 which is absolutely ridiculous for a hotel to do. never in my life have i ever paid to use hotel towels. The kicker is they didn't even have towels to give me and the best excuse was them blaming guests taking towels to the other location. Wouldn't get food or drinks from here to overpriced for simple food, Bar is limited n overpriced also the music they played was sad 2000 Adele n Bruno songs. Alot has changed,10yrs ago this place was popping with business and better menu, Beautiful Property, Not for people looking for a party vibe resort.
Deonne (9/5): Solid accommodation, recommended for your stay in Cayo District - One of the best properties we’ve stayed at in belize! Clean, comfortable, and everything works well! Kids have a pool, lake, and games like foosball and air hockey to play. Close to Saritas ice cream and San Ignacio, as well as ATM cave. Staff is a bit lackadaisical, which is probably fine for belizean culture, but would be helpful to have more service.

I was told that I could not get it back because Expedia took their share and they had no way of getting that back

Filiph (10/5): Exceptional - The manager of this place was so so sweet and helpful throughout our entire stay! She helped organizing our trip to the atm cave and made sure we had all information. Their restaurant was closed due to some religious holiday but she made sure we were well fed by making us delicious sandwiches. Clean rooms and nice pool area. Wish I could have stayed a few more days.

If you want to see The nightlife of San Ignacio it's a bit out of the way. They did have a driver who is happy to shuttle you back and forth though. Overall, I would definitely stay here again
Lori (10/5): - Drift Inn Cayo is actually on the outskirts of San Ignacio, in Santa Elena. I was able to walk into downtown San Ignacio in about 35-40 minutes, or you can easily take a cab. Everyone knows the Aguada, so you can’t get lost. The hotel is pretty mobility friendly, the staff are wonderful, and the Aguada restaurant is good. You can walk about 10 minutes to George Price Highway to get to some other, equally delicious but slightly cheaper restaurants, or to a few grocery marts. Depending on where your room is, you might find it a bit loud from the road traffic. The bed was comfortable, and sheets and towels are very clean
Balbinder (10/5): Friends group - We very much enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back . After a long day out and about it was nice to have the restaurant and bar to relax and enjoy a drink and a meal at the end of the day. The only thing I would change is to have the plastic mattress cover replaced with a more breathable cover.

Alex (10/5): - This was an amazing price for my own private room and bathroom. The pool is beautiful. I didn't get in the lake, but that was beautiful too. The lakeside dining area is spacious and beautifully decorated. I had dinner, breakfast, and drinks at the bar. It was all very convenient. Highly recommended. Very friendly staff. It was chill and peaceful. I only wish I had had a fridge in my room, I probably could have asked for one, but forgot.
Brian (8/5): - Rooms are basic. Matresses need upgrading. Has a great pool and trampoline for kids. Staff is awesome and friendly. Food is good. Try the wings!. Bar is same price as in town so no overcharging. Good place for moderate priced stay especially for a family. Lots to explore in the immediate area.
Isaac (10/5): Capricorn are literally the G.O.A.T. greatest of all time.. Birthday 2024 - I loved absolutely everything about my stay at Drift Inn Cayo. Best staff, comfortable beds, perfect water pressure. Truly a home away from home experience. Highly recommended.

Loved the sitting area with comfy sofas and chairs. Pillows could have been better. But we could always have brought our own as well.

But the highway makes so much noise I will not recommend it to anyone like me who has trouble to sleep in a noisy environment. The food was average and pricey. But there is an outside kitchen that you can use. The staff was very nice. Still a great budget option.
