Guest Reviews
- Samantha (10/5): -
- Heidi (8/5): - That it was next to the river Was all good
- Sharean (8/5): - Loved the bath, loved the venue, the animals, the views, it was amazing. Its really worth waking up early to see the hot air balloons take off through your own bedroom window (or even bath if you are brave enough, hehe). The only thing we were slightly dissapointed by was that fishing was listed as an option and was actually the deciding vote that brought us here but the water could not be accessed from anywhere in order to cast, even after taking a walk in search of a spot
- nelly (10/5): - It was value for money. Loved the jacuzzi.
Hi 👋 to Epheline, what a nice lovey lady.
I am surely going back with the kids next time. Nothing at all
- Vukani (10/5): -
- Seome (8/5): -
- Guest (9/5): - The chalet are clean and comfortable
- Hita (8/5): Very good - Tranquilizing peace, the constant flowing water and complete isolation from the city. Jann was amazing and tentative. Worth it and we definitely coming back for a week this time.
- Pete (9/5): Quiet, ttranquil, next to nature and for birdwatchers ideal - self catering the mattress is a little soft in the middle, but otherwise everything else was 100%
- Mxolisi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bronwyn (8/5): Very good -
- Marianna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerhard (10/5): It has been my 3de visit and I just love the privacy -
- Joane (7/5): relaxing and comfortable, great for couples - The fridge was a bit small.
Cleaning and massage services were later than arranged, and this was confusing.
- Zolile (5/5): Passable -
- Tshidi (9/5): Serene and tranquility in the mountains - The chalet is spacious and neat, and I liked that each Chalet is far apart. Privacy is guaranteed. The place is so tranquil and sarene that if you want to isolate yourself from the noise and busy life of the city, it is worth it and it was also beautiful to see a few animals grazing around.
• The bathroom setup is beautiful and has a nice view of the river, and we appreciate that we had access to hot water at all times.
• Kitchen utensils were enough.
• We loved the private lapa, which afforded us an opportunity to have a braai in our own space. Thank you for the charcoal and firelighter that was provided.
• We enjoyed having access to the warm pool in the communal area.
•The timeous responses whenever we communicated with you Epheline, and it was a bonus for us that ice is sold on the premises. Since it is a self-catering venue, having a mini bar fridge in the chalet is not ideal for travelers who will spend 3 to 4 nights.
An upgrade on the couches as the two seater was uncomfortable in chalet 2.
- Lesego (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Rivash (10/5): Great service from Ephilene and cleaning staff, we will be back - Ephilene was very helpful, polite and courteous. Great experience!

- Mamodise (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the privacy and, the distance between chalets.
- Mrs (8/5): Very good - The whole experience was very enjoyable
- Tineke (3/5): Poor -
- Quinton (10/5): Exceptional - The peace and quiet. The fact that all the chalets are far apart from each other gives you that feeling of complete privacy.
- Solomzi (8/5): Very good -
- Antoinette (1/5): Bad - We did not even stay there. The place is shocking. The surroundings were unkempt to the point where we got a flat tyre from the terrible roads. This place needs serious attention.
- Mthokozis (6/5): My stay at Little Swifts was amazing but only a TV was missing. I enjoyed the fireplace. - N/A To have a television in the chalets
- S (8/5): Had a lovely stay. Owner and staff were lovely. Stay only spoiled by not having more natural light in chalet. - QUIET and peaceful which is NB these days as too many places have noise problems these days!!!! Nice chalet. Lovely staff. Easy quick check in. Chalets very dark but charming cozy decor. Fireplace was important especially in winter as rooms are dark and cold. Opportunity was missed to put in a north facing window on each chalet which would have solved this problem.
- Nadine (5/5): Passable -
- Itumeleng (7/5): Good -
- Vusi (7/5): We had a lovely time at the chalets. They're really good value for money. - Location and staff Mini dam/ pond for canoeing was empty.

- Michele (8/5): Loved it. And especially having the whole place to ourselves . Magical - What a wonderful surprise so close to Pretoria. From my first enquiries to collecting the pillow I left behind, the staff were knowledgable, informative and accommodating. A treasure in Skeerpoort which I have already shared with friends and family
- Michelle (6/5): Peace and serenity is the order of the day at Little Swift! - The peace and quiet at Little Swift is unmatched. This is an excellent choice for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of busy city life, but who still want to keep it "close to home" (only an hour's drive out of Joburg). I also have to give credit to Ephilene for being so kind and hospitable during our stay. She was always available to assist - day or night. The corner bath tub is a great addition to the room. Thoroughly enjoyed taking a bath with a view of the stars! Loved the fact that our room was located almost on the riverbank so we had a clear view of the flowing water. I was very excited to make use of the outdoor shower facility, but it was short-lived as there was an issue with the water (very low pressure). I also wasn't very impressed by the condition of the indoor shower. The shower curtain was stained and gross and there was mold growing in the corners and between the tiles. Cell reception is really poor on the farm and there's no WiFi - not sure if that was done with the intention of getting people to "switch off", but it worked. There's also no TV which would have been a nice addition. The unit also wasn't as clean as it could have been - saw quite a few spider webs between the burglar bars on the windows.
- Siyamukela (10/5): Little swift chalet happy client review - I loved the privacy and tranquility of the area, very peaceful and in touch with nature. Perfect for a couple's getaway. The unit was neat and clean and the bed was very comfortable, the bathtub was an experience to die for with the view into the river. We really enjoyed our stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed the pool area as well. I understand that it's a farm stay however the domestic animals approached the pool while we were using it, which caused a bit of discomfort since I am afraid of animals. However, the dogs were harmless as long as you didn't panic.
Also there was a cat that was too familiar with our chalet also caused a bit of discomfort when enjoying the braai facility and opening the chalet sliding door.
- Nancy (7/5): Good -
- Martha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thembi (7/5): Beautiful 😍 - Very friendly for my family and kids The smell from bathroom 🚻 and the fridge makes so much noise
- Melissa (7/5): Good - Close by Hot tub not working and freezer to small
- Khathutshelo (8/5): Very good -
- Ling (6/5): price is higher than what we paid to other properties but conditions are not as good as others - no breakfast rooms too dark,I don't like the towels colors, they are brown and gray.
- Jennifer (10/5): Little Swift - excellent - They were very organized, it is safe and so peaceful and private. They have everything you need from loadshedding lights/gas stove to charcoal, wood, fire lighters, and even ice on request. They are helpful with giving recommendations to restaurants or activities neat by like quadbiking. Super friendly and so very helpful.
Absolutely amazing. We will be returning soon. There was a breakfast bowl missing but they brought us another one.
- Du (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thina (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay and will be back soon ❤️ - The privacy and feeling of being one with nature. The air is so clean and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxation.
- Ryan (10/5): Little swift is beautiful - The most utter respect and trust between us and Litlle swift
It was a breath of fresh air Nothing really I can pin point from start to finish I enjoyed myself
- Nonhlanhla (9/5): Superb -
- Zak (10/5): Exceptional - What an awesome stay. I haven't felt so rested and relaxed in years. My soul is rejuvenated. It was so tranquil and peaceful.. Will definitely be back for a longer stay.
- Jean-Pierre (8/5): Honeymoon getaway - I was amazing to see and hear all the wild life. As a bonus we got to witness the hot air balloons inflate and fly away.
- Moripi (8/5): Stay was very nice & quite a perfect place to relax - Location, very quite & peaceful The grey sheets
- Keneilwe (9/5): Superb - I loved how we were welcomed, the convinience with everything we needed in the facility. Our stay was very warm as well, I loved how the wood and coal was prepped for us as we ended up using the fireplace during the cold weather. This was great, we had hot water throughout the whole stay, no limitations. I loved it. I would only comment on the animals, I don't have a problem with animals being a part of the experience but the wilde beast made it a little uncomfortable because we had to rush to our chalet from the pool area and the wilde beast was out there coming at us. We had to always make sure there's nothing outside before we left or took any walks. It's nice being outside to just enjoy the nature setting. So if there would be specific times when the animals are let out, maybe when there are no guests or maybe on a specific day alert the guests to expect animals in the space, then we know when to stay indoors and when to be outside. Otherwise everything else was great thank you.
- Heili (9/5): Superb - Love the Bath in the room with windows. All the Animals and quietness.
- Sheree (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the fresh air, the wildlife and farm animals. You're forced to relax and actually have a holiday away from the chaos of life. The owners were so kind to allow our fur children to come with us and they loved it to- they cried when we packed the car up and left out of the gate. The owners and their staff take great care in making you feel welcome. The staff have excellent communication skills. Thank you so much!
If the weather is good- you also get to see hot air balloons in the morning- bonus sight!
- Mxolisi (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Rene (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sylvan (10/5): Exceptional - Hand over with treats
- Sibongile (7/5): Good -
- Masikane (10/5): The hospitality was amazing! I received milk and crunchies upon arrival which made little swift stand out. I had a peace - I loved how it made feel as if you were at a safari. The environment felt very peaceful and safe. I loved that there was a bit of distance between neighbours, it gave you sense of privacy I just wish that there was a shower. The road leading to the property was terrible especially for cars that weren’t bakkies
- Karin (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic value for your money, will definitely return to this awesome place
- Robert63za (9/5): Superb -
- Mpatho (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (8/5): Very good - Close as can get to Balloon rides. Quietness and rustic surroundings. very clean Host made us feel very welcome .Communicated in advance on property check in requirenents Bed is not super comfy .bedding however super neat this is not complaints it is only an observation otherwise we a greatfull
- Simone (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caroline (8/5): Perfect location for balloon flight - Remoteness, farm milk and electric blankets! Nothing
- Johnny (9/5): Superb -
- Pity (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mbali (8/5): Very good - We really enjoyed the setting and the sound of the river flow. The staff there was very friendly. It really is such a peaceful space . The fireplace really is helpful during the winter times . Our anniversary was well spent . There was a bit of an issue with electricity . We really hope this will be fixed by our next visit .
- Bauba (1/5): Bad -
- Bauba (1/5): Bad - Nothing The place wasn't clean, I was shocked to find a 2 plate stove. The blankets was not enough hence it is winter. Nothing was actually interesting in that chalet I must be very honest. There was no television.
- Thabiso (7/5): Good -
- Sharlini (8/5): Awesome stay - The place is cozy, the team were friendly and it was a beautiful peaceful place for a weekend getaway, beautiful animals surrounded by nature.
They provided electric blankets which was a bonus for the winter time and was very useful at night. It seemed like there were squirrels in the ceiling, bit noisy but I guess it's part of the nature.
- Thabiso (9/5): Superb -
- Dylan (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (3/5): Unit was okay, outside was not as advertised and i wont be back. - The Unit inside, excluding the bathroom was nice, I liked the fireplace and the braai area. 1) Everything outside of the unit was a mess and nothing like the pictures advertised. the trees in front of the unit were all cut down and just left in front of the unit, it looked like a dumping ground.
2) The bathroom was tiny, toilet seat was cheap thin stained plastic, it needs to be replaced, shower head inside needs to be replaced.
- Donald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francine (9/5): Romantic farm getaway perfect for introvert couples! - Fireplace inside was great for the cold weather we had and giving the cozy chalet a romantic atmosphere. Love the big bath with view. Well thought out chalets and good quality linen and towels. Perfect for couples looking for total peace and quiet. We went midweek and felt like we were alone on the property! We unfortunately had a lot of loadshedding/power outages. Gas stove and candles provided helped a lot, but maybe it can be mentioned somewhere that they are purely on eskom with no back up generator or solar.
- Nelo_dubs (9/5): Superb - A very nice getaway that offers peace and time to recharge.
Bathtub view was great and indoor fire place was excellent.
- Darius (3/5): The stay was nice but could have been better with a little more activities for the children - The area is nice peaceful with no noise and the fire place made it even more comfortable The place could do with a television and some swings for the children because there is a lot of space that is unused.
- Allie (10/5): wonderful peaceful garden chalets with great swimming pool - I loved the peace and quiet and all the animals around the area. the pool and hot tub were amazing and so was the inside bath tub with views to the stars at night! Good kitchen and fridge and lovely helpful hosts! loved it and hope to be back! nothing
- Sunelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jean (5/5): based on our experience we will not be going back - The whirlpool. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The view from the room was nice. Chalets are very close. Owner was quite rude. No hiking trails. We went there because it is a working farm, unfortunately the owner did not make us feel welcome and was quite rude. Because there are working farms everywhere, there are noises as early as 5am.
- Kgolagano (6/5): Some expectations were met but not fully like our first visit. - It's still a breath of fresh air, the atmosphere was revitalizing. The second visit was a little off from the first one, some utensils were not up to standard, the knifes and can opener were broken, the fire wood seemed damp and took too long to even start a fire. The were frogs coming in to the room even with all doors closed. And when leaving my car got caught in the mud after all the rain, no one assisted until my partner asked for assistance.
- Adriaan (7/5): Good - The serenity and fresh air. It were advertised that you can fish but there are no way due to dongas and thick bushes that makes it impossible. The accommodation is average.
The staff is really friendly and the quietness. You can travel the road in dry weather with a car but after it rained it were really difficult.
- Lalla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maoeng (9/5): Best holiday ever and a wonderful place - The place is very beautiful and clean units are clean the staff is very friendly and it's a good place for couples who want to reunite themselves cause the place is quite The fact that the is no TV in the units it enables you to bond more with your partner and pool along with the jacuzzi are clean and the view is wonderful from within the units
- Nthabiseng (10/5): The chalet was clean and comfortable. A perfect romantic retreat for couples - We really enjoyed the Hot Tub and our chalet was over looking the dam which was a beautiful view to wake up to. Everything was great!
- Nonhlanhla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nomfundo (10/5): Private slice of bush heaven - The peace and quiet was amazing. My husband and I felt like we were in our own bush due to the privacy of the chalet. We literally did nothing and it was heaven.
The owner Jann and her staff were so welcoming and efficient. Nothing.
- Daniel (10/5): Wonderful. - The host and staff were very friendly and respected our privacy throughout our stay. The bath overlooking a majestic bush was a big bonus for a romantic break away. Lastly the wildlife is superb, everywhere you look you spot something scurrying about, truly a wonderful experience.
- Clyde (5/5): Passable - Friendly staff. Very flexible, eager to help. Very accommodating. Time and space to reconnect as a family as there is no TV and you cannot do too much on your phone as reception is limited. The rooms layout is very unique overlooking the river and it can be very relaxing. Braai area at the room is always a huge bonus We found our room had a lot of dust under the bed especially. Lots of cockroaches, perhaps because it's so near water as well as other insects such as spiders. The place is animal friendly however no fencing for your dog. So if you take your pet out at night you need to be weary of other animals on the property. Could not fish in front of my chalet, too many trees and branches.
- Letlhogonolo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikita (10/5): beautiful view, such kind staff, absolutely loved everything about it!! - We loved the view, so beautiful - such a nice place to just switch off from the world and unwind
