Guest Reviews
- Steven (10/5): Beautiful well restored building in central Warwick - This was our second visit we like the location the building and the value for money We couldn’t turn off the towel rail in the bathroom but that didn’t stop us enjoying the room
- Gunnar (8/5): Great pub with nice rooms. - The location is great in the old town and it’s within 10 minutes walking distance from the castle.
The room was very nice and comfortable. I am not a fan of decaffeinated coffee so they need to have that in their selection.
- Nicola (5/5): Too expensive for what’s offered. - Location, clean, bed comfortable Lack of curtains meant daylight woke us early. Poor breakfast. Lackadaisical staff.
- Alex (9/5): - Enjoyed live music on Friday eve ,and a nice meal Stayed 3 separate times now, and not over keen on the continental breakfast, prefer to have more options, apart from that very enjoyable as usual
- Kate (8/5): Pleasant, central pub with lovely rooms. - Spacious, comfortable room. Great location on quiet street near the centre. Nice bar downstairs, with 20% off food for residents. Breakfast a little basic, but included in the room price.
- Anthony (8/5): - Location and Pub. No elevator. We were on the top floor with heavy bags. No one offered to help.
- STUART (7/5): Nice hotel food looked lovely - Rooms were nice and beds were comfy Breakfast should have included cooked options for the price paid. The windows in the room would not stay open, which made it uncomfortable on a very warm day as there was no fresh air. On arrival, we approached a member of staff to check in and were told we needed to go to the bar. The bar was extremely busy, and we then had to wait around 10 minutes before we could speak to a member of staff to collect our keys.
- Beth (10/5): - The location, size of the room. Friendly staff at breakfast. A variety of breakfast. Close to bus links Nothing
- Lorna (10/5): A lovely welcome, rooms lovely all staff great makes the place. - A lovely warm welcome from Pheobie, Right next to venue
- Dom (8/5): - Full of character, great location and an interesting back story to the building. The staff were friendly and the croissants and pain au chocolates were fresh and delicious. Nothing.
- Robin (10/5): Perfectly located with a magical staff! - Everything was excellent!’ The general manager Phoebe was perfect and readily available every day! Josh took care of us from start to finish and went completely out of his way to ensure our stay was just right!! Emma took care to ensure our rooms were ready for us!! Our compliments to GM for such a welcoming crew!! Nothing
- Phil (8/5): - Lovely room., clean, quiet, beautiful bath and shower Obly basic tea/coffee in room; no smart tv; no cooked breakfast
- CAROLYN (6/5): Disappointing - Central Warwick Tiny double room ( did not indicate on booking )
A bit shabby generally I'm afraid
Breakfast sparse and despite asking for gluten free no choice ( offer to go and get bread but we declined )

- Jo (7/5): Great stay with some reservations - The staff at the Old Coffee Tavern are lovely and they really create a warm and welcoming feeling.
They have created a comfortable, clean hotel with good food which benefits from a great central location. While I would recommend the hotel, even if it was undergoing some updating, as it was during our stay. I was really disappointed with breakfast on our last day. Breakfast on the first day was beautiful warm pastries, yoghurt and fruit. On the second it was a few slices of bread for toast, a tiny amount of cereal and a few unripe bananas.
- Justin (10/5): -
- keith (10/5): Lovely. - The staff made the stay, they were so friendly and helpful.
The rooms are decent for the price too. We had a leak from the room above but these things are an act of god so can’t really complain.
- Richard (6/5): -
- Kathleen (10/5): Comfortable and well looked after. - Friendly and helpful staff.
Spotless clean.
Excellent location. No lift.
- Wendy (8/5): -
- Ed (9/5): -
- Diana (10/5): A very comfortable overnight stay. The staff were very friendly and attentive. As our room was not q -

- joespectron (10/5): great second stay in the old coffee tavern - really good value, good quality, comfortable clean rooms with a lovely pub/grill attached in an old building that used to be the coffee exchange i believe . great location in town centre too. friendly staff
- Vivienne (10/5): Wonderful Warwick Welcome - The staff were absolutey outstanding, it is one of the friendliest hotels I have stayed in, they made my birthday so special, Aaron and the team are a credit to this lovely hotel Nothing at all
- Anthony (8/5): -
- Susan (8/5): Good location for our stay staff friendly and helpful Lovely atmosphere - Location and atmosphere
- joe (9/5): 2nd time here, great facilities location and staff, great value, highly recommend - Spacious rooms, clean and good quality linen and toiletries, big comfortable bed. Lovely old building The pub downstairs closed at 6pm on the Sunday we were there which was a shame
- Michael (8/5): -
- Matthew (5/5): Disappointing stop over in warwick - Great location in heart of town perfect for walking around Warwick. Bathroom is large and has a good sized bath and a powerful shower.Bed is comfortable. Mould around the corners of the shower screens. I know its an old building but the windows are old single glazed metal frames and the condensation gives the room a damp feel. Tv is placed so that it can't be seen from the bed. Wardrobe had a musty smell so we left the doors open while we put our clothes in there. Beware, the breakfast is only a continental one, nowhere when booking is this mentioned which considering the cost of the room is a bit of a cheek. Also all it consisted of was bread, croissants, jam and cheap yoghurt. No fruit or usual continental breakfast fare, no wonder everyone looked miserable in there at the table.
- Mandy (10/5): Had a wonderful overnight stay. Lovely spacious room and very clean. Phoebe was so helpful when I rang with a query☺️ - Immaculately clean and spacious N/A
- Nick (10/5): 1st time staying here and was exactly as we had hoped. We stayed on a Friday night and enjoyed live music too when we at - Central town location, very clean bedroom/bathroom. Restaurant food quality was excellent Nothing
- elaine (10/5): - Had a great stay
- June (7/5): Apart from smelly room we had a good stay- included simple breakfast - lovely homemade croissants - Situation First room had a very strong sewage smell - we did move room
- Lydia (9/5): A great place to stay in the centre of town. - The staff here are lovely and the location is excellent.
The room we had was beautiful with a great view of the church.
- barry (8/5): -
- Mandy (10/5): What’s Not To Love - Clean, comfortable, lovely atmosphere. Amazing staff. Fantastic food. Live music. Dog friendly.
- redkerr15 (6/5): Average - Travelling for work and arrived around 9pm. I had already told the property I would be late but I got a phone call asking where I was. On arrival I realised it’s because they wanted to shut the pub. I was allocated room 4 on the first floor. Despite having two bags to carry I was offered no help (this would have been nice). I tripped on the way up the stairs. The room itself is fine. I have seen other reviews which said it’s tiny. It’s fine for 1. Bedding and towels were clean. I think the poorest part of the experience was breakfast. Advertised as including meat and cheese. None to be seen. The selection was cornflakes, granola, some croissants and toast you make yourself. Not hot food on offer. Poorest breakfast selection I have seen for a while. The lady who served me tea was very nice and asked how my room was. Not a terrible experience but could be so much better.
- Mick (9/5): -
- Haydn (4/5): Stayed in the Warwick Arms the previous night, far superior and fourty pounds cheaper. - Ideal Location and comfy bed. Bar staff seemed too busy to welcome guests, help with wi-fi or generally explain the accommodation.
- Deborah (10/5): - Nice room and central Nothing
- Gavin (10/5): -
- Robert (6/5): Disappointing for the money but fine. - Central location, friendly staff, bed was comfortable. For the price (£198 mid week), expected more. Room had some disappointing elements like unpainted plaster, limescale on the shower, broken bath plug, no coffee machine, no fresh milk.
- Mandy (10/5): Cosy - Clean, comfortable, friendly, helpful
- amy (5/5): - Big room
Location
Spotless
The team were welcoming Very hard bed
Sadly due to issues no food on the eve and not the full breakfast offers in the morning
- Mark (9/5): -
- Charlotte (10/5): Friendly staff superb location! - Great location and friendly staff. There was an issue with our first room and they moved us immediately.
- Edward (5/5): - Friendly people, good location Awful drain smell in my room
- peter (8/5): Idea place to stay - Modernized and super clean, staff a joy Slight leak from on suite but minor
- Angie (6/5): Out of the property most of the time, great location. - Excellent location, brilliant staff Room very small and tired
Breakfast basic
No parking
Leaking toilet onto the floor
- Sian (3/5): Very disappointed - Location and room size It was very cold and there was no breakfast which I paid extra for
- Adrian (4/5): Disappointing and not worth the cost - Rooms good size and clean Very poor breakfast and service
- Kareen (7/5): - Was cosy and clean, good location. Friendly staff. The breakfast was basic. Was expecting hot items.
- Sara (10/5): I would definitely come back and stay again - The room was very nice and the staff were so friendly and helpful
- keith (3/5): Not great would not recommend - Location was central They offer only a continental breakfast which actually didn’t look like a continental breakfast very sparse. In 2021 We stayed at this hotel and they did a lovely full English. This hotel has gone down bank didn’t feel as pristine as we remembered, we would definitely not stay again and wouldn’t recommend to family and friends.
- Gina (7/5): Great location - Location and cleanliness. The room was very spacious and had a fridge which was useful. Very dog friendly the staff were very kind to our dog. We messaged several times about dinner and no one got back to us. We also messaged about a later check out and again no one got back to us. We were told we could check in early but when we arrived the room wasn’t ready. Staff need to update their knowledge on local amenities eg car parks. Breakfast was very basic.
- Sally (10/5): Beautiful room and superb location. - It was really smart and modern but still had a vintage wholesome charm about it. The rooms were lovely and clean and the pub is so nice! The bed was so cosy!!
- John (8/5): Warwick a great place to stay - Perfect location Continental breakfast
- Victoria (7/5): -
- Steven (10/5): Great choice for central Warwick and for visits to the castle - The central location and authentic pub hotel vibe Well you cannot park there but as it’s virtually the town square you cannot complain and we were given the details of a very close public car park where you can park for 24 hours which cost us £12
- Sandy (5/5): Stayed 5th 6th December good location but way overpriced for the unloved, shabby draughty room we stayed in. - Great location, comfy bed, plenty of tea/coffee in the room. Shabby room, grubby carpet in the room, draughty windows, constantly dripping shower valve, absense of cooked breakfast although advertised as served at the weekend on the website and continental breakfast very lacking.
- Steven (10/5): -
- Grant (9/5): - The bar and restaurant were lovely and the room was beautiful and great value for money would definitely stay again The only two minor things were the TV in the room needs to be updated to a smart TV as no streaming access Freeview only and it was too hot with no clear way to turn it down
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect stay for a weekend Xmas break! :) - The staff were lovely from the moment we walked in to the moment we left! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are lovely! Hotel is right in the centre so we could walk around and see the castle etc! 100% recommend!! Nothing to mention. Everything was great from start to finish. We loved it! :)
- Teresa (10/5): Excellent stay - The hospitality was excellent as was the room and food. Phoebe looked after us and she was brilliant
- Steven (8/5): Good - Comfortable room with a nice big bed. The room was quiet, considering that there was a bar downstairs. The location is great, it's right in the heart of town. The staff were friendly, and the complementary continental was nice. The building is old and in some areas, you can tell. We had a leaking toilet, we told the staff. Who immediately tried to fix it, to no avail. The staff were really apologetic about it.
We struggled to find a suitable parking space, and the car park that the hotel recommends is too far of a walk. In the end, we parked on the street, paid until 5 pm, and then parked for free (Saturday night).
- Ian (8/5): -
- Julie (8/5): Great stay in a perfect location - The location was great and the room was comfortable although as it was over the pub there were quite strong food smells until late. The room had a great view of the cathedral and the sound of the bells was a nice bonus and didn’t disturb us. Comfort of the bed and less food smells.
- Jane (8/5): -
- Stuart (9/5): -
- Claire (10/5): We had the best time celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Phoebe went above and beyond to make our stay extra speci - Staff, location and interior decor
- Bajpai (6/5): - Breakfast start late and bery basic for price charged
- Danielle (8/5): Overall good stay and would recommend or go back if needed. - A lovely bar situated downstairs with amazing cocktails.
The room has a lovely church view at night time when it was all lit up. Just a shame it didn’t offer full English breakfast during the week as it does at the weekend so we took a trip to the local spoons which was a 2-3 minute walk.
- Beth (9/5): - The location, good size room and excellent facilities. A lovely continental breakfast and friendly staff on hand. Nothing
- Alex (8/5): -
- Christopher (10/5): -
- Melissa (6/5): -
- meg (10/5): Would 100% stay again. Really warm, cosy and a great location! ☺️ - The staff were really friendly and welcoming, the room was so cosy warm and clean. And the location of the Tavern is perfect. A short walk to Warwick castle and the Sainsbury’s car park.
- Mandy (9/5): -
- alan (9/5): -
- Mark (8/5): - Staff great. Breakfast good Were not told of funfair outside when booking.
- Marijke (5/5): Was expecting more.. but overall ok - The bed was very comfortable, and you could see effort had been made to update the rooms. Plug in the bath didn't work, plug in the sink we couldn't get up once it went down. Found out once there it was unmanned once the bar part closed (which FYI is 6pm on a Sunday) and also breakfast is included but only continental which again we only found out once there from reading infor on the back of our door. I definately felt that the rooms were an "add on" rather than part of the business and think the above mentioned things could be clearer on both their website and booking.com
- Nick (8/5): -
- Alfie B (10/5): - Excellent place that ticks all the boxes!! No problems whatsoever and would stay again. Excellent breakfast and food, comfy beds and quiet location despite being very central, and great staff. Nothing!
- Ben (8/5): -
- Maisie (10/5): -
- Montana (8/5): -
- Louise (10/5): - Second visit staying overnight lovely room and fabulous dinner too. Slept well
- Sergio (8/5): - Localização e café da manhã Recepção inexistente; quarto que, apesar de confortável, precisa de uma melhor manutenção; inexistência de estacionamento gratuito próximo, como afirmado em troca de mensagens
- Catalina (8/5): Lovely clean room - We absolutely loved our room at The Old Coffee Tavern. The staff were lovely, the location was perfect and we loved the high ceiling and historic feel to the place. It was very clean and we appreciated the little touches like biscuits by the kettle and water in the fridge. The only thing that stopped this review from being "excellent" was the breakfast - it was a continental breakfast and we found that the pastries were stale, so the options were really only cereal, fruit, bread and cereal bars (points for offering oat milk though!). We honestly were a little bit disappointed but other than that we loved our stay here and would stay again!
- leon (9/5): Lovely room - Really lovely room, comfy bed and great location Very personal preference but the curtains are light and let light in. Not major issue though
- Jaffe (8/5): -
- Brian (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay the room was nice and the bathroom was great, but we did find it fairly warm during our late Aug stay.
Bed is a little on the hard side, but that is the norm in the UK in general.
- Mark (10/5): - Amazing location
- Lisa (10/5): Lovely Stay - Lovely room, comfy bed and fab breakfast. The staff are really friendly too.
- Stephen (9/5): Memorable! - We had mentioned when booking that it was our 45th wedding anniversary, and the hotel did their best to recognise that. On entering our room, we were greeted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a vase and anniversary card plus a large balloon in recognition of our special day. To cap the evening off, even though we'd said we wouldn't have a desert, the chef brought us two anyway, with the compliments of the house accompanied with a lovely "Happy Anniversary" wooden board written beautifully in chocolate. Now that's the way to go the extra mile for your guests! Nothing of particular importance
