Guest Reviews
- Saskia (8/5): - Amazingly cozy apartment. The host was super friendly. Everything was really clean. The toilet was really cramped in between the dishwasher, we could barely fit our legs. There was no coffee or regular coffee machine.
- Lila (10/5): - magical environment in ancient structure
- Antonio (10/5): -
- Anna (8/5): Really lovely cozy property in fantastic location in the old town of split. Lovely host also ! -
- Stuart (9/5): Very comfortable, very clean apartment for a stay in Old Town - Great apartment in old town, kitchen well appointed, washing machine, outside drying, Host was so helpful and knowledgeable always offering further assistance. Very welcoming If stairs an issue, this is not your property, as there are many
- Julia (10/5): Great little apartment - This little apartment is in the middle of the palace complex, down a small alley and up a set of stone steps. It is compact, but thoughtfully designed, well-equipped (kitchen) and brimming with charm. Irina, the owner, was incredibly helpful to us. She checked in with us before our stay to coordinate logistics, arranged a car to meet us at the airport, met us when we arrived, gave us a tour of the apartment, and had helpful advice about restaurants, ferries, buses, and ATMs for changing currency.
Altogether a delightful experience in a really interesting part of Split.
- Thomas (10/5): - This was just the coolest room. We felt like we were stepping back in time. A small living room and kitchen downstairs and bedroom upstairs. Beautifully restored. So comfortable and cozy. There was a washer and dryer in the unit. If we’d planned better we could have cut down on packing. A real gem.
- Todd (10/5): - Perfect location, close to everything. Great little apartment with lots of character and a very thoughtful host.
- Mary (10/5): - Irina is a wonderful responsive host. The apartment is charming and unique. We couldn't be happier with our stay and will recommend to our friends.
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely two story unit with bed and washroom below and kitchenette and seating area above. With the green market and fish market so close, less than 4 minutes, we made our breakfasts and one dinner while there. There was a folding table that was perfect for this but it would have been nice if there was a couple of folding chairs as well. Not a criticism, just a suggestion. It was one of our favourite places that we stayed at during our 8 city tour of Croatia.
- Christine (9/5): Lovely stay in a 16th century apartment within the old Palace walls. Superb location! - Salvezani apartment was small but has so much history, 16th century stoned walls, original ceiling beams, etc. We loved the location, right in the heart of the old town Palace walls - truly special. Irene is a good host, meeting us at the apartment, helping us take the luggage up the steps and providing us with useful information. We enjoyed our stay.
- Rod (10/5): - The location and decor. The Host was exceptional. Wished we had more time in Spilt and more time to enjoy the apartments The bowl and shower door issue needs addressing.in the lift apartment
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Kathleen (9/5): Perfectly located to be close to everything. - So close to so much
- Jennifer (9/5): Great little apartment in the middle of town. - Had everything we needed. Especially liked the provision of a light throw for sleeping under (most places provide quilts which are too hot in summer).
- xiangyi (10/5): Recommended!! Really nice place! - The best place we lived during our journey :-)
The room is clean and comfortable with great view of old town Split, near to Dioklecijanova palace. Decoration is very tasteful and the owner is kind and warm. Really great stay and experience.
- Sandra (10/5): - Irina was super! Very helpful and went out of her way to accommodate us. Lovely apartment …loved the history of the apartment .
- Elsa (9/5): -
- Brittany (10/5): - Was accommodating with my stay. More rustic, but right where you want to be in Split.
- Allan (10/5): Cosy oasis in the heart of old town - We stayed in this very cozy apartment for two days at the end of August and were thrilled with its central location, cozy decor and, not least, Irina's very friendly and helpful nature. On of our best city-stays ever.
- Rebecca (10/5): Good location - It was great staying in the Old Town. The space is a bit awkward as you try to mesh the old with modern conveniences. Be prepared for steep stairs. But the area is truly charming.
- Ali-Rose (6/5): The apartment itself was very nice. It was difficult communicating with the owner to organise check in and check out. - The property was very pleasant, tidy and in a great location. Shower didn’t drain
- Trish (9/5): A wonderful host in a beautiful city - In the old city and easy access to buses, shops, attractions & restaurants
- Isak (8/5): - The apartment is beautiful, very very beautiful! It also felt clean. AC worked well. The location is amazing, in the middle of Old Town. The host was very kind. In general, we are very happy with our stay. The host is very kind and understanding, however she felt a tiny bit confused. We were told we could check-in at 2pm, however when we arrived at 2pm the room was not ready and we were told it would probably be ready at 3pm (which is the regular check-in time). We came back at 15:15, however she appeared to still be cleaning, so we came back at 15:40 and then our room was ready.
The day of the check-out there was some confusion regarding payment. We had paid via Booking which the host said she couldn't see, however she was very cooperative when we told her we had paid, and she later thanked us for our help and said she had gotten a message from Booking regarding the payment.
We were also not told about where we should leave the key when checking out, meaning that we had to call the host and ask where to place it.
If the communication had been more accurate and some more information would have been given without having to reach out to the host this apartment would be a clear 10/10.
- Terry (10/5): - Nice property and very nice host. Convenient location and nice inside the apartment.
- THOMAS (10/5): - So helpful with everything, even coming to meet us from our taxi to walk the final part winding through all the buildings.
- Isy (9/5): - Beautiful apartment and right in the heart of the palace which was lovely. Host was friendly and helped up with any questions. Great for a few nights in Split.
- Tom (10/5): Absolutely charming, perfect location -
- Zack (10/5): Unique, historic, beautiful and cozy place in the heart of the old town - I love the apartment! It was very cozy, located right in the heart of the historic part of Split. I thought the AC worked very well, I liked the seperate bedroom and upstairs lounge/kitchen area. The host was very responsive, it was easy to find using Google maps. Just a note there are some steep stairs, it wasn’t a problem for me but if you have mobility issues it may be difficult to navigate and get luggage up. To me this added to the charm of a very unique stay. Pictures were exactly as in the advert. I enjoyed it all and would certainly stay again
- Jason (9/5): -
- Benito (9/5): Very central place to explore Split - Central apartment located in the old town of Split, the Diocletian palace. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, A/C worked well. Quiet in the evenings. Many restaurants, shops and museums are nearby. Excellent host. Bear in mind that in order to reach apartment, there are two sets of stairs. Inside the apartment, the actual bed is in an interior upper level.
- Ella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ella (10/5): Fantastic Stay at Apartments Salvezani - Fantastic stay at Apartments Salvezani. The host (Irina) was incrediblely friendly and helpful. The apartment was spotless and it was lovely to stay in a building that is part of Croatian history. It is in a excellent location in the old town. Close to shops, restaurants and beaches.
- Allison (7/5): Good -
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - very good location and accessibility to old town. property was clean and cozy
- Rose Marie (10/5): - Lovely, small apartment in the middle of the palace area
- John (7/5): Good - Location Lots of steep stairs but in Old town. Tight living arrangement, but again in Old town.
- John (7/5): Good -
- Bolivar (6/5): - To much and to big furniture what makes it almost impossible to move around. Lots of difficult stairs.
- John (7/5): Good - Location Toilet seat had been broken so there wasn’t one
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Douglas (10/5): - Vey nice restored 16th century apartment in the heart of the old town palace. So cool. Irina the owner was very nice and super accommodating. This was a fantastic place to stay!

- Lynette (7/5): Good - Well equipped apartment
Good location inside Palace walls. The couch could use an update...a little uncomfortable
- Colin (8/5): Apartment Salvezani - Apartment Salvezani is in an excellent location in the heart of the historic palace area of Split. The bedroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The washing machine was great. We appreciated the owner, Irina's, assistance and helpfulness. We recommend staying at Apartment Salvezani to be in the heart of historic Split.
- James (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): - This is a great little flat. Yes, it’s cozy and the stairs are narrow and steep, but that was no surprise and definitely manageable. Worth it to stay within the palace walls!
- Peter (10/5): - Thoughtful attention to renovating such an old building to keep it authentic but practical. Excellent location in the heart of the old town, comfortable and homey space. Our host was lovely, very helpful and accommodating.
- Melissa (8/5): Good price for excellent location - This property had a really nice feel about it. The decor was lovely. The bedroom was downstairs and the lounge and kitchen area upstairs.
The location was very central and inside the historical walls.
The price was very good.
Host was lovely
I have made a video review so you can see more details. If you'd like to view it here's the link https://youtu.be/hMiQfstbnVI No microwave
Lounge suite was a little dirty
- Yuen (8/5): Adequate stay in Split - The property is in a quiet location whilst being near restaurants, shops and Diocletian's Palace. The bathroom is small though. There is also no microwave but there is a washing machine with drying rack.
- Kristy (10/5): Great location, apartment lovely and clean. - Location
- Zivile (8/5): Very good -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shawn (10/5): - This is a wonderful location in the heart of the Diocletian Palace walls. The two level room was cozy and full of character. Irina was a wonderful host and gave us lots of great tips for area attractions and dining. We would love to stay here again.
- john (10/5): - Great location, great couple of nights in the old city
- Rachel (9/5): Ideal location for exploring Split - Ideally placed for exploring the Diocletian palace. 10 minute walk from the ferry port and bus station.
The apartment was comfortable and well stocked.
- Susan (8/5): anonymous - the location was great for restaurants and shopping in the palace. hard to find the place. tucked away.
- Shane (8/5): Was really pleased with our host and allowing us early access. Position was ideal for what we wanted - Host's communication and flexibility and the position of unit was outstanding TV upstairs. Needed instructions.
- Philipp (9/5): Great room in centre of Split - Location, size, cleanliness A lot of noise from wondering people downstairs, but I guess if you stay in centre of old town, it must be noisy.
- Robin (10/5): - Our host went out of her way to help us. Very cute apartment in the middle of the old city.
- Jennifer (8/5): Quirky but interesting accommodation .. recommend - The property is 16 th century so a little quirky… bed was comfortable and the shower hot with great pressure.
Great location.
Our host was amazing.. very helpful and informative and met us and also arranged transport when we left Would have liked a microwave
Lots of steep stairs that may be problematic for some guests
- Graham (10/5): - Location excellent , quirky fun appartment. Good value
- Kim (9/5): Perfect location to explore Split - The location is amazing - right in the heart of the Old Town. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The bedroom space was tight, but it was great to have the attic space upstairs The stairs with luggage was tricky, but all part of getting to stay in the Old Town.
- Joanna (9/5): Superb -
- Darren (8/5): The perfect location in a cute historic building - This apartment is in a fantastic location within the old town center. So close to everything but super quiet and peaceful when you're in the apartment. Location alone makes it worth it. It's a neat space in a historic building with a lot of character. Host was helpful and check in was super easy. This is a very personal space and there is quite a lot of knicknacks and such around the apartment. All cute and it really looks like someone likes the place and lives there often but, I guess I'm more of a minimalist and would prefer less cutesy things laying about.
- Janine (10/5): It was wonderful - The apartment was in a great location in the old town. It was spotlessly clean. It was very cute. The lady who owned it was lovely, extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend. I would stay here again Nothing, just perfect
- Tamika (8/5): - Wonderful experience staying here!! Authentic Croatian experience staying WITHIN Diocletians Palace in a 400 year old apartment. Only negatives is there is a city bell that goes off at 6 am everyday and the bathroom had a strange smell- although our family staying a couple blocks down from us had the same comment about their apartment so it could be a city plumbing issue.
- Alex (10/5): Fantastic location, great host, and a homely stay. Wish we could have stayed longer! - The rich history & homely feel to the apartment made us feel very comfortable. The washing machine also helped a lot with our trip as we had just finished from a Sail Croatia cruise and needed to refresh.
The property looks like the photos The rooms got somewhat hot/humid but this was obviously going to happen as we were there at the end of August. No fault of the owner!
- Wayne (9/5): Super cute apartment located right in old town. - Great apartment with everything we needed for our stay in Old Town. It was a challenge to find, but right in the heart of the town and a short walk to anywhere in the area. The room was wonderfully laid out, with the bedroom downstairs and a small attic style area up top for the kitchen and entertainment area.
- Julia (8/5): Comfortable apartment in a very central location - Very comfortable apartment with an amazing location that is very walkable in the Old Town, but was very quiet to the street noise below. The check-in instructions were very clear and proactive so we did not have any issues arriving to the apartment. It was tiny and cute and we were happy to have the upstairs area to open up our suitcases and spread out. The bed was comfortable and apartment was clean and well equipped. The AC was very strong upstairs but did not cool the downstairs sleeping area as well. We were thankful to have a fan downstairs since it was very hot during our August trip. The ladder/stairs to the upstairs area was steep and the bathroom was tight for our tall heights, but we didn't find this to be too much of an issue.
- Jonas (10/5): Exceptional - The host was so lovely. Told us about the history of the buildings and recommended places to eat.
- Roy (8/5): Nice but could have been so much better with decent aircon - Great location Aircon was rubbish - only just cooled the bedroom with no cooling effect on lounge/kitchen. We did not use the apartment to its full potential due to it being too hot in the lounge room/kitchen area
- Kyros (10/5): Relaxing and worry-free stay! - Renovated place with character in the heart of the old town! It had everything we needed for our trip! Irina was more than welcoming and gave us great advice to plan our trip! Thank you very much Irina!
- Jessica (1/5): Started the same way it ended, a nightmare. - Location The following is 100% true. I have screenshots and photos of everything, in case the owner tries to say we’re lying.
- To start off with, the owner sent the details for OUR apartment to the wrong customer, who arrived before us so we got stuck with the cheaper apartment. We didn’t realise, and called her and she gaslit us saying she told us the appt number via message and then when I proved her wrong I got no response.
- We didn’t see her until our final day where she blamed the problem on her cleaner (??) and when we asked her for a refund for the price difference she said “You’re American all you want is refunds” (we’re Australian not American but it was still an insult). The owner tried to say how lucky we were because it was the bottom apartment and less stairs (?!?). We only got a refund because I asked, she wouldn’t have offered of her own volition. Upon the same interaction, she then blamed us for not telling her we were in the wrong apartment, even though she TOLD us to go to that apartment, how could she be unaware??
- The apartment we stayed in (again, not the one we booked) was disgusting.
- The “bathroom” was barely big enough to fit one person to spread their arms in, but a shower, sink and toilet have been put in there. There was gunk and residue in the wooden slats at the bottom of the shower and there was no water pressure. If you’re a man you can’t stand and pee because the toilet sits under a staircase, only enough room to sit.
- There was the owners personal items/decor EVERYWHERE, boxes and rubbish thrown in open storage cupboards (I have photos), it was so messy and just junk everywhere. I have nothing against tasteful decor but it was just junk. And covered in dust.
- The bed was very firm and not comfortable at all, pillows were also uncomfortable.
- The air conditioner unit was the noisiest one I have ever heard, it sounded like there was a plane flying above the apartment constantly.
- ARTHUR (6/5): - The location is excellent. But the excess to the property is not easy, as the directions are confusing. Some of the electric sockets are not working. The bathroom is way too small. I hit my head twice. I will not recommend it to my friends.
- Mohammad (7/5): Historic old town - Location, feasibility being in the old town Host is not too tech friendly and things get lost in translation. The host did not provide a receipt for city taxes and she was adamant we had to pay
Travelled round Croatia and didn't have to pay taxes as it was all included in the booking options
She mentioned I messaged too much and even though I clearly said I was arriving at a certain time prior to arrival She isn't too tech savvy and made us feel not so welcome
- Adam (9/5): Fantastic location, great host, cosy apartment - Great location in the heart of old town. Irina the host was great and friendly when checking in. Cosy apartment & has all the amenities required for a short stay. It was a little bit cramped/small apartment but has lots of history & noisy throughout the night! The bed could have been a bit more comfortable!
- Kelvin (10/5): - Irina was a great host and gave us a good overview of all the amenities this beautiful property offered which made for an amazing first trip to Split for us. Very highly recommended
- Mandy (10/5): It was the quintessential Croatian experience. Thank you Irina. - The location, the history and the comfort of the apartment When I locked myself out of the apartment in my pajamas. I did have a key🤣
- Jim (5/5): Quirky in middle of old town, steep steps and limited storage - Quirky, right in the middle of the old town. Not much space to put clothes away. Hot water was switched off and knowing we were arriving late it would have been nice not to shower in cold water. A/C unit very noisy with only 1 speed (high)! Step steps up to room could be difficult for families and older people.
- Laani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sze (10/5): Exceptional - Good location, in the centre of old town.
The kitchen with everything I need for cooking.
Good to have a bluetooth sound system for playing music.
- Tymoshenko (1/5): Bad - I do not recommend it to anyone!!!! Bad service! Disrespect from the manager. Lack of necessary hygiene products. Threats in private messages after vacation. First time such a bad experience. It's a shame that people like this continue to work.
- Breeannan (8/5): Very good -
- Mitchell (10/5): Great location, great space. - This a great property right in the heart of the Diocletian Palace. It was clean and comfortable, more than enough room for a quick stopover in Split. We would definitely stay here again. Nothing!
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - So much character, right in the middle of the old town.
- Lourd (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Leanne (9/5): Superb -
- Janet (8/5): Very good -
- Benito (9/5): Superb -
- Nathan (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (8/5): Lovely place to stay in the heart of Diocletian's Palace. - Lovely place to stay within Diocletian's Palace. The space is great, with a bedroom and a seperate living area with a sofa and a kitchenette. There is a washing machine and a drying rack. The host is kind but I don't think she is very tech savvy. I think there were times she may have read messages but didn't actually answer. You have to arrange a time to meet to get the keys. I forgot to do this until the day of arrival so I admit I have her short notice but said we would walk around and meet her when she could come. After not getting a response for 1.5 hr, we finally decided to go to the apartment and luckily she had arrived at the same time we arrived. Also, I asked about parking a week or two before our arrival. She did say two places where there were paid public lots but didn't know the price for parking. The closest lot was full so we parked behind the bus station about a 10 min walk away where the parking was 27€ cash per 24 hours (or 1.5€ for first hour and 2€ each additional hr for max of 27€ for 24 hrs) After we were able to get the keys, we went back to the car to get our luggage to bring to the apartment. Other than that, the location of the apartment is wonderful. The bathroom is very small but functional. The shower is like on a boat where you pull curtains to create a shower space. Check-in could have been smoother if we were given the code for the lock box with a message instead of having to meet the host at the apartment.
- Catrin (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property in the centre of the old town. Lovely welcoming from the owner!
- Louise (5/5): Very hard to find but a super location - Nice little apartment inside the Diocesan palace. The owner did not meet us as promised so it’s impossible even with local help to find the correct apartment. We ended up climbing up far too many stairs to the wrong place. The next day we were moved
