The grounds are in a very quiet and serene setting, wonderful fireplaces throughout the manor and lots of homey touches to keep you occupied. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in the area.

The game room is where my son first learned to play billiard. Everything is beautifully crafted in wood and bricks, making cozy and warm. The owners are kind and welcoming. Highly recommended. We haven’t tried their breakfast because we go skiing before they serve it at 9.

The young lady that checked us in, and cooked us breakfast, was so welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast!!

Within 10 minutes the bed and breakfast called me directly to confirm my arrival time. I informed them that I have small children. The gentleman stated they do not allow children under 5. i did not see this on the listing prior to booking the one night stay. I gave five stars because he was able to quickly help me get a refund even though it was listed as non-refundable.

Instead, you get to experience the warmth and history of a stunning 1920s mountain mansion, surrounded by nature and steeped in Big Bear’s heritage. The breakfast each morning was delicious, the staff was wonderful, and the owner always responded to texts right away. Every detail made us feel cared for. We’re already planning our next visit and would recommend Gold Mountain Manor to anyone wanting to slow down, reconnect with nature, and soak in the authentic Big Bear experience.

Das Gold Mountain Manor ist tatsächlich noch viel schöner als auf den Fotos. Außerdem hat es einen traumhaften Garten mit Vögeln, Streifenhörnchen und einer niedlichen Hasenfamilie. Das frisch zubereitete warme (Überraschungs-)Frühstück , das auf der Veranda serviert wurde, war ebenfalls ein echtes Highlight. Ein besonderer Dank geht auch an Toni, die uns an den beiden Tagen sehr herzlich umsorgt hat. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen, dann aber etwas länger bleiben.

Loved the immaculate cozy room with a great bed, couches, chairs, jacuzzi, and cozy rustic cabin feel. Staff and owners wonderful with excellent gourmet breakfasts. All questions answered with suggestions for activities. and restaurants. Just outside of town, village convenient to walks. restaurants, boating on Big Bear Lake,. beach at Boulder Bay, zoo, mini golf , and more. Glorious weather and huge pine trees. A delightful few days.

- Dave (10/5): Exceptional - 5-Stars across the board. Darrin and Amy have created a homey and welcoming environment. The staff, Cadence and Toni, were so amazing, so nice and helpful. We stayed in Bessie's room and it was lovely. They have thought of everything, from the little things in the rooms to the well stocked (lots of included snacks and hot chocolate) and equiped quest kitchen. The common areas are super nice. Pool table, games and fireplaces. There is plenty of space so you can either hang out with other quests or find a nice alcove to read a book. The grounds are very nice and relaxing to sit on the large deck in the morning. We loved the location. A quiet neighborhood away from the bustle of the village, but only 10 minutes away, with easy (2min) access to some very nice walks in the forest. The breakfast was wonderful. They are very accommodating for dietary restrictions. Definitely worth a stay while in Big Bear. There was nothing I would change.

Highly recommend if you want to get away from the world for the weekend or the week. The lake was beautiful and plenty of things to do around big bear. Toni was so nice and the owner, Darrin was also around and they were so hospitable. Enjoyed playing pool in the billiard room and enjoyed the Clark Gable room despite having the bathroom across the hall! Highly recommend this place for a nice change of pace. We can't wait to go back!

It was so much cooler than Los Angeles, the room was comfortable, cool with a huge restroom and access to various indoor and outdoor areas. The common areas have all the modern amenities and each room is unique and charming. The host provides a delicious homemade breakfast that you don’t want to miss! The only area that I didn’t give a five star was condition. Only due to the fact that the building is nearly 100 years old. Not due to neglect.

Wonderful bed and bedding, magical garden setting at night, quiet area away from the hubbub, delicious breakfast, lots of treats in the guest kitchen that provides a small refrigerator and microwave. Upstairs rooms require walking up narrow steps so anyone with mobility issues will want to stay in a first floor room.

The hosts Darrin and Amy made us so welcome - it felt like staying with old friends. The lodge has a range of beautiful guest areas including a verandah where a delicious breakfast is served each morning and several lounges with lovely comfy sofas - the perfect place to while away a few hours. The garden setting was surrounded by trees and lots of seating areas. Our bedroom - The Clark Gable room - was sumptuous and cosy. Our only regret was that we wished we'd booked a longer stay!
- Sightsee622419 (10/5): Magical lodge stay at Big Bear Lake - An absolutely amazing stay at a truly unique lodge at Big Bear Lake. The hosts Darrin and Amy were so genuinely friendly and welcoming it was as is we were staying with friends. The lodge is beautiful with a range of rooms and living spaces for guests to enjoy. These include a verandah overlooking the garden where a delicious breakfast is served and a large yet cosy lounge with sofas to sink into. We stayed in the Clark Gable room which was traditionally sumptuous but also so cosy - it would be truly magical in winter with the log burner alight. Soak up the afternoon sun in the garden before heading down to the lake for dinner. We loved every minute of our stay - our only regret is that we wished we had booked for longer!
- TWierzbowski (10/5): Love This Place! - My husband and I had a wonderful two-night stay in the Clark Gable room and have since booked the entire house for Christmas this year for the entire family! The house is old but beautiful, very well kept, clean, and has a great history! Every room has a private bathroom which was a nice plus. The morning full breakfast service and food was excellent and was served outside on the large wrap around porch. What a way to start the day! There are snacks and hot coffee/cocoa in the guest kitchen for mid-day (or night) munchies. The Village is a short drive away and the surrounding area is beautiful and fun to explore. The hosts, Darrin & Amy, are wonderful people and live close by. We found them to be very accommodating and quick to respond to any inquiries. Can't wait until Christmas to share this experience with our family! Thank you, Darrin & Amy and your staff!

They love doing what they do and it shows not only in the ambience surrounding us but also in their wanting to make sure that your stay is wonderful and up to par with their standards. Our Cary Grant room was very cozy. Bed and bedding fresh and comfy. A lot of added bonuses too. Bathroom was quaint . Electric Heater was in there along with a warming towel rack that we used during our stay. All details were amazing throughout the home. Firewood available 24/7. My hubby and I highly recommend that you visit this B&B. Thank you so much for your Hospitality.
- Therese (10/5): My first Bed &Breakfast! - We were greeted as soon as we pulled in the lot by Darrin and his friendly dog Jax. It was like family welcoming you in their home. The entire property is cozy, peaceful, and full of beautiful decor and trinkets, The place was built in 1928 so it’s full of history, charm, antique furniture, working wood burning fireplaces downstairs and in your room. The veranda was a nice place to enjoy morning coffee overlooking the snow covered garden. Plenty of outdoor garden to walk around or sit in a rocking swing and enjoy the beautiful pine trees. My husband and I loved exploring the place and also the fact it’s only 10-15 minutes to big bear village. 9a breakfast was delicious, made with love and care. We sat with the other guests there which was nice to meet them and hear about their plans for the day and the next morning see how their adventure went! The place is really a gem and we look forward to staying here again.

- Z9051CDlauras (6/5): Anniversary Getaway - The host, hostess, and staff provide a home away from home atmosphere. This is a large old house with a living room, game room, and mini-kitchen for guests. There are multiple bedrooms upstairs along with a Presidents Room (decor) tucked away in a corner and separate downstairs room. This place is ideal for groups traveling together. We came midweek to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in the Presidents room. One other couple was there our first night in the downstairs room. They woke up early to work, and we could hear their phone calls. So don't stay in the Presidents Room if you want quiet. We supposedly had the place to ourselves the second night. Unfortunately for us, the staff turned over the holiday decorations so we were unable to use the communal space. I would recommend this B&B for a family reunion, group getaway, or wedding. It was not ideal for a romantic couples getaway.
