Guest Reviews
- Lisa (10/5): Best location EVER! - Fantastic location! Great showers and breakfast. Loved being next to the Temple Mt and Western Wall! Could easily pop in our hostel for a mid day rest or break. Could walk to everything! Mt of Olives, tunnel tour, Western Wall, Mt Zion (dormition church, St. Peter gallanticu), old city quarters, and even took a bus to Bethlehem. Never once took a taxi or had to walk far. Everything right outside our doorstep. Would totally recommend and stay here again! Towels provided.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The "receptionist " was rude and too busy on her phone to focus on checking me in. Floors were all wet all the time. I had to go through police to even get to the hostel area because its a muslim only area. Which, with me not being from here, i didnt realize when i booked. Random people would scream at me and say i couldn't be there because i wasnt Muslim. The room was nasty and falling apart and there was a HUGE pile of dirty laundry piled up just like, right there in the room. I booked two nights but i stayed with a friend the first night and was honestly worried about my luggage i kept in my room because the whole hostel and room was open and unlocked and accessible to anybody. This whole place just felt unsafe. The next day i left early didnt even stay the 2nd night. i just couldn't.
- Watson,Peter (6/5): - There was one 2m square toilet, with a theoretical showerhead right next to it on the wall. The door was a concertina one that did not securely lock. I did not use the shower, and didn't hear anyone else using it while there. There was no provision to put or hang clothes or towel. The paper towel dispenser next to the hand sink was empty the whole time. No cloth to wipe up in kitchen
Best things about this hostel were the generous breakfast, and particularly, location, location, location.
- Ingris (10/5): Very good - Very good
- MUHAMMED (2/5): Sadece Konum...(Only Location) - Sadece konum olarak tercih edilebilir.Kahvaltı dahik dese de kahvaltıyı yok diyebiliriz.Temizlik Kötü.Tek avantajlı tarafı mescidi aksaya komşu olması önemli bölgelere yakınlık bunun dışında tercih etmek için başka bir sebep bulunmamakta.Fiyat olarakta benzer yerlere göre pahalı
- Verified traveler (6/5): Turkish prison, but nice enough considering the - It was an experience, probably similar to a Turkish prison. Small yet cozy. The staffmdoes try real hard to please. Location can be tricky, be aware.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Chain gate Jerusalem - Nice place to stay
- Derrick (6/5): - Great, if your desire is to be near everything in the old city. Probably not the best choice if you are carrying any luggage, seeking comfort, or would like lots of facilities and services.
- Leonid (2/5): - Incredibly unpleasant, dirty and cramped. Around the hostel, in rooms lurking huge black cockroaches. Shared showers. Absolutely bad experience.
- Will (6/5): Indifferet staff - A great place if you want the feeling of staying in a hostel from the Middle Ages.
Don’t expect to find any service from the one person who works there.
The is no common room except for a one meter wide corridor. Breakfast is bland and sparse but free.
Expedia does not offer an address for the place but here is a hint...
From Jaffa Gate go down David Street. If the police try to stop you from entering the street, tell them that you are going to the hostel and they will let you through. The hostel is at the Chain Gate at the very end of David Strret + Chain Gate Street. (You will soon realise that “street” is something of an exaggeration I old Jerusalem)
- Mahida (10/5): - The hostel did it's job. It was central to my needs, clean, welcoming and the right price.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Had to wait in the reception area and did not get checked in despite booking in advance.
- Ann (2/5): Best location but worst experience - The only good thing about this hostel is the location. The moment we reached this place we are greated with a very rude reception. The room is super small. Then we return to the hostel in the afternoon we found our room door wide open. The say its for cleaning but they just leave it ajar. The room is at the ground floor and there is alot of people walking around and we don't feel secure. There is even people sleeping in front of our room just along the corridor which is meant for people to walk to the bathroom. The worst part is when we were sleeping in the middle of the night, the rude reception open our door to look inside. We had locked it but she got a key. Make me awake and got me so shocked and shouted. So I will never go back to this hotel
- Jeff (6/5): Interesting but not clean, friendly or social. - Interesting place to stay. In a great location. Probably the closest you can stay to the Golden Dome. I didn't really enjoy my stay however, staff were not helpful, the dorm bunks were very squeaky. Washer and dryer were in the dorm room themselves. I don't think the sheets get cleaned very often. Difficult to get to and find with all the street closures in old Town Jerusalem. No communal or hang out areas. Water from the shower leaked into the toilet stall. Breakfast while included was an afterthought, as the bread was still frozen.
