- M (10/5): Great value for money. Highly recommend. - Very clean, dog friendly and had everything that is required for a night stay. Love the fact that there is only one small charge for dogs.
- michael (10/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Will be returning. - We have stayed here several times. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. It’s only a short walk into town.
- Dennis (8/5): Good value for money - We stayed in "The Bridge" twin room. Nice size, beds were very comfortable, and bathroom was spotless. Good value for the money.
- Jill (9/5): We had a wonderful stay at the barge inn , fantastic location on the canal . The staff were exceptionall , friendly and - The position was perfect The room was a little bit dark
- Susan (8/5): A good stay. - Breakfast was great. The staff were fabulous. The stairs up to the room were quite difficult to manoeuvre… maybe a new fitted carpet would make things a bit easier.
- Samuel (10/5): Very relaxing - Immaculately clean, great location
- Ruth (4/5): Not a place I would return to - A very warm welcome. Comfortable bed. Radiator that we turned on in room The place is very run down. Holes in carpets in stairs. Blind in bathroom hanging off
Very bad experience with food we ordered in the evening.
I had cheese in my plate that had been used for grating previously. Very expensive for very poor quality.
- Christine (6/5): Good location, comfortable bed. it would not be my first choice for lodging in Bradford on Avon. - Location was great. The facility was a bit worn. The carpets were not particularly clean. The furniture as well. please note that breakfast is not included, as this was not pointed out to me beforehand.

- Patricia (10/5): - I had requested a late check in but I had a problem with my car so I couldn't get there. The staff phoned me and I couldn't pick up. I called them back but there was no answer, so they sent me an email with all the instructions on how to get into my room. They went over and above.

- Welham (10/5): - An exceptional small inn...really a hidden treasure.Comfortable room, friendly and efficient staff and excellent food and beer.Only very minor negative was that there was little cupboard space, but the structure of the room would prevent any alterations. Overall we had a great stay Only slight negative was the lack of cupboard space but this was our problem as we needed an unusual amount of clothes because we had to attend several very different engagements. It certainly did not detract from the excellence of the property or our stay.
- Eric (9/5): -
- Lyn (7/5): Pretty village - Location is excellent with a 5 minute walk into town. Lovely oldy worldy feeling with most old high buildings giving a lot of caracture to the place. The girl who checked us in was fabulous and helped us to the extreme to order evening meal delivered from outside as the inn chef was unwell. The Inn has narrow and quite a few steep stairs to the bedrooms which we struggled with as OAPs but it is part of the building which looks quite old in some parts from outside..but inside is tidy.

- Jason (9/5): Definitely a recommendation to revisit - Ideal location with excellent surroundings and fantastic friendly staff. Very welcoming also with dogs Replace the coffee machine with a more user friendly one please.
- Susan (8/5): Comfortable with parking and close to town with parking. - Close to town. Option of bar and food. Enjoyed the music of the group practising. Parking on site. Food and drink on site. Next to canal with view of boats. Friendly staff. Room was quite small but value for money.
- Anne (10/5): - Have stayed at The Barge a few times now and the evening meal and breakfast was excellent as usual.

- Jo (8/5): Good accomodation within flat walking distance to town. - Clean accomodation, very helpful, friendly staff. Walking distance to centre of town. We had an evening meal on the 2 nights of our stay and food was very good. Good choice of ales & ciders. Parking available. Breakfast not included in price of accommodation. It is available but you need to pay extra.
Would have been nice if the open fire in the backroom was lit.
- Colette (10/5): Perfect place to stay in a lovely part of Somerset - Decor, spacious room, helpful staff, location All good
- Karen (7/5): - The pub and setting was lovely but trip was cut short due to water leak. Was disappointed to leave 2 nights early. The Barge Inn have been great with the offer of another stay, I am awaiting a refund from booking.com It was unfortunate to have a leak which closed the pub which resulted in us leaving 2 nights early.
- Conrad (5/5): -
- Mike (10/5): - Very nice food. 👌
- Hilmy (9/5): Enjoyed my stay. Everything was smooth and pleasant - Great stay! The room was clean, comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. All good.

- Andrew (9/5): Lovely play to stay and very friendly staff - Friendly, convenient for our purpose
- Jessica (8/5): - Nice pub with brilliant rooms. Friendly helpful staff Nothing
- 1980TBG (9/5): Lovely place to stay - Location on the canal, great outdoor space although it was the wrong time of year for us to enjoy it. Cosy pub for food and drinks with log fires. Comfy beds. Great bathroom. A bit vague about gluten free breakfast options so ate locally
- kemsley (5/5): - The staff were polite and helpfull There was no heating in the room and the bar/restaurant was barely warm as the log fire kept going out. I will not be staying here again.
- Margaret (8/5): - The staff and food and location N/A
- Broadley Jackson (9/5): -
- Charlie (6/5): - location room was small which was expected but overpriced and kept being asked to pay . Also price for pet was expensive when he had so little space
- Graham (5/5): I wouldn't return. Very overpriced for below average experience - Bathroom was lovely. Well appointed Poor mattress little choice of tea coffee few on offer. Breakfast not taken. Didn't look very inspiring. Could be cleaner. Don't need to see cobwebs at this room rate.
- David Redwood (10/5): Excellent - Recommend Location
- Roy (4/5): Filled a purpose just - Carpets throughout were poor, bed mattress was uncomfortable (felt the springs on my back)
- David (10/5): -

- Edward (2/5): -
- Catherine (8/5): Really enjoyable place to stay. - No breakfast provided.
The location was great. Lovely walks into the town.
- Marella (10/5): Perfect stay - Excellant good value for money. Central location, lovely views of lock & canal boats. Great open log fires for dinner & breakfast. Lovely & warm for winter months. N/a
- Michael (9/5): I highly recommend this comfortable pub with comfortable rooms, excellent Moonraker ales and lovely staff. - The room, the location, the staff, the breakfast and the real ales, not necessarily in that order. Steep stairs could be a problem for some people.
- Anne (9/5): Our go to place to stay in Bradford on Avon - Room was great, warm and welcoming.
Bathroom large and clean.
Breakfast selection was good and value for money.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Even though the bed was large it was not as comfortable as expected, compared with other beds we have had in the other rooms on previous stay.
- Mandy (9/5): -
- Sally (8/5): Hope to be able to stay there again one day! - We had a very enjoyable stay at The Barge. Clean and comfortable and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy walk into Bradford centre. Both evening meal and breakfast were well cooked and good value. Our room was cold despite being given an electric heater but we understand they were having problems with their central heating system so presume this was just a temporary blip.
- jonathan (7/5): Overall a pleasant stay. - Lovely old pub and met by very friendly staff. It was a last minute booking and so I appreciated it being available. Lovely breakfast. Pretty small room which was OK as I was a single occupant.
- Lisa (4/5): Cold - Breakfast was very nice The heating was not working in our room. It was below zero outside and we were extremely cold in the room. One blow heater and a thin duvet didn't help much
- Trish (7/5): Friendly - no bar for a drink as restaurant so full so full - Central position - quant , built into old city wall Shower cubicle very small - a little shelf would be handy to put soaps on as on as too small to bend down to floor !
- Anne (10/5): Amazing, The Barge never disappoints! - Stayed before but in a different room, this one is just as good, lovely and inviting. Clean, spacious bathroom and a nice big bed!
Staff are very welcoming and the evening meal and breakfast were really good and value for money.
Looking forward to our next visit! Nothing in the room - all good.
- Rebecca (7/5): - Location
- Elena (7/5): Nice and comfortable location for a one-night stay - Clean and nice rooms even the decor was not to my taste. We were the only guests at the time and we got a room upgrade. Great scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast The restaurant was cold and the decor not to my taste
- Kathleen (10/5): -
- Halpin (9/5): Lovely hotel - Staff were pleasant and helpful
Rooms were clean and well maintained Stairs are a little steep, so if you're not too good on your feet could be a little tricky.
- Butters (9/5): -
- Ellie (8/5): A cosy, welcoming pub with easy access into Bath. Wouldn’t stay longer than a weekend, due to bed being quite uncomforta - Cost and welcoming Bed was very uncomfortable and needs a topper or to be changed and shower wasn’t the best.
- Lesley (7/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): -
- David (9/5): - Location, friendly and efficient staff. Nice log fire, in the snug.
- Mike (8/5): Great value for money with easy access to station - Small room, but clean and comfy bed. Good temperature. Good shower. Decent TV signal. Breakfast was good (a bit slow to serve but worth the wait). Good location for station and direct trains to Bath (our reason for staying there) and enough car parking space too. Friendly staff,
- Michael (9/5): - Could do with a better smart tv
- Maxine (5/5): -
- Amanda (7/5): very pleasant stay in good location. - It was very convenient and staff were friendly. The shower head neds descaling!
- Michaela (10/5): Stopover on walk along K&A canal - Beautiful room, a stopover on our walk along the Kennet & Avon canal to Bath. Right on the canal and only a short walk into town. Lovely food and staff. Highly recommend
- CHRISTINA (9/5): Nice comfortable hotel, lovely staff - Great place to stay whilst visiting relatives. Very comfortable and clean, lovely staff and tasty breakfast. Very helpful staff when we had a problem with our car. Nothing
- Sophia (9/5): - staff very friendly, location good for a place with parking, great price - but was a Monday night so may be more at the weekend
- Alison (8/5): - Very clean room and linen, spacious bathroom and bedroom, plentiful toiletries.
- Barbaros (6/5): - Staff were friendly and accommodating... Quite expensive...breakfast not included in price, bed uneven to the point where I almost rolled out of it...
- Phil (9/5): Perfect room, location and hospitality - Lovely room in a lovely old building. Great location, with lots of parking. Evening emal and breakfast were very good and the staff welcoming and friendly. Shower was a little on the weak side
- Carole (8/5): We definitely recommend this place! And will stay again with hopes we see her again! - It was a quaint spot outside of the hustle and bustle of Bath that was walking distance to town. Rooms and bath were large and comfy. Conveniently served beverages and breakfast. We had a good laugh afterwards of the service that made us never to forget The Barge Inn. The carpeting leading upstairs was a bit tired. The evening service when we arrived did not go out of their way to be gracious hosts. It was just the opposite that we had a good laugh afterwards.
- David (10/5): -
- linda (9/5): Lovely friendly staff, clean and lovely food. - Traditional style building, oldyworldy features in our room.
- William (8/5): The only problem was the sloping bed - Great location, great food, and helpful, friendly staff. An older property with plenty of character and an open log fire. Convenient on-site parking. The service was, at times, a little slow. The price to pay for character was a sloping floor, making one side of the bed hard to sleep in. We stayed two nights. One night on the bad side each.
- Graham (8/5): It was located in a great place for our needs and we had an excellent nights sleep. - Room was lovely and clean. Bed very comfortable.
Location excellent.
Didn’t have breakfast but what we saw, looked great. Stairs very steep, would not suit disabled. Could do with tidying up on stairs and landing.
- John (4/5): Could not recommend - Log fire
Drinks facilities in room good.
Comfortable bed, quiet. Main course was poor , chicken pie pastry inedible. No fruit or juice offered at breakfast or cereal.
Shower room modern but no towel rails.
Stair carpet torn. No central heating small heater in bedroom Standard poor for price charged.
- Kelly (10/5): Excellent hospitality and lovely setting. - The inn staff were very friendly and welcoming. I rang ahead on the day of arrival to see if we could leave our bags at the inn whilst exploring Bradford on Avon. They were more than happy to let us.
Our room was exceptionally clean and cosy. The bed was comfortable and we slept well.
The inn was only a 10 minute walk from the station and is perfectly located.
The Barge Inn is cosy and a beautiful old building. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend 👌 I think breakfast could be included in the price of the room.
- Olivia (8/5): -
- Entwistle (9/5): Nice and relaxing with great facilities in the room and the bar.with complementary car parking - Peaceful and relaxing Everything
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Michelle (8/5): - Location was perfect for our cycle tour Expelair in bathroom to work
- Marcela (9/5): Muy buena opción, permite recorrer BradFord on Avon a pie (es una joya) y está muy cerca de Bath. - La ubicación. Y dormir arriba de un pub era algo que queríamos hacer, y fue una experiencia excelente.
- Jo (7/5): Great location for a nights stay, staff and food were amazing…shame about the mattress! - Room was nice and well presented.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Nice location next to the canal and close to town.
Food was amazing, great selection of beer at a really reasonable price. Mattress was old and uncomfortable, shame because the room was lovely!
Shower pressure was poor.
- Damian (4/5): Nice staff, decent but expensive bar but rooms and common areas need some TLC - The staff were lovely and helpful and did all they could to make our stay pleasant. The bar area and the downstairs bar are pleasant and have easy access. The room wasn't great. It was large which was nice but needs maintenance. Also the heating wasn't on and while It wasn't massively cold weather the room was chilly. Not hugely uncomfortable but not exactly pleasant either, especially in the bathroom which had no heating nor anywhere to hang or dry towels.
The mattress/bedding wasn't fantastic (tired, creaky mattress and pillows etc) which I wouldn't have expected in a room of this price bracket. The shower was very low pressure and our friends shower (room next door) was such low pressure that it didn't work at all until the shower head was set to the increase pressure setting, and then only barely.
We couldn't open the curtains on one of the windows in the room as the curtain pole was almost falling down and had jammed up the curtain. Again, didn't make life any harder but isn't what you'd expect for a room at this price.
While it didn't impact the room itself the carpets in the landing and stairs are very stained and have holes etc.
Basically for a £150+ per night (no breakfast inc) room you would expect better maintenance/materials. It could be a lovely room but needs some attention. It may be that other rooms are in better shape, may just be bad luck.
The outside of the property is also a little un-loved, perhaps related to the time of year but the frontage needs weeding, the garden needs mowing etc.
