heather (3/5): DO NOT STAY HERE. - The location and peach yogurt at breakfast. Our shower flooded everytime you used it. Even with an empty hotel, there was only 1 room ready for when we checked in. The maid never came when the room was empty to clean it. We had to ask for extra towels. The first time she came just just walked in the room without knocking. There was no sign to put on the door. Even tho it said it was renovated, everything in that room was old and not quality standards.

They were in the middle of remodeling so it was a mess. The toilet didn’t work upon arrival, once we called the front desk it was fixed rather quickly. Front desk staff were not very friendly.

Ryan (3/5): Hostel Marriott - Convenient location Building is in shambles. They rented rooms directly next to rooms actively under construction, and we were woken at 8:00AM each morning to hammering and power tools being used on the wall separating our rooms. My son stepped on a razor blade in the hall. Drywall chunks were ground into every inch of the tattered carpet. All the wall paper was peeled so badly it curled in large loops. I felt like I was staying in a run down hostel.

N1456CQnikkib (2/5): They are digusting - Update: I was issued 10,000 points which is not equivalent to a full night stay, especially if you did not want to issue a refund for this horrible traumatizing stay. For 2 weeks I have reached out to get in touch with General Manager. There has been a lot of back and forth through emails, I have called to speak with him once as well, but he said he had a meeting to attend and never called me back. I gave him 24 hrs to reach back out and I then heard back via email because I called the Marriott customer service number to open the case that he closed, back up. He also stated that he gave me 10,000 points in which are not in my Bonvoy account. Since he denied me a refund on my room and I don’t have the points, here we go. I was in town on Jun 28th-29. I woke up to my back wet, only to find out it was Urine soaked in the mattress that came through the thin top cover and the sheets. I got up took a shower and left before check out. I informed the front desk lady of the issue( I have recording) before I left and I reach out on Monday morning. From there I was given the run around. He stated that he could not refund me on his end because I booked through Priceline and they use a virtual card. I called Priceline and the GM stated to Priceline that he gave me points and that he did not agree to a refund. So this has brought me here.

We we entered the front desk staff he was so welcoming to our family….And I would like to give a specials thanks to Kim for both days I meet her at the breakfast nook and then the next day she clean our room..So sweet…Sharon was also a dear I told her the oatmeal need a pray 🤣 and she put her love it in and also help me make my husband waffle with perfection 😉…Thanks so much for making out stay..

I have never been treated like such and then 5 minutes later another guest came in with a bigger dog not chastised for being near the food like I was as if I was a child the reason I picked this hotel brand is because of my service animals and how other hotel give issues and problem so I paid for a high level of professional service and what I got was treated like a criminal I sure because I was in the antebellum south and how racist is still prevalent that the only reason that I am my service animal was harassed because of the color of my skin for that could be no other explanation when the service animal was fully marked and under control leashed and all I was trying to do was have my good ol complementary breakfast I need someone fired asap

Terlyn S (10/5): Accommodating - You'll get your monies worth. The staff was accommodating and pleasant to interact with. The overall cleanliness was good, I had two concerns, the mildew that was obvious in the shower stall and the cobwebs and spider activity, in the corners of the wall, over the blinds. If you moved the blinds it disturbed the spiders. Some clorox/tilex spray would solve the mildew issue and a broom or duster, the cobwebs. There were no lingering unpleasant ordors in the room. Bed, although I don't think it was a king, it was comfortable, well made, and had exceptionally clean linens and bath towels. The breakfast area was well kept. They offered options to accommodate everyone's preferences. I was be able to have a healthy fresh meal in a clean environment. My only ask would be that there were covers for the juice cups. There was one manager, I failed to ask him his name, if he wasn't at the desk assisting the clients, he was sweeping, wiping, cleaning something - all the while humming or singing. His presence created a welcoming atmosphere. The location is strategically placed, where restaurants, diners, and discounts stores are in walking distance and easily accessible. The Fairfield is the place to stay if you want a good night's sleep away from home, in a clean, quiet, and safe environment.

PurpleTrippin (10/5): Great Overnight Stat - Booked thos hotel for a quick overnight with family. Parking was easy. The lobby was clean. I had a friendly greeting from Greenly. He was warm, helpful and chexk in was super easy. The room was spacious and clean. There were 4 guests but only 3 sets of towels. I called to the front desk and Greenly answered the phone. He said he would bring the towels and they were there in no time. As we settled in, we ordered in food. They do not deliver to rooms, so we sent one person to the lobby. Because it was a larger order, Greenly saved the day again by helping tonbring up the order. We are very appreciative of this warm environment. Everything was perfect. Check out through the app went well. We had to leave before 6 am. We missed the breakfast but would definitely book again. Getting out that early, we left something at the hotel. We called back, it was at the front desk. Retrieving it was easy.

toddkharding (4/5): Poor experience. Hotel needs updating - This hotel is in need of serious updates and repairs. The ceiling of the breakfast room has large chunks of paint hanging from it. Our room’s bathroom needs repairs to grout, the sliding shower door (gets stuck/hard to move) and had hair throughout. It was not clean. The room needs a refresh. The shelf hold the tv is leaning and about to collapse. The elevator shakes extensively when arriving to a floor, especially the 4th floor. They lack hospitality and knowledge about how to treat Marriott Bonvoy members. Especially the high tier members. Don’t count on receiving the benefits you are entitled to. They try to claim they are an independent hotel. Too bad their franchise agreement says differently. Don’t expect a late checkout, especially a 4 pm guaranteed late checkout for platinum. They try to apply rules that only are afforded higher level properties. I’d find another property.

Sherry (6/5): - I am very particular & notice every little thing when I stay away from home. We happened to notice a very dark hair lying on top of the comforter & under the thin little bed topper. There was something splattered on the wall/wallpaper near the bed. It looked to be ketchup or wing sauce or something. The bathroom was ok. I've seen much worse & much better. I thought about taking pictures of these things but just didn't take the time. The bed was not very comfortable & the pillows were awful. The room was very humid/damp. No matter the temp, which we kept pretty cool due to it being so hot outdoors. We felt "sticky" in the room. With family in Greenville, we visit quite often. This was the first time we've stayed at this hotel, and it will be our last. I am disappointed it had such high ratings including the specific room that we booked rating it a 9+ "excellent," which was why I chose the room/hotel. The "pros" were continental breakfast which was decent. The front desk staff both checking in & out were friendly & efficient.

Trail793850 (2/5): Multiple problems and GM only made excuses! - ECU Graduation weekend. First charged 600 plus per night. Arrived Friday night, laid on bed and felt something wet on my bottom. Pulled sheet back, then mattress pad and mattress was soaked with urine. Took photos, went downstairs, showed photos to desk clerk and she apologized. Said hotel was full and gave me a towel and a change of sheets. Said we would be compensated. Next day moved to another room and the hot water did not work. Said we would be contacted by GM and two days later he finally returned my call. He offered us 10,000 points for our trouble, I refused! Found out the people that checked in Saturday were only paying 170.00 per night for the same room we were being charged 600 plus. I approached the 2nd shift clerk and showed her on their website. She reduced the room to 360.00. Still overcharged! STAY AWAY!!!

Kelley (9/5): Superb - Greeley was so welcoming and friendly! Check in amd out is so easy and quick! Love our stays at Fairfield! The breakfast at this location was not as good as it normally is...it was decent but the sausage biscuit option really is not good...
N6861HHbrianp (2/5): This hotel is the worst - I have never before left an online review of a hotel, but this one is especially horrific. Filthy bedsheet (stained, with hard stuff on it), lights out in the room, broken television, a tile in the bathroom even fell off the wall while I was there, but the worst was the manager who let themself into my room despite the do not disturb sign being up. Marriott customer service apologized and promised a refund, but then later decided not to honor it. Impossible to believe that the two hotels across the street are not better. If you are paying more than $15 a night for a room in this dump, you are getting ripped off.

Vernon (9/5): Great ! - The breakfast bar was great! This is a big deal on why we stayed here. Our mother was having sugary at ECU hospital. We didn’t want to leave the hospital while mother was still in surgery . (She 85 not leaving) ours stomachs were full and mother’s surgery was a success!

Michelle (2/5): - During our trip, we were inaccurately charged and never received the email of the bill as promised. The hotel room was clean, but the pillows were too thick and the surrounding guests were noisy and blasted music late into the night/morning. Breakfast was charged on our bill and it was not good. Very disappointed!
E5482HGsusanl (4/5): Probably just lost a guest - Not sure where to start. My main issue was when we woke up in the morning, there was no water in the toilet. We had to remove the back lid and use the trash can to flush it. The hairdryer did not work, the tub drained so slow that you were standing in water by the end of your shower. The room really needed some basic maintenance. The was a very noticeable hole in the carpet and the clothes hook in the bathroom was hanging out of the Sheetrock. I have stayed at this location before and really enjoyed the convenience of its location and it was clean and in great condition. I’m not sure if I will stay there again on my next trip. There are too many other choices right in that same area. I did write down all my concerns regarding the room and passed it along to the desk clerk at checkout. I asked for some form of compensation for the toilet not working. I was told that he could not do anything and it would be passed along to the GM and he would get in touch with me. As of yet, I have not heard from anyone at the hotel.
Robert M (10/5): - Excellent all the way around! Great front desk staff. Wildlife views from my room, including nine deer at the same time one evening. Great location everything is just a few minutes away.

Brandy (10/5): Great Stay as a college parent - Front desk at check in was extremely helpful and friendly. He was able to help us answer questions about local eateries and where to go. Room was extremely clean and comfortable.

Eric (8/5): Crazy deposit reason - Having to pay a $250 deposit because my address is within 60 miles which I'm totally not understanding the logic about that...why do that apply to locals ? If that is a policy then it should be on website so people will know before reserving a room. I will not stay here anymore nor will I recommend to anyone.

Meredith (8/5): - We loved everything about our stay, but I have to admit that we purposely chose this hotel for the indoor pool, and my kids were soooo excited to swim! We got all ready in our suits, got down there, and the pool was ice cold! We couldn’t go beyond our toes, and they were so disappointed that we couldn’t swim. I would recommend removing that feature or there being a disclaimer stating the pool is not heated or closed for the winter. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!
