Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet quarter - From the right side (out from the hotel) are trams 6, 7 and 12, tram station is close to the bakery. From the left side is tram 2. Connection very good. I bought weekly ticket for 27 euros from the airport for my stay of 5 days. Hotel very quiet. Clean. Friendly reception.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quaint former DDR flavoured budget hotel - Good size room and spacious bathroom for 2 for a 7 nights stay. Room was cleaned every day. Wifi was not accessible in the beginning but was sorted later and connection was stable. No fridge. Comfortable stay with good transport connections. The area is residential and with quiet and considerate neighbourhood. The leafy park opposite the hotel adds tranquility and calmness. We did not have breakfast.
- Petra (8/5): - Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Straßenbahn in der Nähe. Kaum Verkehr.
Frühstück war einfach aber das Geld wert. Super selbstgemachte Marmelade
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Alles okay,
beim Frühstück könnt man noch auf Nachhaltigkeit setzen.
Marmelade in Alutöpfchen usw. könnte man gegen Andere austauschen.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Older, tradtitional style hotel in quiet residential neighbourhood. A very nice break from the crowd I’m the central area
- SilverOrlov (6/5): A very small quiet and authentic hotel a little away from the city center (about an hour's walk). - Pluses: This hotel is strongly associated with peace and quiet. And minimalism. To some extent, it’s even not bad. Subconsciously relaxes in its own way. It looks like a small guest house for people unfamiliar with each other who, by a rare coincidence of circumstances, will not meet each other within it's walls (well, or I got to such a period). With its minuses and my rating, I can’t say that I didn’t like that place. I do not regret that I stayed here with my wife, but the second time I do not want to come here. This is not my... element, if you will.
Minuses: There was a kettle but there were no cups. The phone did not work. Did not like the coffee at breakfast. My wife said that the tea was a little bit tasty but liked that the small hotel provided many different tastes of it. Small selection of breakfast. In fact, we can say that the whole breakfast is a variety of bread with butter, cheese and sausage. Breakfast is paid. I would recommend this hotel only to those who want to spend less money and are not afraid of rooms of the level of an approximately normal and comfortable hostel.
- Meredith (10/5): Big and quiet - The woman at the front desk was lovely and very helpful. Our room was large, filled with light, bug bathroom too. We didnt sleep well on the bed, it was too firm for us and the pillows too big. I'm still very happy overall. Easy access to public transit and very quiet area.
- Reschat (10/5): Gutes kleines Hotel - Sehr nettes kleines Hotel, gutes Frühstücksangebot und sehr freundliche Leute.
Gerne komme ich wieder!
- Christoph (10/5): komfortable Unterkunft in günstiger Lage - sehr schöner Kurzaufenthalt in einer angenehmen Atmossphäre; sehr gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis; gutes Frühstück(sbuffet); günstige Lage unweit Strassenbahnhaltestellen
- Natalija (10/5): Sehr ruhig - Es wahr eine tolle zeit!!!
- Arthur (10/5): - Jederzeit gerne wieder!
- hermesvg (10/5): A 5-star smile - Forget about how clean or cheap this hotel is. A real smile is priceless and this sets aside other hotels from Burgk. Neat rooms and a great assortment for breakfast just complemented the great service.
The hotel is located in a nice and quiet part of town just minutes away from the city center.
Fully recommended.
- dreamtraveler4 (6/5): Good basic German hotel outside of downtown area - We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel away from the city center and reviews sounded good so booked it. It was okay, and biggest pluses were the friendly staff and how quiet the area was. But rooms were dated, and our bath had a slight sewer odor. Did like that each room had two comfortable chairs to sit in which was great. Breakfast included and it was very good with lots of choices - typical German cuisine which we love. The hotel was about 4 blocks from the street car station so was easy enough to get downtown, and we felt safe walking back to our hotel at night. We parked our car on the street outside which was free and safe. Overall we had an okay stay but don't expect this site to be luxury.
- brada1964 (10/5): Nice place in quite part of the town - Hotel is in residence area, very quite and nice neighborhood. 12 min to city center buy Tram, with 2 min to bakery or coffee shop, send witch bar.
Very pleasant staff, with real wish to help you and make your stay comfortable.
- Annoyingly_Picky (6/5): Really Out of the Way - We stayed here for one night when we were travelling through the area. We had a standard double room which overlooked the rear of the building. The hotel is nothing special but we found it generally clean (no one had cleaned behind the tv for some time). The room was a good size. We had difficulty finding anywhere in the area to eat but did find a local restaurant about three blocks away that was very good. A lot of the streets in the area were torn up which made finding our root in and out of the area challenging.
Breakfast was good and plentiful.
This is a smoke free property, which we appreciated. Wifi was free in the lobby.
I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
- KayeN675 (8/5): Adequate in quiet area of Dresden - This is located in a quiet part of town which was nice. It wasn't too far to drive to Old Town to see the sites. There was free wi-fi in the lobby area but we could get it very slowly upstairs too. You pay extra for breakfast (8 E in the summer) but it was nice with lots of variety and fresh foods.
- paulchentuk (10/5): Clean, friendly, homey - We stayed 3 nights in a clean and not too small room. All facilities were excellent, connections into town are convenient. Nearby area holds all you need (shops, places to eat). Breakfast is an extra, but really a broad range of tasty food, the owner serving the guests herself!
- goldenjag (6/5): 5 minute walk to tram stops. - Stayed here for 2 nights in the heavy rain in may/June.Quiet safe area.15 minutes out of town by tram. Choice of 3 different tram lines out of town. Breakfast was extra to our room rate.(8 euros.) Food was ok but no hot food just cereals, bread, meats and cheese. Large bright corner room which was clean. Cannot comment on whether toiletries were renewed as we always take our own.
- SBasuSaha (8/5): Clean, efficent , spacious and pocket friendly - We stayed here for 2 nights during the International Dixieland Festival. It is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood but well connected to the city center, railway station by the tram stop which is well within walking distance. The rooms we were given were corner rooms quite spacious ,spotless and well furnished. The bathroom interior was as good as a 4star. Breakfast was homely and filling . There is no problem with online booking and the staff are extremely courteous. Reception area is very tidy and decent. No complaints whatsoever ...we d recommend this hotel to anyone who d like a bit of peace and quiet or is looking for a 'value for money' hotel
- hottrotter40 (4/5): Very disappointed after reading good reviews... - This hotel is quite far from the buzz of the city centre, in a quiet residential area and about 10 min walk from the tram stop. You dont feel like walking after hard sight seeing of the city. Our room was quite small:( cheap pine furniture, horrible towels and no toilettries were given after the first day. The hotel seems very cold with plain white walls. Shower wasnt strong too and the tap got very hot too! Tele didn't have any english channels. Breakfast wasn't included in our room price and didnt look very appetising... And yeah, there was no lining at the back of the curtain to block very early morning sun rise. Cant understand these german pillows! Otherwise city is fabulous and lots to see.
- klale (6/5): not bad... - The hotel is in a quiet Dresden area, not near the center but well linked to it by several tram lines all day long (until 4am). Our room was pretty large, clean and comfortable and the people at the reception were kind and efficient. The only negative point was that we could smell cigarettes in the reception hall and in the lift.
- Penny71 (6/5): Very good value - We spent one night at Burgk and found it to be very good value. The location, while not entirely central, is easily accessed by train. Our room was quite small but clean, although there was a distinct smell of stale smoke. We considered it fair for the price we paid.
Two things stood out about this hotel and left a very positive impression: the extremely friendly and helpful staff; and the generous and delicious breakfast. Both are worthy of a more expensive hotel.
- Kiwiroo (10/5): Great Value Hotel! - We stayed at the Burgk Hotel for 3 nights and rate it excellent value. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet and very comfortable. An excellent breakfast was included in the rate.
The reception was friendly and efficient.
We arrived by train and took a taxi to the hotel for less than10 Euro. Having found our bearings we then used the excellent tram system to get around Dresden, the tram ride from nearby the hotel to the centre is only a few minutes.
- Travellerxyz (10/5): A wonderful time - I have just returned from a wonderful week at this lovely little hotel not far from the city centre of Dresden. It is situated in a very quiet and picturesque residential area. The sights of Dresden can be reached easily by tram within a few minutes. The rooms are very comfortable and extremely clean, the staff are incredibly friendly and competent. If you are looking for a quiet and cosy place to stay, this is it!
- zeusarrow (8/5): Super Value - It's a little difficult to find, but once we located the Burgk Hotel, we were delighted. Sparkling clean,
large size rooms and a wonderful breakfast were included in the very reasonable price. We were very pleased with our stay.
