Guest Reviews
- 126lim (2/5): Pass - I had booked this getaway months prior through a 3rd party as I normally have done in the past. Weeks prior, I began receiving emails to make a payment to secure my reservation (wasn't stated on the site at the time of booking, although I prepaid through the 3rd party) . The email advised that it was due to numerous cancelations they recvd (due to instability in the country, and travel) the biggest red flag was that the payment was non refundable. I've had flights canceled due emergency bans, there is no way I could risk losing a grand over it. Nothing in their email states that the reservation would be canceled, just that they tend to overlook and regardless of reservation, it's first come first serve basis.
Well my reservation was canceled the day before without any notice. No email, the 3rd party still showed it active on their end. While at the church in desk I was accused of ignoring the cancelation email that was never sent to me. I was told that I should've just made the payment then later called them for a refund if I had to cancel although email states otherwise. My room was given to someone else the day prior. The receptionist laughed at us finding it absurd that we didn't see the invisible email even after I showed the 3rd party site still showing everything was active.
I was left without a place to stay and scrambling to find a hotel as the staff looked on and talked about us.
I asked for a manager, to which I was told, wouldn't be there till later that night. When I asked to call the manager I was then told that the manager was not in the country. I've never been so disappointed in my life at the lack of customer service I've received.
Fortunately for this helped me to broaden my horizons and discover that Haiti has way better places to stay than Satama, I'm grateful at this point, I will never spend a dime there again.
- isaaca529 (2/5): Waste of money! Not worth the view - Do not fall for the pics posted up! I booked through the site months in advance with a credit card. A few weeks before my trip they said my booking wasn't confirmed and I had to Zelle the payment! The worst customer service ive ever had at a hotel! And the cost was high ($165/ night) The room was sub par at best. My AC was constantly making noise and I had to reach out multiple times. There was consistently noone at the front desk. And you would not be greeted with warmth or a smile. I had to email the Supervisor multiple times. The breakfast was terrible and almost the same everyday. Smh. As I checked out, there was a phantom charge of $11.05. When I asked where it came from there was no billing or receipt of a transaction. Restaurant food was sub par and the pool was not clear. The location is high up and not near anything! Aside from the view, there is nothing this hotel offers! Book somewhere else!
- 615robinn (6/5): Don't Turn on the Bathroom Lights Late Night or Early Morning - Room 103. The room was partially clean. The table tops were not. When we showered water was all over the floor. We were there for 6 it's. July 1 thr 7 2025. Late night early morning July 4 to 5 I wet to the bathroom turned on the light and saw 2 roaches. Same thing Satyrday ight the day before checkout only there were a few more. I closed up our suitcases. When we checked out I reported it to the front desk. The front desk reply: "We are sorry about that." Also the hotel does not provide pool towels and has a $12 fee for room service. I never heard from management or anyone else from the hotel regarding the roaches in the bathroom.
- K9911EVmarcol (6/5): Stay at Satama Hotel - PROs;
Good location, big rooms, friendly staff, nice view of the city, very clean swimming pool, stable wi-fi.
CONs:
Basic breakfast, elevators do not work, limited options at restaurant, POS for payment with credit card at restaurant do not work.
- beckyrose10 (4/5): Friday the 13th - Upon arrival, this was a nightmare. We waited for our room only for it to be filthy. We told the front desk that we would need another room. Safe and phone were not working and had to get another one. Finally the third room was acceptable but the safe was not working. We asked them if they could fix it and they told us that the technician to fix the safe would come in at 8 AM. Promptly, at 8 AM we go to the desk and ask for someone to fix our safe as we had an excursion booked. We were told that the person was now coming at 9:30. We were frustrated and asked why the times keep changing and if she could call the employee. She calls him and lo and behold, he was in the building the entire time and she was lying because we watched him come out of the elevator. The concierge woman (never got her name but she was the only woman and she had brown curly hair) was so rude and passive aggressive, her first answer to any reasonable request was no. She was more focused on her cell phone than actually doing her job, anytime I walked up to the desk she would be looking down at her phone. The constant sighs and passive aggression were so frustrating. Property was beautiful but customer service was lacking. We had to stand up and ask for our own menus at the restaurant, it felt like we were begging for customer service the entire time. Overall, I would probably stay at another hotel. The glitz and glamour of this hotel faded immediately once I walked in and spoke to the concierge. This was my first time back to my country in 9 years and my friend’s first time in 22 years and this hotel almost discouraged us from coming back.
- safetripshaiti (10/5): Satama Hotel Experience - Satama Hotel features a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a bar and garden. They have good services with a good staff. It is located in Cap-Haitien from the mountain around Carénage. Satama is one of the best place to stay in Cap-Haitien🇭🇹
- christopherlX1301FV (6/5): the details make all the difference between a luxurious hotel and a suitable one. - Satama Hotel:
registered for two days. no cable in the room and a recurrent loud noise coming from the AC drainage pump located in the bathroom shower, and this from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. (time slots allowed to run the AC) on an approximately 10-minute cycle. When asked to change rooms, the front deck advises that ALL rooms are in the same predicament as far as the TV cable Satama being delinquent on their satellite cable company bill. These, in my view, are unacceptable issues that need to be addressed. The overall look of the hotel is nice, but at this price, the details make all the difference between a luxurious hotel and a suitable one.
- Haisha Ann-Lindsay (10/5): - Absolutely amazing. I have nothing bad to say about Satama. Everything was beyond my expectations! I will definitely be coming back! Okap Lakayan m !!!!
- arlene (10/5): - What a spectacular stay and place. I appreciate being able to have this experience at such a well maintained place in Okap. The receptionist was incredibly kind, the food was delicious, the drinks were lovely, housekeeping was meticulous, and the room was wonderful. I deeply enjoyed my stay and high recommend this oasis in the mountains. The view is impressive. Thank you for being so wonderful.
- Yokiviah (10/5): - Nice, the menu was limited for breakfasts which I wasn’t impressed by , I heard so much about how refreshing and rotation of new foods daily was served but the same thing was given daily.
- Isaac (8/5): - I like the panoramic view. However, customer service needs to improve, and the menu presentation at the pool bar. Just two or three sheets of white paper.
- Verified traveler (4/5): No hot water, no a/c! - This is supposed to be a high-end hotel. However, they are limiting the hours that guest can run the a/c unit in there rooms and while we were there they had no hot water because of a broken part. For the price you pay to stay here this is unacceptable. The food and staff were good though.
- Wagner (10/5): - I enjoyed my 10 day stay and will return.
- RIGOBERT (4/5): - Lack of maintenance!!! Poor quality in rooms...
- Stanley (10/5): - Safe
- Fabiola (10/5): - I enjoyed breakfast every morning
- Fabiola (8/5): - I will be back again, and again
- Agnes (10/5): - Staffs were very nice and friendly. Food was excellent, from breakfast to dinner.
- Myrtha (8/5): - .
- Gregory (10/5): - The friendly professional service of the staff.
- Rolande (10/5): - The hotel was very beautiful and high tech. They embrace the natural beauty of Haiti to build this hotel in the mountains. Thank you for providing us with stelar service.
- Moses (10/5): Great get a way - Had a great time. I arrive early and they still accommodate me and my son at check. It was fast and smooth. The Resturant had some of the best food I could eat. The bar service all the way to the pool and lounging area. Truly a great experience. I would update some stuff in the room. Shower heads and setting chair and desk chair. But over all great. Each morning hot fresh breakfast.
- Jean (10/5): - Place is beautiful, i love it the rooms are spacious and very comfortable, clean. Driving to the top of the hill is a little scary 😨 but the hotel is great.
- Adelson (2/5): - It was very bad
- Islande (4/5): - The property is gorgeous I’m not going to take this away from it. Nice view overlooking the city. However the road could have been done. I was with a baby and every time we have to take this road in and out of the hotel I felt like my life was in danger. The ac was not running during day time which was horrible for my baby. The elevator was not working. I had to carry my heavy bag 3 stairs down. My sink was clogged every day I had to tell someone to come fix it. My balcony door couldn’t close even though I told the front desk. They disregarded all of the complaints. Not going back definitely. For your money yon don’t get the service . Overall property is hot because no central air. I had to leave the hotel everyday and just come back to sleep when Ac was on in the room.
- Melande (4/5): - The room had roaches in it, other than that the hotel is good.
- shiela (2/5): - The road is so dangerous. There is pot holes in the street going up to the hotel. I had to change my room 3 times, the elevator wasn't working
I'm 5 months pregnant and high risk, so the stairs was very dangerous for me. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Luckner (10/5): - Very nice people
- evnisha (6/5): - The property was nice but needs a hand full of maintenance. The front desk staff & housekeepers were nice , but the other staff mainly food and beverage staff was terrible. It felt like they were doing me favors instead of the job as if they didn’t want to be there.
- Ronel (10/5): - I loved the service,high quality
- Thony (6/5): - The hill is will bad when you go to the mountains
- Yokiviah (10/5): - Great time, friendly staff, super clean and efficient
- Christelle (10/5): - The view was magical. I loved it.
- Stephane (8/5): - I would definitely go back
- W (6/5): - the hotel has a beautiful view of the city. The pool is nice, staff is nice. but the food is expensive, takes too long. The road that leads to Satama is not paved all the way n unsafe. The hotel should have paved the road and barricade it.
- Farah (10/5): - Absolutely gorgeous property with modern feel. The restaurant serves great food and Eve better drinks. There is daily breakfast which was also delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back 10/10 recommend!
- Bendy (10/5): - Very nice and clean
- angela (10/5): - Very good service and facilities.. staff are well trained!
- Matchomil (10/5): - So far so good I like
- Maggie (2/5): - The management team did not extend a warm welcome to their guests. The rooms were infested with roaches. Could not get enough towels to accommodate guests. Will never go back and will not recommend it to other people.
- Merlene (10/5): - The staff are very nice and pleasant but the responsible or co manager, owner not nice at all . They walking around not even saying good morning or hello how's everything going. And also in the dining lounge there is 3 fans in there they need to throw them away . Very rousting.
- Luc (10/5): - Very nice place to stay. They must fix the road to make it more drivable, for safe driving.
- Guenson (2/5): - I made a reservation 3 weeks ago when I arrived at the hotel they told me. The room is not yet available, I spent more than 4 hours waiting for the woman to prepare. after I found out that the room had no towels, when I asked for towels, they said that the towels were not washed. It was the worst experience of my life
- Rosarion (8/5): - the food is so yummy there, and the view from the hotel is unique.
- KIKI (10/5): - Beautiful property! Excellent staff!
- Sabrina (10/5): Ayiti cherie - Loved our visit staff great and accommodating. Breakfast was fresh and hot daily. Will definitely be returning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - But I mean much more better the pillow were not comfortable the shower while you bathing the water will not go away the sink the water was overflowing and the toilet seat I think for a certain people it's kind of too low but we're young so we did it otherwise it was fair
- Samuel (10/5): - The property is nice and clean, but the road to go up to the Hotel is dangerous because of the mountain is too high
- Fritz (10/5): - Clean
- Geraldine (10/5): - Great hotel and awesome services 👌
- Stanley (10/5): - Service
- Jordany Steevenson (10/5): - Everything was great and amazing there
- Katricia (10/5): - Everything
- Samentha Joyce (8/5): - The hotel has an amazing view and super clean. The hot chocolate was amazing. I just wish they added smoked herring or the Haitian hotdogs in the pasta
- Peterson (6/5): - In the bathroom need to fix the floor. When you're showering, water gets all over the place. Need to put a door on the shower.
- Yvan (10/5): - I am a regular in Cap Haitien but my normal hotel was fully booked, I took a chance and ended up staying an extra two nights
- Mat (10/5): - Great staff.
- Ebony (2/5): Wouldn’t stay - The bathroom are full of mold, erosion to the pipe there’s no hot water.
The picture online look Ntn like the room.
There’s no AC in the day time due to gas shortage. The price of the food vs what you get is outrages
I ordered a burger one day and found hair in my patty. From that day I didn’t eat at the hotel again
This hotel shouldn’t be 4 stars
The lobby and dining room are great
The view is beautiful
Everything on the outside of the hotel looks great but they need to re do the rooms:
Paint the rooms
restructure the bathrooms
the chair in the room has a old cover on it
Just not what you expect when you book a 4 star / 8.3 rating hotel
- Lanise (10/5): - Like
- Kesler (6/5): Great experience - The hotel was very nice and spotless. The staff was very friendly and professional The food was excellent. I asked for more water and they didn’t have it. They only gave us 2 bottles of water daily. The water was not enough .
- Kattie (8/5): - It's a beautiful modern hotel, you get a beautiful view of the city from the hotel. The road to get to the hotel is unsafe, if you are afraid of heights good luck. The restaurant food is amazing. There's no hot water, extremely disappointing for the amount of money they charge per night.
- Joseph (8/5): - Love the location of the property.
It wasn’t the Conrad or the ritz Carlton but by far one of the best locations that I’ve found so far in Haiti.
The few alone is worth a thousand words.
The one down size is paying the hotel shuttle about $17 USD To take you to the airport.
Came around $86 USD for 5 of us
- tengang (8/5): It was amazing - My stay at Santama was enjoyable the staff were helpful at receptionist. They were very pleasant Jean Max and Frandy was very professional. I will definitely will be returning and I would encourage people to come there. See you soon lovely night at Santama. The food was lovely well prepared.
- Sabrina (10/5): - Enjoyed my time at Satama. Beautiful hotel and staff. I would book again.
- mireusen (10/5): Family trip - I enjoyed everything.
The customer service was on point.
The cleaning, the view, safety.
I would definitely recommend and would visit again.
Cons: I called multiple times to do the reservation and no one answered. I was not able to do it online either. It was about $60 more in the hotel.
The receptionist I guess had a bad night.
- Launise (10/5): - Beautiful establishment, thank you so much for the hospitality. We truly enjoy our stay. Thank you k
- Marc (8/5): - The hotel was clean. I like that it was secluded. The staff was pleasant, enjoyable, and willing to assist. We didn't get any assistance with our luggages when we checked out. The front desk never had any change, which made it extremely difficult to tip the staff.
- Christian Steve (10/5): - The view
- Anderson (8/5): - Nice place
- Mazard (2/5): - The only thing about this location is the view.
Some of the staff is very nice most likely the night crew understand what customer service should be.
this is my first time at this Satama hotel, AC was leaking. And Water was everywhere in my room and guess what they have the audacity to tell me well um, we can’t really change your room because we have no room available at this moment, and was not true. I was very upset, also had some activity to do.
When I get back the night crew was Oh no problem let me get that fixed for you as soon as possible.
The young lady that work the front desk in the morning does not look like she want to be at work. All all I’m saying is I will never come back to this hotel due to poor service the appliances is not what it look like online, I travel a lot. This is the first time I have to experience this in my entire time traveling. If I need towel I have to exchange the two to towels that I already used before they can give me more towels and they don’t even have washing towel. At night time the is a noise that came out of the bathroom and keep beeping, and that make it very hard for me to fall asleep sleep.
My first time and my last time at satama
- terry (10/5): - Good
- Carine (8/5): - Good looking premises with an exceptional view. Rooms are very comfortable at international standard level. Just missed a quiet spot, and a bit of shade by the otherwise stunning pool
- sandy (10/5): 1st vacation of 2023 - The overall experience was beautiful
- Harris (8/5): - This hotel is beautiful. Located on a mountain and over looking the entire city and bay of Cap-Haitien.
Likes: Beautiful landscaping, grounds and clean rooms, Modern Hotel and nice pool. Secluded and quiet. Complimentary Breakfast everyday. Restaurant and Bar. The food was good. Special Shout out to Junior the waiter at the bar who found my credit card at the pool and returned it to me. You saved me a lot of headache. The cleaning staff is awesome, thank you ladies.
Dislikes: The pool water was a little cloudy but they eventually had someone to come and clean the pool water by day 3 of my stay. The food was delicious but the portions where kind of small for the price. My only real dislike was that the hotel allows the wait staff to take pictures of your Identification Card, Debit Card along with your bar bill with their cell phones as proof that you purchased food at the Hotel bar. This is along with me using my debit card and entering my pin to pay for the food. This is a bad business practice and made me feel very uncomfortable that someone has my information in there PERSONAL cell phone. This made me feel very uncomfortable.
- joel bekenson (6/5): - Clean, Peaceful area to be but beware staffs attitude and limited dinning options specially Breakfast
- Daphlin (10/5): - The property sits high in the mountains in a secluded but intriguing area with the best view of the city. Very clean and very safe area
- Rose-linde (8/5): - Great service the waiters were amazing
- Genesisisluv (10/5): Absolutely beautiful and amazing, Hotel - The veiw upon arrival is breathtaking. And the architecture of the hotel is amazing. I was unsure about the hotel because of the mixed reviews and the delayed responsiveness of the management staff online. But, during my stay, it appears as if the staff reads all the reviews and actively corrects them. The staff on site were incredibly helpful and friendly.
The hotel is lovely, so many spots to chill and enjoy the weather and view.
The food at breakfast was excellent. I also enjoyed eating at the pool bar, since they serve until 10pm. The food was a executed excellently. Compliments to the Chef. You can taste the skill and soul. Would recommend and return. I only wish they had a vending machines for after midnight snacks and drinks.
- James (4/5): - NO HOT WATER! My family and I were forced to bathe in cold water every day which is ridiculous especially for the price we paid! If you have children don’t bring them they won’t like bathing in cold water, the pool is not cleaned or filtered probably or to regulation and there is nothing to do except eat and drink. Bring change singles and coins because the property definitely won’t have change so the customer is always shorted a dollar!
- Roderson (10/5): - Staff do their job, but most of them were not friendly!
- Jesse (10/5): - I love every moment! Best hotel in town.
- RunningRick76 (10/5): Second time here, won't stay anywhere else in Cap Haitian - There is a lot to unpack here with this hotel...five stories, built to withstand an earthquake, gift shop, pool, restaurant, conference rooms and great views! Daily room changes and a staff that goes out of their way even though I sometimes...sometimes have unreasonable requests and demands. I especially love the chefs and staff who prepare the food, breakfast is always a highlight, and my dinner favorite this trip was cashew chicken with white rice, and creole sauce on the side.. Delicious!
Thank you to the management who helped out with all our bookings and request with the conference room. I know things are difficult in Haiti right now so I appreciate all the effort.
- Fabiola (10/5): - The food was adequate. I preferred to eat out everyday. The facilities were clean and inviting. I regret not enjoying the pool.
- Shinydine (8/5): - The view is amazing ..will definitely come back ❤️❤️
- Joseph (8/5): - It was a nice property but clean cleanliness could improve such as clean curtains, bathroom and even amenities like pool umbrellas weren’t available. Overall, it’s a beautiful place with a great view of the city as well as the ocean. It felt safe to be there. Enjoyed the pool with bar/restaurant access on the first floor.
- saint juste (10/5): - Very professional staff all around love every one of them
- Rachelle (10/5): - The breakfast staffs were amazing! Breakfast was great every morning. Front desks staff we're good as well. Junior at the pool bar was exceptional. Amazing stay and it was safe.
- Adeline Andre (10/5): The best hotel in Cap Haitian - I brought two visitors with me , they love the hotel . They’re not Haitian , they can wait to go back there . We had the best of the best services there . I highly recommend this hotel . You guys won’t regret it . It worth every single dollar spending there . The restaurant is really affordable by the way
- Rolda (2/5): - The one queen bedroom need to renovate.
- Marjorie (10/5): - It's a great place, i will definitely recommend it to others
- Claudie (6/5): - They were mold in the shower
- Jacquelin (6/5): - It’s ok
- Manielie (10/5): - The only thing I didn’t like was the road to get there so scary
- Bethany (10/5): - Beautiful view of Cap Haitian. Staff was helpful and nice. Pool was clean and pretty. So glad we stayed here!
- Joanne (8/5): - The hotel is beautiful! Location is great but not easily accessible, roads are not finished.
- Myrtha (10/5): - This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! I’ll definitely be returning again. Great staff, service, room, and view!
- Stanley (6/5): - The view was wonderful. The food taste good. But Management not friendly, they do not have a large variety of food for breakfast. Just 1 or 2 options. For 7 days there, they always came to clean my room late afternoon. Not enough room supplies provided.
- Myrtha (6/5): - The human resources (Staff of all capacity) were impeccable. They went above and beyond to accommodate the shortcomings of the property.
We had a total of three (3) rooms, each room needed some type of repairs, i.e., towel racks falling off the wall; the bathroom ceiling is peeling into the shower, the room lights don't work properly, etc...
- ANDRELLE (10/5): - The service was outstanding
