Guest Reviews
- Brandi (10/5): Great place and great price. Staff was very nice and friendly. - Clean, quiet and comfortable
- Randall (8/5): - This is a good value but the low price is balanced by a tired appearance. That combination works for me.
Friendly and helpful staff.
- Patricia (8/5): -
- marc (8/5): Suffisant pour 1 nuit - Rapport qualité prix imbattable, literie confortable
Pour 1 nuit parfait Pas de petit déjeuner et hôtel situé dans une zone quelconque
- Dale (8/5): - The rooms are very nice they were clean the bathrooms were great
- Hodnett (8/5): -
- Donna (10/5): - All the staff were very accommodating. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We would stay here again.
- Becky (2/5): - I called multiple times and left messages. I also text the phone number given and was never contacted. I was attempting to amend my stay. No one has ever contacted me.
- crystal (1/5): -
- Juliane (6/5): - Der Ort edgemont hat wenig zu bieten. Das Motel war aber okay für den Preis. Nichts besonderes, aber für eine Nacht vollkommen okay.
- Louise (10/5): - The gym was amazing. Clean room and quiet location.
- Melissa (6/5): - Requested a queen room in my reservation- that was not a queen bed. Room was small. Not a lot of choices in Edgemont so for one night, for the price- it was fine.
- Michael (8/5): - Small room but fine for one person
- Teri (10/5): Great service and clean! - I had a nice stay here. Checking in ahead of time online was easy, my room was very clean and I very much appreciate that!! The property is a little older, don’t expect everything to be without some signs of wear and use, but that wasn’t a problem. The rooms and property are neat and tidy. Cleanliness is what’s most important!! I didn’t have any issues during my stay, I slept well and was safe and comfortable.
I also left something behind in my room, and was able to talk to the manager who responded immediately, found my missing item, and was completely willing to ship it back to me right away! I so appreciate her kindness, consideration, and willingness to step in right away and help. Very pleasant stay all the way around, I will stay here again next time I need to be in the area!!
- Jack (5/5): -
- Catherine (6/5): Basic stay site in a remote part of the state - The bed was extremely tall, which was odd for an accessible room. I booked an accessible room but wasn’t given one initially. Staff changed the room assignment. There were signs everywhere from the management apologizing that they didn’t have this, didn't have that. Why not be honest in your ad in the first place. It gave off a bait and switch feel to the stay.
- George (10/5): Michelson trails end - Shower, comfy bed
- Raymond (10/5): - The manager and employees were extremely friendly and accommodating.
- CARLA (8/5): - Nice restaurant in town.
- Jerry (8/5): - Would have preferred having fresh towels without having to request them.
- Nola (1/5): Never received refund - No one at the front desk, no one answers the phone, cancelled in person the day I reserved and they marked it as a no show a couple days later. Never received refund.
- Tusjant (9/5): -
- oswald (8/5): -
- dustin (6/5): Tiny bed, tiny room - Booked a queen room, given a double bed. Kids slept on the floor, but expected much larger room, I mean a normal sized room. This room was so small there was no room for sleeping bags.
- Tonya (8/5): - It was clean and comfortable. Don’t go expecting a huge room, because they are not, but it’s fine when you just need sleep.
- DUBAN (6/5): - Very old … good staff …
- Linsey (8/5): Very good - This was booked specifically as a cheaper option to overpriced hotels. We got exactly what we paid for and it was perfect for a no frills stay. About an hour from Custer National Park, Mount Rushmore, etc. which was just fine! There is a limited selection of food in town, but there is a restaurant next door.
- Cara (6/5): Cheap and easy for the Mickelson trail. Nothing fancy. - It’s right on the Mickelson trail. Tiny room, no breakfast, no fitness center.
- Teresa (7/5): Good -
- Patrick (10/5): Great stay - Very nice stay, the staff is very friendly, and very close to the Edgemont trailhead.
- Robert (8/5): - Not much around the property, no breakfast included, and no nearby options. But the room was nice and the AC on cool when I arrived, so that was a plus.
- Paul (6/5): - Had to wait 45 minutes before someone showed up so I could check in but it was a very hot day and the lobby was cool so I really didn’t mind. Room was VERY small but quiet and comfortable. Everything you need to get cleaned up, relax and recharge was there and worked great for
- Denise (6/5): It gets the job done. Clean but no charm or food. - At the beginning of the George Mickelson Trail, so handy for shuttle pick up. It's a little rundown. Door didn't close right and the rooms are small but it did the job. They had several signs saying "no breakfast"and there is no breakfast in town. Would be nice to offer something to the guests besides coffee. And they didn't have the correct type of coffee bag/keurig cup for the coffee maker, so you have to walk to the gas station to get that. Which is next door.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Pam (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (10/5): Cost effective and very clean. - Rooms are basic accommodations -- small with limited amenities. But...
Our room was exceptionally clean and the price was more than fair.
Would book again.
- Armando (7/5): Good -
- Douglas (7/5): Good -
- Julie (8/5): - you can walk to main street which has a couple of restaurants
- Dang (9/5): Nice budget hotel - Cleaness None
- Sydni (10/5): - Wonderful staff, was very accommodating for the small town!
- Christopher (7/5): Served the purpose to sleep comfortably - Good place to get some rest It was only a place to rest. No amenities
- sang (6/5): Good deal - For the price is a good deal.
- TYLER (4/5): - Small rooms. Clean. Good for one night. Basic but all you need at a very low price.
- George (6/5): - GPS took us to the wrong location. No breakfast, even though it was advertised. That needs to be corrected on the website. They were apologetic about breakfast. Free water bottles in the Mini fridge. Nice folks.
- Rosanna (2/5): No Customer Service At The Desks! - The stay was ok, probably will not stay at the place again.
-No person at the front desks to check us in had to wait a while to be serve until my husband found a person outside to figure out whose working at the front desks. The girl outside came to get the woman who works at the front desk.
-No person at the front desks when we tried to check out had to leave the key at the front desks, I think the person was smoking outside. Not sure if anyone cares about giving good customer service, since no one was working at the front desks. I hope whoever comes back at the desks knows that we are checked out.
- No one answered the phone cause thier was no one at the desks.
-if you stay here just to sleep expects no customer service and you will see men eating in the dining room, which I assume is a dining room. Expect no one to help you to check in or check out and expect to wait a while.
- John (8/5): Very good - Clean No hair dryer
- Gary (5/5): Passable -
- Daniel (5/5): Passable - decent place to stay. no help at desk to check in. other people who were staying helped find workers. will not be my 1st choice to stay
- Kaye (9/5): Superb -
- Taras (5/5): Passable -
- Todd (10/5): - great value clean and comfortable
- Gravett (10/5): Exceptional -
- rpowel967583 (10/5): Edgemont a gem, Travelodge a great choice - Recommend. Safe, clean, friendly. When in the area next will stay there. Food was great at the restaurant, good value, etc
- Yuriy (8/5): Nice - Nice motel. Huge gym and free bottled water.
- Marcia (7/5): Good - Staff was friendly and helpful. Loud air conditioning and blew out lots of cold. Bed was okay. Liked being in smaller town.
- Mary (6/5): Convenient stop onnour trip & good value - Very clean Very old & dated
- Jordan (8/5): - Clean and quiet
- MARK (6/5): Nothing fancy - Very basic. Caters to RR workers. Room very small but clean.
- Sarah (8/5): Great place to stay in Edgemont - This was a great place to stop in Edgemont after riding the George Mickelson Trail! The rooms are cozy, but location is great--right next to a large gas station that has lots of groceries. I would stay here again! Sinks are not in the bathroom. Not a big deal, but not something I expected.
- Mary (5/5): Passable - Convenient to our next stop We were wondering why there was no information about Mt Rushmore when it's only a half hour away in your state 🙄
- Janelle (10/5): Great value - Friendly service, clean room, nice stay for a night
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandra (9/5): Good Value for the area - Great place to stop fro a visit to Mt Rushmore, good value for money nothing
- David (10/5): - Convince to the Black hills
- Verified traveler (8/5): Surprise Budget Stay - Worked for what we needed, a quick last minute booking switch. Cleaner than I was expecting, which was nice. Not a comfort pick but definitely appreciated the cleanliness above all.
- Markku (6/5): - Basic accomodation, no frils, clean and quiet.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Friendly staff with recommendations for local dining.
- alvin (10/5): - It was all around great. I had a good sleep and price was good
- Stephen (10/5): - The room was described as small by the staff person upon checkin, and that the rooms are not from their motel on google, but I found my room to be quite satisfactory for a solo traveler. Not many businesses open in town, especially for dining.
- Lara (8/5): - Not much around for places to eat but a nice motel for the price. It was very quiet
- Dave (10/5): - This is a great find! Super friendly, clean, and reasonably priced. If this location works for you, you can’t beat it!
- Linda (10/5): - I have stayed in some fancy motels and this is the first one that had an excellent shower! The water pressure was AMAZING! The room was perfect for what was needed.
- Michael (10/5): - Friendly staff.
- Wayne (10/5): Very Nice Thank You - This place and staff are awesome. Would highly recommend Nothing
- Chien-Jung (10/5): - Good place to stay. The room was small but cleaned and the staffs are friendly.
- Mary (10/5): - The property is very well maintained, extremely clean and the room was comfortable and quiet. The town is very small, people are friendly, and it was nice to walk around.
- John (10/5): - Nice hotel
- Karen (10/5): - Spotless and very quiet room with microwave and refrigerator. Exceptionally friendly staff.
- finbarsmom (10/5): Great place and value if you are in the area - Super clean rooms, large bathroom with great hot water, comfy beds, good wifi, very quiet and even the carpet was v. clean. Gas station next door has lots of groceries and meals, etc. This hotel welcomes dozens of railroad engineers every night but don't be put off by all the men with gear in the lobby they are nice and harmless :)
- Jennifer (10/5): - First of all the address listed on Expedia takes you to the wrong spot. The hotel is right as you enter town after/next to the YesWay gas station across from Cowboy Inn sign. Don't just a book by its cover. When we arrived the receptionist made lots of apologies that breakfast is not included, rooms were clean but small, only one person on duty to help, and asked if we wanted to see the room first and then decide. All very humble small town hospitality. We were so tired we did not care. The room was FINE. Spotlessly clean, v. large bathroom, v. private set up, comfortable bed, clean carpet, good air/heat, great wifi quiet as a mouse hotel. The hotel largely accomodates railroad crews nightly and with all the gruff crews around you would not know, the place is quiet and peaceful. If you are in the area and need a place to put your head, highly recommend. Gas stations next door have plenty groceries, pizza, etc.
- nlwaage (8/5): 1st time and it was FINE - My room was very clean. The check-in staff was very friendly. A small but excellent shower. The room had good lighting. Nice bed linens and comfortable mattress.
The pillows were too soft. They puffed down to no head support.
I will stay again. For the price it is a good basic motel.
- MaryRN66 (10/5): WOW! What a FIND! - Edgemont is a small town south of Custer, SD and outside of Hotsprings, SD. This hotel has been updated and is a GREAT FIND! The rooms are clean (and this is from an OCD-Registered NURSE!) and the beds super comfortable. The staff are very friendly and are happy to help you find local attractions based on your interests. The owner, Deb, has made this hotel a hidden treasure that most of the surrounding communities book when family comes to visit. We are very very happy to have found this gem in Edgemont and will definitely be coming back and referring others. Thank you, Travelodge!!
- joncW3761RY (10/5): Great place, great staff - The manager Deb is always friendly and helpful, the cleaning staff and the maintenance guy are no different. Anytime we ask for anything or report an issue, they take care of it immediately. There have been times during the holidays, that the staff has made or brought in food, set out treats for everyone, and offered this to all of the guests. The place is always clean, and we have never had an issue. Great place, great staff, and I always look forward to staying here, and talking with them.
- L7416NXds (10/5): Best place in Edgemont to stay! - Having spent about 80 nights at this Travelodge during the past year (2020-2021) while working in Edgemont it became a home away from home. The staff is service oriented, very friendly, very professional and very willing to help make our stay the best it could be. The rooms are always spotless and just what you need. Excellent value.
- T2643WMcc (10/5): Awesome service!!! - The travelodge in Edgemont is always clean, Friendly and the staff does an amazing job. It's a railroad hotel so it is interesting interacting with the railroad crews. The staff does an amazing job taking care of the crews and it shows. 10/10 recommend!!
- charlesdN2579BX (10/5): Great Discovery in Edgemont - Our room at the Travelodge in Edgemont was such a pleasant place to spend the night. Very clean, quiet and had everything we needed. Good beds, air-conditioning and did we mention, CLEAN. Staff was very helpful, too. Definitely will stay here again on our next visit to Edgemont!
- dwhb72 (10/5): Very updated/upgraded hotel with a great staff! Give them a try. - Rooms have flat screen tv, cable with a million channels, climate control air/heat conditioner, and they're very clean with a comfortable queen bed. Presently only one queen bed per room but perfect for a traveling couple or someone going solo.
The staff is very friendly and makes you feel right at home, even has a common use kitchen with a stove, microwave, and refrigerator for guests to use.
Don't skip this motel because it won't let you make an online reservations or a direct phone reservation, stop on in and meet these fine folks and see for yourself.
