Be aware that building work being carried out around (and perhaps to) the hotel, Rotterdam appaeras to be never finished and building work everywhere but still a graet location

I had a top floor room with an amazing view, but even without that, the staff are lovely, everyone is friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and it's in an ideal location for exploring central Rotterdam. No real downsides - there's no restaurant (though there is a pay-as-you-go breakfast bar) and it can occasionally be noisy outside as it's in the city centre. But it's a great place and I'd happily come back to stay here again.

They were able to check us in earlier than their normal time. All of their staff were very helpful and offered great advice for restaurants and activities. We highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Rotterdam!

- niesyl (10/5): Home away from home - Check in was super easy thanks to Amy. She was so amiable and welcoming that it was quite nice to be greeted with that after driving for such a long time. The room was spacious and they gave us a free upgrade which was very much appreciated. The bed was super comfortable. My partner and I both agreed that it felt like we never left home because it was as comfortable as the bed we have back home. The shower had really good water pressure too. We parked at the hotel. It was convenient and front reception have been really kind to help us get our car in and out of the hotel. Overall. We loved our stay at The James Hotel. We totally recommend it to our friends.

Room was available for earlier check in, reasonable size and with comfy bed and good shower. Breakfast is a little basic, but you can choose what you want and pay per item. Good value overall.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable, we stayed in a family room which was very spacious. The little market area for drinks, snacks and breakfast was very convenient. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and the whole family really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return!

- Andrew (10/5): Great location for exploring Rotterdam. - Great location for exploring Rotterdam, close to major department store and food outlets - walkable to most central Rotterdam sights. Front-desk staff were helpful, and check-in was smooth. Room was clean and comfortable. Our car was too big for their car elevator into the on-site car park, but - when I enquired about parking ahead of our stay - the hotel advised us to park in Q-Park directly opposite the hotel. Very convenient.

- Paul (10/5): - I had such a great time staying at The James Hotel in Rotterdam! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, making me feel right at home. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, and the design of the hotel is modern with just the right touch of comfort. My room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and surprisingly quiet considering the central location. The bed was super comfy, and I loved having such a cozy space to unwind after exploring the city. The amenities were great too. The self-service food market on the second floor was really convenient, and the gym was a nice bonus. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Rotterdam with easy access to shops, restaurants, and public transport. I was able to walk to most of the main sights, which made my trip even more enjoyable. All in all, I had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend The James Hotel if you are looking for a chic, friendly, and centrally located place to stay in Rotterdam!

My room was comfortable and spacious, and overall the stay was pleasant. I didn’t like that food and drinks are purchased through machines using a credit card, with no staff around, which made the experience feel less personal and welcoming.
- Martyn (10/5): - Very fortunate to have chosen The James Hotel in Rotterdam- it’s perfect . The hotel itself is excellent - rooms are so clean and well maintained and amenities on level 2 (a lounge and Self-serving food shop) are of a very high standard . The staff are ever so friendly and there to assist you 24/7 The hotel’s location is situated perfectly between walkable site-seeing options or via close-by trams, to having many shops and restaurants just around the corner. Overall - I strongly recommend this hotel as their room prices offer very good value for money imho. If I come back to Rotterdam- this is where I will be staying ! 5 stars
- Udayan (8/5): - Room, a double bed, was nice, modern and spacious. Clean hotel, very centrally located, walking distance to Central Station and Erasmus Bridge. Nice 24 hour convenience Foodhall store on 2nd Fl for food items and sundries (no cash payment, credit card machine only), spacious lounge area attached to it. Has wifi, mini fridge and Aircon with cooling/heating. Bathroom reasonably well configured and equipped. Cons: minor. Tiny espresso cups in room, not good enough for tea - can wing some paper cups from 2nd floor Foodhall as workaround. No iron and ironing board in room,but hotel can lend on request. Spare plug near writing desk would be of help. As would usb ports there and at beside tables.
- David (4/5): - Was charged with a 30 euro fee that we werent told about when booking, then a 100 euro deposit which is outragous. that alone, as soon as we walk in was enough to ruin my expectations. Then we were told we can have any guests in the rooms which made it worse. The quality of the rooms and lounge were good but the beds were awful. Cheap foam ontop of two beds put together made it so you always fell in the middle and we kept waking up in pain. there was also a thick layer of dust on the bed headboard but clean other than that.

Don't be put off by the slightly uninspiring appearance from outside (and the tiny door from the street!) as it's really lovely inside. I wish it had a restaurant, but there are so many around that it's not a problem. I was on one of the low floors and barely noticed the traffic noise at all. Would definitely come back and stay again!

- Folashade (6/5): - Ghe hotel had no atmosphere considering it was during North Sea Jazz weekend aalot of guest were staying at the hotel. TV and telephone in room did not work and despite reporting it , it was not fixed during our stay. Badly trained reception staff not knowing hiw to greet guests on arrival. No breakfast ootion and limited ' market' to purchase snacks. A charge placed on credit card to cover damage at check in whuch we were not advised about and this us still showing as pending on my card. would not recommend. And woukd stay there again.

- Bert (10/5): - This is the 10th time I stayed at The James hotel. Best price for a hotel in the centre of Rotterdam. Very clean, friendly, professional service. Spacious room, nice bed, bedding and pilllows. Situated between the Lijnbaan en de Coolsingel. Everything is within walking distance. TV connection could use some improvement. A lot of connecting/buffering.

- CHUNG MAN IVAN (10/5): - Great location , very professional and friendly staff that provided caring and attentive arrangements. Walking distance to most point of interest and central station. Restaurant options nearby is decent. Room was kindly upgraded which was clean and decent. Works are ongoing next door, although facing part of the ongoing works but it isn't that noisy in the morning that would have waken us up. Probably putting the curtains down would be good enough if you are concerned with privacy. I would recommend a stay here.

Front desk staff are amazing at providing local guidance. Couple of quirks…..no cloth hanging closets in the rooms and no USB for international travellers. - Robert (10/5): - Location location location! 10 minute walk from the central station, and a 20 minute walk to the cruise terminal! Perfect location for a short stay when getting on a cruise. Add to this a room that is comfy, a nice size and spotless clean. Comfy bed with nice linens, a modern spacious bathroom with a large shower and loads of hot water. Hotel was pretty damned impressive, then add the smiling faces of the friendly staff who were ever eager tor please. Our stay face exceeded our expectations!

We used our bar fridge, coffee maker, kettle and were pleased to find a bottle opener in the room. There was a microwave in the lounge that we used to heat up our meals from the grocery store. The room was quiet for sleeping. Easy walking distance from Central Station and Metro stations as well as many other tourist sites and shopping. Front reception were polite and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

There is a kettle and coffee machine inside the room so it is convenient for us to make coffee & tea every morning. We highly recommend this hotel.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant stay - We stayed for two nights at the James Hotel and were impressed with the room, facilities, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. There was also sufficient staff on duty for the guests they had. The central location was very convenient to all we wanted to see and do in Rotterdam. One thing to note is that it is a busy road outside the hotel and our sleep was disturbed by excessive car honking late at night both on Friday and Saturday nights. Whilst this is outside the control of the James Hotel, it is something to be aware of. And bring ear plugs.

Service was great and staff were very welcoming and accommodating as we arrived early and they let check in rsrly no extra charge.rooms wete great we had a double and twins they were both clean and the bed was very comfy and the shower was really refreshing. The only negative which is not anything the hotel can do was the cars beeping and driving loud and fast up and down the road outside until 2-3am on Friday and zsaturday nights. Overall though we had a wonderful stay and would defo go back again as its very central to everywhere and has so many great restaurants and shops close by.

Our landline didn’t work for the whole time and even we reported the issue, no one came to fix it. The housekeeper never put the slippers tidy. Only 2 set of towel for each person, no bathrobe. The most annoying thing is the pillows. They are too high and no alternatives to change. I have to sleep on my clothes instead.

- Randall (10/5): - We were delayed arriving as the Eurostar from Paris was stuck in the tracks for 6 hours. We arrived finally in Rotterdam at 7am after a crazy long day/night. The staff graciously allowed us to stay in our room till 1pm for much needed sleep. The room was spotless and the beds so comfortable!
