Important Information

Any group bookings over 3 people need to contact the property directly as there are different policies that apply to group bookings. Guests are only allowed 1 medium sized baggage ( Maximum 26" x 18") in dorms, any extra baggage can be stored in our store room at an extra cost of £5 per baggage per day. Food or alcoholic products or any form of drugs are not allowed within the property. ID check shall be made at the time of check-in. Only Government issued IDs with Photo of the guest and their Date of Birth mentioned ,will be acceptedGuests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Dennis (1/5): Great location for what we needed but everything else was awful. - The location Can’t eat or drink in the rooms. Had to pay deposit of £20 each incase of damage which I still haven’t received back since leaving. Staff not polite. Drains in the bathroom smelt awful of 💩. Beds not comfy. Windows didn’t lock or shut as they were broken. The door to our room had a dodgy lock took us about 5 mins to open it. Weren’t given a code to get in the door so had to ring door bell every time we needed to get in and the staff weren’t quick to come to the door

Angie (4/5): Very basic provisions and decor but does the job for one night. - Good location right by the harbour. Sadly the bathroom was not clean, the room ok but right next to bathroom with noisy fan and no lockers in the room to store valuables.
Dominic (2/5): Find somewhere else to stay, even if it's dearer - The nearby YHA is The Savoy by comparison. - The location and price were the only redeeming features - It's basically in the same location as the YHA building nearby, which was full at the time of my reservation. Firstly, the proprietors insisted on taking a deposit during the check-in process, which seemed particularly unusual for a booking.com reservation since I had already paid for the room, and then stated that paying the deposited by card would incur a non-refundable component to cover the cost of the transaction. Secondly, it's clearly an old converted warehouse, with thin plasterboard walls dividing up sections into narrow corridors and rooms, which can be confusing to navigate, especially as there are out-of-bounds areas taped-off and waiting for renovation. Noise travels easily between rooms and the whole place has the feel of a soviet military installation about it. Admittedly this is not necessarily the fault of the owners but I was placed in a shared room with someone who seemed to have no idea about basic manners. He took up most of the space with his clothing and electronic devices. And, taking 45 minute personal calls from family members at 03:00 in the morning (presumably from someone at least a continent-away, based on the time zones), and speaking at full volume while periodically switching the harsh LED ceiling lights on and off without so much of a warning, is, apparently, completely normal for him.
Maria (1/5): DISGUSTING! wish id read the reviews - Absolutely nothing! It was disgusting, the place was filthy, the bed was a camper bed with the springs sticking out, the bedding was dirty, no toilets working on my floor, told to wait in street while the restaurant connected finished serving customers. I wish I read reviews before I booked Half the place was taped off with do not enter signs, I couldn't tell you the last time it was cleaned, its connected to the Indian restaurant next door and if this is thier standard of cleanliness then I dread to think what the kitchen looked like. I slept in my clothes as the sheets were dirty , the private room I booked looked like a cell and nowhere clean to put your bag, there was 3 hooks on the wall so I hung it on there with clothes for next day on another, there was a homeless man sat in reception from 9pm so I think its a homeless hostel . I payed £38 for a private room which didn't have a nearby toilet, I wandered around on different floors to find a working one, all the ones I found was filthy, the sinks and the showers were filthy too. I didn't check in until 9pm and at that point it was too late ti find somewhere different.

James (1/5): Worst hostel I’ve stayed in - Nothing. Very rude staff and very run down worst hostel I’ve stayed in. Everything, had to go next door 3 times to try and gain access to hostel as staff kept leaving me waiting took about 35 minutes for them to finally open door after going in 4 times and told to go wait and someone would come. Then got told I was impatient. Multiple toilets and showers out of order. Dirty sheets and mattresses, room clearly not been cleaned. Also multiple areas looking like a building site with no access tape, Would not recommended staying here at all
Adesegun (5/5): - Not much really The hostel has potential but the owners seem not to see it and I don't think that will change. I don't think the rooms get cleaned at all because I found dust on the drawers, the floors and skirting board. I stayed there for 3 nights and couldn't wait to leave because of the smell coming from the place. I stayed on the first floor and there was a smell like garbage in the hallway that I had to hold my nose when passing by. There's no attention paid to the bathrooms as well. It feels like there's mould in there and some people mess it up. Renovating and cleaning this regularly will resolve this but I don't think they clean anything. Whenever you go out and press the doorbell, there's often no one at the reception to let you in. You'd have to go into the restaurant next door to get someone to open the door. This issue can be solved by giving people access cards so we don't have to go to the restaurant. There's no kitchen or even an area to sit to eat your food. I feel basic things like microwaves and a communal area with tables and chairs will be vital here but they're not provided. I did use the microwave from their restaurant and ate there as well but it wasn't ideal to just hand over your food to a stranger you don't know. Overall, the hostel has potential that if they renovated it and restructured the place, provided facilities like kitchen and a communal area it'd be OK. I didn't enjoy my stay here at all and couldn't wait to leave on the morning I checked out.

Lucy (3/5): Disappointing and unwelcoming. - Amazing location, only a twenty minute walk from the train station and was right near Bristol’s Harbourside district The rooms and bathrooms were disgusting to say the least. There were stains all over the floor and hair on the bedside tables. The shower and toilets were also yuck and didn’t appear to be clean in the slightest. Staff were hard to find. If no one was at reception you had to go next door to the restraunt and ask for assistance. I had my bag locked in the store room and when I needed to leave to make my train, was unable to find any staff so the storeroom could be unlocked and my goods retrieved.

I don't think it met the safety inspection as there's staircase that was blocked only by a few tapes to warn people not to go in, but it still easily to get through it. what happen if there's fire and people mistakenly taken it?

The place smelled a bit bad, would recommend a bit more of cleaning, but for the price one cannot be super poshy on that. Go there, is a good deal. And there was no locker for each bed so while going out we were suggested to keep it under bed. In our own risk that was little worry throughout our outing while keeping our belongings without safe locker even if I requested during booking.

The man at the desk kept disappearing, and when I asked him questions, he kept rolling his eyes. He told me there were kitchen facilities where I could microwave my own food, but that was a lie — there was no kitchen. I ended up having to buy food from next door, which was pricey.

PARASKEVI (5/5): - The staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. The location was perfect with an easy parking area nearby. The bathroom conditions were poor. It was dirty, the showers didn’t have any handles or hooks for clothes, and the drainage system wasn’t working properly. On top of that, people were going into the toilet to smoke, and no staff came to check or stop it. Overall, it felt neglected and uncomfortable.
Katherine (4/5): - It was very conveniently located, and the staff was always able to get you in from the restaurant, the rooms were spacious and well lit, and you could get everywhere easily. The beds. I did not sleep well, the sheet fell off almost immediately, and was wrapped around me uncomfortably the pillow was not thick enough to protect my head from hitting the wall and because the sheet would not stay on I had the plastic of the mattress rubbing against my skin causing marks the next day. Also the street sounds were so loud I was constantly being woken up every 30-40 minutes even with the windows closed and no other people in the room. I ended up checking out a day early.

Ayush (5/5): You get what you pay for - Great location and good value for money The rooms are quite warm and the traffic outside is very loud. No lockers in the rooms but you can store your luggage in a locked room. Bathroom facilities are passable but missing amenities such as paper hand towels. Finally, you need reception to buzz you into the building but it’s not always staffed.

Hen-Roy (10/5): Best place to stay if your on a budget with a better welcoming Atmosphere than most of the hotels. - The staffs are very friendly and polite answering any questions I had with a smile, positive attitude and welcoming feeling. I have stated here multiple times for multiples nights on end and never had any issues with them. They even allowed me to store my food in their fridges for no extra cost. I can't recommend this place enough. N/A
Josh (7/5): Excellent value for money stay in the centre of Bristol even last minute! - Price and location were great, felt clean for a hostel. Not being allowed food or drink is simply daft.

qrbaliyev (6/5): Good place for a short stay - The location was great, the heating was good, the room was spatious. The restaurant is adjacent to the hostel. Many restaurants around the hostel, meanwhile the room was quiet enough to sleep well. P.S: I got a bed in 3-bed dorm, althought my booking was for 16-bed dorm (probably because of the low demand in that period) There could be lockers installed in each room to leave more valuable belongings there (storage service was for an extra payment). There were not reading lamps and shelves; electric sockets were a little far from the bed. No hygiene amenities included in the price (dental kit, sleeping ear plugs, or shower gel).
Maisie (6/5): It was ok for a night - Very convenient location The room was slightly dirty and the windows did not shut, we tried to warm the room up but putting the heater on but it was stuck on a timer setting. The rules were also a bit silly, I understand the no alcohol but no food or drink in the rooms seems a bit too far

Melissa (7/5): Exactly what I anticipated. Reviews created a terrible negative unfounded fear. Staff were not awful - Great for train and bus. This is a budget hostel in the centre of Bristol. Basic but comfortable. More pictures to break up white walls. Only one pillow.

Sarah (1/5): So bad that even when I was allowed in, I couldn't bear to stay there. - Was refused entry despite having pre-booked and paid. Govt issued id was required and I didn't have it. It was in the small print of the terms and conditions but as so unusual I hadn't checked. Staff member was unfriendly and said management was unavailable. 10.30 on a wet night, a single middle aged woman, and despite my pleading he wouldn't shift his position. I managed to wake family at home and get photo of id sent. Discovered smelly toilets and questionable item in the bed. Left immediately and spent fortune on hotel elsewhere. No response to complaints.
