Guest Reviews
- Ian (8/5): Very convenient for my requirements - Conveniently set by the river and close to the town. No breakfast.
- Bob (6/5): Friendly staff, nice bar on the river and close to town - Good location, close to town The whole place needs a makeover
- Karen (7/5): Great view. Friendly landlord. - Location. Fabulous view.
Friendly staff.
Comfortable bed. The carpets were very dirty and stained, although were hoovered. No food available. We tried to enter the dining room to look at a menu as we were informed they could do bar snacks, but a lady shouted at us to shut the door because of the dog. Hair in the shower. Hair on bottom of sink. Bathroom flooring needs replacing.
- Nicholls (10/5): š - Good location very picturesque š
- Elsworth (8/5): - Proper old fashioned pub. Staff friendly. Accommodation basic but excellent value for money
- Alan (4/5): It was OK but would not stay again unless they supplied a breakfast. - They didnt supply breakfast.
- Matthew (9/5): Room with a View - Room was clean, with a beautiful view of the river. The lady that checked us in was brilliant. A beautiful location, we had a lovel stay.
- paula (10/5): - Friendly landlord. Great location and value for money.
- Rachel (8/5): We loved our stay . - By the river . Good outside area for having a drink. The Tv was not getting a good reception. Needs sky in the rooms . As we wanted to relax and watch tv.
- Tony (7/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): Lovely stay with friends. Clean hotel friendly staff great atmosphere. Very comfy bed. River view. - 2nd stay here. Really nice hotel by the river. Lovely room. Friendly staff. Nothing to dislike but a suggestion.
To supply cups/mugs in the room so could be reused whilst there.
- Clare (9/5): Excellent see you again - Love this place visit every year - be back soon!! Nothing
- Sarah (7/5): Pleasant one night stay - Perfect location a short walk into the main town with lots of shops, fun fair, amusements and restaurants nearby. Swift check in, Comfortable bed and pillows. There is a small refrgerator in the room alongside tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom is very small and the shower is quite hazardous to get in and out. Bathroom could do with updating.
- Owen (9/5): - Great price and location. The emergency light was above our bed and kept my partner awake for some of the night.
- Julian (10/5): Perfect break - Great location.
- Leigh (6/5): - Location was good Miserable staff

- Michael (1/5): If they remove the green light, it's fine. If not, avoid. - The property is in a nice location and everything would have been fine except for one issue for which we complained to Marstons who issued us with a full refund for the night's accommodation. We stayed overnight on 24 - 25 March 2026 in room 4. When we turned out all the lights to sleep at about 10:30pm, there was still a bright green lightbulb that remained on in the domed light in the ceiling that we could not turn off. The room was so bright you could still see everything. Being on the ceiling there was no way we could cover it. My wife went down to the bar but there was no-one there to help. It was impossible to sleep - truly horrific, like having an alien spaceship about to land in your room - the worst hotel experience we have ever had.
- leighann (9/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): - Very friendly staff; great location looking out over the river; nice pub with good range of beer but didn't have time to try
- David (5/5): Nice Inn, great location, terrible sleep - Pub is fine and the room we had was great value for money, with a perfect river view. Unhappy that the emergency light brightly illuminated the the room with a green glow as soon as the the light was switched off. I spoke with the manager about this and explained that the emergency light should only come on when power to the light circuit is lost. He said the lights were a recent addition made by the brewery and he was powerless to intervene. Shame, I cannot rate it higher but if you can't sleep it must rate lower.
- Savanna (10/5): - I absolutely love the location, it's so peaceful

- Karl (10/5): Always a pleasure - Friendly staff. Amazing location. I stay here every year. Nothing not to like
- Gillian (9/5): Excellent hospitality, location and price. - We love staying here when weāre in Stourport. The location is fantastic, itās right by the river. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are clean. We always have to leave early in the morning and appreciate the takeaway cups in the room so we can grab a tea and coffee to take one with us. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food on offer is really good. Nothing.
- Gillian (9/5): -
- Judith (3/5): Disappointing - The room and stair way needed to be cleaned. The bathroom had not ben cleaned after the previous guest there was tooth paste in the sink. The bar should have been open until 11pm closed at 9pm
- Price (10/5): - Everythuhg
- Richard (10/5): ., -
- Jenny (9/5): Lovely stay in great location - Friendly place and perfect location Lighting in bedroom when lights are off but had been told about it as it is a health and safety requirement so little the property owners can do about it.
- Brian (9/5): -
- Pete (6/5): Perfect for a short town centre stay - Lovely quaint oldeworld type pub, lovely bar and good beer and the room was ideal for our 3 night stay for a local music festival very limited food options

- hayden (10/5): great stay we will be back - Beautiful location next to the river, wonderful traditional bar with open fire and friendly atmosphere Shower was a little slow but not really a problem
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Richard (10/5): A Jewel on the Severn. - Great welcome, proper pub with traditional food, excellent mixed grill.
Fantastic room with great views of the river, located close to the busy basin full of boats and town. Super comfy room with all the basic amenities (tea/coffee, telly and fridge etc) A wonderful break and will definitely be returning. Property could take a little finding, tucked away on the riverbank.
- Sue (8/5): -
- Nicholls (8/5): Great night - Beautiful location stayed there before would always stay there again Stunning location even in the winter
- Julie (9/5): Will definitely stay here again - Location is beautiful, right on the river with lots of outside seating and only a 5 minute stroll into town. Very friendly people, welcoming and genuine smiles and chatter. Really comfy room and good value for money The bathroom could do with an update, very ā80s suite but it was clean!
- Chris (9/5): Cosy well located, good value. - Cosy pub on the bank of the River Severn. Close to the water basins and locks.
- Cummins (10/5): A very pleasant stay and would have no hesitation in staying there in the future - The room was warm and comfortable Nothing. It suited our needs
- foley (10/5): - Fantastic staff.
Really good range of beers.
- Eleanor (10/5): - We were made to feel very welcome, the cask ale was excellent, the room spacious clean and comfortable with a view over the severn. Will stay again
- SAM (10/5): Perfect little escape. The landlord was very friendly and helpful. Stunning river view from our massive room! 10/10 - Lovely location. Great selection of drinks
- Teresa (9/5): Excellent value for money - Great location, comfortable room with lots of extras fridge and tea/coffee facilities Emergency exit light - so so bright above the bed
- Terry (3/5): Very expensive to stay for 14 hours. - Location No breakfast
- Adam (7/5): -
- Gillian (8/5): -
- Paul (6/5): -
- Smith (10/5): - Location on the bank of river seven. Excellent hosts. Clean comfy room
- Adrian (9/5): Really nice place for a short break. I would certainly book again. - Location was great, room was nice, tidy and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom window handle was partially missing and needed replacing, although this was a very minor point overall, which didn't really detract from the trip at all.
- Sarah (10/5): - Just on the river Food was a little limited but what we had was nice
- Michael (9/5): Good value rooms by the river in Stourport - Clean, simple room with decent bathroom / shower and great view of River Severn. Convenient parking, very quiet overnight. Good value place to stay in Stourport. Dog friendly. Fridge in room. Nothing.
- Alex (10/5): -
- Lesley (8/5): - Location was excellent to our needs, we didnt have breakfast as we were visiting family in the town. As we only needed a base, it was just the job.
- Debbie (10/5): -
- jennifer (4/5): - Lovely location We deliberately chose somewhere that advertised food so we didnāt have to go out once we arrived. When we arrived we discovered that the kitchen was closed. (Not due to time) Barman recommended an another pub which was in walking distance so not too much of an issue but disappointing.
The bed itself was comfortable. The sink had not been cleaned, there was toothpaste and coffee stain on it.
- Clare (9/5): Fab time every time - Another great stay see you next year Nothing
- STEVEN (9/5): - Location great for town
Staff very friendly
View from room looking out onto river T.V. signal not very good, picture kept freezing
Shower and little small
- Dave n Vivien (10/5): - Surroundings and pleasant staff
- Pbards (3/5): Poor - Only think we liked was the bed was comfy and the surrounding area was lovely. Staff were rude on arrival, had to wait as was told we need to make sure youbare booked, then waited for key for room.
No where for buggy downstairs so was told we would have to take the buggy up and down the stairs which was very inconvenient.
There was a dark barging upstairs which you could hear and the place had a bad odour to it.
It's ok putting nice pictures of the place but the pictures dont reflect what we stayed in and I would have asked for a refund but not sure as we booked through booking.com.
- Rob (9/5): Rowing event trip stay in a great location that was complemented by perfect weather. - The Angel Inn was perfectly located on the riverbank close to the marina. We were able to watch the rowing event that we had travelled down for from just outside in the beer garden! We received a very warm welcome from the landlord upon arrival who made us feel really at home! Nothing, everything about the stay was enjoyable!
- Craig (6/5): Great location and staff, but tired room. - Central location and lovely view of the river. Landlord was very friendly and accommodating. Check-out was very easy. Quite small twin beds - I couldnāt sleep comfortably as my feet were hanging over the end of the bed. Bed linen looked reasonably clean but the pillows had a slight odour. Lots of dust and cobwebs in the room - the walls, windows and fittings need a good clean. The room was a bit tired and needs a refresh. There were also no glasses for water. Overall, I would expect a cleaner room with more facilities for the cost of the stay.
- Deborah (7/5): -
- Jackie (8/5): Nice little stay - Views and location . Loved the pub Squeaky bed
- Mc89 (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (9/5): Made to feel welcome and had a lovely weekend. - Friendly staff, handy location, scenic spot, nice beer. Nothing.
- Gillian (8/5): Very nice - The room was nice bed was comfortable staff were friendly
- Anthony (8/5): Really nice pub with friendly staff and a lovely comfy bed and very clean - Lovely pub
Nice rooms and friendly staff N/a
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the friendly atmosphere lov3ly and chilled out experience Nothing apart from having to go home
- Dean (6/5): Pleasant - Lovely place next to river Not there fault but was so hot and no fans
- Richard (10/5): Overnight stay was superb and comfortable - Location was brilliant lovely by the river excellent very comfortable and very abliging helpful staff
- Angela (9/5): Superb -
- Trevor (7/5): A very convenient stop - Needed a bed for the night and the location was spot on and the staff super friendly. Didn't get the opportunity to sample the beers or food but maybe another time. We were also a little worried about the music playing outside the bedroom window but at 10pm it stopped dead, mid-track! If this is usual practice then thank you (although I was singing along at the time!) The experience was let down by the decor and fittings, the entrance staircase and room #3 really could do with a facelift.
- James (8/5): Very good - Location right on the river Severn There is no lock on the bedroom door. Cardboard cups in the room not crockery cups. Room a bit dated
- Sue (8/5): Excellent position , everything for a comfortable stay with very friendly staff . Will stay again . - Excellent position near the river but also short walk to town and parking available at property . Staff were all very friendly and room clean. Excellent steaks served in Restaurant , highly recommended Only one small point is that the beds could do with updating although very clean
- Christine (8/5): Very good - The view of the river, beautiful. Shower temperature rather temperamental.
- Rachel (5/5): I had to cancel because of the lack of reliable Wi-Fi which I only discovered by reading a review - I had to cancel my stay and book elsewhere because the advertised Wi-Fi could not be guaranteed to be working in my room and when I phoned the angel inn to check I was told that it sometimes dropped out. As I was relying on wifi to work a cancellation was my only option.
I was disappointed because I contacted the pub immediately after my booking (and after reading some negative reviews relating to wifi) to check. The pub did not come back to me for over a day and I had to phone them. during our conversation, they told me that the delay had caused me to lose my penalty free cancellation period which they were intending to charge me. This was not fair because I only booked based upon the pubs marketing which stated that there was Wi-Fi in all rooms.
To be fair, when I phoned the pub they were friendly and honest with me about the lack of Wi-Fi which prevented a work disaster and Iām grateful for that. And Booking.com. liaised with the pub and refunded my deposit so all ended well.
I did see the Pub from a distance as I had friends nearby who had a boat in the marina and they said the pub was lovely. And the location was certainly great. It was probably my mistake to have considered this Pub for a work stay. I lack of reliable Wi-Fi
- Peter (3/5): Needs a good clean. - Location Unclean room.
- Julian (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (2/5): Very disappointing. Poor facilities and not clean - Location was good looking Iooking over the river but very limited parking. Beer was good. Room was not quiet. It was also directly above the outside area which played loud music and a lot of noise. Breakfast was non existent, I was told if I wanted breakfast to go to a cafe round the corner. Food was terrible. Manager decided to close bar early as not enough customers. Bad smell in bedroom from the drains
- Stella (10/5): Exceptional - People location friendlynes Tv didn't work properly
- Jean (8/5): Just stayed one night but no complaints - Didnāt have breakfast All ok, great location by the river to walk along the river trails or sit out in the seating area overlooking the riverā¦staff friendly and helpful, room was good
- Amanda (7/5): OK for a night - Really friendly owner, great position for enjoying Stourport.
Nice crisp white sheets. It would be nice, to have breakfast included, but there are places to eat in the town.
Rooms need a really good clean. Dirty skirting boards, shower needs re grouting and visible pipes, toilet base and sink needs a really good scrub.
- Alcock (9/5): Ideal for river trips and nice staff - Lovely location.room was nice and clean.shower was hot and fluffy towels. Didnāt do breakfast
- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Amanda (5/5): Passable - Location was great.staff lovely. Lovely view Coffee facilities not good cups cardboard very few coffees and milk.not very clean overall bed was clean
