• Ella (6/5): - Good stay. Can't say much for 3 stars hotel really. Service is good.
• Soheila (6/5): - We stayed at this hotel as a group of six, in three different rooms. The location is wonderful, right on the seafront with an enormous sea view. The atmosphere is nostalgic, old-fashioned, and classic, which we really enjoyed. Parking was available with an overnight charge and proved very convenient. The small swimming pool and hot tub were well preserved and pleasant to use. Staff were welcoming and friendly, which made us feel at home. Overall, the hotel gave us the impression of stepping back into the 1980s in a charming way. The only real issue was with our room (number 30). While our friends’ rooms on the first floor were well accommodated, our second-floor room was less comfortable. The old-fashioned furniture can be part of the charm, but in this case the bed and bed sheets felt very dated and not entirely clean. The coloured rug on the floor also seemed worn and unclean. The shower was the most problematic feature, with very low water pressure and a faulty mixer tap. Unfortunately, this made it difficult to rest comfortably overnight. It’s worth noting that this seemed to be specific to our room, the others were fine, but room 30 would benefit from some updates and redecoration to match the otherwise positive experience of the hotel.
• Paul (2/5): Shocking hotel!! - Staff were ignorant never spoke or said please /thank you , pushed passed us in the lift on our day of leaving as they couldn’t wait for me to take the case out the lift , hotel was run down needing a massive makeover , lift was something out of the 1940’s with sliding metal doors to enter and exit , furniture in room was dated back to the 1980,s and the shower and cubical was a joke there was hardly any water pressure for the shower and the cubical would fit a small child only not a full grown adult .in the bar the larger was on offer , I know why now as it was awful, probably passed its sell by date .beds and pillows were awful like sleeping on a stone slab , I have thrown better pillows away ! This hotel was not cheap and with hindsight I wouldn’t have booked it , should charge no more the £70-80 per night in my opinion as we stayed at a better hotel the night before with breakfast for less than we payed here, My option give this hotel a big miss!!
• Peter (2/5): - On arrival, the receptionist seemed to have a negative attitude and was far from welcoming. Two nights booked and paid in advance, but left after one. I never read the bit about paying to park (£5 per night) or breakfast. No fan in the bedroom, but could upgrade for an additional £60. We have stayed in many Torbay hotels over the last 40 years, but will never return to this one.
• graham (10/5): - The first room we were given was not up to 3 star standard. We contacted reception the next morning and they were very considerate and we were offered an alternative room that was more acceptable. The location, food and the staff were excellent. We hope to return.
• kerry (10/5): - Staff were fantastic, could not do more to help you. Food was lovely. Room was very basic, but clean, only thing I would suggest is to place fans in the room as it was extremely hot. Other than that I would stay there again.

• Ann (8/5): Nice location, comfortable stay - Care to spot the entrance to the hotel is needed, as the road is busy. The hotel is comfortable. We had a problem finding the room, as the numbers of the rooms aren’t sequential. It would be useful to be told that when checking in as it was confusing. We attended a concert and it was lovely to have a room and avoid an hour’s drive home afterwards.

• Alexandra (8/5): Lovely stay, but Sauna not as advertised - We booked this quite spontaneous and last minute. We arrived around 9 pm and the reception checked us in pretty swiftly and pointed us towards the room. The main areas of the hotels have quite a rustic feel to it, however the rooms were fairly modern - thought the oil Painting with the food and lobster made me giggle Only thing that I did find negative was that the hotel was advertised as having a sauna - which is the reason we booked it. But the sauna was hidden away in the secret squash arena, and did NOT look like the picture on hotels.com. It worked fine, but it was tiny, no windows and let the heat out quite quickly. Additionally, it was basically impossible to find, and we needed a member of staff to take us there Overall i found this really funny, but I don't think you should advertise it as a facility of the hotel - especially with the current picture
• Giles (10/5): - We stayed at Livermead House while attending a special event. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Recommended.

• Brian (8/5): - The staff were great. The property is fantastic, there is scaffolding on the back of the building where but you hardly know there is work going on. We enjoyed our breif stay, and will stay again, and when we do, it will not be booked through Expedia.
• Sally (8/5): - Great staff very accommodating & very helpful. Rooms were small but ample size as didnt plan to stay in all day & room looked as if it had been recently painted. Too cold for the pool when we stayed but did jump in the hot tub & sauna. Definitely would stay here again

• Charlotte (10/5): Lovely 1 night stay - We had a lovely 1 night stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming . Room had a lovely view though was a little tired looking. But was still very clean and comfortable. It was nice that they dont charge extra for parking and there was plenty of space. When we asked if we could takr breakfast in the room, the staff were so lovely and brought it to us. Pool was refreshing - we didn't feel rushed to leave. Would definitely visit this hotel again.

• Rich (10/5): Unbelievable personal attention. Thanks! Thanks! - This staff treated us like family. The manager helped us get medical care, even loaned us his personal phone. The night manager supplied us with ice to handle pain. Dinner was amazing. All staff, including the kitchen staff and chefs, literally stood outside to wave goodbye to the seniors on the buses every day!!

• Paul (6/5): Breakfast not great - Room was small but comfortable. The bathroom steamed up very quickly with the shower as the air vent didnt seem to be working. Went down for breakfast and the tables were very very close together. Was seated and told someone would be over to take our order. Think they forgot as waited 15 mins for someone to come. When the breakfast arrived (full english) the grilled tomato was very hard and over cooked (couldve been used as a puck) and the mushrooms were black and over cooked.

I had a double room which just about fitted the bed in, the bathroom was equally as small. I won’t be staying here again that’s for sure, I’d rather book a premier inn for a lot less money….

• Sebastjanas (10/5): uthe heritage hotel, recommended - It’s a great hotel, really enjoyed, delicious food, good size portions, good value for money. Needs some refurbishing, but very authentic heritage hotel. Brilliant service from house keeping and catering staff. Special thanks to spanish girl from the bar (sorry don’t remember the name). Reception staff could do better, only young lady was personable and helpful. Definitely would return.
• Andrew (8/5): Three Night Solo Break - Really nice public areas. My single room was small but clean and perfectly adequate with a double bed. Good bar food. Young female european staff were particularly delightful. I had several excellent vegetarian breakfasts. Minor disappointments were the low shower pressure and poor wifi in the public areas, though it was fine in my room. One episode irritated me and stayed with me all weekend. Shortly after arrival I asked at reception for a pen. The man at reception grudgingly passed me one miserably commenting “Can you make sure you give it back, they’re like gold dust round here.” This raises two comments. Firstly, front line staff should not be so bloody miserable. Secondly, why do the management compromise the efficient running of a quite large hotel by the lack of availability of a 10p biro which many hotels leave free in the rooms? In summary I had a most enjoyable stay and the hotel is excellent value for money.
• john (8/5): un planned stop over. - Its fair to say the building is old almost 50+ years old however while cleaning is reasonably good, the interior including beds are a little past its sell by date and in need of upgrade. Staff are friendly and food of excellent quality.

• Stewart (8/5): Good time away - The hotel was very good, dated in places but served its purpose well. In the bar for instance, you often had to wait a very long time to be served due to the limited number of staff working. I feel it needs to update and become more in line with the current times
• Verified traveler (6/5): - Excellent breakfast and good spacious public areas inside and out.Our corner standard room was small and had inadequate ventilation due to windows being sealed shut whilst the limited openers were insecure due to handles and fasteners requiring repair.

• Jm (10/5): Reat hotel you wont be dissapointed. - Only stayed the one night sadly..wish it had been longer.. An old fashioned hotel with a warm welcome..if you fancy a special stay stepping back in time you wont be dissapointed.. a friendly welcome by staff in tailed coats and finery and plenty of happy staff going the extra mile to say hello and cleaning day and night to keep everything hygenic was very reassuring...room 11 had sea and pool view with corner bath and also shower.

• Janice (4/5): Loved Torquay but not this hotel - Room 44 - fantastic view. Now the negatives. Intermittent WiFi Shower took ages to get hot but once hot stayed hot despite turning dial from 7 down to 1 - no difference whatsoever. Also low pressure and shower head needed replacing or at least descaling. Blankets in this day and age !! Takes approx 30 minutes to talk into town - get a taxi at £6.00. Be back before 11 or 11.30 as doors locked and you have to wait for the grumpy night porter to let you in. Basically we will not be returning. Overpriced in my opinion for the service and condition of hotel.
• Greville (6/5): Short stay at The Livermead House Hotel. - Hotel a bit dated. Furniture well worn in lounge area. Bedroom-TV only had about 6 channels, no information on programmes, no Electronic Programme Guide, no Freeview, poor picture, very old set. Mattress a bit thin with a hard base. Room which was supposed to be with sea view, looked out onto lawn and car park, if you crained your neck to the left you could see the sea! Room clean with usual tea/coffee making items, with biscuits. Breakfast good, (staff friendly and efficient. Very convenient for local facilities, buses etc. WiFi reception poor in any area except bar area. None in room.
• Verified traveler (10/5): I will be staying again - The hotel was good The food was really good at breakfast & dinner Good choices to suit most people The staff throughout the hotel were attentive helpful & cheery.Good public transport &short walk from rail station .The hotel & room was very clean HoweverI feel that although all decor was clean the hotel feels dated This would possibly suit the main ages of the visitors however I will recommend &will stay again.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - The property was in a reasonably good location by the seaside and the building character full. Staff were attentive and the room was nice. Breakfast was average. Unfortunately we were on the third floor and the lift was broken which made it a little painful on my dodgy knee going up & down the stairs. The room was very hot though a fan was provided on request. Shower box was rather small & water pressure not very good.
