• James (10/5): - Hostess was excellent. We werent able to stay for the including breakfast so she made us sandwiches to take hiking for thr next day. Room was clean and the jacuzzi was absolutely perfect after days of walking up and down the hills. Parking was super convenient because we parked right outside the door. Restaurants and bars were in close vesinity too.
• Javier (8/5): Un lugar muy singular - Un alojamiento muy singular nunca me había encontrado alguno así, tiene un jacuzzi enmedio del cuarto, las camas para el tercero y cuarto ocupante son bastante incómodas. No hay lugar para poner nada en el cuarto. La atención es de primera, te reciben con una copa de espumoso y panque y en la mañana te envían al cuarto un variado desayuno. Como experiencia muy buena sobre todo nsi solo van dos personas.
• Sabrina Amber Taylor (10/5): - This is likely one of the most unique places I’ve stayed. There was a hot tub in room that was a bit loud while heating up but a funky thing to do while you watched tv, the room is cut into the rock and called the cave. My husband enjoyed the steam shower feature the most. Many stairs to get to room. The staff were so welcoming with a welcome drink and departing gift. Breakfast was delivered to your room and included fresh fruit. The hotel is conveniently located next to university and about 1/2 mile from River. That half mile is down to the river- so expect to get your steps in but although it seemed daunting there are many ways up and down with restaurants and bars along the way. I recommend checking this place out.

• Patrice (10/5): - What a charming and unusual place! The eclectic decor and the whirlpool bath in the center of the room make this place absolutely unique. Carina's welcome was exceptional. All the little touches and treats made us feel truly privileged. Everything was done to accommodate us, from validating our parking to looking after our suitcases until check-in.
• MARK (10/5): Coimbra Castle - Nearly impossible to get to unless you’re a Billy goat but SO worth the effort. It is like staying in your own private castle with a king bed! A very special place to stay that you will remember for years to come.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing! - We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The hotel is in a great location near the old city and university and the hotel itself is beautiful and well cared for. The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful.
• Stan (10/5): - We will always remember our night in our unique and beautiful suite! The photos are beautiful but don't even begin to show what a fun relaxing and comfortable place this is. We had a wonderful experience with our thre 20 something year old "kids". The greeting with a bottle of bubbly and a snack was fun! The breakfast delivered right to our door was healthy and ample. We loved the spa and slept well. We were just a short walk from the Coimbra campus. Thank you!

• Swaran (10/5): Quaint and magical! - What a hidden gem in Coimbra! My family were totally surprised and enthralled by the room, which had a hot tub and a Turkish bath! The staff were amazing and delivered champagne and cake upon our arrival and a lovely continental breakfast the next morning. The toilet room is very small and mind your head on the ceiling if you are over 6 feet tall. However, the ambiance made up for this little flaw.

• Anita (10/5): - Solar antigo is a unique space. Historic and adventurous. Our welcome was extremely friendly and Danielle went out of her way to make us comfortable. We were lucky to find street parking right across the building. Breakfast basket got delivered each morning with lots of goodies. For us the space was a little cramped for a family of 5. Good to note also is that the bathroom door is glass (see through) and the toilet door may not entirely close if you are tall. Personally I think Solar would be ideal for a couple. The spa in the middle of the room which was very luxurious! The hotel is in the heart of the city, close to sightseeing. The university plaza is a must! We had a great time and definitely recommend a visit!

Fomos muito bem recebidos, apesar de haver um pouco ou outro que não gostamos. A funcionária não sabia mexer no jacuzzi, e uma vez que nós também não, foi um problema inicial. Mas resolvido. O espaço é mesmo maravilhoso, para relaxar. Adoramos os miminhos de boas vindas ( bolo e espumante), assim como a cesta do pequeno almoço. Deixa a desejar o conforto das camas e o cheiro dos quartos

• Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - Was there for our honeymoon and paid extra for a nice room. The room is cool looking (as pictured), but stops there and was not very functional. Was very disappointed as the hot tub did not work, not enough outlets, switch that makes a gurgling noise when you turn it on (used to be a fountain? Not sure), bed very uncomfortable, sauna in the shower burns your feet when trying to step into the room (there should definitely be a warning sign for this-it is a hazard), soap dispenser in the shower also did not work, and to use the toilet it is almost impossible to close the door. Ruined our night that was supposed to be a romantic night, very disappointing, especially for the cost of the room.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Die Suite war einzigartig ! In so einer aussergewöhnlichen Unterkunft haben wir noch nie übernachtet. Die Suite hatte einen eigenen Eingang und ist komplett aus Stein. Der Whirpool war toll integriert und die Möbel sehr pompös. In der Dusche ist eine Dampfsauna integriert. Die Toilette ist ein wenig klein und bietet daher wenig Privatsphäre. Ansonsten perfekt! Frühstück gab es nach Wunschzeit in der Suite.

The loo by the bed was a little tricky to navigate especially after the Vinho Verde from the nearby restaurants, which were excellent value.

XVIII recuperado na zona histórica de Coimbra (muito perto: Universidade, Sé Velha). Facilidade estacionamento perto. Desde o início, grande cuidado na arte de bem receber, começando c/atencioso contacto telefónico a preparar check-in. O Luxury Spa, mezzanine c/entrada privativa, faz jus à designação, é 1 espaço c/ambiente e decoração suis generis, não renegando a origem lusitana em vários pormenores. O jacuzzi, a sauna, e a pequena cozinha apetrechada, os mimos (fruta biológica, frigobar c/bebidas), o espaço limpo, as roupas de cama e banho de boa qualidade e perfumadas, são aspectos que permitem desfrutar do espaço c/bastante conforto. As carinhosas cortesias de boas-vindas e de despedida fizeram-nos sentir em casa. O peq almoço entregue no quarto, numa cesta pitoresca e c/coisinhas boas permitiu-nos ainda usufruir da manhã de forma mt cómoda e relaxada. Todas as funcionárias foram extremamente simpáticas e solícitas, c/menção mt especial p/ a gerente, Sra. D. Cátia Costa, que é dum profissionalismo, cuidado e afabilidade irrepreensíveis (+ do que tratar bem Clientes, tratou-nos como recebendo Amigos. Bem haja!, enriqueceu muitíssimo a n/experiência). Este toque pessoal distingue em mt este alojamento. Apreciámos muitíssimo, não esquecendo o carinho que tiveram na felicitação original pelo aniv da hóspede; foram inexcedíveis, obrigada por tudo!

• DRT1404 (10/5): - An amazing historic property. Catia the GM was friendly and professional, always ensuring that our stay was great. With the hot tub, I would suggest to change the towels every day, as the room is a little damp at times. Certainly a very unique property which we would revisit.
