Guest Reviews
- David (5/5): - Average place to stay , accomodation basic but clean , food poor but the beer and cider makes up for it
- Sally (8/5): Lovely warm welcome when I arrived. Room was clean and nicely styled, bed was comfortable. Delicious breakfast. -
- Robert (10/5): - The staff , the rooms, location and food was excellent, we will stop again when in the area again
- Michael (8/5): Good place to stop for the night. - Simple clean rooms and friendly country pub. Beds are too soft
- Dean (8/5): -
- Edward (7/5): It was ok. - Ambiance. Cleanliness. No breakfasts.
- Lisa (10/5): We were only there for one night but had a great stay and would definitely go back. - The room was very spacious. The breakfast was great and excellent value.
- Ellis (9/5): All very good apart from no wifi. Poor phone service in the area (which is no fault of the hotel)! -
- Antony (10/5): What a little gem on the edge of Langport fantastic - The breakfast was fantastic. The service was brilliant and very personalised with the chefs coming to speak to you. I’m bringing your tea coffee and serving the most amazing food. Nothing
- Peter (8/5): Comfy room and very good breakfast. - Excellent breakfast. We both had the full English and thought it one of the best we’d had. Thick cut bacon, not too salty and very good sausage. Room was comfy and the bar served well kept beer. The stairs to the first floor bedroom were a bit of a challenge to our aged legs. On the plus side they were well lit, non slip and had a secure handrail.
- Caroline (7/5): - All staff were attentive, polite and amiable 30 degrees outside and the bathroom heater had been left on = stifling temp in room, only saved by the welcomed fan available in the room
We could not open a window as we were directly above the outdoor bar seating area, full of smokers and folks having a lovely evening
- Tony (8/5): Overall, a good stay, with a comfortable bed and good shower - A lovely room, and convenient for us, with plenty of parking. Note that there is no food service on a Sunday evening, and no breakfast on Monday morning. Not a problem as the Firehouse do both of these. There was no kettle in the room, but one was provided when asked. Overall, a good stay, with a comfortable bed and good shower. - Melissa (10/5): A great place to stay - This is the second time we’ve stayed here. It’s a convenient stop when visiting family. The rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly.
- Laura (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): A little gem. - Cosy clean and comfortable. Quiet and relaxing Likes everything
- Victoria (4/5): Not Great, Wouldn't Return. - Breakfast was tasty. Booking.com/system issues when updated card details prompted by the system caused issues with our booking. Including the cost and charge being incorrect.
Didn't have bedding for our 3rd guest. Requested this from a member of staff. They didn't do anything about it. Luckily staff laundry room was unlocked so sorted ourselves out.
Flagged this with the hotel for them to rectify in some way. Apology received but the only compensation was the £15 "underpayment" that we had tried to pay on the date and the staff member wouldn't let us.
- Paul (10/5): The staff were exceptionally helpful, lovely breakfast in the morning couldn’t ask for more - Very clean, exceptionally helpful staff Nothing
- Zbrozek (8/5): -
- Lynda (10/5): A real little gem of a place. - The warmth of the staff and regular clients. Very little.
- Victor (8/5): Mixed Feelings - Comfortable room and good shower Outrageous steep staircase to room. Prices for food and drink way above one would expect in a country pub. Local cider £5 a pint. Oh come off it.
- rachael (8/5): -
- Mary (9/5): Very value for money - Staff very friendly and effivient No grab rail in shower especially when you are elderly
- David (8/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): - Excellent place to stay, extremely helpful and polite staff, room was spacious and clean. We highly recommend the Drayton crown. We will definitely come back to the Drayton crown in the future Nothing
- Pierre (10/5): -
- Jeff (7/5): -
- Nigel (9/5): Nice pit stop on our way to Devon - Nice location and hotel is seemingly new comfortable room and spacious. Staff very professional and good at the pub for dinner & breakfast was good
- Helen (10/5): Loved staying here & We’ll be back - Lovely staff & setting. Great food although huge portions sizes Nothing
- Ian (6/5): - Excellent location at a fair price. The floor boards are ridiculously.nosey. Not fixed after our third and unfortunately last visit. Even with comments made in previous review and verbally. The room was also unbearably hot.
- Matthew (6/5): - Very friendly staff , lovely food and everything very clean Room was quite small and very hot making it very uncomfortable to sleep at night .
- David (9/5): Excellent Pub/Hotel - Very comfortable room and a great freshly cooked breakfast Squeaky floor boards
- carole (10/5): - Excellent cooked to order breakfast.
- Kevin (8/5): Mostly fine: a couple of minor niggles, but no deal-breakers - We chose this place precisely for the location. Apart from being very hot (limited ventilation and a pathetic fan) it was comfortable, the quality of showerroom, furniture and furnishings better than most places. Would happily stay here again. Breakfast was mostly standard for this type of stay in the UK, though the "granary bread" was unlike any I've had/purchased elsewhere: overall adequate rather than exciting. And given that the general quality of the building, furniture, furnishings etc, was excellent it seemed mean that a £ or two was saved by installing single power sockets by the bedside and very few elsewhere in the room. Floors a bit creaky, too.
- Suzanne (9/5): Superb - Clean good food There’s no Ubers or Taxis in the area. Dropped off from Airport and was a bit stuck. Friends finally arrived and got me after trying to get a ride after a few hours
- Anastasia (10/5): Exceptional - Very cosy room with a comfortable bed
Breakfast was tasty and staff were friendly and helpful N/A
- Jean (9/5): Great local pub - Lovely pub with good food and beer. The staff were very nice, especially the manager who's name we forgot to ask. The atmosphere in the pub garden was great, very friendly local people.
Only 4 rooms but ours was excellent. We had a lovely breakfast, good quality sausage and bacon and excellent home made bread. My daughter wasn't keen on ratatouille with sausage and mash 😀
- Caroline (10/5): Excellent value for money. Food was tremendous - The property was well located. Nothing
- Gareth (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (8/5): A very comfortable and easy stay. - Great Decor. Room a good size and very comfy bed. Great shower. A lovely meal and good breakfast. Good Wine. Staff helpful. Nice to have secure shed for our bikes. The room was very hot due to high temperatures. We had to have the window open and fan on all night. It was cooler downstairs. Would have liked more choice for breakfast. Yoghurt and fresh fruit?
- Paul (10/5): Really friendly place - Lovely large accommodation
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandy (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (9/5): Would definitely recommend it but take earplugs!😉 - Clean, obviously recently upgraded (in last year?). Easy to move about, really good car parking facilities. Bed very comfy, shower brilliant Please FIX the squeaky floorboards. It actually kept one of our group awake as people came to bed late - left for their work at 06.30/07.00

Very quiet and relaxing location. The breakfast was exceptional, fresh coffee, full English was very good quality and hot. No faults.
- Jo (9/5): Great place to stay. Good value for money. Just a shame our visit was short - Breakfast was great. And was nice touch to be able to personalise it.
- Robin (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (9/5): Family visit - We were there for family visit. Would have liked an extra chair in room for reading.
- David (9/5): Great place - Comfortable room, great shower, friendly and helpful staff, tasty food well cooked. Will definitely stay here again.
- Yvonne (10/5): Exceptional - Room was big and warm and bed super comfy. Breakfast was lovely as were all the staff. Pub in evening was friendly and food good. Throughly enjoyed my time here!
- Jacqueline (10/5): Fabulous - The staff, food and atmosphere were all excellent. The live music from a local band on the Friday night was fabulous.
- Stewart (8/5): excellent will stay again - the room nothing to add
- Patrick (10/5): A solo traveller's delight - A pub like pubs used to be when pubs were pubs. Well frequented with colorful locals. Wonderful conversation, food, drink and a comfy room to sleep in after. Breakfast was just as brilliant. What's not to like?
- Sue (10/5): Hotel, restaurant and bar just great - Everything

- Joanna (9/5): Superb -
- Jacqueline (10/5): Perfect - Quaint little village setting we were made very welcome by Georgia and Rob the bar staff, Carl Damon and Steve the chefs whose food was delicious to Angie the housekeeper nothing was too much trouble. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Nothing we didn't like
- Sally (8/5): Nice place to stay but the pillows need changing. - Style and location.
People. The pillows were lumpy and soft.
Cobwebs in area to hang clothes.
Noisy floorboards.
- Sue (9/5): We will return - Very welcoming , good food - perfect for going out to other places Everything was just right
- David (10/5): Angie cooks your breakfast to order. Clearly high quality produce sourced locally not the pile it high mentality of many - Clean very welcoming, great staff Nothing. Best hotel I have stayed in for some time
- Matt (9/5): Superb - Lovely country pub in pretty location.
- Verity (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (8/5): Very good - Noises floor boards.
- Samantha (8/5): Very good -
- Ross (9/5): Superb -
- Gavin (9/5): Friendly and fabulous - Fabulous place, staff were brilliant they could not have done more. The room was clean and very big and the bathroom and shower were excellent. Angie's breakfast was top notch too! Nothing
- Fred (6/5): Second time visiting this establishment, not quite up to first stay. - Room was good size, clean and comfortable. Bed was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Heating was not working in the room, in fact it appeared to be off in the entire portion of the building in which the guest rooms were located. On requesting that the heating be turned on the staff, though trying hard appeared not to know what the issue was for several hours. Eventually a thermostat that was turned down too far was found and corrected.
To be fair recompense was made for the inconvenience.
Food choice was somewhat limited with some odd choices under 'Pub Classics'!
- David (10/5): Great helpful staff - Clean homely place Nothing
- Miss (10/5): Would come again and recommend to friends. - Breakfast .excellent, lovely quiet location, smart but comfortable decor.friendly feeling atmosphere in the bar and the bar meal we had was so good and the wine, and we finished off the meal with a coffee by the log fire, home from home..staff are super, friendly and helpful. Bar staff came and sat in front of the fire to warm up right in front of us. This was a lounge area for guests...very rude !
- Steve (10/5): just what we needed - Super friendly welcome and room was fine for us - we stayed after a wedding so werent even there that long!

- Michelle (10/5): Fantastic - Very nice room Everything
- Andrew (9/5): lovely village, great pub and rooms - The pub and restaurant were tastefully decorated, food was good quality and reasonable. Bedroom was modern, clean and comfortable The staff were great except the cleaning, who was overenthusiastic and didnt respect boudaries, barelling into the room as we got ready to leave, interrupting our conversations and being over attentive

- Stephen (8/5): Drayton Crown stay - The stay was ok, the room was very hot although a fan was put in the room the duvet was of to high a valve, the pillows really do need to be of a better quality, they were very lumpy. We had a couple of minor issues that we spoke to the house keeper about.
